Posted 12 years agoso, as a few of you know, I find myself in a position to open a fine arts gallery...I have Mursa Artdragon helping me with some things, and will have him critique works I am jurying into the gallery. its called the Winslow gallery, after the man who built the building in 1906, and was formerly Haus Winslow B&B...my moms house. I have decided to allow a small amout of furry art into the gallery at times, but it has to be really good, and meet specific criteria, if youd like to submit work, note me links and Ill review it. tentetive rates are $40 per month for an 8 foot wall space, and a 15% comission to the gallery on any sales. shipping of art is artists responsibility, as well as insuring your own work is your responsibility. any work to be displayed must either be framed or otherwise appropriatly finished for presentation. gallery is set to open within the next few months...I have begun accepting work and planning for shows begining in September.

Posted 12 years agoso, Jaws has resurfaced...and is back to eating everything in the house, and shop...
I had reason to put everyone in the shop, while I went to Montana with my dad, and while we were gone, "someone" chewed on a nearly empty bottle of 2 cycle oil I had. you all know its dyed blue...and I mean BLUE, so, not sure who it was that ate the oil and bottle...the next day I got my answer. after finding and picking up puddles of BLUE poo, that made a trail across the yard, getting more solid as they went, I got a glimpse of someones butt....a normally white butt...that was stained blue. and on coming home today found a wood coaster chewed to bits....Daisy, or Jaws, is at it again.
Ive been wanting to get pics of Squeaks....she is more adorable then ever, with her ears all fluzzy...and stadning up. she looks like a foxy sorta thing.

Posted 13 years agoDash very quietly stole my roll of TP while I was showering this morning...I heard something, Dash got up on the toilet, and took it off the counter..I looked out of the shower and saw him, he tried to sneak out of the room with it...
I yelled at him, and he dropped it....so Dasiey took it, went and got onto the bed and started gnawing on it, when I was dry nuff, i went in and bopped her on the head with it and told her no...oh my gosh did she look crushed.

never know who will walk in
Posted 13 years agotoday I was at the gallery, doing my shift, and someone walks in, looks around carefully, picks out a scarf, and comes up finally to "pay"...gift certificate. so, in chatting, I ask if I may put her name on the paper...and it turns out to be McManus...his daughter, but still, I asked if, and she said why, yes, thats my dad.
Patrick McManus is a writer of humor, such as "They Shoot Canoes, Dont They?" and "A Fine and Pleasent Misery"....and here I had his daughter in front of me...she really liked my anthro portrait paintings, and asked if I may be interested in doing paintings of the characters from some of the stories her dad wrote, for an upcoming calandar....of course I said yes. there was much more and interesting chat, but thats the most interesting for here.

book
Posted 13 years agoso, my gallery and I are looking into offering a book of work that can be found at the gallery, and Im considering doing my own in addition to theirs. would anyone like a book of my work? a nice sized full colour book, bout $25 or ....thats a guess, as I dont have the estimate back yet. may come down. preorders note me or answer here and Ill write ya down, and youll get a signed copy, soon as I know the price and shiping.
the pups are having a blast with dad, and he is back. they gang up on him, run him down and he runs around them...been a blast watching them play...Squeaks reared up and grabed dads head once when he leaned in to sniff at her, he backed up fast and tried to shake her off, but she clung to him pretty good for a sec, then Daisy ran up and attacked him from behind, made him jump straight up. this is happening all the time outside now...they get all over the yard, and chase him around...I love my puppies...

LOL
Posted 13 years agomy current 0500 jaunt outside with a basket of puppies was made more entertaining this morning...dispite the rain and wind, no sooner then they hit the ground, they all did their thing, but, when done, went after dad. so, imagine this...dad at a fast walk across the yard, with three abreast pups almost keeping up at a near run. he tried to get away from them, wasnt in a play mood, but they are all suddenly fast enough to keep up now unless he runs.
the basket is no longer working either, its become harder to keep them in, for their own safety, then before. last night Squeaks managed to launch herself out as I was setting it down, and tipped over landing on her head on the concrete. that hurt me as much as her, and she had a strange exspresion for a minute, turning and wrinkling her face to one side. now all three try to get out at the same time in three directions, its a game to them, but not funny to me. time for a different mode of transport till they can manage stairs better. its getting harder to pick em up as a group now too, my back lets me know.
mom is still occasionally allowing them to nipple, but thets getting more rare, and shes denying them alltogether sometimes, in between, they GOBBLE up anything I give them, in small amounts, several times during the day. pretty much, when they go out, they get a nibble as well.

night time adventures
Posted 13 years agoso...Ive begun the grueling process of potty training, in addition to weaning, and they are all going when I take them out, right away, then they explore, so, doing good there. my "bus" however...the box I transport them out and in with, is seeing some degradation, and I had fun at 0 dark thirty this morning, getting them to stay in it long enough to get past the bed.
heres what happened...lil boy starts yelping as he does, when he hears Buddy hop off the bed, and I had to refill the water for him. mom, ignored him, and I let her this time...as we are weaning, and they were fed not long before. everything gets quiet finally, and an hour later or so, now its time to go out. so, I get up, partly dress (its cold out) and start scooping up wriggling lil fuzzies, into a box that is partly deconstructed, by same. soon as I pick it up, and start swinging past the bed...Squeaks hops out and does a flying faceplant on the bed, shes all happy with herself and romps in circles. meanwhile, as I set down the box to catch her, the other two leak out and take off across the covers in different directions....this ensues about 8 minutes of scoop one, another leaks out, arm in another, catch escapee, reach for next escapee....repeat. Im sure it was quite comical, I wasnt impressed by the time I just leaned over and covered the box with my chest to prevent more escape attempts, and just yanked the box up and ran out the door, hoping no one would fly out again....everything was peachy after that, they hit the ground outside, scattered in three directions, they did their thing, back inside, they curled up, passed out, squeaked occasionaly....
they got to nipple mom again later, then we went out without any antics, and morning progressed as usual. I put a bowl of water in for them and they all promptly stepped in it, then as quickly drank from it, so they figured that out fast...and a small plate of kibble, vanished with some rapidity.

theyre ready
Posted 13 years agolast couple days, ive been tossing the errent dry kibble or two into the nest with the pups...and they alwasy dissappear. today, not only do I have everyone peeing outside, but they managed the stairs and GOBBLED up the tiny bits of food I offered them. so, Ill begin weaning them now I guess...much to moms appreciation Im sure.
week 4.5
Posted 13 years agowell, pups are getting around really good, took em outside for their first time today, dropped em each in a lil snow pile. they were fine with the snow, but didnt like mom bein out of sight, and stayed glued to my feet, except for the lil brown one, she was wandering around a lil, but never too far from me. the black n white one, Ive been calling her Daisey...she earned a new nick name, every time I try n pet her, on the head, or back, she sits up and pushes her muzzle into my palm and tries to bite me, playfully...so, she has been dubbed...jaws. they all run around like mad and pounce on each other, unless I put my fat hand in there, then they all run over and lick or bite me, and rub against my hand. the brown one, I had been calling squeakers, she seems to be the most adventursome, and wags her tail when I reach in. Daisey is the most dommie one, and the boy....he still just whines alot, but is playing more with the grrls, although they gang up on him. he is now holding his own...

Posted 13 years agoI ran Bloomsday again this year, http://www.bloomsdayrun.org/ , last year in a snowleopard fursuit, this year in a G shep fursuit....dunno if I improved my time, but I took fewer breaks this year.
almost 8 miles in a full fursuit, on a timed "run" (I walked fast), with a couple murderous hills, ones called doomsday hill, for good reason. thats what I did on sunday...

lame movies
Posted 13 years agook, so I finally sat down to watch Alpha and Omega....seriously??! I got less then 10 minutes into it and its...unwatchable. what a horrible POS...I agree with Mursa about the defying of physics, and all the lame characters with strange art and blocky motion, and then theres the sonic hedgehog moves of the totaly gratuatisly sexual "alpha" grrl. best part of the 10 minutes I watched..was of her walking away from the "camera", and the overly long veiw of her butt. way too much for kids, but I see why furrys liked it if theres much of that in there.
