Retiring from FA permanently

Hey everyone. Finally back from my hiatus, only to bring the news that I am quitting FA for good. A lot has changed in my life over the past half year or so, and it has left me with little motivation or desire to keep up with this site. I will probably eventually make a tumblr to use as a place to show my art, if I ever get comfortable with my drawing skills again.
First, an explanation as to why I was gone for so long. I spent the summer in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania working for my uncle with no computer or internet access for the most part, thus the initial start of the hiatus. While in KoP, I received the perfect combination of opportunities and ended up moving from Atlanta, Georgia to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since the move, I have been busy keeping myself afloat financially and working 40-50 hours a week in an office. My allotted time for drawing has decreased over time due to lack of drawing, thus decrease in skill level, and I tend to be pretty busy maintaining interaction within my new, amazing group of friends. Though, I miss some of my old GA crew (i.e. Emery) dearly and cannot wait to see them during visits.
Overall, I shall not be completely absent from the furry community. I shall be attending the occasional con and hopefully reconnect with some old furiends.
I don't know what else to say other than my life has started a new chapter. A very bright one. I'd rather focus on that than get caught up again in the silliness that can be FA, or most sites. I do still have an active Twitter and IM accounts, but those are for you to find or earn from me.

Posted 14 years agoI didn't quite get to finish the last ref sheet commish, but I have the near completed .SAI file on a flashdrive with me. Once I get a laptop, it will be finished and uploaded ASAP. andydean won't have to pay me anything due to the obnoxious amount of time it has taken me to finish it.
davidbowie will finally receive his badge as well as a refund of the badge price once work and time permit me to do so, once again due to the obnoxious amount of time it has taken me to get the hard copy of the badge to him due to my own faults.
Once I get a proper pencil sketch done of my half of a trade with spazzyhusky, it will be posted, but it will not mark the real end of my hiatus.
Other than that, I am here in King of Prussia. Have been for a few days and have been working since my first day here. Family is keeping me pretty busy up here. As such, I am taking a hiatus for an unknown amount of time.

Posted 14 years agoSo, as a small number of you may remember, I got a pretty hefty speeding ticket back in Feburary due to my own stupidity. Well, months later, I've finally been to court and received the consequence of my actions. My license is suspended for 6 months, with no chance for a limited driving permit. To have it reinstated when the time ordered has passed, I have to pay $200 and take a defensive driving course. I'm going to send in an appeal to see if they will let me have a limited driving permit after all, otherwise the 4 months I'll be in GA without a license will be... pretty hell-ish and inconvient.
On a happier note, I'm flying up to Philadelphia Wednesday evening. It's going to blow to be carless up there, but hey! I put myself in this situation. I've got one ref sheet commission, one trade, and one personal piece to try finish up digitally before I leave. The ref sheet will be done, fer sure. Traditional works in my to-do list will be done when I arrive in PA.
Because of the lack of car, this will make AC hard to attend, so I'm positive it's more or less a no-go for me this year. Too bad it isn't still head in Philly. ;C
Other than that, I have an amazing day planned for today. Going to shop, roller skate, chill, and club with ismile, mystkatodark, allydog, and some other friends.

Just so you guys know, those of you who are still waiting for your badge to come in the mail, I messed up my postage calculations and they got returned due to too little postage and I was only recently able to get funds to go out and buy more stamps. :v

Iron Artist
During the first month or so I'll be in Pennsylvania, I am going to be computerless. So, as a chance to keep myself active, I thought I would start an iron artist-like thing. Pencil drawings can be uploaded to FA via my phone. As such, pencil drawings are free. So, to nab one, just comment here or note me asking for a slot and describe what you want. If you get a slot and want a digital copy of it once I get my grubby paws on a shiny, new laptop, just send $10 to my paypal address. Digital versions will be started as soon as the laptop is bought. Also, they will be cell-shaded.
