Sunny has been creeping and crawling around tail dragging and ears down all day. If a stranger came they would think I beat my dog. He didnt want to get up this morning, hes repeatedly asked to go outside only to stand in the grass. He has not pooped today either and requests for him to "got to the woods" e goes in then stands and pants. He did not get any more of the chicken stew as last night it gave him the flying shits. Its probably still got his stomachd tweeked too. I put him in his kennel with aonly a towel so if hes gotta pup he can poop on that.

Meds working now and sleep iss here, awake in 3rhs.

For those who don't read my regular journal, earlier this week I had to toss out about 15lbs of Sunnys food due to ants. Thankfully the co-op had the smaller 8lbs bags so I finally got one for him yesterday. But til then I had bought a can of Ultramix Chicken stew for him and he has fallen in LOVE with it. He got just the stew for 1 day and the next(yesterday) I mixed it with the dry. He ate the entire bowl and licked it clean. He got more of the same tonight. I am still leaving dry food down 24/7 and he does nibble on it. I just added more to his bowl and he gave me the "Didnt you forget something" look? He also now thinks the can is called "Chicken". I asked him if he wanted chicken and he sat up. I did give him a piece out of the can but he still thinks I should put more in his bowl. I think I will keep doing this a few days, He needs to add 3-4lbs and this may be the way to do it.

They are being gracious and offering free derp arts

So in another effort to get Sun out and atleast pee I asked him once again if he wanted to go out. No dice. He stayed in his bed and put his head down on his paws to accentuate his unwillingness to go out.
So I picked up the van keys and asked him again. He leaped out of his bed and trotted to the the door and waited for me to open it. Once out I headed for the van and he went straight to the side door and waited for me to open it.. I walked past the van and headed to the mail box telling him "lets go to the mailbox" He walked happily beside me out there and paused to pee on the tree beside the litle building of multitudes of pigeonhole boxes. SCORE!
When we headed back to the breezeway he again stopped by the van waiting to go. "Nope, not going no where". When we got back to my breezeway He went to the door tail wagging waiting for me. When I walked pase my door and headed out toward the back yard all wagging stopped, tail drooped, ears dropped and scaredydog was back. It was ok so long as he thought we were going for a ride. I got what I wanted tho so I let him back inside. More thunderstorms are headed in so there will be no hope of him going out tonight. I will be doing poo duty by morning, Im sure. Hes an old dog, Ill cut him some slack.

I caught Sunny chewing on his toe nails so I got him in my lap on his back so I could cut his nails. He HATES getting his nails done. With his toes being pink it makes doing the nails easy as I can see the quicks. Id clip a nail and give him a piece of frenchfry.
I used to pay petsmart to do it but they kept missing his dew claws and he was always in such a state of fear when I got him back I decided to get a good set of cutters and do it myself.

He and the cat are now chasing each other around the living room.

yes, yes he can.. When he has a sign for "I want". I tried to get Sunny out this afternoon to go potty and about halfway out of the breezeway it thundered. He raced back to the apartment door and promptly gave his "I want" sign. When I failed to follow him back to the door and was urging him to follow me he gave the sign again. Okay.. nope not getting him outside. So I let him back inside and he raced to hide in his kennel. Scaredy dog is scaredy.

His "I want" sign is the traditional beg sitting up pose. He usually gives it when he wants to go out of if he wants a treat,toy or when combined with a tongue lick, food/water.

Sunny is acting like I beat him. I suspect he peed in his kennel last night and hes being Mr. Guilty, tho I see no sign of him having an accident. He may have peed somewhere in the apartment where Gracie did while she was here and I just haven't found it. Either way hes slinking around, tail down, ears at half mast. He did perk up when I mentioned Walmart so I know its not him feeling bad physically. He acts like this when hes done something hes not supposed to, if it was him being ill he wouldn't even get out of his kennel.

I took Sunny out and he found a little baby opossum. It was so small I thought it was a rat to begin with. Thankfully Sun knows "leave the baby alone" and he did. He went up and sniffed it, it did the "Im dead" thing and Sunny came back to me. I brought him in, got my camera and went back out but couldn't find it.
I wonder where its mother was? It was too small to be on its own I think. Chances are one of the stray cats will end up getting it. I could use Sun to find it but I think letting nature take its course is the best way. Its mama may have come and gotten it and thats why I can't find it now.
