Fully Back....sort of
Posted 15 years agoSo after a full factory reset, Windows has proven itself nothing but a heap of problems once again. First, I had to make sure that my video card was in fact fully repaired so I installed steam. For some rescan every game I played on steam was lagging beyond all hell. So after fully wiping steam out and reinstalling it seems to be holding up alright this time around so far.
Another problem is with my tablet. The tablet it self is fine, but the drivers keep 'dying' on me. It will install fine but after a restart the drivers wont work. I tired rolling back to an older version, but that only brought up new problems. Single click (one tap) is now some how double click, even when its set on single click in the tablet settings.... It used to work fine before I rest the PC, so I don't know whats wrong.
Some other issues include video card driver crashes (Still, this has been happing all the time through out the years), performance issues on a wide verity of applications, again nothing new there as well. I'm just getting really sick and tired of Windows just not working lol
So I HOPE to get these bugs ironed out, but its really out of my hands in a way. I have been getting some art done and writings, which I hope to have posted soon. All my files that where backed up are not back on the computer so thats good. Takes sometime to get things back to normal is all.

Posted 15 years agoYep, turns out my old Vaio still works, somewahat that is. The screen today went black out of nowhere, it came back on after a force shutdown so thats good I guess....
My Dell is going to take like another 2 weeks of repair, so awesome. Funny how you get the urge to draw, when you dont have the tools to do so. I have OC installed, so if anyone wants to do that! :D be warned I suck in OC, I draw better in sketchbook pro haha

Should have gotten a Mac… [Break and hiatus]
Posted 15 years agoOk, my computer is more fucked up than first thought…I mean really F’d in the A. Apparently after I backed up everything to my external hard drive, my computer now tells me it can’t reset itself back to factory defaults. I tired the BIOS route, didn’t work, and the in software windows route, didn’t work.
So before I give this thing back to Bestbuy I guess I‘ll have to manually delete my files on the comp since I don’t really want people looking at the certain…items, I have. So now the GPU is fired, the motherboard and BIOS doesn’t work. Whats next? I’m starting to think maybe Bestbuy is just going to have to get me a whole new machine.
So when I send it in for repairs, it will take two to three weeks. This would be a good time to ‘get away from it all’ Don’t get me wrong I like the furfandom, but knowing me I do need long breaks from its drama every few years. So, I will not be on FA or on MSN (Live) during the next few weeks, and probably longer, as I will thoroughly test the PC when I get it back and its summer break for me.
I would like to say I would get some art done during this break (HAHA) but since I do my art on the comp as well as my writing, this will not be possible.

A few nights after I finished a round of versus on Left 4 Dead I switched over to Left 4 dead 2 where a good buddy of mine invited me to another round of VS. When I joined in the round everything was fine for about 2 minutes, then disaster struck…
My screen went jagged and neon funky colors. The sound was stuck in a buzzed screeching loop. And the entire PC was frozen. I couldn’t crtl+alt+delete or anything, it was totally stuck. So I had to hold the power button down to force shut it down. After a clean start up and no hardware failure pop windows, I started the game up again and rejoined the round. Lasted about one minute this time before the exact same thing happened again.
So after another force shut down I thought ‘Well maybe I just have to reinstall L4D2’. I started up EvE Online, which I run in a window, and was browsing with Firefox. I brought EvE up front and center again and left to get some water. When I got back I found the screen completely screwed up again. I have the EvE client sound disabled so I couldn’t tell it was doing the same audio screw-up.
So heres the thing…I can’t tell if the 1.5 year old GPU is toast or not. Right now I’m running Vista Aero just fine. Glass effect on, all eye candy running, flip 3D, etc. So obviously the GPU isn’t completely dead or it would have gone to shit 16-bit color, classic windows UI, and 600 by 400 res.
As of right now doing regular tasks like Word, WMP, Firefox, IM, everything is fine. I find it odd if the GPU is dying, why it would make the sound and entire PC just freeze up completely? I don’t think the CPU, RAM, PSU, or hard drive is having any issues since startup went without a hitch and theres no errors popping up, along with regular desktop use going fine.
Steps I have taken so far:
1. GPU wasn’t overheating; I checked the temp logs and the hottest it ever gets is 80C, never any higher.
2. Checked for driver updates. Theres no new BOIS updates and motherboard updates won’t install properly anyways. I have a most recent version of the GPU drivers, there is a tiny new one out, but it updates nothing to what is causing this.
3. I dusted out the case as well. The GPU does idle a lot cooler now, but it still crashes when playing games.
If all else fails, Bestbuy is having a sale on the 470 GTX, but that thing is really over kill for current my system (Core 2 duo with a 1.0 PCI-E slot) plus its still costly. The logic of me getting it is that I am looking for a new desktop, so I would swap that card out and put it into the new PC.
So what do you guys think? Whats happening here, what could I do to solve it? Anything that I’m missing to fix this?

Posted 17 years agoIs it just me, or are headset drastically declining in quality? Its understandable I need to replace my head set every year or so, but now I have to replace them every 4 months. With in that time the speakers are blown out, the mic no longer works, and the thing just physically breaks. And that’s not even the worst part.
All of bestbuy’s headsets now suck. Their over priced, flimsy pieces of shit. I went in to replace my headset that had blown out, and they pointed me to a so called newer and better model. I got home and unpacked it (Cutting my self while doing so) and found out they were crapy on top of ear speakers (I like over the ear ones). I though well maybe the quality is really good. Totally wrong. The sound is airy with no base and the mic has to be turned up ALL THE WAY just too even make a whisper. On top of that the thing I know is going to snap or break in some way after a week’s normal use.
And heres even more icing for ya. I bought a 2 year warranty with it two, on the previous model but it’s still good to 2010. So I could just go back and get a new headset theoretically, but the problem is I got their best model, which as you know now totally sucks ass. So I’m screwed over until the next months “better” models come out, which will most likely be even more crappier than this one.
Circuitcity has a really nice headset, the Ear Force X-52, but Bestbuy doesn’t have it. I don’t know what to do….

New Computerz!......Yeah...
Posted 17 years agoOkay, so laptops are not for me. Shortly after playing around with it for a while I discovered a huge flaw in laptops: The screens are not as good as their desktop counter parts. For example, Tak’s jersey color in my pics are purple color, however on the laptops screen it was a bright blue. Another example is my most recent dev (Buff Eric Approves) his fur color was a dull, muddy red rather than a vibrant sexy red x3
To make sure it just wasn’t a faulty screen I test out other laptop screens, my theory was correct. Once you go desktop, you can’t really change. The colors are duller and inaccurate, which is not good for doing art. The funny thing is….I don’t really draw a lot and yet I shipped it back. Games looked totally fine, I guess that artist inside me, no matter how small, drew (heh) the last straw. So until laptop screens go OLED screen tech, I’ll be sticking to desktops. And yeah I understand I could just plug a notebook into a screen, but to me that kind of shoots down the point of having a laptop in the first place.
So I went down to best but and got a Dell XPS 630. It was open box so I got it just over 1grand. I had some problems reformatting I, but now it seems ok…..I only have 14 days to make sure however. Dell is a good brand and their machines tend to last longer. My first “real” PC (I don’t count a Packardbell with MS-DOS 3 a computer lol) that I owned was a dell and it lasted for like a decade until I gave it to my brother when I got my Vaio and he got it a virus. Plus I’m so glad I have an external hard drive XP

New Commputerz!

So I finally got a new computer, a Gateway P-7811. Its a gaming laptop with a 1080P screen. While that great screen res. sounds nice, every thing is like 3 times smaller. My old desktop had a 19" screen of 1280 by 1024. So now I'm on a 17" (Widescreen) with 1920 by 1200. So very small x3. But on the bright side, Laptop, so I can now bring my games with meh where ever I go. Way more powerful, jumping form a Nvidia 6800 to 9800 with twice the memory, so all games cranked to teh max including Crysis (Not that great of a game really) and Bioshock (System Shock 2 is way better). Also Vista is better than I thought it would be, but as always Windows sucks ass.
I have been drawing a little bit more. I'll be posting a new pic soon. I just have to now get used to drawing on a laptop with such a high res. screen lol Plus where I'm going to put the tablet, If I where to put it in front of the PC the screen would be to far away. Oc does not work on Vista 64 bit....DAMN!

So I finally got a new computer, a Gateway P-7811. Its a gaming laptop with a 1080P screen. While that great screen res. sounds nice, every thing is like 3 times smaller. My old desktop had a 19" screen of 1280 by 1024. So now I'm on a 17" (Widescreen) with 1920 by 1200. So very small x3. But on the bright side, Laptop, so I can now bring my games with meh where ever I go. Way more powerful, jumping form a Nvidia 6800 to 9800 with twice the memory, so all games cranked to teh max including Crysis (Not that great of a game really) and Bioshock (System Shock 2 is way better). Also Vista is better than I thought it would be, but as always Windows sucks ass.
I have been drawing a little bit more. I'll be posting a new pic soon. I just have to now get used to drawing on a laptop with such a high res. screen lol Plus where I'm going to put the tablet, If I where to put it in front of the PC the screen would be to far away. Posted 17 years agoAll righty, sorry this took so long. I caught this flu thing and I was down for a week and school got REALLY hard XP Nothing better then getting sick right before finals week. I’ve been drawing a bit more lately and, uhhhhh, nothing really that new.
Ah yeah, as much of you may know I’m a big Apple computer fan XD So my views on the 2008 start: Apple tv looks awesome. Plus the updates to the iPhone are cool too. My thoughts about the Macbook Air: It looks really nice and all, but don’t expect to see me with one. I need port connectivity and a DVD drive XP Plus I need a good video card and a 1080 HD screen resolution. It’s a good step forward for the laptop world, but not for gamers. I’m really interested to see how that wireless CD drive feature thing will work. I think that’s going to be a software crackers dream though XD
In other news, my router has died. So we got another one (other Linksys in which I’m kinda regretting) which is a wireless N. I kinda want to return it. Problem with FA
Posted 18 years agoSo FA went under yet another system downtime thing, and now they claim everything is back, when its not. I can load user pages again but I cant check my messages. I logged on and off the site to see if that would clear the errors up on my end but now I know for sure its FA.
So now my messages are adding up on me and I cant do a thing about it XD So I'm stuck for the time being, oh well. Back to Battlefield 2142 *sigh*.......rofl X3~

I'm not joking XD Plus I play many other games to, not counting those but its safe to say computer games have always been in my life since I was a small cute puppy X3~ But now I'm sexy and cute so its all good! 8D

Posted 18 years agoI’m not much for updating my journals, but I guess it’s about time again. I’m glad a lot of people had fun at AC, though I heard it was expensive X3~ Right now at home we’re saving up to get a plasma HD flat-panel (God fucking yesh! lol), along with some other tech goodies such as a new digital camera and so forth. Not to mention all of our appliances deiced to die on us XP I mean seriously…they all died at once like weeks apart. Stove, washer and dryer, furnace, water heater, refrigerator, all had to be replaced with new ones. Now our large freezer and dishwasher are starting to break down >_0. So yeah, things are going to be tight for a bit here XP
Anyways summer vacation is going kinda boring, my area just got over a large heat wave to. I hate hot weather x.x , I love winter for its cold weather so I can’t wait till’ winter again. All I have been doing is playing PC games XD I’ve also screwed up my sleeping pattern; I’m awake at night and sleep during the day. I should be drawing, I know. XP I’ve been told I need to draw new poses, so I need drawing ideas STAT lol so post them or IM meh Plz.

Posted 18 years agoAs most you have seen I had another little art boost drawing time. Now I’m coming to halt again X3 Anyways I’ve had some people ask about if they could have their chars be in the story. I wasn’t planning on the story to become big, but if you want to be in it, that’s fine with meh. Just send me a note.
This is all new to me XD adding people to a story. I kinda have a basic outline of how the story is going to travel, but if you want to put in a request about your char and what you want him or her to be doing, their job, lifestyle, ect. That’s all so welcome. I’ll see what I can do.
For those who haven't read the chapters so far, Higher than lower is about me (or my furry side) going to a college, since I'm not going to be in one in RL. I've had this story idea in my head for about over a year, and I'm now finally writing it.
