Pregnancy Update and Next Month...
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I'm over half-way!!! I have been for a few weeks now, I just haven't really gotten around to posting a new journal. For those interested, I'm 23 weeks pregnant. We don't know the gender - baby wouldn't uncross it's little legs so we couldn't find out. I'm starting to freak out a little. There's just so much to do and so little time and so little funds. The lack of funds for baby is slowly being remedied though! (mostly because I've been working my butt off trying to get commissions and enough money coming in to save for baby and pay our monthly bills. It's hard, but you guys are awesome and we are getting there).
Baby is growing well though and all it's vital organs are working and growing properly. Also, we can feel baby kick from the outside now, which is really cool ^-^ I'm also starting to show and I kinda feel like someone is blowing a ball up inside my stomach.
Just a heads up... next month I want to do a chibi mini-iron artist type thing. I'll be aiming to do 50 chibis for about $5 each (example). So if you're interested in something like that, keep an eye out. The bulk of the money from these will be put towards baby related items (baby clothing, maternity clothing, etc).
Otherwise, everything's going fine. I get tired earlier in the evenings that I used to, but it's ok. I'm rather enjoying curling up in bed early - especially now that the weather is finally turning winterly!

I feel really upset...
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
So I sold a blends frieze to a teacher who used to work with Mum (for those of you who don't know, I run a small-ish business making and selling teaching resources). That was fine, in fact, that was great. Heavens know we need the money at the moment to pay bills and save for baby. Well, I went away for the weekend and only just checked my e-mails this morning. In doing so, I discovered that said lady received her frieze, but was disappointed in the print quality. She thought the colours weren't as bright as they should be (they were. In fact, they're the exact same that I have done for every other frieze and everyone else has been happy with the quality of my printing).
I know I shouldn't be upset, but I am. I feel like it's an affront on how hard I work and try to produce products that are at a professional level and that are bright, colourful and eye catching. I've typed up my response, but haven't sent it yet (on the grounds that I probably should wait a bit, until I've calmed down enough). I've offered to do a second run for her (not that it will change anything and not that i can actually afford to send it out... gah.. i'm lucky, I have a heap of paper left to print it on) and baring that, I suppose, I will have to refund her. I've never had to refund someone before. Not even for a digital commission. It's such a weird feeling.
So yes, I'm upset more than I probably should be and it's probably down to being pregnant (of which I'm over half-way now and baby is being extreme in it's movements).

Animated Icons - Yay or Nay?
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
So.. I was considering opening to do animated icons again, but I was wondering what you all think. Should I? Yes? No? Maybe? Sideways? Would you guys be interested in buying one if I did? (They'd be around the $7 mark). If yes, what sort of animation should it be?
Also, I'm curious to know... animated bobble heads (like this, but better... http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6733532/ ) would anyone want one if I opened them up for commissions?

Fridge Died
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
So two things happened this morning. One, Maggie came back after being missing for a week. So that was all yays!! and now she's napping on our bed. We think she found a mouse nest and was cleaning it out because there's now a mouse inside.
Second was we discovered our fridge had died. Yup, dead. Thankfully we haven't lost much, but it's probably been dead for a couple of days. So this morning we had to go out a buy a new fridge. We put it on HP and there's some interest free on it. It's just ultimately frustrating as we couldn't really afford to buy a new fridge, but since it's one of those essential items, we kinda had to. So yeah... commissions are open =)

Bored - Ask me Stuff
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I'm stuck at the cottage waiting for Rak to finish working with his step-dad and I'm starting to get bored. There's only so much su-do-ko and music I can play before this happens.... So, ask me stuff. Replies may be slow as I'm using the iPad and my cellphone.

Move Successful
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
We're all moved into our new place now. It's just a matter of finishing up the unpacking and what not, so it may be a few more days before I get back into the swing of things.
On an unrelated side note... I discovered the local library. It is amazing.

Moving Schedule
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I'm moving next weekend, hopefully. Was meant to be this weekend, but I won't go into the long winded story, it'll only wind me up more about the situation and how difficult the in-laws are making this. So, because we're moving, I'll be packing boxes (with mandatory help from my two kitties (especially Pepsi, who adores anything she can climb in.. although I suspect she's sprained her paw, so maybe not...)).
However, due to pregnancy (and my lack of able to move heavy objects and what not), my rough schedule will be this:
Monday (tomorrow): 1 hour packing in the morning, 1 hour art (personal/trades/R&R), lunch, 1 hour art, 1 hour packing, more art/reading, usual evening chores
Tuesday - Thursday: Basically the same as Monday
Friday: Potentially babysitting (?) <-- this Rak is trying to get us out of, because we have stuff to do.
Saturday: Family function
Sunday: MOVING!!! (with luck.. i will go nuts if this doesn't happen)
So, I will be floating around. I have discovered I have to take frequent breaks, otherwise my body will bring back my morning sickness (and i hate throwing up, so this is not preferable).
I hope everyone's doing well. I'm so sorry for my lack of art. Been crazy busy and not feeling too flash hasn't helped. However, I'm hoping that once moved and set up again, I'll be able to get back into the swing of things.

My Art and RPing
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I can't believe I have to type this up, arg...
In regards to taking my art and using it for RP... NO! Just no. Don't do it. Nada. Go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect 200$.
Simply put, I am not comfortable with. The great bulk of my personal art is just that, personal. A lot of it is of Sunk and various other characters that represent me as a person. Some of the images are of my partner's characters and some of them are gifts for friends. Of course, some of my art is commissions, of which, unless the character is yours, then it's definitely not alright. If taken without permission, it is stealing and I do not condone that in the slightest.
On a brighter note, we move next week and when internet is all set up again, I will hold a raffle.

Pregnancy Update + Life
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
Yay! I'm officially in my 2nd trimester, now that I'm 13 weeks along. Morning sickness has subsided, but hasn't at the same time. Like, I still feel sick, just not to the same degree I did say a week ago. The downside to feeling better apparently is that my headaches have returned in full swing. I was rather enjoying not having the constant pounding that is oh too familiar, but I'm going to talk to my midwife about it next week when I see her for my check-up. (On a side note, there are many many things I recommend not throwing up, one of which is yoghurt.)
We had our first scan last week and saw our little spawn monster. It was so incredible and I just can't describe the feelings that happened at seeing our baby. It's indescribable.
We've changed our moving date until after Easter now and Mum will probably come down for a few days to help me pack while Rak goes and paints the inside of the house for us (currently it's 70's style decorating and yeah.... it needs updating). We see the landlord tomorrow and sign the papers and get the keys and all that jazz. Rak also had a job interview yesterday and we're very much hoping he gets it. It's quite a reasonable job. If he gets it (we'll hear back next week), he will be working for the vet service managing their dairy heifer scheme. Basically he'll be doing more yard work, but more or less the same as what he does now.
I hope everyone is well,

I think I might be sick
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm actually sick now and just don't have really bad morning sickness. There was a bug that went round Rak's Mum and step-dad and of course, he contracted it. It made them all have bad nausea and have a headache. However, I've been feeling like that since week 5 of my pregnancy (I'm currently 12 weeks tomorrow), but over the weekend it's just been so much worse. I've been feeling like I want to puke constantly (and did so twice on occasion, both times had blood in it, but nothing to be concerned about) and I can barely stomach any food and water/liquid. This is unusual for me because even though I've been feeling queasy for the better (or worse?) part of 7 weeks, I've been able to stomach food and water (and occasionally sprite or gingerbeer).
So yup. Gonna ring my midwife after posting this and see about some anti-nausea tablets, because honestly, it's the nausea that has been making my art slow. I find it hard to focus and wanting to puke all the time is just not fun. Art should pick up again when this bug passes and the nausea lessens somewhat.

Drought + Other Updates
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
Well the government has officially called the area I live in a drought, finally! And I mean finally. It's incredibly dry here right now. We currently only have two springs that haven't dried up, two dams, a couple of troughs and only quarter of a tank of water for the house. Thankfully, we haven't had to shoot stock (the market is so saturated at the moment, that cattle, sheep and lamb is worthless! We just sold 50 lambs (including the three I raised... so proud) and prices for lamb are only marginally higher than those of sheep. In other words, it's simply not worth sending them off and you can't let them die of dehydration) and we probably won't have to. However, it's not looking like it's going to rain for at least another month, if we're lucky. So yup... no water.. sucks balls trying to figure out what to do.
In other news... we secured the house and we move in sometime after the 20th of this month, perhaps sooner if Rak gets the job that he applied for last week. Pregnancy is a bitch. I'm very much over feeling sick all the time (and I mean, ALL THE TIME). I am also sick of people telling me that it's self-inflicted. It's not fun. I'm not completely in control of my moods and I feel like the next person who tells me that is either going to get screamed at, slapped up-side the head or have to face me breaking into tears. Also, I can't stand the thought of cutting meat. Can eat it and cook it, just not cut it. I dunno, I'll do a proper pregnancy update next week after my 12 week scan and when I'm not feeling so damn angry (which I don't even know why I am).
I'm sorry art's been so slow and I've been so journal happy lately. Pregnancy is knocking me for a six and FA is one of the few places that I can vent. I've been working, slowly, on my half of an FAEchange trade and a few other bits and pieces.
Hope everyone's doing well.

Porn Comic
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
So, I was going through my comic folders today (yes, I have many, many unfinished comics that I've never posted) and I came across my porn comic 'All Tied Up'. It's a comic between my two female characters Daisy (an African spotted dog) and Whisper (blue Russian domestic house cat) and you can imagine what it entails with it's title.
Anyway, I was wondering if a) you guys would like to see it or not and b) if yes, should I turn it into a donation comic?
It's approximately 7 pages long, so it's not very long. I would be using the money on the bond for the new place, so the pages will go up before I move (so, within three weeks).
Let me know what you think.

Non-Furry Art + Ask me stuff
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I was wondering if you guys would like to see some of my non-furry art? Most of it will probably be scenes from the book I'm currently writing (literally... I prefer to write my initial drafts on paper before typing them up. I find it easier to sort out the thoughts that they and it's the way I've been doing it for 10 years... so yeah...).
The images themselves will be fantasy based but two of the three main characters are human and the other is an elf. All three are magic users and I may put in a random dragon (not that Lynn and Jayro have encountered one... yet) just for fun.
Also, feel free to ask questions (about the characters, about the book, about me, etc...) ^-^

Baby Funds - $5 Pantsless Chibis
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
Since I want to try and raise as much money as possible before our baby arrives, I've decided to open for $5 chibis (with or without pants ^-^).
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9977955/
I'll only be taking a few at a time, but either comment below or note me if you would like one.

Ug. Life.
Posted 12 years agoHey...
Ug. Just ug. That really is how I'm starting to feel towards my mother-in-law at the moment. That and feelings of intense frustration and some anger.
I'm sure I have vented about this before, but I swear she's getting worse and worse. She tried to coerce Rak's brother into talking us into staying (he flat out refused since he understands the reasons behind us wanting to move AND then she tried it in front of them both). She was fine and left the subject alone for about a week (mostly because she tried on me and I accidentally burst into tears (which isn't hard in this pregnant hormonal jumble my mind is currently in)), but she's started up again.
It's like, yes we've heard your concerns and your reasons why, yes we have thoroughly thought it through, but no we are not staying. If it wasn't for the fact that we only (hopefully) have to put up with this for another month, I swear I'd snap and those who know me know I don't often snap. It's just so frustrating and annoying and I don't know what to do.
I've tried talking to her (well, i cried and had to explain why i was crying), but I know that if I try again and be blunt (like I want to), it'll just upset her. She'll start crying and get really upset and I honestly don't want to deal with that bullshit. It's bad enough that I have deal with this lot of 'you're leaving and I feel so abandoned' drama on top of not sleeping well, constantly feeling sick (and not really wanting to eat, despite knowing food would make it better), and generally dealing with being pregnant.
So yeah. Ug.

Potentially Found A New House
Posted 12 years agoHeya,
I can't believe we move in just over a month! It's crazy and been so crazy busy with people coming to visit. Isn't it interesting the amount of people who want to visit now that I'm pregnant, who didn't before? Also, the advice! OMG am I sick to death already of hearing about pregnancy advice and advice on how to raise children. The worst part is I know it's only gonna get worse when I start showing.
Anyway, we have potentially found a house to move into. It's HUGE! 6 bedrooms, two bathrooms, double story and very reasonably priced (like, in our price range, which is incredible). Hopefully we'll be able to go and look at it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I guess it depends on if they get the baler fixed and what not (for those interested, our square hay baler's axle broke this afternoon 1/3 of the way into a job), but it's not meant to rain for several days. So yeah, hopefully we'll be able to go.
So, I will doing be absolute best to make as much money as I can in the next 6 weeks (which is going to be tricky as I'm starting to find that I get tired very quickly) to help us move and in the next 6 and a half months to help buy baby things (all the tiny, tiny, tiny little socks!). By the end of the week, for those interested, I will have a re-useable puzzle book available for sale (ask for prices or more info if interested) and I will be opening up commissions and doing some good in-stream commission deals.
Otherwise, I'm doing fine. Hardly any morning sickness (which doesn't always strike in morning, normally strikes at about 9pm - 11pm). I've found lemons are helping immensely. Everything is normal and what not. Just struggling a little in this heat. 35+ degrees C is really not fun when your body temperature is higher than it usually is.
TL/DR: Found a new house to move into. Pregnancy going fine. Going to open commissions to raise money for baby and moving.

Puzzles
Posted 13 years agoHeya,
So, I've had a couple of ideas regarding puzzles.
The first one is a book (that can be re-used) full of puzzles. You will also be able to add more puzzle pages to it later. It will be 20 double sided pages and full of word finds, mazes, word fits and any other puzzles I come up with. The puzzles will have varying difficulties and the book will come in two sizes.
The second idea, which I'm not to sure about, is kind of a subscription type idea, where you pay x amount and once/twice a week you'll receive a puzzle in your inbox. However, I don't know how well people would go for this.
So.. give me your input? Yes? No? Maybe? Sideways? Would you go for that? Is this an absolutely terrible idea?

Puzzle Tester Wanted
Posted 13 years agoHeya,
I'm working on some puzzles for a non-FA related project. However, because I'm the one making the puzzles, I can't really test them effectively. I need some volunteers to do my puzzles and let me know how easy/hard they were to do. I'm aiming them at kids, so the words (they're just word puzzles for now) aren't too difficult.
Just lemme know and I'll link you to the puzzle(s) that I want tested.
Cheers,
~Sunk

Guilt Tripping (Vent)
Posted 13 years agoHey,
Ever since we told the boss (who is Rak's step-dad) that we are moving, Rak's mum has been trying to guilt trip the both of us into staying. There is one major reason why we want to move (which we had to tell Rak's boss, but he's been sworn to secrecy until we're ready to tell), and moving to the city is the best option for that reason.
It's just so frustrating to hear all these reasons/excuses (nearly all of which are selfish of Rak's Mum) as to why we should stay (without saying flat out 'i think you should stay because i feel that you are abandoning me' (which we're not. Rak's mum has some issues, i think)). I just want to scream at her that we're moving because it's the best decision and even not, she shouldn't be trying to impede upon our lives quite so much. If Rak worked for any other person, we would not be getting this level of drama about leaving.
It's not like we're leaving in the middle of the contracting season OR in the middle of the calf season. No. We're leaving at Easter. This means, Rak's still there to help out and finish this contracting season and will help prepare the farm for winter, but will not be there when the calves start coming in for feeding.
ARUGAGAGAUAG!!!!! It's just frustrating. I will probably delete this journal at some point when I calm down.
On a side note: word searches get tedious after spending four hours making them.

Officially Moving
Posted 13 years agoHeya,
The decision has been officially made with the boss and Rak and I will be moving house around Easter. We'll be moving further south of where we are now (about a two hour drive) and a really good friend of ours will be moving in with us too. Several things have factored into this decision; one of the major ones being that Rak is unhappy in his current job situation (a lot of hours + not a lot of money + quite a bit of drama + lack of given time to do his actual job (which I've ended up doing this summer) = one unhappy black panther). He wants a join the police force, which I think is awesome and am giving him my full support to do so. There are other major factors as well, but I don't want to get into them.
I'm kinda excited. It means more options for everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) and I'm going to be closer to my paper supplier, so I'm not going to be forking out $20 for postage and so all my R&R customers will benefit! We'll be moving into a bigger house, so I'll more than likely have my own dedicated art studio/craft/sewing room. This means I will probably be doing more physical mediums again. To top it all off, I'm going to be living with two of my favorite people!
However, since we live month to month (Rak gets paid monthly), it's gonna be a bit difficult for us to save up to move. So, I will be opening commissions officially this coming Monday. I will most likely be doing a commission sale too! So keep an eye out.
It's gonna be interesting moving all our stuff, plus our two cats. But, we'll manage. It's for the better and will be exciting and fun.

Happy New Year + Things to come in 2013
Posted 13 years agoHey
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fun new years eve and such. Mine was pretty good, even though our original plans got thrown in the works due to Rak having to work, yesterday, today and pretty much all summer (blarg! the joys of being with a hay and silage contract worker, I suppose).
This year is going to mark some pretty big changes and I have some big and (maybe, depends on who you are) awesome ideas and projects that I would love to launch.
1. A Comic. Yup, I'm gonna try this... again... some of you may recall my comic Fox Fire (found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6089163 ). Well, depending on the interest (or how I feel), I may revamp and re-start it. The other comic idea I had was Sunk's origins (yes, she has them ^-^), but I don't know how much interest would be in that. Either way, sometime around June, I will start posting a comic on a, hopefully, regular basis.
2. Commissions. I would love to get more of these and I have some neat ideas that hopefully people will like. I am also going to start taking beaded commissions and when I get the hang of making chain-mail, I will do commissions of those as well.
3. Rhymes and Reasons. This is my business outside of the fandom and I shall be doing a lot of work on this (at least half my working time will be on R&R). If R&R takes off more, I will be doing less commissions. Ideally, I would love to do the odd commission here and there and the bulk of my income will be from the business.
4. Regular streams. I want to start streaming at least once a week. In the streams I will probably do freebies (not all the time, so keep an eye out) and special commission deals (up to 75% off depending how I feel) that I will only accept when I'm streaming.
I hope that 2013 will be a better year for everyone and that you're all not too hung over from new years eve!
