Their exposed bones and tears in their flesh remain adhered to their body, evidence showing that miners were truly trapped, not even the bacteria able to release them from eternal undeath.

Confused and deranged, they envy the lives of surface dwellers, living beneath the sun, their ragged breathes exhaling the soot from their shrivelled lungs. Left to die in their cold, damp stone cells, they await a new purpose.
