I've been spending a lot more time on Bluesky than Twitter lately. Even in such an early stage, it's a much better place for artists. I get MORE engagement on my art than I do on Twitter despite having about 10% of the followers. That's RIDICULOUS.

I'm taking a crack at Kinktober again this year! This time I'm doing a more limited number of YCH sketches rather than the 31 pieces I tried to do back in 2022, and it's going a LOT smoother, so thank you to the folk who have already jumped in and claimed a slot.

You can claim a single spot in one of these sketches for $30 or grab an entire pose at once. Complex characters with wings, armor, accessories etc are an extra $5.

I'd MUCH prefer people claim a whole set at once, it makes things so much easier, so I will definitely prioritise people who are able to claim a complete set.

Finally, I'll take any excuse to draw my own characters more often. So, if you'd like to include one of my chars in a pose - Supki, Femme Supki, Alabaster, Oya, etc - I'll take 10% off the total price of the sketch. For example, putting one of my gals in the middle of the Spitroast pic would drop the price from $90 to $81 USD.

About five weeks back I finally took on a new role teaching high school. This is great, because for the first time in two years I'm able to keep the lights on without going into debt. But as anyone who has been a teacher knows, the job goes from 8am-8pm Mon-Fri and then most of the weekend, too (that is, if you care about doing it right). This means I haven't had the time or mental energy to even pick up my iPad in more than a month.

To my commissioners waiting for overdue work, thank you for your patience and udnerstanding. I promise I will dive back into art as soon as I'm able. The school term ends in 3 weeks, and I'll be spending my holidays smashing out every piece of work I owe.

Welp, I finished my poll and the people have spoken. If I'm taking on Kinktober this year, I'll be limiting it to 11 prepose sketches with the following themes:

If you're thinking, "Wait, did everything get more expensive?" the answer is kind of but also no.
- My old $20 "sketchy" tier is gone. Nobody wanted those very very loose pics, and I didn't enjoy drawing them as much anyway.
- My old $50 "nice sketches" tier is now cheaper, at $30. I've gotten faster at these & better at controlling my time, so the price change reflects that.
- The new $60 "clean & detailed" tier is what I was often doing for clients without being asked. I was going into a perfectionist headspace and spending 3, 4, or 5 times as long as planned on making a sketch into something very clean and crisp. That's silly! It also led to delays while I achieved a level of detail clients never asked for. So now, I'm making that into a proper tier of its own.

I'd really appreciate some doodles, because that tax bill of mine has been finalised at $7800 AUD ($5150 USD) including fees and my account is 100% empty. Welp, joblessness has caught up with me. It's tax season in Australia, and I've been hit with a bill for $7200 AUD (around $4620 USD). Problem: I have no steady income.

The first and most obvious solution is to abandon my freelance life and get back into the regular job-hunt, which I'm gonna do. But in the meantime, I'm hoping to draw for y'all.

My regular commissions are open, as I've completely cleared my queue. Also, over the next few days I'll be sharing a pinup YCH set as well as a more explicit kink-themed YCH set, which I hope you'll all enjoy. I've been back into the groove of drawing for a couple months now and am really loving the looser, more natural and expressive work I can achieve in Procreate... plus, doing life drawing every day has also bumped up my anatomy skills. I'd love to put those into practice for y'all by taking one or two quick sketch commissions at $50 a pop.

It took two-and-a-bit years, 12 months of wrist rehab and an expensive switch from a classic Wacom to an iPad & Procreate so I could work more ergonomically, but it's done. My very, very overdue commission queue is complete. My sincere and profound thanks to all my commissioners, who were so patient and understanding. Y'all are awesome.

I was making so much art at the beginning of the month, and then... silence. So, what happened to Kinktober?

In short - a flare-up of my carpal tunnel syndrome. I thought I had it beat because it'd been quiet for so long. I was wrong. I'm currently unable to draw or even use a keyboard for more than half an hour at a time. It sucks.

I will be waiting for this flare-up to fade - another week or so, hopefully - then resuming commissions at a more measured pace. I apologize for this delay, and any commissioners who needed their pic completed in October and now want a refund only need to ask.

I loved drawing for Kinktober back in 2019. Now I'm dusting off my tablet, getting back into art and taking the plunge by doing Kinktober again this year!

I explained in a previous journal why my Kinktober commissions aren't done yet, but in short - my day job is horrible and sucks me dry. Good news: next week is my final week!

So, beginning next weekend:

2) finish the unclaimed Kinktober slots with my own characters (unless anyone wants to grab them)
3) draw for you fine folk every day.

As such, I'll be formally reopening for commissions in late Dec to early Jan, by which time I hope my entire outstanding list will be done. Thank you all for your patience!

So a month and a half ago I opened up a Kinktober commission list, aiming to complete one kinky sketch per day throughout October. And a lot of you good folk supported me by commissioning kinky pieces and encouraging me along the way.

I've fallen way behind, and I just want to explain why and say thank you to everyone for your patience.

Essentially, I'm super overworked. I'm a part-time worked (4 days a week) but I usually do 50-60 hours a week to get all the shit done that needs to get done. I was told that, at the beginning of October, a lot of those extra unpaid duties would vanish and I'd be back to regular hours again.

So I took on all these commissions in the expectation that I'd have some free time in Oct aaaaaand...

My boss, true to their word, took away all the extra duties. Then they said, "Now that you have SO MUCH FREE TIME, you can complete this research paper for us!"

So. I'm back to 50-60 hours a week while being paid for 32. I'm fitting in commissions wherever I can. Also, I'm quitting this job in December.

Thanks for sticking with me. Hope you're enjoying the drip-feed of Kinktober pieces!

Rules are simple: $20 per character, and I'll draw as many chars as you can fit in the frame. You can give me a brief theme but everything else is up to me. No tweaks aside from obvious character design errors. Work will be simply coloured and shaded as per the example above. Turnaround within the next few weeks, as I'm working a lot in my real person job.
