Remember to not use FA as your only way of communication
Posted a year agoAnyone can get banned for any reason at any time, and if you only keep contact through FA notes, you're fucked.
Other sites and deleting some old (pokemon) stuff
Posted 2 years agoI thought thanks to my inability to draw cute my artworks were safe from the recent rule change especially since I normally made sure to don't stay too close (but still pretty close I guess) to the original design. However from reading other peoples experiences it seems that people also got banned for feral stuff since some moderators are unable to tell feral and semi feral creatures apart from anthro cubs (kinda understandable to some extend). This feels a bit like the ban on feral they tried to get away with once (older users might remember) but sneaking in through the back door this time.
Anyway, after recent news I simply deleted all my Pokemon stuff and pretty much all NSFW content that wasn't simply "human but with an animal head", just to be sure. Some things, I can't even reupload somewhere else anymore because I don't have the original files anymore. But that's not too bad since it was mostly very old and ugly stuff, from back when I was doodling stuff on AGNPHs Oekaki board with Insomniac and the gang in 2006 or whenever.
I probably keep all non-anthro stuff away from FA in the future, just to make sure. However since I heard about people getting banned just for having commissioned certain artists, maybe that wont be enough after all.
Unrelated (but also kinda not), here are other sites I post:
Social Media:
https://meow.social/@Takiro (Doodles, artworks, shitposts and general social media stuff. Doesn't require a log-in to view stuff.)
Galleries:
https://ko-fi.com/takiro/gallery (SFW)
https://artfight.net/~Takiro (SFW)
https://www.weasyl.com/~takiro (contains some of the deleted stuff)
https://takiro.sofurry.com/ (contains some of the deleted)
https://itaku.ee/profile/takiro (still empty but I will upload some selected works soon and then keep it up to date)

Gone from Twitter, account deleted.
Posted 3 years agoHey folks
As a holiday gift to myself I deleted my Twitter account. My social media is now on Meow.social. I sometimes post doodles and other art stuff there, that doesn't go to my FA gallery; everything the same as with twitter, basically.
I probably won't go over all the descriptions in my old submissions and remove the links or re-upload images where they're in. I just hope there doesn't come an asshole and take over my old username to pretend to be me or some bullshit.

How do I get rid of "Support me with Shinies"?
Posted 3 years agoIt looks like I can't get rid of the "Support me with Shinies" next to my username other than disabling it altogether, am I correct? I don't want to look like I'm begging people for money.
I deleted all my works on DeviantArt because AI bullshit
Posted 3 years agoI revived my old DA account some time ago in the hopes to reach more people who like fluffy animal drawings but don't want anything to do with the furry fandom. Deviant art decided to fuck their entire artist user base by introducing their own AI image generator and include all the artworks on their site by default. You had to manually opt-out every single piece one by one. They changed that already after a massive shit storm but I bet they have another one right up their sleeves. I decided my artworks are not safe there and deleted all of them.

If you consider switching from CSP subscription to Krita
Posted 3 years agoHey guys.
CSP announced to switch their payment plans to paid updates and subscription and it spawned a wave of negative responses on twitter.
I already saw a lot of "I simply switch to Krita then" comments but when you think you can just simply replace CSP with Krita you probably get disappointed.
I use Krita since almost ten years now, and I love this program for digital painting. If your really consider switching you should know some things. Here is a short list of features CSP users are often missing (as in: it's missing from Krita) when they switch over to Krita.
- text tool is currently wonky, it always had problems. No support for vertical text or rendering text along a path. No word art. If you have to work with text a lot you probably don't want to do this in Krita.
- vector tools are there but very limited. I mostly use it for speech bubbles and comic frames.
- animation is possible, with onion skins and stuff. No automatic tweening and audio still is buggy. Krita relies on ffmpeg for rendering animations.
- there is no support for mouse drawing like there is in CSP, without a graphics tablet you are basically locked out of the cool brush features.
- some people seem to think that there isn't an eraser in Krita but in fact every brush can be toggled into eraser mode and there are some erase-only brush presets you can put on the eraser end of your pen. There is however, no vector eraser.
- the brush engine is a lot different (actually Krita has multiple different engines), you can't (from what I know) import brushes from CSP or PS (only brush tips for PS).
- people complain there are no clipping mask in Krita but it has alpha inheritance which is basically the same but a bit different to set up.
- PS files are not really supported because of licensing issues and the differences in the programs. As far as I know CSP files cant be opened with Krita because the files are encrypted and the specifications not open
- Krita doesn't use the graphics card for much other than rendering the UI and Canvas, hence all operations like filterers, masks and stuff are done by the CPU.
- there is no iOS version of Krita (since the software license is not compatible with the store) and consider the Android version a Beta (the UI isn't optimized for small screens). Supported are Linux ( I recommend the AppImage because it has a patched Qt and G'mic filters included), Windows and MacOS.
- the fill tool has no gap detection, yet. most people use a feature called colorize mask, that has it.
- no asset store
- no 3D models you can pose and draw over but assistants for perspective exist.
- Krita has just 10 paid developers
There's probably more but that's what I remember CSP users often asking for when coming to the Krita forums.
Krita's main goal was to be a software for digital painting, so it naturally does some things different. It recently got more features for comic artists and for animation. I think it's an incredible software for it's 0 money price tag but I just wanted to list some points that could annoy you or be an deal breaker for you and are good to know when you want to try it and come from CSP.
By the way, there is a paid version on Steam and some stores like Microsoft, the version is exactly the same as the free one on the website. Only thing it does is basically sending a donation to the team.

Got interviewed by the Krita Painting guys :3
Posted 7 years agoHi folks,
as you may or may not know, I use the Kirta Painting App for my Artworks. A few Weeks ago one of the Krita people saw one of my artworks on twitter and asked me if I want to give an interview about me as an artist and my experiences with the program.
It is now available here https://krita.org/en/item/interview.....th-takiro-ryo/
I've to admit that I'm a bit proud, even though it's just a set of standard questions. Being recognized as a furry artist outside of the furry fandom is something that feels very special to me. :3

Thanks for buying my art. Send pics please :3
Posted 8 years agoSo EF23 ended a few days ago. It was really fun and the first time I officially attended as an artist. I had a few works in the art show that, thanks to you, added a decent amount to charity.
It would be cool if you could tweet me some pics of my works hanging in your room or with you holding it and being happy or something. :3
Also thanks for all the positive feedback :3.
