.....Alright. Work right now is only part-time since its slow season, so I'll still be taking commissions just to earn a little side cash.
So you can all check on the status of your commission, I made a visible queue journal.

You can view it to your hearts content. The first section is in order in which I'll be working on it, top to bottom. The bottom section is stuff I'll be completing at random. It's stuff that doesn't need to sit in a queue, because of the amount of money in which it was bought for.
I'll update this every time I sit down to start a commission, and every time I complete one. The time stamp there will let you all know when the last time I edited it was as well.

General | Posted 10 years agoNot REALLY a frequently asked question, but I have had several of my commissioners ask how their commission was coming along.
So here's ACTUALLY why I take so long to finish a commission:
Number One: Art isn't my full-time job. While yes, for a couple months there I was doing this for my source of income, I was very busy looking for jobs. So I don't exactly have all day to sit down at draw.
Number Two: I have shit internet. Like. REALLY shitty internet. I'm lucky if it'll stay on a solid ten minutes. It's usually flickering in and out, and it makes it very difficult to get references. Let alone even trying to submit them. Sometimes I actually have one or two done for a week before they get submitted, just because I have such difficulties getting my internet to stay connected long enough to submit it.
Number Three: My computer is also shit. The internal fan shut down on me about three months ago, and I'm using a mini desk fan to blow at my computer to keep it cool enough to draw lol But the odd time it still does overheat and shut down, resulting in lost artwork.
Number Four: It's kind of a cop-out excuse, but it still does validate. I have ADD, so my attention is taken by the drop of a pin. I'll be drawing, then need to go pee, and then I end up going for a grocery run, then when I come back I'm playing video games. I just solid-forget what I was doing.
Number Five: SOMETIMES I JUST DONT FEEL LIKE DRAWING ?!??!?!??? Is this a valid excuse???? I don't know. I'll sit down at just stare at a blank canvas and go "Nah not today".
SO YES. While my sketch commissions take an hour and a half at most to draw, it could take a month before I get my queue done because of the reasons above. I'm not trying to excuse myself for being slow, I'm just explaining why you might see me submitting daily, then all of a sudden I'm gone for a month or two.
When my internet is good, so is my work ethic. I'll try and work quicker, but again it depends on mostly my internet and my computer.
Anyways, there's your answer. So just keep in mind when you are wondering where the fuck your commission is, ITS PROBABLY ON ITS WAY. But don't be afraid to ask anyways, there's a chance I might have forgotten it.

I say for the first time but really it's the second. If you remember my Comic from a while back, the very first time I played FNAF I got Golden Freddy on my first run-through, and it shut down the game, so I just quit at that lol
SO NOW I'M GONNA TRY AND BEAT THE FIRST AND SECOND AHAHHHHHH This is going to be so scary
I suck at strategy games, and I'm horrible with horror games. I love horror movies, they don't scare me, but video games? I'm fucked.
I almost punched Toby in the face with a wii-mote once when I was flailing in fear while playing Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
Now I wish I could stream or record this for you guys, because it's going to be hilarious, but my computer is such a piece of shit, I'm not even sure at this point if it's even going to play them properly lol. But I will tell you all about my experiences, either in journal or comic form.

Truth is, I will need to buy new tires. And since Winter is coming, I'll need to get some new ones eventually anyways, it just came quicker than I was hoping. Now, stupidly, I don't have a full time job. I'm barely making it with my art, solely so I can be lazy and stay home all day. I'm looking for new jobs, and I am already volunteering parttime somewhere for experience.
Anyways, I will need my car to get to and from work. Until then, I will take transit, but a lot of jobs won't give me the position unless I have a reliable form of transportation into work. I will of course say I have my car, but ANYWAYS I'm going off on a tangent.
I need money, I need money quickly. I'll feel too bad opening up another ten sketch slots when I haven't even touched the last ten I got yet.
So instead I'm doing a long-ish term art slave.

I think its time I tossed this laptop out the window LOL
Typing this on my phone since on here the spacbar, b, and v keys works....
The fan cut out a couple days ago, it started yelling at me and I didn't know what was going on so I just powered down my computer and let it sit overnight. Next morning discovered the fan had stopped completely LOL SO NO WONDER its overheating so quickly and shutting down.
I have it sitting on a cooling pad atm, and I'm about to go out to buy a mini fan to keep it cooler... but well
If anyone has a laptop they're not using or SOMETHIng?!?!??!? I'm willing to take commissions for it or y'know... accept donations LOL;;;;; I'm kind of in a pickle right now as I don't have the expendable money to buy a new laptop since rent just came out.
Gonna try and work on commissions here as best as I can, hopefully the cooling pad and external fan will keep it up long enough to work.
Seriously though I can't catch a break. First my back preventing me from working and now my shitting laptop;;;;;

My laptop is a piece of shit. A lot of my keys have fallen off over the course of my having it for three years lmao I know homerow /very/ well now since I don't have the visual of where the letters are lol
Anyways that was never an issue, I didn't care if my keys broke off, the keyboard is still useable. This hunk of junk overheats plenty too, but it was fine because i have a cooling pad under it. All the spokes over the heat vent bust off because it got so hot they melted.
Yesterday the laptop fan started screaming at me, and was whirring extremely loud and I didn't know why. It eventually stopped I guess.
Today the kicker hit. I tend to work on three sketches at once to make it go faster. I'll do the initial sketch for one and move on the the next, then the next, then I'll start defining the three, then I color the three etc etc.
For some idiotic reason I hadn't saved any of them yet (stupid I know) but my computer NEVER had a history of shutting down randomly, so there's my reasoning for not being concerned about saving. This thing is a piece, but that was one thing that was good about it.
Naturally until today. Three sketches at the coloring stage and I lost all three of them. Yes I'm pissed, but there's nothing I can do about it, so I have to start from the beginning.
TL;DR
I'm raising my prices because I need to both afford rent, and a new computer. Toby found a decent one for like $400 that should last me until I can find a new job and be able to afford a really amazing one.
So I'm sorry but my $10 sketch prices are going to be going up as well. Because as much as I liked being able to guarantee these selling because they were so cheap, I simply can't afford to anymore. So hopefully people will still buy them at a higher price.
Maybe once I get a new job I'll be able to drop the prices again. If you want to know my current prices, check out my Commissions tab!!

Hey guys! So, I know a lot of you don't have expendable money, but I was asked to share my sister's Go Fund Me so she could save up to take flying lessons. Being a pilot has been one of her dreams for ages, ans she's only just now decided her heart needs to be there. She's been a travel agent for a few years, and has since moved on to other office work, but hse knows her passion is still in flying.

Spoilers maybe...?????????
Are there different endings to this game or no?
Anyways wow what a gorgeous game!! I didn't realize it was this short, but at the same time I figured as much...? Took me about two hours to get to the end, but i was sad because I didn't collect all the shinies D:
ANYWAYS so the ending
I met only four other companions along the way (which was still surprising because I didn't think anyone else would be playing this game right now because its an older one) but it was fun. I had someone with me almost the entire last level through the snow, then I lost them just before i got eaten by a flying robot dragon cyclops and it stole a good portion of my scarf. I was sad.
Then I climbed the large snow hill, making sure to follow my beacons so i didn't get lost, but then eventually no more beacons remained in my sight, and after wandering more and more, my poor Journeyman died in the snow.
However the was....revived.??????????? by the white robes and I finished my climb, floated around in the sky a long time then finally made it to my destination of the split mountain. Then I ascended as a spirit while the credits rolled. It was really beautiful BUT I'm pretty certain I died and the white robes were like "Aw damn, lets send this failure to heaven" then heaven was like yeeaaaahhh we're pretending this is the mountain climb, but you're just ascending to heaven.
Regardless of what the ending meant, this was a beautiful, beautiful game and i'll be replaying it again to try and get all the shinies that make my scarf long.

SO while my back as been hurting I decided to take this time to just chill. Which is really nice LOL it's been a while since I've been this relaxed. (In pain, but relaxed)
And I started watching Yugioh for the first time ever. Me and Toby just finished the first season, and it was a lot of fun. But I guess we watched too much of it because I started having dreams about it.
Such as, I was Yugi and I was helping Kaiba and Mokuba find their third brother (???) Who was named "Deez Nuts Kaiba."
So I was running around in my dream, on a boat for some reason, searching and yelling for Deez Nuts Kaiba. It was weird.
ALSO TODAY!!!!
I got Journey and have been playing it. It's so beautiful!!1 I'm inspired. It's gorgeous.
And I found another online player!!! I thought for certain I'd be playing alone LOL since the game is so old. But I managed to find a friend and idk what to do with them lmao we're just chittering at each other and running down sand hills. But it's a lot of fun.
Can't wait to keep playing.
But soon as my back FInaLLY FUCKING hEALS I'll be back at commissions full time!

Got a massage yesterday which felt REALLy nicE
but it wasn't the instant relief i was hoping for LOL which everyone told me i was stupid for thinking it would be
Anyways my masseuse told me to do back stretches throughout the day and take an epsom salt bath once a week and it should get better soon. Apparently my glutes are tense too -wiggly brows-
So it's been getting better slowly, but it's still a little unbearable to sit down for a while. SO.
What I got is one of those icyhot patches, and it actually feels really nice. So i might be able to get a couple commissions done before my back really starts to hurt again.
Let's get some work done!!

Four days later and my back is still in severe pain. I've done epson salt soaks, heat presses, rolling helplessly on the ground while wailing in pain, getting Toby to punch me repeatedly in the back, medicine, and I even tried cracking my back several times. Nothing seems to be helping (or making it worse, so don't worry)
I requested a massage appointment for tomorrow, so lets hope they can book me in. I'm tight on cash so I didn't really want to go that route, but its really impeding in my work.... So hopefully a massage will help, and if not, my next stop will be chiropractor. -sigh- Hopefully I can get this sorted soon. I can't even handle sitting down for even ten minutes. I'm trying to do at least 15 minute intervals for drawing then taking an hour break to just lay down and let my back reset. It's tough, but I need to get these sketches done //sob.
So my apologies that they're coming out slowly. Once I get this fixed it'll be art mania time!!
