Envy, longing, dissatisfaction (and other girly thoughts)
General | Posted 3 months agoHi there cuties. This is Surprise! the fox with a mid-year life update. I'd like to share with you some personal things I've been working on in therapy.
You might not know but I'm a person who experiences a lot of envy, specifically, towards artists and creators who are famous and successful on doing art that resembles what I do. Also, I envy people who I consider more attractive that me. Finally, I envy people who seem to have a better understanding of their own sexuality, and who live their sexual life with plenitude and fullness. Basically, I get really emotional when I find a topic that I cannot fully grasp, but others do with ease. I know this is a matter of perspective and how I value my own accomplishments, but it's quite hard for me sometimes to put a light on my personal achievements. In my mind, they occupy so little space and the things I "do not have yet" occupy A LOT of space. That's the tricky part.
I've been feeling a deep longing for a life-partner. I'm sure many of you feel the same way. A longing for someone to share life with, who will caress us softly and say words of affirmation into our ears. One must be patient to find the right someone, but lately I've been feeling desperate. Impatient. I don't know how to manage this feeling. And, on top of it, I have very high standards for any potential mate. I don't think that's bad per se, but it means that I have to be both patient and constant in the look for a boyfriend. My doctor always says that joy should come from the search, not the finding.
I have this thing where after a particularly hyped and exciting day, I get into an emotional slump and I feel down the next few days. This started to happen only recently. I know it's impossible to have only "highlight days", that there are regular days and bad days on everyone's life, but how I wish it to be only happy days. Sometimes, after a particularly joyous moment, I wish I could save my progress, exit my save file and then never play again, so that the joyous moment is the last thing that exists in my game. I'm sorry if I'm making you blue, I'm just venting out.
I believe my life is good and that I am quite privileged in regards of my possibilities. The problem comes when my mind decides to make me feel deeply dissatisfied and lonely. Do I think it is fair? No. Do I know what the cause is? Social media, my upbringing, my culture, my own perception of the world, the government, who knows? The important part here is that I am in a constant pursue of understanding my mind, being kinder to it and, through therapy and other tools, becoming a better me, not anyone else, which has always been the point.

Life Update
General | Posted 10 months agoHello cuties. How are you doing? I wanted to hop in and give you some insight of what’s going on in my foxy life.
First and foremost, I have a day job once more! No longer an unemployed fox! After being out of work for 6 months now, it’s a huge relief to finally have a stable income TwT. I’m making some visuals for the government of my city. Not complaining though as I get to work within my field. My goal is to save enough money to finally move out. But I miiight invest some of it on my content creation too!
Second, I’m currently in the search for love! 😍 Seems fitting to talk about this given the month. I’m going on dates and putting myself out there. And I can excitedly say that, to this day, there is more than 1 (one) prospect on my horizon. My confidence and self-esteem has grown a lot over the past years and I believe this is a sign of it. I do really dream of finding the correct person and sharing a life together… we’ll just have to see how things unfold.
Lastly, I’m currently thinking about making more content in the format of Youtube Shorts. Not only they are the most consumed form of media nowadays (and a struggling artist got to adapt), but I actually have many ideas for thoughts, opinions, animatics, memes and fursuit moments I wanna try out. This doesn’t mean I will stop making digital art (I honestly cannot imagine myself without drawing what’s in my mind) I just might put some more focus on videos and not on finished drawings.

The site is back online. I’m so relieved!! In the case you are unaware of the current events, Furaffinity’s domain had been compromised and needed to lockdown temporarily for nearly 2 days.
It felt like such a long time for me 😔. Furaffinity is my primary connection to the furry fandom. I visit the site daily. I’m not too fond of any other social media. Other sites like X and Instagram have always felt artificial and unfamiliar to me. Furaffinity has much more heart; interactions here feel genuine and meaningful.
Although I was positive that the domain would surely return, a digital artist like myself cannot help but think: “What would happen if suddenly I couldn’t share my art? What could happen if the place where I express myself one day was no more?” Pretty sure those are very catastrophic situations with minuscule chance of happening 😅. Nevertheless, I want to take a little moment to breathe and be thankful that this site is still here and that there are lots of people, wonderful people, who share and enjoy the same little things I do. That’s also the reason why I donated to Dragoneer’s GoFundMe as soon as I could.
I want to know how are you? How are you doing? Big thanks for reading my journal and for being here. You really mean a lot to me, you beautiful weird silly cute furry fan 😸

General | Posted a year agoHello cuties! How are you? For the past year and a half, I've been working as a motion-graphics animator for a state government branch. The job was boring, draining, and it caused me heavy stress and anxiety, but it provided me with financial stability. I managed to save a considerable amount of money, and last week, I finally decided to quit my job and continue my journey as a digital artist.
I find that drawing characters and sharing them with the fandom provides me with a level of fulfillment that I can't trade for anything else. So I'm hoping that this decision means more time for drawings and more growth in my artistic journey! 💖

Hello fashion darlings💙. It's your fox Surprise! with some exciting news:
Tomorrow, I'll be launching my very first YCH Auction .
One of the things I love the most is to experiment and play with fashion. I love the different shapes and silhouettes that different cloth combinations form. However, my day job restricts my drawing time A LOT. So, to solve this, I thought of a new YCH Auction series that will be all about clothing experimentation. I call them "Surprise! Mix & Match"🎉
This is how it's gonna work: Auction will start at 1/4 of the usual price for ONE slot only. The lucky winner will get their character in 4 different outfits that follow a theme. But not only that, these will be ANIMATED; perfectly suited to turn them into a reel/short/tiktok of your preferred social media, just like those trendy fashion reels. (Of course, this part is optional, you will get the animations as gif for you to use as you please).
These "Mix & Match" auctions will happen once a month or so. I will post a teaser one day before on my Instagram, Twitter and FA, so be sure to follow me if you don't want to miss it!💜

General | Posted 3 years agoI'm starting a new job that will mean less time for drawings but more money!
Hello! Hope everyone's okay! So I'm officially the director of audiovisuals in a government dependency of my country. This is my very first fixed contract ever. Prior to this day, I had only landed freelancing jobs in animation studios. It is a very important step in my adult life because this means that, for the first time ever, I will have a stable income and a long term position. The work itself is pretty boring, sadly, and it requires much less drawing fun stuff and much more designing corporate stuff. But hey, the money is a blessing. Today, I received my very first paycheck and, not gonna lie, it felt so relieving to finally have money in my bank account. TwT
So, what's this gonna represent for my art page? Well, I WILL HAVE TO SHUT IT DOWN FOREVA! Heheh, nah just kidding. On one side, I will have less time for drawings and very limited spots for commissions. But on the other hand, having actual maintenance means more free drawings and even get some commissions for myself!
But beyond all that, I wanna keep doing furry art for all of you because it's a passion that I'll never want it to die and this fandom has been so wholesome and kind to me, I wanna give back some of what it's given me QwQ <3

The Beauty and the Beast
General | Posted 3 years agoSurprise! Hello everyone! I've been absent for some time now, did you miss me? I haven't been online at all and that's because I've recently gone through one of the biggest challenges of my year and probably my life.
At the start of 2022, I enrolled myself into a theater company that was working on the musical play of "The Beauty and the Beast". It originally was just a weekend hobby, but as the premiere night came close, the pressure and anxiety within the company grew more and more. I even had a panic attack at one point, the first one I've experienced in my whole life. Last Saturday was the premiere of our show, and when everything was done, I felt so much relief and joy because of the spectacle we put together. My friends came to see me and I received a bouquet of flowers for my performance, also the first one I've received in my life. Everybody told me they loved me. But not only that, I feel like I gained a group of friends that cherish me and trust in me. And we are part of something that's bigger than all of us. 🌹
It's been so demanding to be in a theater play, but I've missed doing art so much.💛 That's my real passion! I'll start posting again and resume a batch of comms that are pending for a certain friend of mine that's been so supporting and so patient with me 🖤! And once I finish that, I will reopen commissions very soon! Stay tuned!

Do you think about boys a lot? Do you check out hot guys while you walk through the supermarket or the park? or the bus? or EVERYWHERE? Cuz that's how i've found myself recently... I'm just so needy of manly love. 😿
I feel greedy
Very much like being desperate; I crave boy attention so, damn, much. But, you see, it's a very funny feeling. When I spot a hot guy at the beach -wearing nothing but shorts and a baseball cap, displaying a magnificently toned physique- I get this uneasy dual feeling: I NEED to have a boy like that and I NEED to have a body like that! 😹
Body Issues
I think feel this disaffection because of insecurities deep inside me. I feel like, unless I have an ultra hot body, I cannot drive myself to talk to the guys I see because I am not on their league yet. And so, I'm left feeling deeply dissatisfied, angry and empty. I just don't know how to build more confidence in me and how to procure me a hot guy who can give me sum luv! 😽

🎵I'm making an animatic starring my original characters, using a song from "Mean Girls" the musical. It's something I've been wanting to do for so long and I'm finally setting myself to it! 💀How was everyone's Halloween? What were your costumes? The spooky season is over (sadly), but the chilly weather is still here to be enjoyed! Tell me what sort of thing do you wear these days? Are you a big elegant coat person or a baggy, cozy hoodie person?
🏕 I went camping for a few days with my family. It was a marvelous experience to be in touch with nature but, unfortunately, I'm having some unpleasant friction with my family. I just feel like we have grown apart too much and that has caused me some bad depression. Should this be the time to move out? As if I had any means of living on my own...Ahhh, thoughts...

🎵I'm making an animatic starring my original characters, using a song from "Mean Girls" the musical. It's something I've been wanting to do for so long and I'm finally setting myself to it! I finally got vaccinated! 💉🥴 I never felt worse😀
General | Posted 4 years agoThe vaccine distribution FINALLY came to my corner of the city. The side effects were delightfully awful (fever, weakness, dizziness) but I came out in one piece and I'm as good as ever! (Except for the fact that the vaccine I received is not accepted in the USA. Man, it's as if the universe didn't want me to travel there 😔).
It's October now. YAY! I have so many plans for Autumn, Halloween and Día de los Muertos. But I also have many job options that I'm forced to juggle with my personal art 🥴 (more dizziness). I wanna hear from you what you'd like to see in my page:

I just got back from a one-week trip to Aguascalientes, a beautiful state in my country. It was my "birthday holiday break" in which I slept till late, saw the country-side and spend some time with old friends. We even attended a Drag Queen show at a gay bar. I KNOW! EPIC!
Now I'm back home, renewed and inspired, I wanna resume all the drawings I have on the making. I kinda have a planned calendar but I'm curious to hear from you, what would you like to see on my page in the future?:
💄More Drag Queen YCH (maybe with a dance theme)
🏖A Summer Surprise Fashion series (where you get to vote)
🏅An Olympics-themed collab (Is anybody keeping track of that?)
📝Some story based illustrations (to practice my writting skills)
I'm also determined to retake some habits I left behind like exercising and doing traditional art. Summer is on the about to reach it's final weeks. I want to reach the goals I set for myself. I encourage you to make the best out of your summer!

First, my Drag Queen Commissions were a success! 😸 I have had more demand that I could have expected and I wanna say thanks to everyone who has commissioned for believing and supporting my art! I will be posting all those gorgeous garments very soon!

It's pretty much empty so far. I'm still deciding what's gonna be my content about as I don't wanna make it a carbon copy of what I post here. For instance, I will post pictures of my fursuit. YES YOU READ CORRECTLY. I HAVE A FURSUIT :3 "If you wanna know how I look like...follow me in Insta"
Besides my furry art, I've had job opportunities more frequently and that gives me so much hope for the rest of the year! I'm not sure if I wanna keep looking for a job or enter an online school. It's all still uncertain for me but luckily I have a wonderful boyfriend that keeps me smiling and motivated for what life has to offer💙 🐦💙.
