Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who prefers heat over cold.

The realisation came not more evident than in my in the army, having to go through winter, summer and autumn. Flopping on guard duty by night was never a pleasant thing, but it was made bearable by day at least when you could just flop down and bask in the sun like a content lizard (If you dont count the fear of ticks). The direct opposite was sitting in a cold hole, the whole world being dark and your only comfort was how the under -4 F temperature never left you alone.

Now I do love my share of coldness on over hot days though. You wont appreciate a sip of water more than after you have literally been drenched in your own sweat. Sleeping in a little colder temperature room is pleasant for your sleep. I hate sleeping in hot rooms. Never underestimate the power of winter class sleeping bags in summer (Unless you are a fan of moist surfaces). =w=

I tend to shiver a lot from everything, yet I can bear through coldness with ease. Its just that getting through it doesnt make it pleasant, just forced. Cold weathers make me huddle in my house, making me feel cornered and more prone to anxiety. Yet I love winter scenery. To me its equally beautiful to see a forest teeming with colors and life, than it is to see the same forest covered in snow and frost, locked in a world of dreams.

Why am I writing about this? No idea. Just random info about me .w.

So curiously enough, I have just finished my army training and am now straining to live properly in public, concerning job and education. Also, its only due time until doomsday comes and a war breaks out. Medics work is rather shite XD

So hello everybody!

I do know in fact that FA aint really an social forum like Facebook, but I tend to dislike facebook and I have nothing better to do at the moment...

So a recurring theme some might have noticed that I tend to link songs into the descriptions of pictures I do, discounting those that I do for others. Not that I wouldnt put effort into such pictures, I just dont usually find a good song to link to them.
Why I do this is because most of my pictures are actually born out of songs I listen to. I find it impossible most of the time to simply listen to a song and enjoy how its done technically, instead letting my mind wander out to new frontiers. When I picture a strong image out of a song I really like, I just have to immortalize it. When I do the picture, I listen to the song over and over again, only pausing to listen to other songs to clear my mind after the even stressful process. After the pic is finished, I compare it to my mental image and only stop adding finishing touches when it matches rather fully to how I envisioned it.

Now is an unique moment to me when I have many mental images that I want to immortalize and not enough courage to start all of them. So I am going to post a little description here, along with the song, so that i can come back to it in case I forget it. >.<

I have always been quite fascinated with the amount of macro artwork and writings that is posted here. From quite large but kind dragons, to universe devouring foxes (seen it done) the fetish really offers diversity.

Now, could someone explain the ultimate appeal of it? Im figuring it has to do with the feeling of total domination, even when it reaches quite hilarious levels. Im doing an sorta macro character, but the idea is of him living in an environment which permits such growth. Majority of macros here however couldnt sustain themselves, not to mention survive an direct hit from an nuclear warhead. Am I trying too hard to apply realism here? Yes, I am. An artist who does nothing but draw flying reptiles and post human super soldiers who flip the finger to Superman in terms of badassery.

Buuuuut, since I am awfully bored, I figured this journal would hardly hurt. Im just curious of the appeal and disregard for the obvious david > goliath scene.

3 145 856.M33 Karthulian Rebellion incident, edited by Thoras Augilion

The Mirithan solar system was a place that could only be described as unremarkable by Imperial records. The system harboured eleven worlds, of which eight are inhabited by small Imperial colonies that are largely self sustaining themselves, while providing resources to the small Forge World of Karthulian where the most major export to the surrounding systems were made. Only an occasional raid by Orks or Eldar corsairs plagued the system, but those were far in between and only one instance required a serious deployment of the Imperial Navy to counter them. So it came as an surprise when an full blown rebellion erupted within the system.

In the span of a single week, six out of the eight habitated worlds reported instances of coordinated assaults to the Imperial authorities, with elements of the local PDF and even Arbites suddenly taking up arms to strike at their former comrades. While most of these attacks were driven back, it only lead to new ones raising with even more determined force. When the report that Forge World Karthulian had fallen under siege by an combined force of the turncoat Planetary Defense Navy forces and working class of Karthulian, was when the current working systems governor called for the aid of the Imperial Guard.

So it was with great relief when Admiral Coronus responded to the call of aid and led an sizable battlefleet containing the elements of Marthulian IG 597th & 243th regiments to bring the worlds of Mirithan under Imperial compliance once more. Declaring martial law in all of the rebelling worlds, the regiments descended upon the rebels like the hammer of the Emperor, cleansing the taint from Emperors soils and running a thorough scanning through the remaining PDF and Arbites to root out any surviving rebels that may have in infiltrated their organisations.

Though as they laid siege upon the rebelling Forge World of Karthul, they were met with more furious resistance than first expected, with the planets defensive cannons turned against the Imperial Navy and nearly taking the life of Admiral Coronus as he spearheaded the assault aboard his flagship "Solarius". The assault didnt relent however, with the guardsmen descending upon various locations of the world to seize key objectives and root out the hostile forces. The rebels however were well dug in, even utilizing defensive assets that were prepared to defend the Forge World from incursions like this. It took four full months to seize the majority of the world, but the main processing facilities still stayed under enemy control. These were to be relieved with utmost haste, since the whole solar system would suffer if the worlds minerals couldnt be extracted and processed to power the solar systems trade. The Guard were able to destroy these forces, albeit with heavy casualties, until they came to an dead stop when attempting to assault the final facility network located in the planets northern continent.
The rebels had reinforced the facilities already formidable defenses by building an bulwark of steel around the complex, using batteries of turncoat Basilisks and Hydras, erecting void shields and setting out an network of trenches where they could dig in. It didn't help how the worlds geography worked in their favor, the heavy industrial smoke from the facilities feeding the raging storms that blocked out scanning and poisoned the air, while the jagged and uneven ground made concentrated vehicular assaults futile. The place took the nickname "Hills of Gore" after two full waves of Guardsmen assaults were brought to stop and slaughtered to the last man.

Admiral Coronus finally swallowed his pride after months of continuous assault failed to push through the rebels lines and had costed the lives of thousands of good Guardsmen. But after he sent an distress call to call in other Imperial Forces, even he was surprised to hear that it was the Adeptus Astartes responding. A full company of Astartes identifying themselves as the "Dragon Lords", led by Captain Arathu, met up with the Admiral in just a month after the distress signal. As an another surprise, the Dragon Lord captain requested using the planets vox systems to broadcast an message to the rebels.

"Rebels of Karthulia. The sons of Vulkan have arrived to exact retribution for your atrocities. Surrender or resist, it matters not. Your legacy will be forgotten as you burn in flames."

Coordinating an combined IG and Space Marine offensive, Captain Arathu lead his company down upon the rebels defensive lines and established an beachhead with surprising efficiency, that only reinforced the reputation held by the members of the Astartes. Managing to deploy batteries of artillery to punish the defenders, the Dragon Lords then called in their air forces to carpet bomb the defenders lines with a series of brutal air strikes. An eyewitness called the display "an maelstrm of flames", as the trenches blazed with promethium through which the Dragon Lords strode without breaking a sweat, even after the enemy artillery strikes kept on hammering them with negligible results. Silencing the fixed defenses set on the outer walls, the Astartes deployed an linebreaker squadron of Vindicators to punch through the gates, followed by spearheads of Land Raiders that deployed squads of Dragon Lords within the enemy held facilities. While this is impressive on itself, it was with a slight shock when the Guardsmen noticed the Dragon Lords keeping on bombing the facility, surely burning out the rebels but also nearly outright destroying the valuable structures. It wasn't long until the Guardsmen were able to consolidate the facilities, though little remained of the enemy, or the facilities original structures. When Captain Arathu was brought under question about this excessive show of force, he replied with the exact words:

"We were called to purge the taint from your lands and we did it. Now you have a chance to rebuild, to right this atrocity committed by your former comrades. This is an opportunity."

With that the Astartes left the system, but not before the forces of the Inquisition of the Ordo Hereticus arrived to assess the situation. Scans were run through the populace and questionings were made to determine the exact reason that rebellion started in the first place. Fear of genestealer infestation was scrapped, along with the suspicion of underground chaotic cult organizations. Whatever the reason for the rebellion was in the first place still remains in mystery.

So the bad news:
- Been closed off for the past weekend and now this weekend aswell, as someone thought that they need a bunch of medics for an frakking random camp trip. Really the definition of crushing ones dreams
- Majority of my fellow soldiers here just laugh at me for this misfortune
- Need to attend a bunch of exams next week to get to an college
- Seriously lacking motivation for anything (Answering to someone helps steer my thoughts off, thats why I made this journal)

- Next week I will be off for the whole week, skipping another camp

- Want to draw Nightwish music based Space Marines. Sudden influence on WH40k? Well nurturing your own SM chapter is like making your own fursona (Mines named "Dragon Lords") so I suppose it fits the fandom.

Sheesh, over 600 WATCHERS and I didn't even bloody notice it! Quite a nice surprise to see that you suddenly have conveniently 609 people following your works, even if with extremely picky tastes and attention spans.

So to "celebrate" this, I want YOU to help me decide what to draw next, since I have sooooo many projects to start and/or finish.

The ideas are as follows ~

"Unhallowed One" - If you know what the word "Phyrexia" means, then you should imagine that applied to a dragon. Kind of an dramatic piece, which I already actually started but haven't been able to finish. If you simply don't bother to google for it, heres a couple of inspirational pieces:

"Stand Up and Fight" - An action piece, featuring my all time favorite mech line: the Armored Core. Yes, I've grown into these bastards long before I even knew what Gundam or Evangelion was.

"Slice and Dice" - ... a Gundam picture. No, it would not have any ridiculous eye brows or cheesy weapons. A little stylised piece, with a artistic touch to make the usual anime designs more tolerable for my taste.

"Remember the Fallen" - As a stupidly crazy Magic the Gathering fan, the unexpected death of the planeswalker Elspeth Tirel was a slight shock to me. So, I thought it would be fitting to do an little tribute for this tragic character of the Multiverse. Mostly here to let me practice on human anatomy, armor and on how to elevate certain details. Would be kind of an dramatic "memorial" piece.

The last couple of days have been busy, but gradually eventful fortunately. I managed to buy myself an MTG deck that finally has a lot of synergy and flavour in it, visited an roleplaying club in which I met a bunch of new people, got myself Dark Souls 2 (finally. Only 1,5 months late) and its working well. One of the grand jewels though, is that I got to grab the brand new Heroes album from Sabaton <3

While my drawing tablet still aint working, the worst thing happened like an hour ago. While I was leaving from my friend  sharkhal we took a local taxi. To my luck, the taxi was full and a bunch of noisy and drunk people were seated at the front (it was an large taxi). When I tried to make my way to the back, a loud mouth who I will refer to as; mr. Creep, stopped me and showed me to sit right infront of him. First, he talked crap like "so you're into heavy methuuuul? You're so meta" and "have you veer had an proper buttfuck". This shit talk lasted for the whooooole way and even one time he reached out to grope my chest. His friends yelled at him and eventually took him out, apologizing to me and explained that mr. Creep had Tourettes syndrome. I.. I couldnt care less.
I only managed to swat his random movements away and Sharkhal yelled at him from the back. He was large and apparently strong, so I kinda... froze. I didnt know what to do.

I feel dirty and hungry.
