Posted 10 years agoThis is what journals are for I suppose so lets go! I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been and may continue to be a bit scarce through the end of the year. I've got 3 overlapping big projects at work that are weighing heavily on my head and honestly when I've been getting home all I want to do is shut off. While I'm still doodling silly things I've not worked on much finished art but intend to get back into it when IRL work stuff calms down. So in closing if I seem to be offline a lot or not as social it's not because I'm avoiding you or anyone else, just need to focus work projects so they don't cause me to lose any more of my mind.

Art/Story Commission Opportunities! Collab w/ Caudle!

My own projects and working on art for a couple panels I run at MFM have kept me very busy along with a hectic IRL work schedule, but I've managed to hopefully have a lot of this work settled by laborday weekend. In light of that I've teamed up with Caudle to help him get some funds for Bronycon and also to dip my toes back into taking some commission work. Check his link below for details but basically there are a few spots open on his roster where you get a kicking rad story from him plus I'll draw a scene from the story to go along with it. Examples of the art and such are in his post, and we'll coordinate with the customers on what scene to draw etc. If it goes well we'll open up for some more down the road, so go help support a talented author and get some art along with his wordcraft! Subject matter is all along the lines of what Caudle is comfy with, go chat at them :3

GameMaker Studio Coding - Help!

I'm working on learning gamemaker studio and would like to chat with anyone who has experience coding in it, most specifically looking for a grapple system, and I'm going to code it from scratch but if anyone had any code that might help I thought I would at least ask before re-inviting the wheel ;D So if you know someone or have some knowledge yourself and are able to help let me know, thanks!
Here is what I'm trying to do:
I'm doing this all in code, and trying to make it so when my player object and enemy object collide they both disappear and a new object with an animated sprite of the two grappling shows up in their place and remains there until the player hits a key to release, in which case the player sprite comes back and the enemy sprite is destroyed (the player loses HP but the struggling kills the enemy, when player collides with enemies enough times the game is over).
I have had someone suggest in passing that I should create a grapple object and give it the ID of both the player and enemy object for tracking. I don't understand that suggestion so if someone could explain that would be awesome, OR if you have your own way to code this particular issue please let me know :D

FWA - The planets align!
Posted 10 years agoSo I've been on the fence about going to FWA this year just because of general laziness, but oddly enough I'll be 2 hours from Atlanta the day before the convention for work things, so I'm planning to make it a long weekend and go to the con through Sunday. Who else be going?

If Seahawks win you have to doodle something for me, if Patriots win I have to doodle something for you ;D Nothing serious just fun, just reply here and tell me what you think the end score will be with the patriots winning, I'll pick the one who guesses the closest, and if there are multiple I'll pick one at random from the ones that matched.
If the Patriots lose, then I'll pick the person who owes me a doodle from the closest score total for the Patriots, and if tied I'll pick at random from the pool.
Personally I'm a Bengals fan but since they got knocked out the Seahawks are the lesser evil <3
I may not be able to work on my trade until the start of March, just a heads up, maybe sooner ;D
