Posted 9 years agoLife is good. Job is good (which is not something I have been able to say about my employment in YEARS). Home is good. Husband is amazing, as always. Friends are amazing. There's not much more a girl could ask for.
Well.
Art is...uh. Sporadic. I'm not gonna blame my supposed muse, who has been hitting the inside of my head with a sledgehammer of awesome ideas on every drive home from work. My muse is working overtime. My motivation, however, is usually nonexistent: though I like my job a lot, by the time I get home from my eight-hour day (which is really a 9- or 10-hour day, if you include my lunch -- where I don't generally leave my office [not that I mind, just it's not practical for my job] -- and my commute) and do household chores and consume food and attempt to relax, it's time to go to bed and start the whole process over. I'm not gonna make excuses; I'm going to try to find more time in my life to work on art. There's a satisfaction to art that I miss tremendously, and I want to get back into it.
I'm not going to make any promises, though -- this is my own thing. If I owe you a commission, I have not forgotten about you! But, there's a reason I don't take payment upfront generally. Thank you immensely for your patience :)

I AM ALIVE
Posted 10 years agoIt was a helluva...well, summer, I guess? Jesus, been a while since I've updated here. And it's also been awhile since I worked on commissions, which is why I generally don't expect payment upfront. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU. Life's just been a major pain in my ass lately.
So what's new:
My entire Patreon got pirated and also Patreon had someone hack them (I assume unrelated to the piracy, which seems focused on furry art), swiping a huge amount of information. This may end my relationship with Patreon. Thanks to everyone who sponsored me there; I may consider trying a different method if I continue Sketch of the Day/Porno Friday/etc. If you are still a member over at Patreon, don't worry: I've shut off the monthly collection of money, so you should not be charged going forward (and if I do post more art there, I'll warn folks before charging anything).
I have no idea what I'm going to do with Sketch of the Day. I'd like to continue it but I'm so TIRED lately. Working 40-hour weeks wears me out a lot more than it used to. I think the uptick in various health issues, along with a general growth in my introversion/social anxiety/whatever the hell it is has a lot to do with this. It's a lot worse these days than it was even just five years ago, and I have no idea why. Bodies and brains are weird.
Speaking of which... I spent the majority of the month of September terrified that I might have cancer. My doctor found a lump in my breast, which lead to a lot of waiting, followed by a mammogram/ultrasound, followed by MORE waiting, followed by a biopsy, followed by MORE waiting, followed by...it's benign. Which I mean, thank whatever deity there is, but I'm still recovering from the literal weeks of stress of "YOU MIGHT HAVE CANCER."
I might be at Furpocalypse to support my husband and friends in the gaming room. I don't have a table, so I probably won't be taking commissions (though I could set up behind a table in the gaming room, maybe? Who knows) though if anyone wants to sit and chat and do an art trade I might be up for it. I'm pretty irritated by the convention in general for personal reasons (outside of not getting a table), so odds are I won't be around much, and I've taken so much time off for the whole "YOU MIGHT HAVE CANCER" thing that I am NOT taking the Friday of the con off from work.
The drama at conventions in general is really turning me off of participating in more of them. I've tabled at 3 cons this year: one furry, one Doctor Who-themed, and one multi-genre one. Though I made a lot of money at the furry one (and had a lot of fun following the convention, though that was completely unrelated), I had the most fun at the Doctor Who one. By far. It was the best organized with the most communication, with the multi-genre con following a very close second. I'm kind of okay stepping back from furry cons in general -- I'm a mildly socially anxious introvert with manic-depression and other health issues, I'm genuinely surprised I've been able to go to them as often as I have (parties have no attraction for me at all). And a full-time job (which I quite like!), again, has downgraded my need to make more money on weekends. In all honesty, I'd rather spend the cost of getting a table, getting a hotel room, transportation, etc., and go to Disney World.
And yes, the cost of going to Disney World and the cost of attending a convention -- particularly a convention that is nowhere near my house -- is actually pretty similar. And that's a BIG chunk of money, when you think about it. I'd much rather spend that time on Space Mountain than sitting behind a table working, no offense to all my amazing fans and friends :)
To end this post on a lighter note a big thanks to everyone who reads this! I know I don't really update around here anymore, but it's nothing to do with the fandom or the website -- I'm just busy! And anxious! And spending time with important people outside the internet, which is pretty nice.

Life Update
Posted 10 years agoBeen a bit since I updated here, so gonna post what's been going on and why there's been so little art/activity from me lately.
Winter was hard on me -- I got officially diagnosed as chronically bipolar (this is something I've known personally for years, but having an official diagnosis makes my craziness seem less crazy, if that makes sense). Usually my depressive periods lead to manic times where it's All Art All The Time but this year I sunk REALLY low, far enough that help was needed. That's what my last "Minor Delay" post was about -- when your mental health starts to affect your physical health, it's time to see someone.
After filling my prescription for brain drugs, I found out...I got a job. I've been applying to jobs off and on for the past...six months or so? Basically because a steady income is a beneficial thing, and as much as I enjoy drawing furry art as a job, the money wasn't steady. I'm still getting readjusted to working 9 to 5 again, but I'm actually getting out of the house on a daily basis...which is a significant improvement over most of the winter. And my Vitamin D levels are back to normal too, huzzah.
(Also, it needs to be noted: after having 3 jobs that were pretty hard on me [including one that involved a boss who stalked me after I left], I seem to have gotten one that's not. I'm sort of amazed and a bit awestruck, but I'm also still waiting for the other shoe to drop...I have career PTSD =p)
So I'm not ready to declare myself fully back-in-action yet -- I'm still feeling pretty hesitant about streaming again, for instance, because my social anxiety has turned into a beast that chews on my brain -- but I did want to explain what I've been up to and that yes, I am doing okay, things are just in a bit of a flux right now (but the good kind) :)
I'm also going to post a list of outstanding commissions! If you are expecting art from me and are NOT on this list, please comment/Note/email me about it, and I will add you. Also major apologies for forgetting you if I did!
Commissions
1.
dasherwhitetail - 20-page comic commission, 4 pages sketched; 1 full-color page *TOP PRIORITY*
2.
s0c0m3 - YCH commission
3.
phenoixx - He knows :D
4.
jyan - Sexy cetaceans!
Don't forget: I am still on Patreon. Even in my darkest hours, I try to post a sketch or two over there (throwing money at me for sketches is basically a form of love): http://www.patreon.com/tabbiewolf

Minor Delay
Posted 10 years agoHey, folks!
Apologies for any delays in responses to notes or working on commissions -- I'm dealing with some health issues right now that popped up not quite out of nowhere but to a bigger degree than I was expecting and that are kicking my butt. I AM seeing a specialist about it, and yes it's the kind of thing where you need a specialist, and unfortunately it's delaying a lot of my art.
I also have to prep for a convention at the end of this month, which is great when my health is being a pain, lemme tell you =p
Anyway! Things are being worked on, not to worry, it's just at a MUCH slower pace than I normally keep. Hopefully this will change as I work stuff out with my doctor! Any art that's being uploaded was drawn months ago -- check out my Patreon for more current stuff: http://www.patreon.com/tabbiewolf
Thanks for sticking around :) And again, apologies for the delays!

Commissions are OPEN
Posted 10 years agoJust a general note to everyone, since I don't really advertise it all that much outside of a little blurb at the top of my main page that I'm sure no one reads!
Yes, commissions are ALMOST ALWAYS OPEN. The only thing I am completely unwilling to take right now are comic commissions, because I'm working on one already :) My prices can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/12452111/
I will draw pretty much anything, though if it requires a lot of research or makes Google think I'm weird(er), then I'm going to charge you for that time. The three exceptions that qualify the "pretty much" are: kid porn (I WILL draw babyfurs. I will NOT draw babyfurs or kids in any sexual situations. Sorry, folks, that's just not something I want to draw), most bathroom play (I'm totally okay with watersports; everything else is just not my thing), and rape (I WILL draw rape role-play, but it has to be obvious that it's done consensually [safe words, etc.], which means you end up with a comic, which means it costs more).
If I owe you a commission already you have not been forgotten about! Things are being worked on, and I'm trying to catch up with anything left over from FC.
Likewise, if you'd like to see more YCH pieces (for much less than they cost here on FA!), naughty stuff, and get sketches almost every day from me, check out my Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/tabbiewolf Supporting the artist allows me to stop worrying about money and draw more, guys! :D

We have returned!
Posted 10 years agoWe had an AMAZING time in California. I will perhaps detail the awesomeness of Further Confusion at a later date, but first,
the_gneech needs to upload the video for
graveyardgreg's karaoke. Because it was just the best thing on a Sunday morning.
And the erotic donut. And meeting all the west coast folks I hadn't met yet but have known online for a decade+. And selling out of all my handbound books. And my goodness, guys, it was the best furry con I've been to in years :D I still have a callus on my right hand from drawing so much!
After the con,
tugrik,
spotweld and I drove down the coast to Disneyland. We tiki'd it up at Don the Beachcomber's, then tiki'd it up at Trader Sam's the following night ;) And Disneyland was an amazing amount of fun for everyone. Disney's California Adventure has grown up SO MUCH since the last time I was there (not too long after it opened). Cars Land is completely and utterly perfect, and my favorite land by far, probably of both California parks (and any land that can beat out Adventure Land, for me, is definitely worth taking note of!) and also probably of all Disney parks I've been to (which is 6 total; haven't gone overseas...yet). It is immersive and gorgeous, like you stepped into the movie. The only comparable land I can think of is Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Anyway, we got a ton of photos, and I'm gonna be taking the one of all three of us being dorky in front of the castle and put it on the fridge probably ;)
Spot and I got a romantic and snuggly Thursday to ourselves, finding a cute little hotel in Marina Del Rey, and just puttered around Hollywood and Anaheim. We saw Mann's Chinese Theater, plowing through the people trying to shove stuff at you (Hollywood: the Times Square of the west), and got a sundae at the Disney soda fountain there. We had lunch at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant, which I am pretty sure has not changed at all since the last time I went there...25 years ago. I bought a silly amount of boysenberry candy. We picked up donuts from Randy's (the classic GIANT DONUT), chicken & waffles from Roscoe's, and found a little artisan brewery called Three Weavers that had a yuzu IPA that was bizarrely good (and I don't like IPAs). It was an amazing day.
Then, yesterday was filled with travel stress. The hotel's cute little parking lot had double parking where you were supposed to leave your key with the front desk. The guy who parked behind us...didn't. So despite being ready to leave at 4:30am, we couldn't until 5:30am due to having to tow the car out of the spot...and our boarding time was 6:30am. I didn't suggest that they crush the truck into a cube, but I wanted to quite badly.
Luckily, LAX's baggage check and security lines run like clockwork because of the sheer size of the airport. We got to our gate just as boarding started. We got to BWI at 2:45, grabbed a lunch at Duclaw (one of my favorite breweries ever, but I grew up in Maryland so...), went through security again, and waited. Our flight was set to leave at 6:45pm.
Then 6:55.
Then 7:05.
Then they cancelled it.
Not for weather reasons, despite an apparent incoming snowstorm. No, apparently there were simply too many planes, so they rescheduled it. This is the weirdest and most inconvenient method I can think of for this; why on earth was the plane even originally scheduled for that time? Surely they knew the schedule of everything going in and out of the airport.
So we got in line to wait for new tickets, for a flight due to leave at 10:05.
Then it got delayed to 10:40.
Then they loaded up the plane and there was a mechanical error, so we were stuck on the tarmac for another hour, hour-and-a-half.
We finally got into our home airport at around 1am.
The reason I booked us a ridiculously early flight out of California was so that we'd be home before midnight. Clearly, someone in the universe thought it would be funny and ironic for that plan to fail -- sigh!
We pulled into our driveway at around 2am, rolled in all our luggage, and then passed out.
It was an AMAZING trip, guys. But I'm totally taking this weekend off to recover, mostly from yesterday's travel fiasco! New art, a better con report, etc., will start on Monday...assuming I don't get the vacation crud ;)

Further Confusion: Dealer's Meme
Posted 10 years agoWhat Table #?
25! I'm in the middle of the first row, right next to
graveyardgreg.
Do you take Commissions?
I do indeed! I will be taking badges, sketches, inked, and full color commissions, though if you want a full-page color commission please get to me early — those take a lot of time so are limited!
What Merchandise will you be selling?
Comics: The issues of Squeak, Xformations Unlimited, and Genus: Male that my comics are featured in
Books: The Bawdy Bartender book, Changes (a book of transformation), and The Sketch of the Day compendium
Patches, charms, plush tigerdiles, general nerdy buttons & bottle openers.
Do you have Art Show space?
I do not, thank deity; I've been busy enough with travel prep without adding "making new art for display" to the matter.
What is the easiest way to get in contact with you, or keep up to date with your sales?
Twitter! @tabbiewolf
Any Table Rules?
• If my head is down in a sketchbook, don't be afraid to talk to me - I'm listening! And if I can't talk at the moment,
spotweld will probably be able to help you.
• I'm limiting the physical interaction severely because I'm trying REALLY HARD not to get con crud, so if I don't hug you, apologies. It's not that I don't love you, I just am going to Disneyland post-con and don't want to miss it due to illness.
• Don't be a dick. This isn't just a table rule, this is a convention rule and a life rule.

Further Confusion Meme
Posted 10 years ago-Hotel?
Staying with a friend, so won't be at the hotel :) Having a place to go home to that isn't a hotel room is my preferred way of going to conventions.
-Arrival/Departure
Flying in Wednesday, setting up in the Dealers Room Thursday afternoon, sticking around San Jose till Sunday, then headed down to Disneyland.
-Means of transportation
Electric car :D
-Sharing a room with:
Non-applicable?
-Gender
Female
-Relationship Status
Married to
spotweld and yes we are monogamous, so don't even ask
-How old are you?
Old enough to know better, young enough to not care.
-How tall are you?
5'7"
-Are you an Artist?
I am indeed!
-Do you have an artist table?
Yes! I will be space #25 in the Dealers Room, hawking my wares and taking commissions.
-What will you be offering at your table?
Comic books, books of my sketches, buttons, badges, commissions, my Bawdy Bartender book…come and see!
-Do you take commissions?
Heck yes! Everything from sketches to full color pages, though get to me early if you want a full color page (I generally do badges all weekend though!)
-Do you do trades?
If you ask me NOW for trade that's finished at the convention, sure (I love doing badge trades). Otherwise I need to focus on makin' money :)
-Are you a Fursuiter?
Nope
-Attending parties?
Not too much of a partier, I'm afraid. If any artists invite me to a sketch party I may join, but otherwise I'll be doing homework off-hours :)
-Do you drink?
Yep. I even made a book full of cocktail recipes that will be for sale at Further Confusion!
-Can I buy you a drink?
Sure, if you like. Don't expect anything in exchange outside of a big thank you, though :)
-Do you smoke?
No
-Are you attending any panels?
If I can catch one when I'm not in the dealers' den, maybe!
-How do I identify my self to you?
Assuming you're wearing a badge, you won't have to say much! A good intro is "Hey, I follow you on FA!" or something similar.
-Rules of engagement (physical contact)?
If you don't know, please ask. I am generally okay with hugs but I'm also trying to avoid con crud, so my physical contact with folks will be minimal.
-How can I find you?
I'll be behind my table (#25) in the dealers room for the majority of the convention. Otherwise, tweeting at me (@tabbiewolf) is the best way to get ahold of me.
-Can I talk to you?
I'm always happy to chat! Don't be scared to say hi, even if I'm working on art. I can multitask usually :)
-Can I give you lots of money?
Please do! I will give you lovely art in exchange!
-Can I hug or snuggle with you?
See above about physical contact.
-Can I hang out with you?
Feel free to ask, but please don't be sad/mad if I say no. I'm 100% artist/tourist, so I dunno how beneficial hanging out with me would be.
-Can I take your picture?
PLEASE ask before taking my picture. If I end up in some angry blog about furries I'll be annoyed.
-How do I know if you're not looking to socialize (angry, busy or upset)?
I'll probably tell you outright! Conventions are work for me, so I spend the majority of my time in the "busy" category (again: I'm okay with chatting while drawing! But I can't really, you know, party while drawing). I'm also extremely blunt, which is beneficial with people who don't pick up on social cues but makes me seem kind of like a bitch sometimes.
-What's your goal for the con this year?
Have fun, meet west coast friends who I haven't met in person yet, draw lots of pretty things :)
-Any questions?
Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?
Staying with a friend, so won't be at the hotel :) Having a place to go home to that isn't a hotel room is my preferred way of going to conventions.
-Arrival/Departure
Flying in Wednesday, setting up in the Dealers Room Thursday afternoon, sticking around San Jose till Sunday, then headed down to Disneyland.
-Means of transportation
Electric car :D
-Sharing a room with:
Non-applicable?

I should mention this here: going to FC!
Posted 10 years agoI'll post a more detailed journal about this sometime this weekend? Maybe? We'll see how much convention prep I get done. I'm in the dealers room, space 25, and will be selling my wares and taking commissions!

Art Delay
Posted 10 years agoHey, guys!
I'm going to TRY to get a holiday-themed commission special up today, but I flooded the laundry room (our washer is falling apart) so my day has mostly consisted of trying to clean the mess up. Sorry for the delay!
If you've got a commission outstanding from late last week or this weekend, I'll try to get started on it tonight; I've been a bit waylaid. My apologies!
Being an adult: kind of a pain in the ass.

Holiday Commission Specials & Further Confusion
Posted 11 years agoHi, everyone!
Hopefully it's been noticed, but this month I'm running Holiday Commission Specials -- each week, I'll be doing a new theme, so you can get a character pin-up for much less than I usually charge.
This week's special is: XXXmas Sweaters! (NSFW)
I'll be starting to take pre-orders for Further Confusion soon; badges, full-page commissions, buttons, bottle openers, sketchbooks, etc. I'll be doing special themed badges just for the con (that will be popping up soon, probably right after the holidays), as well as hopefully having a book of my Sketch of the Day project available.
Likewise, if anyone going to Further Confusion wants to do a badge trade, speak up now. I am always happy to trade badges with other artists! Even moreso if you want to do a couples trade so I can get one done for SpotWeld as well :) I'll be noting this again after the holidays, when I start really ramping up for the convention.
So, come on over and get festive, and keep an eye on my account -- a new commission special will be popping up next Monday!

Lack of Activity Here OR Where to Find Me Now - PLEASE READ!
Posted 11 years agoNotice to Bawdy Bartender Group Project Artists: Attempting to run a project through a website that goes off the rails on a regular basis is NOT a good plan. If your email address is not easily locatable (on your front page, easily findable through Google, I already have it in my address book, etc.), PLEASE email it to me directly: tabbiewolf at gmail dot com. This project is currently very casual, and I hope to keep it that way (with a deadline sometime next year), but I still need a way of contacting all my artists :)
For Everyone Else: I'm not abandoning FA completely, but it's proven to be a very unreliable website. My uploads here have been sporadic at best anyway, so moving where I upload my once-in-a-blue-moon art pieces probably won't affect too much. I'll still upload things here, but I'll also be starting to upload my Sketch of the Day project to places other than Patreon now that I have a good stash built up :)
Best Place To Find My Most Recent Sketches (& Porn): http://www.patreon.com/tabbiewolf
Archive I Hope To Upload More To: https://www.weasyl.com/~tabbiewolf
Art Pops Up Occasionally, Mostly Me Rambling: http://twitter.com/tabbiewolf
One Day, This Will Be An Art Blog: http://willdrawforyou.tumblr.com
Holy Shit, I Still Have A LiveJournal: http://tabbiewolf.livejournal.com
As for FurAffinity, pieces I'm uberproud of and possibly Patreon "What'd You Miss" posts might show up, as will portfolio sales and so on -- this is still the best website for contacting the most people -- but I'm going to try to back away from using it as my catchall, upload all, start-projects-here website. I also hope to get an archive of my best pieces on my own personal website, and I'm sure I'll link to that when it happens.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: The Bawdy Bartender's Group Project!
Posted 11 years agoHey, everyone! As I work on the last few bits of my Bawdy Bartender cocktail book project (so many contributors' copies! I love it! NOT being sarcastic, believe it or not), I figured I should bring the idea back up for doing a group portfolio!
The portfolio will be done in the same style as my Bawdy Bartender book: pin-ups with cocktail recipes alongside them. The size of the pages will depend entirely on how many artists are interested in participating; right now I'm shooting for finding 11 artists (plus yours truly) for a 12-page portfolio — I'll figure out the lamination, binding, etc. (whether it'll be a book or a regular portfolio, really) after I get enough artists interested.
Here's the list that got acquired when I first started my other project:
1. MistyStriker
2. Sonderjen
3. Nikora Angeli
4. Kabuki Homewood
5. Syrusbliz
6. Beerhorse
7. VanDerWhoops - Rob Roy
8. Nightlinez
9. Emilyorange
10. ZenaDuma
11. Ziggy the Cat
12. AnjelKitty
13. Fenrislorsrai
It looks like we have hit 11! If any other artists are interested in participating please continue to comment! I'm not against making a bigger book :)
EDITED TO ADD: Hey, guys! I'm not slacking on you, i swear, but I'm up to my eyes in other projects this week. I'm going to try to get Notes/emails out about this project by the end of next week (by the 21st of November). I'm also looking into places to get it professionally printed (as compared to at home like my current project).
If you're on that list and NOT interested in participating anymore, please let me know!
Payment for participating artists will be: you'll get copies of the portfolio to sell at your table at conventions or online, give as gifts, taunt your friends with, etc. If it ends up being a book like my current version of the portfolio, that's a lot of work (and so many printer cartridges and lamination sheets…), so I hope you consider it a fair trade for amazing art :)
I've already gotten one submission from

Furpocalypse was great; book update!
Posted 11 years agoUnintentional rhyming, hooray!
Furpocalypse went great! Wonderful meeting and drawing new people, not to mention seeing friends :) A great followup convention to FurFright, which was my favorite con for the past 3 years.
Now that the con is over, I'm taking a day or two of quiet followed by making all the contributor copies of the Bawdy Bartender book :) I'm HOPING to start mailing those out on Friday, but I can't promise it -- con crud will sometimes show up midweek after a con, so I don't want to get too many hopes up!
The book will also be available for purchase this week! I'll be posting some art samplea from it soon, not to mention how to acquire it.
I will also be finishing any outstanding commissions from before the convention this week! Unless I get the crud (my immune system blows), anyway, meaning I'll be doing more commission specials soon -- keep an eye out!

Furpocalypse 2014! Con Meme
Posted 11 years agoWhere are you staying?
My house. I live a town over from where the hotel is =p
When will you be arriving/departing?
Will be setting up my table Thursday evening, clearing out Sunday when the Dealers Room & Gaming Room close.
Where is your Dealer's Table?
Smack-dab in the middle of the Dealer's Dungeon, space 21. TabbieWolf Will Draw For You. I'll have a ridiculous banner and will be pretty easy to find.
What will you be selling?
Commissions: con badges, full page, sketchbook, etc. If you can think of it, I am probably willing to draw it for you.
Buttons: SO MANY BUTTONS. Furry faces, geeky quotes, and Cards Against Humanity (got a favorite card? TELL ME NOW, I can make a button of it!), with a couple cutie marks thrown in.
Comics & Portfolios: I've drawn a few and will have them for sale at my table!
Tigerdile Spawn: They are plush and adorable and you need 6.
The Bawdy Bartender Book: My newest portfolio; a book of cute & sexy pinups that is also a recipe book of cocktails! A perfect addition to your bar. It will be appearing here later this week, but will be available in person at the convention.
Do you do trades?
If you catch me when I'm not busy. I love badge trades, and if you're interested and can let me know now that would be even better than letting me know at the con :)
Can I talk to you?
Please do! If you see me drawing, don't be afraid to chat — I'm listening, I swear!
I need to get a shirt or a sign that says that.
If I see you, how can I get your attention?
Throw money at me!
No, seriously, just saying "Tabbie!" will normally do it. Though the money is nice. I will also accept bribes of chocolate, beer, and Diet Coke.
Can I take your picture?
I'd rather you didn't, in all honesty. I tend to look completely washed out & mildly ill under florescent lights.
Can I buy you a drink?
If I'm not busy arting, sure. Just know I AM married and Sheffields charges WAY too much for their booze ;)
What do I look for to find you?
5'7" white girl, blondish-brown shoulder-length hair, glasses, nerdy t-shirt or tie-dye hoodie depending on how cold it is, usually behind my dealer's table or in the gaming room with my husband,
spotweld (who is Gaming Director of Furpocalypse).
Do you do parties?
I like hanging out with other artists, but getting stupid-drunk outside my own house is not my idea of fun. Please don't be annoyed at me if I turn down your invite — art comes first at conventions!
What other cons are you going to?
I'll be at Further Confusion in California next year, as well as ReGeneration Who (a new Doctor Who convention in Maryland) in March and ConnectiCon in July :) All my upcoming cons can be found on my main page here.

This could be because I'm catching up (I spent a good deal of yesterday finishing up a lot of the art), or it could be because I do not have your PayPal address. I can also accept Square Cash -- which is better because it has no fee (but you have to remember to email me your mailing address). Again, please note or email me concerning this.
If you have received your sketch and not approved it, IT HAS PROBABLY ALREADY BEEN INKED, IF NOT COLORED. I sent out the most recent batch something like a week ago (or longer), you've had plenty of time. I'm working on a deadline here and want to have these books finished for Furpocalypse, meaning that I'm just going to plow ahead if I don't hear from you. If you haven't paid me, you won't get a copy of the book OR of your pin-up, but your pin-up might still be in the book! I only haven't heard at all (note, email, Twitter, whatever; I'm pretty reachable) from one person, and they've been removed from the book completely because of it.
(Please note, everyone: I do NOT treat regular commissions this way. But some of these sketches went out weeks ago and I've been pretty public about my deadline for this project.)

Because someone asked...
"COMPLETE" means the art has been approved for print.
"INKED & COLORED, INVOICE PAID" means that the art is as done as I can get it to be and the invoice has been paid, so it has been emailed. Basically a "waiting for further instruction in case I screwed up the colors." If your slot is marked as this and you HAVEN'T received the art, PLEASE CONTACT ME.
"INKED & COLORED, NEEDS CORRECTIONS" means that the colors are screwed up and I need to fix them. These have all been paid for -- and apologies for the delay on these, guys, I've been BUSY. SO MUCH ART. :)
Does anyone know
kimor? I sent him his sketch a few weeks ago and I know he got my note but I haven't heard anything from him about it. His art has been inked & colored because like I said, I'm plowing through these at this point, but he will not receive the art or the book if I don't receive payment!
Thank you to everyone participating, and apologies if I'm coming off as a little curt! One day I will get a secretary to handle all the paperwork/invoices/receipts/etc. ;)
And I haven't even touched the actual printing and production part of this yet...gonna be a busy 2 weeks upcoming.

Bawdy Bartender Book - PARTICIPANTS, PLEASE READ!
Posted 11 years agoHi, everyone!
I'm still updating my previous journal with my progress, this is just a general notice to everyone who is getting a pin-up in the book!
I have sent out 3/4 of the sketches and will hopefully be finishing the rest of the sketches before Wednesday, October 1! I will not ink and color your sketch until:
1) I get approval from you! The sketch is your chance to tell me you want another pose, different theming, et cetera! I do not mind being told to change stuff at this point and I highly encourage it because if you don't tell me at the sketch stage, changing it at the already-inked-and-colored stage makes things much more difficult for me!
2) I get paid! This book is being funded by the commissions I'm doing for it -- they're what are going to allow me to print, laminate, bind, & ship it!
If I do not have your email address, you will be receiving your sketch via FA notes. Please check them and tell me what you think of your sketch!
WAITING LIST:
If I don't hear from you after sending your sketch, I'm going to assume you aren't interested in participating anymore and give your spot to someone else or remove your spot from the book completely. Also I will be mildly annoyed I just wasted my time drawing you something for free -- art is my job, guys, please don't take advantage of that.
If you are interested in participating in this project ($45 cocktail-themed commissions, you get a printed copy of the cocktail book full of pin-ups mailed to you) and would like to be added to the waiting list, please shoot me an email (tabbiewolf at gmail dot com) or send me a note here on FA :)
I am still setting a deadline for October 31st to have books done, however it should be noted: they probably will not be shipped until after that, since it's a convention weekend!
Again, it must be noted: Life will always be a higher priority than art, and hence, sometimes gets in the way of getting stuff done. I really am setting myself to finish this project by October 31st, but please do not set your clocks by it! The project WILL be completed, and hopefully your art will be received in your email well before October 31st, BUT sometimes fidgety things will mess up production time (if my laminator breaks, for instance, or it takes someone longer to ship my binding supplies).
Still, PLEASE respond to my emails and FA notes! You guys are the reason I can pull this project off, and the sooner I hear from you regarding how you like your sketches, the better!
Thanks so much for participating in my project, everyone! Be sure to keep up with my In Progress List to see how things are going!

Bawdy Bartender Update, Vacation!
Posted 11 years agoHey, guys!
I've sent out the first 6 sketches for the Bawdy Bartender book, and they've all been approved! One has been inked & colored, another is nearly finished, and I hope to get the other 4 inked and colored quickly, but I may not be able to do it before my upcoming vacation.
Me and
spotweld will be leaving on Wednesday, and will not have access to my computer until Monday, September 8th. You have NOT been forgotten about, nor has anyone who's in the list to be sketched! Our trip to Walt Disney World, however, is currently my top priority :D
Work on the portfolio will hopefully be resuming next week (barring illness, plane crashes, etc.)! If you'd like to see the work in progress, just a reminder that a few of the sketches and finished pieces will be popping up on my Sketch of the Day project: http://www.patreon.com/tabbiewolf
Do I seem excited? I'm totally excited. WOOOO DISNEY WOOOOORLD!

Five Nights At Freddy's vs. BoJack Horseman
Posted 11 years agoI admittedly haven't been looking for it, but it seems an alarming amount of people have sexualized the creepy robots from Five Nights At Freddy's (which I haven't played and have no real desire to play; nothing against it, just not my thing) but a cartoon with anthropomorphic animals in mature situations hasn't had nearly the same response.
Perhaps I'm just watching the wrong accounts, I guess? I don't really WANT porn of either, but it seems amazing to me that a cartoon that is basically asking for porn of it to be drawn of it -- it's basically a syndicated furry cartoon -- is not getting nearly the same response as a video game that isn't.
I've been advised that really, people are just trying to hit the "shock" buttons, which...is sad. Come on, guys.
~*~
Also wondering passively when we'll get Will Arnett, et al, at Anthrocon. Get Michael Eisner, guys, he owns the company that made the cartoon ;)

FA Downtime - Bartender's Book Update - PLEASE READ! :D
Posted 11 years agoHey, guys!
Just a quick note: If you are someone in the list of folks for the Bartender's Book, I am in the process of saving all reference material in an offline fashion for easy access when FA is doing maintenance. That way, if it takes longer than noted (as happens often here; the challenges of running a super popular website! And I say this 100% WITHOUT sarcasm #seriously), I will still be able to work on this project :)
Likewise, if you are a pin-up model in the list in the first project or an artist interested in the second, please EMAIL ME (I'd say shoot me a Note, but I don't want all the Notes lost during maintenance or something!). My email address is tabbiewolf at gmail dot com. Emails will be used for sketches, final art, and for me to send you a PayPal invoice. Basically it's my fallback reference for everything, and will be extremely handy to have as I progress through the project. And if FA goes down for whatever reason.
Speaking of PayPal, pricing update: I totally and utterly forgot to include shipping costs in my original price quote. Hopefully folks will not mind another $5 added, bringing the final price for art, book, and shipping of the book to $45. If you prefer, you can pick it up from me at a convention, but since I only am going to two furry cons in the near future (Furpocalypse in October and Further Confusion in January 2015), you might wanna have it shipped :)
Artists: I was going to do payment for this by giving you several (3 - 5?) copies of the portfolio to sell on your own, and also allowing you to purchase any more copies purely for cost of materials. I haven't done a group project like this before, though, so if anyone has any input on this, PLEASE tell me! It's very much a learning process for me right now :) Likewise, we're still 4 artists away from me really starting to require anything from anybody, so feel free to spread word around about this.
Thanks a lot for reading this update on the Bawdy Bartender's Book project, and I will do my best to keep everyone informed as it progresses!
Outside of the book, if you want to keep track of me this weekend during downtime (you creepy, creepy person you), I'm always available on Twitter, on Tumblr, via email, and the best place for art updates is over on my Patreon. Weekends are usually pretty slow times for art anyhow, so eh :)
