Fredrik Miller is a phenomenal trance artist who I've been following for years. He was one of the first musicians I ever subscribed to here on FA. He's using this Kickstarter-like site to fund an album. I can tell you, without even knowing what songs are going on to be on it, that it will be fantastic. Check out his gallery or the links on the page if you don't believe me.

For 10 Euros, you can get a digital download of the album once it's complete. I went with the 15 Euro physical option (~$20). If you like trance music, I cannot recommend Fredrik highly enough.

Here is a link to a Kickstarter for a Columbus, Ohio based games development team trying to, well, develop a game. I'm interested in this because one of the devs is a friend of mine. The page actually doesn't tell you a whole lot about the game itself, but given how Kickstarters I've joined in the past work, that could change over time. The idea of video games being made in Columbus is actually pretty neat, and the second video goes into that a bit.

I dunno, it sounds like a good idea, they have some nice pledge prizes, give it a check out and see what you can do. Okay? Okay.

I've spent the last two months or so retagging 6000+ MP3s after having upgraded to Winamp 5. @_@ Oy. It did have the benefit of letting me find and fix a number of problems, at least. So now I can do stuff again! Maybe! Yay!

So, uh, is anyone still out there? Still watching me, waiting for, I dunno, the next I Love Music or something? :B Because I haven't posted one in over a year now. D: I've got three sitting on my hard drive, ready to be edited, too. Oh well. Hopefully I can get back to it soon, because I have plans. Oh yes.

So I've been kinda quiet lately. Partially, that's because my time not taken up by work is taken up by ponies. But it's not like I haven't had time to edit sound files.

No, the issue has been having no way to do so.

My lovely pirated copy of Sound Forge borked earlier this year, and my trial of Sound Forge Studio (a stripped-down version) ran out later on. I then sat on my butt and did precisely nothing about this for months on end.

Well, all that has come to a close. I dropped the $65 on Sony's ass and installed it just now. Like the title says, I'm back in business, baby (and finally reencoding those Chicago-lollie tracks I got off Bandcamp... probably back in January!) Expect more stuff!

Searching for a place where I can talk about my ex and she won't see it. c.c It's either here or ponyfic place, and I don't think they care about my personal life. Not that you guys do either.

Well, in the last month, my ex-fiancee -- who I'm still friends with, inasmuch as we have each other friended on Facebook -- has both gotten a job and apparently gotten into a relationship. And I am incredibly, genuinely happy for her, because at the time we called it off (a year ago next month), she was just so phenomenally depressed and I've had a difficult time chatting with her online because of it. So that she's finally turning her life around gives me hope that she hasn't given up on the world.

But let me repeat something: she's in a new relationship, and I am incredibly, genuinely happy for her. Or I was until I realized that I've been missing her something fierce lately and that's it now. No more wishing. And it's like, shit, what do I do? I have to "get over her", but I don't actually know what that means.

So, uh, suggestions would be helpful. Unfortunately, getting back into dating just isn't an option while I'm in my parents' place. I've done that once before, and it's just not sexy.

It's a depressing kind of evening.

I just looked through all my stats. My latest submission, ILM 20, has not even 20 views. The one before it has over 300, but that's probably because of the pony thumbnail; most ILMs seem to gather between 60 and 100 views. My stories? Less than half that, more on par with ILM 20. Things that are obviously furry get way more views.

This just confirms what I've known for the last two years or so: people here don't give two shits about writing. Glad I stopped trying to promote it.

Like I've been saying, I might actually do these on a regular basis now.

So Monday at 9 AM, I'll be starting a new job. It's been 9 months (more or less exactly) since I lost my old one, but all that searching has finally paid off. I would say expect fewer updates, but... I pretty much don't update anyway, so you won't notice anything different. :V

As for the inquiry, I need a new music editing software. I've been pirating using Sony Sound Forge for years, but ever since I got my new system, it's been having problems where saving a file over 4 minutes long will sometimes result in data loss. It's weird, too, affecting specific files over multiple retries, and some files not at all. I've got an album of music (purchased, mind you) that I need to convert to a format my winamp will actually play, and no means of doing so. :(

The functionality I need are things like noise gating, volume control, whitespace trimming (that's a big one) and the ability to directly manipulate wavs and MP3s -- cutting and pasting and so forth. Help!
