Found a scanner
General | Posted 16 years agoWhile I was having scanner issues here at home, I just found out I can use a scanner free at the college library. So now I have no excuse for not uploading more 'art'. So, I guess I should apologize in advance.
Another update
General | Posted 16 years agoI'm hopefully going back to school in the fall, for Computer Programmer, but since I've been out of school for so long, I've got to 'update' my hhigh school credits. Fun to be redoing Grade 12. So far things are going pretty well, I'm done 4 of 12 units of the Grade 12 Math, and got a 98% average right now.
I'm doing some of the credits online, and they start next week. I'm trying to make myself go online for at least a couple of hours each day, to get into the habit for when I doing them. I'm hoping that between the in class credits, and the online credits, I can get some of the cobwebs and rust out of my mind, BEFORE I (hopefully) start school this fall.
The reason I'm going back to school is I got laid off in February, and the Ontario government has a program for laid off workers to get retrained for a new career. I've always been interested in Computers, and figure there's always going to be a need for people to write the programs for them, so... Unfortunately, I'm having to fight to get the course of study I want, as I'm a truck driver. The Ontario government is still paying for people to go through and get their licenses, so they think I should be having no problem getting a new job. Unfortunately, I will not go long haul trucking any more, as I have five children that I want to see grow up. I already missed several years when I drove over the road before, and I won't do it again. Besides, even those jobs are scarse with the economy the way it is right now.

FCN
General | Posted 16 years agoGot to go to FCN this past weekend. My friend Tef took me along. It was lots of fun. Got to meet up with Cmdr Kitsune, who put us up for the night, Cyrus, Tamar, Kyote, Red-dog, and lots more tagging along with Tef. It was incredible watching Tamar work. Kyote has mad skills as well. Red-dog did some work in minutes that would have taken me hours (and still not been near as good as her).
It's a little daunting to be a fledling self-taught doodler, when I see the hordes of talented people at cons. I know I don't practise anywhere near enough, and everything I know I've learned out of a book (several books actually). I can do the odd good piece, if I'm take enough time, so there's hope I could get better.

Pics
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I finally got a couple of pics posted. One is the very first furry pic I drew. The other is probably my best work, so far. Or at least it was until I tried to color and shade it. It didn't turn out quite like I wanted it, but it isn't too bad. It's a superhero character called Wolf Star. He's a red wolf (not a fox), that got turned into a living star. His powers are always on. He generates his own gravity field (which he can manipulate, to attract or repel articles or people; to 'lift' incredible weights; to fly; and maybe more). In addition, he can radiate anything that a star can (x-rays, heat, infrared to unltraviolet light, and assorted other radiations (gamma rays, plasma, et cetera)).
Update
General | Posted 18 years agoBeen A while since I posted anything at all here. Things have been a little hectic around here, so I haven't even been online much.
Big Snowstorm here last night, so Tef had to crash here. We laughed this morning when we heard our respective siblings had gotten a lot more snow than us (we got 6-10 inches, they got about 18 inches) (We've got just over a foot or so on the ground. Before last night they had about 11 feet.) I love living in the banana belt!
Just got back from supper with Dad. It was a good time. Just went out for pizza, but we like our pizza. Not too much too exciting going on here. Kids are off for March Break. Dad's thinking about bringing the kids to an indoor amusement park over the Break. I don't get to go, due to work.
I've actually done some pencil sketches. I've decided that I need to actually post some pics, so I'm going to go through the hard drive and see what I've got scanned in. Might Scan some of the new sketches and post them. I need to draw a lot more, so I can get better. Still awful at inking and coloring, but that's supposed to improve with time and practice. I'd really appreciate any criticism, once I get some pics up.
