Looks like I have to cheat and use a player model for both male and female to save money. This means male roos are going to have pouches.

I would love to find a modeler in the furdom, but looks like I have to search outside. Luckly I found some professional hobbiest/indie prices which will be easier on my wallet.

With Hero Engine having an indie version of their engine, this makes me happy even with the fact the cost of it has been lowered to around $5000 for the first year and $1000 for the years after. Still it makes it easier to get.

Yes, I'm drawing again. Finally!!! I blame work for my leak of drawing. Nothing says tired like coming home after work. People will be seeing a fat roo and happy dragon soon.

Well, the Midwest Furfest 2010 has come and gone. Not much had happened on the last two days of the con. It did rain on Sunday and I did get my commisson on Sunday. Will post a link to the image for the curious. Didn't get to met  Blue at this con at all.

Hopefully, the 2011 con is at the same hotel, so we can figure out a meeting time and place in the hotel. I really should get a new fursuit, because I may have more fun at the con that way. Just need to find a good fursuiter who does kangaroos really good.

Planning to push harder on getting my MMO moving. Going to have to spend more money to get things moving faster.

I would love to get a commission by  macroceli for a kangaroo model sheet to see his take on a MMO character, but that's one of those "Never will happen" type of things. Oh well.

Also, planning to get myself back into drawing. I haven't drawn for so long and I blame work.

First thing that I did when I got to Rosemont was I went to the wrong hotel. haha

There's another Hyatt close by the one the con is located and it had an convention in it too. Then I headed to right hotel to see it has a parking garage. No wonder this place still have rooms left. I bought my laptop thinking the hotel will have free wi fi in the lobby, but found out it doesn't. Oh well. Still can watch my Blazing Dragons cartoons and write my book on it while waiting for con to open.

Going to see about looking for Blue here in the con. Hopefully he sees this and we can make a meeting place and time this con. Be checking around lunch time to see if he makes a reply.

First commission I'm going to tomorrow is a kangaroo in the style of my MMO game. Well, the person going to do the commission sounded very interested in doing it. She also will be posting it on her FA account. :)

The bad news is that Torque Game Engine may end up disappearing if it doesn't find a buyer. This means I may end up having to find a new engine. Thought about UDK, but not a good MMO engine and it doesn't like my computer. Another is Unity 3D which can do MMOs. Oddly, Big World Tech has an indie price range that I can get, but no idea what the limits they put on their MMO engine. More expensive MMO engine is Hero Engine and now it has an indie version for $5000 and $1000 for the year after.

The good news is that I'm planning to start out even simpler with my MMO idea and make a 3D chat room program and expand from that. May end up making this program seperate from Primal Roar meaning I can look for new avatars for it. If there's a 3D modeler out there looking for work or someone knows of somebody. Let me know.

Another journal, another rant. hehe

Decided to follow a Zelda style world with a large city in the center and villages scattered around it. This means the world won't be too big, but the idea here is this world be a good size for a hobbiest/Small Budget Indie MMO. Well, I'm not planning to out do or mimic World of Warcraft. I'm not that crazy. :-D

Plan is to start Primal Roar as a solo game to get all the stuff into the game and start adding the Massively stuff into the game later. The game will have a "Choose Your Adventure" feel to it and lots of fun things on the side.

Going to try to give modeling the my model sheets a go.  kngru said he wanted to give them a go for me, but looking at the model sheets day after day is making me want to give them a go. I would love to find a professional to do the models and I do have list.  Mustel knows one of them on the list.

Finally planning to get back to working on my 3rd version of my Primal Roar Character Creator. It will have the usually kangaroo choice and it will include options for a fox, dragon, and a ferret.

With the kangaroo and dragon model sheets created, I can get 3D models into my MMO. Just need to get them modeled first.

That leaves Ferrets, Foxes, Raccoons, Rats, Bears, Iguanas (Going to be first instead of Gators), Horses, Tiger, Rabbits, and Birds (Going to be generic for customization). Then after getting the gameplay working, Otters, Wolves, Skunks, and other animals will be added.

So hopefully soon I have pictures of the dragon and kangaroo running around in the game world. :)

Happy that I finally figured out how to put ground textures in Torque 3D. Now, I have to start adding assets to that scene to make a character creation level. Just need a kangaroo, tree, and other assets to put in that scene. Oh, boy. hehe

Another thing I need is a title screen picture of a cliff with a kangaroo, ferret and raccoon standing or sitting on it. Also a dragon flying close by and space for Primal Roar logo and the buttons underneath that logo.

hehe Lots to do, so wish me luck. Hopefully I get it to a point that I can show it off to people and prove that it is a real project.

So coming soon will be a small peek of Primal Roar's character creation gui and title screen...in video game form. *wiggles paws and grins*

Planning to start building the character building level in my MMO. I can use the robot character in Torque 3D as a way to figure out how big to make objects in the game while waiting for the kangaroo character to be built by me or by someone else.

Found out that Torque 3D supports mesh hiding and texture layering natively. Texture layering will allow players to place different fur patterns over a base fur texture. Mesh hiding is a current generation 3D game trick that hides polygons from the graphic card and the player as long it isn't textured. This allows things like all the gear to be worn on the character and only the gear that the player wants to wear to only show on the character.

Decided to skip this year to do an April Fool's prank on  Flinters and plan something for next year on him. hehe

Then again this could be the April Fools thing for him by making him wonder for a whole year. hehe

Well, I'm back home from being at disney with sore legs and a few sunburns.

It was a good trip while it lasted.

The bad part was finding out too late that there is actually a walk about Figment mascot character. Didn't thought Disney will ever turn him into a mascot. One of the characters I always wanted to dress as if I ever became a Disney cast member in my youth, but now I don't think that's possible with age and an allergy that I can't escape from. :P

Found an interesting resturant over at Downtown Disney called T-Rex Cafe which is a dinosaur themed place familiar to Rainforest Cafe. It has moving dinosaurs and there's a Build A Bear workshop area in there for making stuff dinosaur toys.

The LEGO store has a big red LEGO T-Rex in front of it.

Shame I didn't find the T-Rex video game in Disney Quest where you play as a T-Rex.

I'm currently at Disney World. :)

Have took several pictures of the red kangaroos they have at Animal Kingdom. Can't seem to find the grey kangaroos. Did find the kangaroo in the tree of life at the park.

Can't seem to find Louis the gator at the parks. :P

Thought I figured where he may be hiding, but seems the spot is for the two human characters of the movie.

After viruses took out my main computer's hard drive, I had to do the annoying thing of reinstalling every piece of software I need on that computer after getting it wiped empty. Norton didn't notice there was over 600 viruses on my computer that Best Buy's Geek Squad found. I had to search for my serial numbers for my adobe products and got Autodesk Maya back working on my computer. Just need to put a new anti-virus on it. Any suggestions?

Next week I'll be at Disney World. Got to make sure to get a picture of Louis the Gator over there. Already got my first day planned there. First Epcot then Animal Kingdom for roo pictures. hehe

Planning to hit Disney Quest before it closes and replaced with a new building. I remembered playing a T-Rex arcade game in that place where he run around eatting things. I wonder if it is still there. Got to get the name of that arcade.

With my software back on my computer got to get back to drawing. Planning to draw something up for  Blue. Also going to try to make a kangaroo 3d model sheet to use in Maya. Wish me luck. Got to get my web comic running again too. May use Maya for backgournds. hehe

Yup, I'll be going to Disney World in March between March 14th and 20th. Planning to get Figment and Louis the Gator stuff toys while I'm there. Also, going to get pictures of kangaroos in Animal Kingdom and try to get a picture of the mascot costume of Louis the Gator.

Side note planning to do a version three of my character creator flash with more features for the kangaroo and add in a choice to pick a dragon with some customizations.

Still looking for someone to create a 3D model of a toony non anthro kangaroo or draw a 3D model sheet of one for my MMO project. I got money!

Thinking of playing around with my Torque 2D engine and make a game. Too many ideas like a MMO tycoon game, kangaroo platformer, and a dragon shooter to name a few.

The con had trouble getting things open on Sunday. Lots of places where supposed to be open, but wasn't. Even the restaurant in the building was late for lunch. I ended up walking around the place a number times being bored even checked out the restaurant from the top floor a few times wondering I should eat there. Shame their lunch menu is a page big. Not a lot of choices. I did get more scripts written down while I was waiting for the restaurant to open for lunch even with the fact the con suite was loud enough to make thinking hard.

I ended up meeting  Duncan at the end of my stay at the con. Bad timing. Oh well. I already made reservations at the new hotel for 2010. Hoping to bring a fursuit to this one. Tempted to make my own fursuit. hehe I'm silly.

Hopefully, I get to talk longer with  Tombfyre and  Blue next con. Well, if they are coming to the 2010 one. Wish me luck. Should of talked to him when I saw him on Sunday, but my brain was busy thinking up ideas for comic strip gags. I was suppose to say hi for  drake_montana that day to the blue one. hehe Ooops.

Right now I'm planning my trip to Walt Disney World in March. Lots of things to do. Buy dragon stuff toys and take pictures of roos in Animal Kingdom are a few of things I have planned so far.

Found  Blue in his puffy fursuit and give him a hug along with  raccoondrew, who was in his fursuit.

Getting back my urge to draw finally and also been writing up comic strip scripts during the con.

Having trouble wanting to buy con stuff. Must be that "Going to Walt Disney World" jive telling me save the money for that trip. So, sorry to all the dealers and artists for not buying anything.

Chicago traffic was even crazier then last year and in March I have to go thru it again to get to my brother's house to stay night to get on an early flight for my trip to Walt Disney World.

Found  Tombfyre and  Blue finally. Took me two cons to do it.

It was a short hello and stay thing, too. Still haven't seen  Duncan or  ozkangaroo yet.

Getting ready to head off to the con area. Bringing a lot of books on drawing dragons and a single reference on helping draw a kangaroo. Planning to see I can find  Tombfyre and  Blue there. Also, say hello to  Duncan again and find  ozkangaroo, may not be hard just need to find a puffy roo.

After the con, it will be time to start planning for my trip to Walt Disney World in March.

Well, I'll be at this years Midwest Furfest. It gets bigger every year...or would that be busier every year. I couldn't get a room in the hotel this year for one. My quest to find Blue and Tombfyre begins again, too.

I'll be going to Disney World in the middle of March 2010 for a week. Going to grab some new Figment stuff while I'm over there. My puppet of him is falling apart for one and I need a new keychain with him on it. I also have to try that giant chicken leg thing. Must be one big bird. I wonder it been eating Duncan's food.

Getting that stronger feeling on wanting to close The Wild every day. Right now Second Life feels too much about money and building for my liking. Use to be a fun place when there were places to play an RPG or a myst type game. Also, most of my friends have left making it the feeling to quit even greater. With the want to make my own MMO, the expensive of owning the sim seems to be putting a halt to that dream.

The only thing keeping me from closing the sim is amount of people living in The Wild. I don't want to make them homeless with a click.

It's my birthday today and that means I'm another year older. I have a couple projects that are lined up.

Torque 3D is now out of beta and that means time to work on the MMO dream of mine more.

Today, I'm going to start drawing up a birthday pic for myself starting Boston and Shaun.

I have plans to make the 3rd version of the character creator with pouches and dragons.

Finally, I'm hoping to my comic moving again. Age seems to make me lazy and hoping for a kick start will be needed.

You know about my MMO project by now, so I skip that. I am planning to redo my Character Creation Flash Toy with new features like belly fur and eye color picker. Also, may add a background selector like a cityscape for macros and a forest.

The company I'm working for decided to change my shift back to 3rd shift meaning I have to get use to sleeping by the Aussie clock again. Oh, the madness. hehe

I'm still working on my MMO. Found a better grass texture for the ground that I tried on my SL sim. Also, found a nice dirt looking texture that can work for me.

I will love to get a kangaroo in first. I'm still looking for a 3d modeler that can do a 3d model of a kangaroo. Decided to use a different style of roo for my game then the model sheet one. Still going to use it for something else, so it isn't going to waste. Besides, it's looking like I have to model everything and I need the practice.

Thinking of using  Mustel's ferret AV in SL as the ferret model for my MMO (if he lets me). I like his ferret.

Been playing to make a Spyro clone game to get money for funding my MMO project. The Spyro clone will have Legend of Zelda stuff in it too. Still playing with the look for the dragon main character.

Been looking for somebody to redo my FA avatar here and I can't make up my mind. May end up redoing it myself.

Also planning to make a t-rex dragon pic to show I don't have roos on the brain. That's what  Drake_Montana told me I have on the brain.

Finally, I've been idle something, my comic, on for over a year. It's moving again and I need to keep it moving.
