B & W japanese tv series
Posted 14 years agoBack when tv stations shut down after midnight, I remember watching a couple of japanese tv series, both in black and white.
One was the adventures of a doctor in a small town, who was actually a member of the royal family and spent his nights killing baddies ala zatoichi.
The other was a ninja-based series - All I remember was that each episode had this line, "If you go to heaven and meet budda, you will kill him." at the beginning of each episode.
Probably produced in the 60's. Anybody have any ideas?

LaFaelt is 178K zipped, 457K uncompressed. There are 5 'Books' and one 'Readme' file.
It has been 4 years and several dozen e-mails in the making... And we are not done yet. There are plenty of holes to be filled. Tales to tell. Beings to screw... ;)

Cable Splitter
Posted 14 years agoQuick-N-Dirty: if you are having trouble with your download speeds and have a splitter, Double check it. It may be cutting your bandwidth.
For over a month now, I have been fighting with my cable (Cox) - Not the company, the hardware. I have a cable box and a cable modem -And a splitter. It started when we had a lightening storm. I didn't turn off the Surge Protector, and the modem got fried. It was confirmed when the cable guy gave me a New box and modem. And this was when the Fun started...
If I had the Cable box plugged in, the Modem died. Unplugged, it worked just fine. He found I had leakage on the ground wire - Between 30 and 42 volts worth. Old House, Crappy wiring, Right? So I called in an electrician... 2 days and $200 later, the wiring is fine. It's my 4 year old TV shorting everything out... I really can't complain too much - It had survived 4 moves, several bangs, bumps and other nasties... It also doubled as a Room Heater.
Hey! New TV Time... And - Same Difference. Modem doesn't work when the Cable Box is plugged in. Box is New. Modem is New. Cables are New... Hmmm. When I am down at my local hardware store, I see a Satellite Coax Splitter for $8 (2150 Mhz). Can't hurt...
Right now, I am listening to the tv, while my Download speed is running about 6 Mhz. So - if you are having trouble with your Box and modem... Double check the splitter isn't throttling your bandwidth down to nothing.

Posted 14 years agoI started out as SwampRat. If you Google the name, you might find The University of Florida Fanclub. I am sure by now they are sick to Death of having to reply to e-mails with, 'No, we are NOT the Guy who writes about queer animals humping each other!'
Since Afril was my main character on the Mucks (Long before there was IM, there was page and whisper), I decided to use That name - Except... Others seemed to like it too. Really?
Afril - How a queer fox lisps April. An angst-ridden, self-proclaimed 'Little White Prick', castrated fox is who You would portray your fursona as... I say, Go For It!
I just hope Your muse doesn't wake You up after not enough sleep, cracking her whip over Your head:
"Get to Work! Here's an idea. Here's an idea. Here's an idea - I don't Care if they are crappy, Pull some magic out of your lazy *ss and make them work! Tired?! Writer's meme
Posted 14 years agoI saw Whiteyote's journal and thought, 'Well. Something I might be able to fill out.' Most meme's are about drawing... I couldn't draw my way out of a paper bag - Hell, I can't draw a paper bag... Maybe a squashed one. But then it said - Post the title of your upcoming project, along with the first sentence(s).
Someone is laughing at me... I am not sure if they are Upstairs, or Down, but they are laughing. Understand, I have a bunch of little story-bits in my Work folder - But I have only 1 Project.
The Apprentice.
It started life as a 'Do 30 stories in 30 days' dare. That was back in 2007. Two major revisions and Eight re-writes later it sits and waits for it's next victim... It has turned into a version of The Ring - Every person but one brave soul (Who had to get an x-box to fight it off with), who has looked at it (Even just a piece of it), has vanished, never to be heard from again.
Over 900k of text in .rtf format, it resembles a used drop-cloth - Blue, red, fuchsia, green - Each color representing a change, a question, a comment. A certainty, an uncertainty... And still I can hear it's siren song -
'Come. Look me over again. I am sure there are parts that need tweaking. Ideas that need more detail to bring them to life. Holes that need to be filled with yet more text...' That will have to be edited and spell-checked and re-written yet again.
And just to crush any hope that might still linger... 'Don't forget - This is just the Eastern part of the Northern half of the continent. There is still the Frozen North, the Jungles to the West to be written about. And If you get done with that - There is the Entire Southern half to explore. The sun-kissed islands along the coast.'
So no, I don't think I will be adding myself to this 'list'. Perhaps the next one...

Proofreader needed for M/F stories
Posted 14 years agoI don't do many, and very few are going to be as explicit as ScoutPack 2... But, I still need someone who is willing to look them over, give me hints, advice and yes - Add the anatomical references when necessary. In return, you will get to see the rough drafts before anyone. Your name inserted next to mine as co-conspirator. And hopefully help me write better - Or at least keep me from getting any worse!
There will also be an even rarer Female/Female scene or two that will probably need Lots of help as well.
