I hate those feelings.

So last night I was going to meet someone and go out. I wound up late leaving for various reasons and they decided to go on ahead and have me meet them where we were going. Fair enough, right?

Well, I'm fairly new to this city and we were going to an area I don't know at all, in the dark. Yeah, I got lost. I have a smartphone though so not a problem, right? Wrong. My phone's been having problems and it decides now is the time to crap out and die on me.

Can't look up directions, can't call for directions, can't let the person know why I'm a no-show... ARGH!!!

So I wander for half an hour and manage to find my way back to a familiar road. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth I decide to head home before I get lost again. Promptly got online and made an appointment with my carrier to get my phone taken care of. Hopefully I'll be able to call the person and apologise... by this weekend ;-;

So yeah,  tiptoe got free tickets to the Brewers game last night and we went. Baseball isn't really either of our thing but we had fun. I continue my streak of the home team winning every ball game I go to as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 6:3. We were hoping to wind up on camera as we almost never go to these, but it didn't happen. Ah well, perhaps thats for the best for everyone else there

That's what I feel like anyways; hungry and unable to lift much of anything with my arms. Been working out with  maximus-ursus the past few days pushing my limits and I'm whooped. Off day tomorrow because people do things on Thursdays around here for some reason.

Getting work done on my car this weekend then it should be good for a while. There's several things I want to get fixed on it, but only the couple things I'm doing this weekend are urgent. Fortunately I have  tiptoe to coach me on that.

Yeah, I guess so. Well, I've moved, I have a new job, I have a 2001 Ford Taurus, and I'm having a great time!

Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of stress in my life, and I'm so busy I'm having to decide what to put off, but its still going much better than it was before. Now that I'm living in a nicer area its much easier to sleep, and I have a car so my commute is down to about an hour a day. I've also joined a gym and I'm going regularly with  maximus-ursus so expect to see some results from that! On the down side, I need to find a better job as the one I have is only a temporary solution and I have to move again by the end of November. Going to MFF this year will be tight for me, but I should be able to manage it. I'm going to have to skip seeing my family for the holidays this year and I'm going to miss my brother's wedding in Hawaii.

Some more current events are that I went to another model car contest. This was the Illinois NNL in Crystal Lake, IL. I went with  tiptoe and cheered him on as he won a trophy for best closed-wheel race car with his Stroh's Light Mustang! Go congratulate him and cheer him up as he's been having some issues with his diet and training program.

My long delayed comic from  nexus is finally going to be coming out soon. It should be in the next week or so barring any more issues. Its going to be epic, and I hope you all check it out and comment as the story unfolds. I'll try to respond to any questions as each page is released, but the story has a surprise ending that even I don't know! I recommend anyone who likes the comic get one of their own. Nexus has various styles available for different prices, some of which are easily affordable!

Since I'm pimping artists I also want to mention my friend, the lovely and dangerous  kellesk has been offering regular commissions and the slots have been taking far too long to fill. Her work is amazing, especially her color work, and she's just been getting better and better!

Having a blast, that's what! I went to the LeMons race at the Autobahn in Joliet, IL this last weekend. Got to meet some cool people, see some great racing and amazing amalgamations of cars. Most importantly I got to spend the whole race with  tiptoe! He walked me through how the race worked and shared a bunch of cool facts about the cars we were seeing which made the whole thing that much more fun. :-D

The team Tip was racing for did really well despite some mechanical problems. They had a problem with the synchro between 3rd and 4th gear which made shifting a pain, and had an ignition cable come loose, but the killer was when their hard line for their brakes busted and they didn't have a spare. Ended up missing the last hour of the race because we couldn't get it fixed in time, but they would have been 2nd in class and probably low teens overall if it wasn't for the brake line.

After the races I went back with Tip and hung out with him and  maximus-ursus for a couple days. Got to try cupcakes from the famous Comet bar and eatery. We got some workouts in, went for a swim, got to see some progress on Tip's model cars (they're looking awesome) and watched Kaze: Ghost Warrior. I also took care of some work related stuff while I was there and then headed home. I had so much fun over the last week that I was dragging my feet on the way home, heh.

Looking forward to attending Road America in November and who knows, maybe I'll take the training class they have there for racing. After talking to a few people it sounds like a lot of fun. See you next time, fuzzbutts!

I'm going to watch an endurance race this weekend. A certain racing friend of mine will be in it and I'll be cheering him on and enjoying the food and fun. It's going to be my first race since I was a kid, so it'll be interesting to see how different everything is now.

In other news, I'm getting lots of calls from employment agencies and a couple companies wanting interviews and paperwork filled out so hopefully I'll be employed in the area I plan to move to soon and can get everything finalized.  maximus-ursus has been helping me a lot with getting everything together for the move and I'm very grateful for that. I've also been getting to see a lot of the handsome  tiptoe lately and getting to go to the gym with them both which can be an adventure of its own with all the interesting characters there, haha.

I haven't updated in a while, and since I don't want my head pasted from 2000 meters away I figured I'd better post something.

I'm looking for new work at the moment. I plan to move to a nearby state and need to find employment there before I do. I don't make enough money right now to build a nest egg, so uninterrupted employment is vital. I've also been working hard in my exercise program. I'm almost up to phase 3 out of 4. Each phase gets progressively harder and longer, so I have to be fully prepared before I move to it. My weight is good, and my abs are slowly beginning to take on some definition. I hope to be done with my six-pack in the next couple of months at which point I'm getting inked. Yup, you heard it, rat's getting a tattoo. Not going to say what it is, but I'll post a picture when its done. Speaking of posting pictures, I'll get a progress set up in the next week or two so people can see what I look like and how much I've lost.

I've lost two of my relatives in the last month. I didn't know either of them well. My family is large and spread out, so most of them I could sit across a table from and not recognize, but its still causing some familial stress and I feel for those close to them.

Everyone else seems to be busy right now with many jobs going into the spring buildup for summer, so I've been spending less time than I'd like with my friends. On the positive side,  nexus is working hard on my comic and we should be seeing a preview in the next few weeks, followed shortly by the rest.  kellesk should have her comic coming out shortly after that and hopefully around the end of the year we should see the next chapter of  tiptoe's story. All three of these should be epic and I look forward to what the big roo does with them.

Between work, doctor appointments (getting checkups and vaccinations for the first time in a long time) and socializing I've been swamped lately. I'm not getting as much sleep as I should, and I'm missing workouts so I haven't been improving as much as I would like.

Still happy though. Work should hopefully be settling down a bit in another week and most of my doctor's appointments should be done with. I've been getting to spend a lot of time with  tiptoe which I'm grateful for. He's really busy and I'm ecstatic that he's taking the time out to see me =^.^=

Also been hanging out with  maximus-ursus and chatting with  nexus a lot. Both great friends and I enjoy my time with them.

Next weekend is LAFF bowling and I'm having visitors stay over with me so that should be fun and exciting.

Should be fun. More updates on my living situation as my lease is over at the end of summer and I look for a better place.

Wow it was cold tonight, but so much fun!

My night started off a little slow trying to find people to click with my first time out, but I met Scoobie at The Patio and she was pretty cool. Even gave me a ride to the bowling alley.

At the alley I just happened to luck into picking the same lane as two awesome furs Ringer, aka  racsonracsonracs and Birk. Now, I went there partially to make some local fur friends, but as fate would have it these guys are Wisconsin furs! Something seems to be pushing me towards that state because all my fur friends up here seem to live in Wisconsin, lol.

They made my night a blast, and even gave me a lift home so I wouldn't have to spend hours riding buses and trains. We spent the evening talking about the ironies of life, the Chicago Auto Show and what we all do when we aren't getting our furry on.

I hope I get to see them again soon, and I hope Ringer gets to meet another WI friend of mine,  tiptoe because they're both car buffs and I think they'd get along great. =)

Yay for a successful LAFF Bowling Furmeet! So many furs showed up, the bowling alley was packed!

I went to the Chicago Auto Show with  tiptoe this past Tuesday. We had such a blast! They had some really mean looking concept cars there as well as some old favorites. The tech on show there was pretty cool too, and I got to learn a few new things about engines. I was certainly impressed with Subaru's engine design, though I think they could use a bit more in their body design.

After we had dinner at TGI Friday's and way cheated on our diets, but had fun there too and we talked so long the wait staff was giving us looks! Haha =)

It was one of the best days I've had in a very long time and can't wait to do it again. Oh, and for those of you wondering, he's even more handsome in person than in his photos =D

Life seems crazy sometimes. Every time I think I'm getting a handle on things something comes by that makes it all go haywire.

I'm on track for my fitness goals. I've finally gotten a permanent position at work and my benefits will kick in soon so I can get my long overdue dentist and doctor's appointments taken care of. My finances and credit are steadily improving. Its looking like I can move into a nicer place at the end of my lease, and I should Hopefully have a car within 6 months.

My social situation has been... interesting. I've got a friend who's been having hard times and is faced with what seems to be a decision of what half of themselves they want to throw away. It hurts me deeply to see them this way (if you don't know me well, you have no idea just how much I feel for the people I care about) and I am trying everything I can to be there for them, but in the end, there's only so much I can do.

On top of that, I find myself less and less interested in the games I've enjoyed since I was a boy. Video games and tabletop rpgs alike. The video games I initially got into as a way of dealing with a lack of friends during a period in grade school. This led to me meeting people who really liked video games and from there getting into tabletop rpgs. I do enjoy it, but I think the side of me that enjoyed going out and playing in the dirt and playing war and practising martial arts and all those physical things is long overdue for a turn.

What's a rat to do? I'm sure I'll figure something out, I usually do. Its the times I don't that scare me. It's like I'm juggling eggshell grenades; If I drop just one, *boom* my life hits the shitter all over again. For once, just this once, I want to keep them all in the air and have things work out the way they rightly should.

Well, time to go cook a week's worth of diet food and think happy thoughts.

So I've decided to challenge myself to get in shape absolutely as fast as possible. To that end I've signed up for bodybuilder and professional trainer Mike Chang's exercise and diet program (I researched him and everything I can find seems to be legit). He has two paths available, the slow and steady path that works very well but takes time, and the emergency weight loss program for 2-4 weeks of quick weight loss if you absolutely have to have visible changes in a month. After those weeks you go back to the first program to maintain the weight loss and increase the muscle building at a normal pace.

Well, since I have something coming up in February I went with the fast track and wow is it intense! I'm going to be putting everything I have into this and won't have a lot of time for playing games or socializing for a couple weeks, but if it works I think it will be very worth it. I'm used to my comforts and this is going to be a bit tough on me, so expect me to be a little cranky for a while.

Wish me luck! If this works I'll be in the best shape I've been in for a long time in a month, and in amazing shape in six months.

My book on automotive systems came in the mail yesterday. I haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet, but I'm eager to give it a go. I'm also employed directly through my company now instead of as a temp and with a pay raise to boot. =)

I managed to pick up gifts for my family from Amazon, so they'll be getting those in the mail soon, and I should be getting my cards and sweets from them soon too. My mom's cookies and carrot cake will be my first since Thanksgiving, and probably my only sweets for a long time. My diet has been going well. Cutting out the sugars and other bad carbs, and eating lots of meat and greens. Exercising has made me realize just how out of shape I had become, and I am very glad I started back up before I got any worse.

My tentative plans for Christmas fell through, so probably just going to exercise in the morning then grab some rum and study my book or play FFXI.

I've been doing better the last month than the last 5 years. Depression on and off (not going into my sob story) caused me to let myself go and I lost a bunch of muscle and gained some fat, including a bit of a gut (no, I'm not that fat, but its still way more than I like).

I'm starting to get my life back together though, and I saw my family for the first time in two years over Thanksgiving. That got me into a positive enough mood to get me working out again, which in turn made me feel up to dating again. I've got my eye on someone, but we'll see if anything comes of it. My family and friends have all been cheering me on even though they don't know any more than that either, lol.

I've also been feeling up to learning new things again, and refreshing old things I'm a bit rusty at. I ordered a book that teaches the systems of a combustion engine car. It was the highest rated text for beginners that I could find (and not cheap either). I know bits and pieces about it, and I can do things like change belts and water pumps on older cars, but I wanted to learn them more intimately so I could hold more intelligent conversations with my car friends and have a better understanding when I have car problems. I'm also trying to locate the Shuri-Ryu kata on DvD so I can refresh my forms. I;d like to finish my BS in Biochemistry, but that will have to wait until I have more time.

Last, but not least I'm going to be the main character in a comic! That's right,  nexus has agreed to do a comic for me in his world. Its going to be a while yet, as its still in the concept stages but be prepared for an awesome story and lots of butt-kicking action!
