2020 life update & projects

I hope you're all staying safe despite everything going on right now. It can be rough, but it'll pass. Just hang in there!
I figured with a lot of stuff going on in my life, it might be time for another journal here again. I just started with my rather early summer vacation, being off now with some exceptions until the end of June. Come autumn, I'll be moving to working part-time and starting my Master's degree studies back in Jyväskylä.
It will be interesting trying to balance out both social life, work and then studies. I'll still try and keeping working on stuff like the narration project I have going on with Rukis's book Heretic. While a lot of work (each chapter currently taking me probably closer to 5-10 hours from start to finish), it has also proven very rewarding and fun. I hope I'll manage to shorten that time a lot further still, meaning I might be able to move through it more quickly, but with the whole point of this project being learning I suppose being slow with it is all but expected. It's been super encouraging and motivating hearing all of your feedback on it (both on FA and elsewhere), so do keep that coming!

Life update + 2019 retrospective

For me, it was quite the ride of a year. I was thinking I'd sorta go through and recount some of the things that happened, but I can't shake feeling like it coming across as that overly polished humblebraggy "look at how awesome my life is" sorta thing so typical to social media. That is not my intention.
However, as general update, last January I started working at my current job. The next month following that I moved to a different city for that job. It's been an interesting experience, sort of starting entirely anew somewhere else, yet still at the same time not really. Fast forward a bit, right around my birthday in Autumn, I finally graduated with my bachelor's degree. I still have the option of going back to studying and doing a master's, but right now in both short and long term the benefit to it if I keep doing what I'm doing is questionable. Luckily, I am not in an immediate rush to have to make that decision.
Okay, that's with the immediately boring irl background stuff. Big changes, right! What else happened? I did quite a bit of traveling across the year. Some of it for fun, some of it for work. Some highlights of those I'd say (outside of con trips) were definitely China and Poland. When it comes to conventions and furry events, this year had a good few - it started with Furvester in Germany where I was invited, followed by Northern Lights Furdance & Animals@Play, FinFur Animus and Eurofurence.
On the non-furry front I went to a lot of different concerts and shows: Devin Townsend, Soen, Wheel, Poets of the Fall, Vesterinen Yhteyineen and some others. I finally let go of my old Mazda that I'd been driving since getting my license in 2013, dubbed the Coonmobile, and got myself a bit newer Hyundai that found the name Coonmobile 3.0. ...and let's not talk about the 2.0.
When it comes into hobbies, DJ'ing I've kept up relatively actively. I played at a good few events as well as in Second Life. Photography, aside from being in charge of that side of things at Animus, I've not done too much on, but I did shoot and edit a couple work related video projects I'm quite happy about. New old things I've been getting back into are both historical fencing/HEMA and hitting the gym regularly. Those, and of course Beat Saber, have been keeping me in pretty okay fit. I could shave off a kilo or few, but all in all I am feeling quite good about where I'm at.
I've also had the pleasure of forming many new and close friendships this year. I consider myself extremely privileged to have the people around me that I do. I'm not going to list anyone here because this is not a contest, but you know who you are. I appreciate and value you immensely.

Procrastination journal & Happy New Year!
General | Posted 9 years agoNow, the real question is whether it's this journal I've been procrastinating making, or if I'm procrastinating something else with this journal.
Now that I have most of my upload queue emptied, maybe I finally ought to do a journal as well to go through some of the things that happened in 2016 as well as to give some life updates and such ^^
I think the whole year in general was quite the ride for me. It's definitely had its ups and downs, but especially towards the end of it, things've been going towards a really good direction. I made a ton of new friends, as well as got to know better some of the ones I was already acquainted with. In no particular order Verdonia, Koyotesu, Panin, FoxAmoore & Osfer just to name a few, but you know who you are - thank you all for being an inspiration and making the year special to me! <3
The past year I also attended a lot of conventions - first Nordic FuzzCon in March, Finfur Animus during the summer, followed by Eurofurence in autumn - all of which were wonderful experiences. The coming year I'll be attending and working at in both NFC and Animus, but I am still slightly on-the-edge about Eurofurence. I might just be able to squeeze it in financially, but I would love to try some other conventions as well - perhaps Confuzzled or CessFur. The registration for EF is starting very soon, so I'll have to come to a decision quickly. We'll see!
I think I've made a lot of progress with improving my photography during the whole of past year and I'm finally starting to feel comfortable about my skills being where I'm currently at. That being said, there's still certainly a lot of room for improvement and that's something I want to keep on striving at.
Life's not all sunshine and roses though, and there's been lot of realizations I've made about myself as well this year. There are definitely some things I both need to and want to work in myself. Making decisions more up-front and not leaving stuff pending is among others definitely a big one on that list. I've also committed myself to taking better care of myself physically (and mentally), meaning fixing myself a better sleeping rhythm and eating better. Working out and exercising is something I intend to do as well, but it's one of those things you should never promise yourself, since doing that makes you feel like you've actually taken steps towards accomplishing it while they're just words.
That's about that though, thank you for reading! Did you make any New Year's resolutions/commitments? What were your highlights for 2016?

First of all, thank you everyone for the utterly wonderful convention, I had a blast <3
This was a convention of a lot of firsts for me; I held my first panel, I entered (and won!) my first dance competition, I "worked" as a photographer for the first time in a convention and on top of all that, we hosted an amazing roomparty with Verdonia during the last night. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
I do not have a recording of the panel, but here is an annotated PowerPoint in case you missed it: .pptx, .pdf)
I took part in the dance competition with a mix of Stephen's "Line It Up" and ended up just barely taking it home with me. Shared second place were TwistedPherret and Hohtosusi whom both were just amazing. Also I gotta give a massive shoutout to Verdonia for helping and putting up with me as we worked on the coreography starting at about an hour and a half to the beginning of the competition (...the coreography which I then ended up forgetting after the first 20 seconds and just going with it anyways). You rock, dude.
Overall I am really glad with how the group shots turned out. Guiding the around 100 or so people went smoothly and I enjoyed myself while doing it. The only regret I have is not having been able to get in suit and into the floor myself ^^
After the con was over I, Vilvi, Gaikotsu and Verdonia headed back to Jyväskylä, where we had sauna and Zootopia screening party with some other local furs on Tuesday. Wednesday came and Verdonia left back to Sweden, after which I left to Tampere to spend the midsummer with some other awesome fuzzies.
Aaaand with that, I suppose that's that. I'll make another journal as I get the con photos done and online, ETA a week or two.

Seriously though, check them out. The place is still in beta, but Rome wasn't built in a day either. The half a year I've been there, a lot of input on what's working and what's not has been given, heard and a ton of improvements based on that been made - I really think they are doing things right when it comes to that. You can find me over there as @Supi should you feel like that - since the site actually has a proper division between photos and more traditional artwork, I've uploaded a chunk of fursuit photos of me there already. ALL OF THAT HAVING BEEN SAID, I have no reason to dramatically leave FA. It is, and most likely will be, still my go-to site when it comes to following the more "traditional" artists and having my up-to-date contact details up nicely.
I've always felt a little bit awkward about posting photos to FA. Both those by others of me, as well as those by me of others. With my current gallery having grown quite a bit the past year or so, I might actually go ahead and make a separate account for the latter at some point in the near future, but I'll see about that and "announce" it properly later should I end up following through with it.

My last few weeks after the con have been at times hectic with first being ill for a while after the con, and then going on a small roadtrip the very next weekend - followed by starting to catch up with all the things left undone in my normal life. Alas, things are starting to slowly normalize now.
I am super glad I got to know such a lot of new amazing people during the convention. I'd heard a lot of good about the con from past years and as it turns out, all of that was true. Thank you for making it a truly wonderful experience <3 I will do my best to make it next year.

I am still debating on wether I should post some of the best ones in my gallery, but I don't know. Opinions?
On a completely separate note! There's going to be a meet-up at a coffee house in my city every month from now on (hopefully!). If you are interested, check the thread on finfur forums! While the thread is "under my name" I in no way want to steal the credit for the concept x3 vilvi did an awesome job more or less completely organizing the first one last month, so some major props to him ^^

General | Posted 11 years agoIt's been a while since the last journal, so just letting you all know I'm still alive~
The largest finnish roleplaying/anime/whatever convention Tracon starts tomorrow and I'll be working there as security! Just so happens my shift is from 00-08 am between saturday and sunday, so I'll need to think about how to time my sleeping so that I won't be missing absolutely everything on both days and yet be functional. ^^'
I'll try to hang out with other furs and see old pals and new muzzles as much as possible -- I will have my badge on me, so if I go by without noticing you, do say hi! :3

I've moved out -- I have a shared flat a walking/cycling distance away from the centre of Jyväskylä. The place isn't big or modern, but houses this 'coon plenty well. If you're around send me a message and maybe we can meet? :3
I've got drivers licence and (my first road legal) car -- sign me up for motorfurs! It's a 1996 Mazda 323F. Wannabe sporty and all!
I've been to the defence forces -- If you know me personally, you might have heard me talk about the reasons why I decided to switch to civillian service instead. (Starting this summer, btw!)
I've started studying at University -- Majoring in Computer science, although I might change to Information system science at some point.
I've been with my lovely asylumm for almost a year <3
aaand I've got to know some epic people -- both furs and non-furs.
That's about it. For now. I think.
Feel free to ask anything or just say hi :3 Saying hi would be nice.

I had an interesting talk yesterday about weather it's "Single awareness day" or a celebration of love. Too often it seemes to be to be shouting "Hey everyone look, I've got a boy/girlfriend!" instead of showing some real appreciation towards your close ones. *shrugs*
I'm single so I don't have to worry about that sort of stuff. I don't really mind all that so I guess it's fine.
I thought I'd do at least something in good spirit and write this just to say that whoever you are reading this, deep down you're probably a nice guy (or a girl, for the matter) and I wish you well. :3

I've been for a while now wanted to get more connected with fellow furs and figured this would be an awesome way for that. I've had twitter for personal and professional (if I can really even say so) stuff for couple of years now, but on this account I'll try to feel a lot less pressured to proofread all my tweets five times before posting them and just let loose more often.

General | Posted 13 years agoHey guys, it's 2013! (or well, there's still some hours left of this year for me, but it's 2013 for someone!)
I just wanted to say that my year 2012 has been awesome, and that I hope the next year will be even more so. After the first couple months of 2013 I'll hopefully have most of my high school courses done so that I can chill a little, maybe meet up some local furs and just overall relax myself a little more.
Am I going to make any new years resolutions? Probably not, because I know that I wouldn't keep them anyways. Are you?

I've been away from the furry community for a while, but I'm trying to do a comeback. Tons of stuff have been going on in my life both study- and spare time wise, and it's been getting harder and harder to find some time for myself. That, and I'm lazy to get anything done. No getting around that.
Aaaanyways. I hope you guys had awesome Christmas and got tons of nice presents and chocolate. Maybe even a real nice hug :)
I didn't get a hug (sadface), but ironically enough a book by Nietzsche, some noms and tons of underwear and socks. Is that a sign of getting older? I promised I'd treat myself with a portal themed t-shirt and coffee mug but then ended up realizing that the postal costs from the US to here would have been about one third of the price. Maybe not, then. I'll probably end up getting myself a new pair of headphones or something.
