This brings back memories, and I will probably be using it for my 2D games, too.
Speaking of memories, "Superbird And The Quest For Something" was originally a 2D side scroller I made in Game Maker and just kept adding to it until the save time became unbearable XD
This engine splits it until multiple files so I hope it'll be more bearable <3

Updates on the new job
Posted 4 years agoSo I've only been there a little over a month, but I'm already being told I'm doing an amazing job and I'm the fastest/most accurate on Order Intake. It's also full time so I'm making more money than I did at Publix and the work is way less miserable. Not only do I get to sit in front of a computer all day, I don't have to work until 11 am and I get to listen to music while I work.
They are talking about increasing my responsibilities already. Basically I'd save the people next in the queue a step where I type a more exact exam code (like instead of "MRI Pending" I'd put in "MRI of the foot") but we haven't done that yet.
Really enjoying it there. Also I can afford to hire artists here and there, but I only have a couple of hours after work to mess around and on weekends my family visits.
So I've got the computer I want, the job I want....now I just need to find the boyfriend I want. :D

Posted 5 years agoSo my brother did this promotional trial which resulted in him getting a $500 gift card for ebay. He decided to spend that money on computer parts so I could finally have a computer good enough to run the latest games and Steam VR.
He got all the parts except the CPU and the case (ran out of money), but my mom and a friend of mine chipped in for those parts. So now we're just waiting for the last piece.
Oh. And even though I already had a good hard drive lying around, he bought me a 2 TB drive with a higher RPM speed than my 1 TB. So we replaced almost every piece I had lying around.
I can't wait to get Accounting For Violence up and running...but after that I might play around with the Steam VR library and make the three of those guys a little playroom.

A funny story from an online game
Posted 5 years agoSo like, I was playing Among Us today, and every emergency meeting when someone was killed by the imposter, I said "I'm the imposter." First time I tied with someone else, but second time someone said "I think Davidi is the imposter because he keeps saying he is but I'm not sure".
Anyway, on the third wave I was voted the imposter and was shot out into space, but I wasn't really so the game said "Davidi was not the imposter" and then on the fourth emergency meeting I said "I still think I'm the imposter."
The real imposter was caught on the 4th meeting and the game was over.
I should probably start playing the game for real but I really wanted to try that first XD

Posted 5 years agoI was attempting to make a VR game that would get you a ton of exercise. You pick up a sword and an axe and beat up monsters.
Once I got around to testing it though, I found it spazzed a lot, even after re-running calibration. So I went to the FAQ to see if I was doing something wrong.
I was. You have to be standing 2 meters away from the base station MINIMUM (6.5 feet). My game requires 10 feet of square space, which means a total of 16.5 feet.
We only have about 12 feet.
....actually as I'm typing this, I realize I could just make the virtual room smaller.

Update on the Nolo CV1
Posted 5 years agoOkay, so I emailed support on the rendering bug and they told me they don't support ARM64, so I should use ARM7 instead. Hopefuly ARM7 is 64-bit compliant, because if it's not, I won't be able to post my games on Google Play.
Whatever the case, it half-works now. By half works I mean it runs on mobile, I can move the buts, but for some reason I can't seem to turn off head tracking.
What is head tracking? Well, there's where it tracks the position of the headset so you can physically walk around a 5 foot radius. I only plan to make one game that uses that feature; the rest I want you standing/sitting still and moving around with the trackpad.
As for the one game where you physically walk around, it'd be an arcade game where you walk around in a hollow cylinder and beat up enemies with swords. Sometimes you'll have to throw the swords, and sometimes you'll have to duck or jump to avoid being hit by projectiles. Basically it'd be a lot of exercise.
But for now I have to figure out how to get head tracking off.
