Edmonton Expo 2012 - Portal Gun Photos
Posted 13 years agoI've started a little con tradition. I brought my Portal Gun to the 2012 Edmonton Expo, and got pictures with various cosplayers and guests. Someone asked me why I was doing this, and basically, I wanted to do something a bit different. By doing this, I got to add something unique and special to the con experience for people, let people see something they would never normally see, and get a great collection of memories few others could possibly have.
Currently, I have the pics posted on my facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?.....00000479573101
Apologies to those who don't have a Facebook account. If demand is high enough, I'll post select pics on FA or dA.

Officially an Albertan Wuff!
Posted 13 years agoI have finally moved to Edmonton, AB, and I can't wait to meet up with the local furs and see what the city has to offer. ^_^
Field testing a Con Question
Posted 13 years agoI will be attending ConBravo in Burlington, July 27-29, and I will be going around filming the awesomeness of the dealers, the guests, the cosplayers and whatever else the con throws at me. But I want to throw something back.
I have decided to ask a question to the people I talk to at the convention, just to see the vast array of wacky answers I get. The question is this:
You receive a call from a big Hollywood producer, who wants to give you everything you need to make a movie. The only catch is they want to hear a catchy title for the movie. What title will you give them? (The only rule: NO PORN!)
Be as creative or as honest as you want, but funny works best! Let's hear your titles! =3

Edmonton Experience
Posted 13 years agoThis past week, I went to Edmonton, AB for my househunting trip before I get posted there. I can honestly say I have never lived in such a big city (I've visited Toronto and Ottawa, but never stayed in either city for more than a day). My dear friends, Brie21 and Phreddy Fox helped me find a place, and I even have a car for when I go back. I won't say what kind, but it's named after a kick ass movie from a few months ago ;3.
The coolest thing about my new place is it's within walking distance of a very good mall. Not the West Edmonton Mall, the Kingsway Mall, but it's very good. Good store selection, good food court, and it has a hobby shop with a great selection of airsoft guns. I purchased two, an MP5 A5 and a Beretta M93R. I'm keeping my next airsoft purchase a secret for now, but I intend to get two sets of clothing for airsoft. A military camo set, of course, and for the other, I'm going for a Resident Evil kind of thing. A place in the West Ed already has some S.T.A.R.S. gear ^_^.
I really can't wait to move to Edmonton. The Alberta Furs seem pretty cool, though I will miss all the Ontario Furs. But I shall bring hugs a plenty for next year's Furnal Equinox! =3

Birthday Pup!
Posted 14 years agoIt's been a while since I've really done anything on this site, but I just wanted to announce that on May 26th (this Thursday to be precise), it will be my 30th birthday. Some people dread turning 30, but honestly, I'm looking forward to this milestone in my life. I've spent the past year working very hard to improve myself and I can safely say I've done a damn good job. I've got a good career in the making, I'm in the best shape of my life, and I am truly happy.
Of course, if any of you awesome artists want to draw some gift art for the pup, I'd be even happier ;3 Just kidding! But really, if anyone wants to do that, I'd be very grateful and I would gladly do something nice for each of you in return ^_^
Till next time, bitches!

Home for the holidays
Posted 14 years agoFinally, after a week of being home for Christmas, I have time to write an update journal.
For about the last 6 weeks, I have been a recruit in the Canadian Army. It has been a challenging, but amazing experience. I've made so many friends and even got a bit buff, losing 30 pounds and getting some tone in my wolfy muscles. And yes, I shall post a picture of my progress ;)
But now I'm home to enjoy the holidays, and I fully intend to do so. Happy Holidays to you all! ^_^

My co-workers are FUCKING GROSS! >.<
Posted 15 years agoSo without too much backstory, September shall be my last full month working in my current job. And after today, I realized just how grateful I am to be leaving that shithole.
For the most part, today went very well. Then all of a sudden, I hear uproarious laughter behind me from my co-workers. I turn around, and I find myself looking directly at a video of a monkey mouthraping a frog.
A monkey.
Mouthraping.
A FROG!
These people were laughing their asses off and talking VERY loudly about it, and my customers on the phone could hear all of it. Mainly because they were being so loud, I had to turn up the volume on my headset, which turns up the volume on the microphone, which makes it easier for my customers to hear about THE MONKEY MOUTHRAPING THE FROG!
I will not miss one single solitary person in the goddamn place. And from now until I quit, if anyone gives me a hard time for watching game or movie reviews or completely normal stuff, I will point right at those same people and say MONKEY MOUTHRAPING A FROG!

Posted 15 years agoThank you all so much for your kind birthday wishes. It really made for a memorable and special birthday. I can't possibly thank you all enough for the joy you gave me. But know that you have all made a friend today. ^_^

Best! Sick Day! EVER!
Posted 16 years agoSo I woke up at about 5 in the morning with a sore throat, a sick stomach and a head that felt like someone shove a caulking gun up my nose and taped down the trigger. All the signs that this would be a shit day. But as the title denotes, today wasn't shit. Today was THE SHIT!
Alright, so by about 7 AM, most of the nastiness was gone (a moment of silence for the brave tissues that gave their lives against the nasal menace), but my throat was still pretty bad and my stomach wasn't in the greatest mood. This is a bad thing, since I work in a call centre, and I have no leftover sick days, so if my voice gives out, I'm out of my pay for the rest of the day. 2 hours into a 10 hour shift, I sounded like I gargled with weapons grade sandpaper, and had to call it quits.
Thankfully, I wasn't feeling too terrible, so I decided to make the most of my inpromptu day off. I started by going to the movies and checking out District 9. I was actually looking forward to this movie, which is something I cannot say about most movies that came out this summer. And thankfully, I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the movie immensely, and intend to say a special Thank You prayer to the deified mortal that invented air conditioning.
After that, I went to a friend's game shop to check out his wares. Not really to buy, just to browse. Somehow, during my time there, I managed to trade and even WIN a Guitar Hero controller with GH2, a black DS Lite and the entire series of Marvel Vs DC and Amalgam Comics!
So yeah, my head is stuffy, I can barely speak, and anything I try to eat will either go north or south, but what a day! :D

Disney's Bolt review
Posted 17 years agoI just saw Disney's latest feature, Bolt, with my niece, and I have to say that I enjoyed it overall. The main characters of Bolt, Mittens and Rhino (the hamster in the ball XP), were very endearing, and I'll even give props to Miley Cyrus, she did very well.
That said, I now give you the one downfall of this picture: Besides Miley's character, Penny, there is not a single solitary human character in the whole movie that I did not want to curbstomp into a liquid state! These are some of the most obnoxious, unlikeable, and annoying characters I've ever seen in a movie! So of course, the major ones are from Hollywood.
How do I loathe them? Let me count the ways:
1. The director is so obsessed with making sure Bolt is bullshitted into believing his role is real, that if he sees a boom mike in a shot, he acts like this: OMFGWORLDWILLEXPLODEYALLWILLDIEINHELLFIRENOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
2. The bitchy network executive who threatens to cut the balls off everyone in the studio if ratings drop EVER.
3. Penny's agent who whores her out to every form of publicity non-stop, and responds whenever Penny speaks her mind with, "Let's put a pin in it." I'd like to put some pins through his fucking eyes!
4. And finally, every other human in this movie, for one simple reason: Even though Bolt is supposed to be this immensely popular TV star, NOBODY RECOGNIZES HIM! WHAT THE FUCK?!
Despite this, I was able to enjoy the film. I would recommend it as a furry film, with only one piece of advice: Whenever any human besides Penny and her mom are on-screen, just imagine Bolt going batshit crazy and mauling them to death. It may be sick, but it's less brokenheaded than the characters themselves.

XBox 360 = VERY YES!!!!!!!!!! :D
Posted 17 years agoAt long last, after scrimping and saving for months, I have finally purchased my very own XBox 360! Had I a tail, t'wouldst waggle for many a moon. Translation: HELLZ YEAH! XD
Sadly, I could not procure a copy of Halo 3 for it, but I did get Halo 2, along with Call of Duty 4 and Assassin's Creed, so I have some entertainment for a good long time. ^_^

What's the deal with Uwe Boll? :P
Posted 17 years agoI was watching Attack of the Show on G4 the other day (Hey, I pay for digital cable, and I'm gonna use it XP), and they were interviewing controversial director Uwe Boll and actor Zack Ward about Postal, the next movie Boll is putting out later in May. Many items were mentioned besides the movie, such as the online petition to make Uwe Boll to stop making movies, his responding petition to ban the Pro Bowl, and calling out Michael Bay to fight him in a boxing match. The kooky little German packs a punch!
Anyway, I know a lot of people (myself included) don't like Uwe's movies, but I'm going to play devil's advocate and mention 3 things about him that appeal to me and make me like him...not his movies, just him.
1. Most of Uwe Boll's films, which are usually video game adaptations (read: doomed to suck no matter who directs them), are funded by Boll and only Boll. This means he costs production studios less money, which in today's money-driven world counts more than quality, and will keep getting him work. It also explains occurences like Kristanna Loken playing BloodRayne and looking like a cosplayer who had to resort to a fate worse than Ramen noodles to finish her outfit.
2. His movies may suck, but in most cases, they're about video games that suck. Admit it, if BloodRayne was a guy, it would just be a cheap-ass Devil May Cry for Yaoi fangirls. And most gamers I talk to have never heard of Dungeon Siege or Alone in the Dark or Postal, so why take the scraps out of the pup's mouth, huh? Let him eat leftover cake.
3. Finally, and this is the one that will get me funny looks, I know it...Uwe Boll is to lame movies what Quentin Tarantino is to great cinema. It's not about the movies, it's about the fact that Uwe is a funny motherfucker that's more fun to watch, listen to, and hang out with than watching his work or working with him could ever be. Uwe Boll is God's rendition of looking at Hollywood and going, "THIS TOWN NEEDS AN ENIMA!!!" *blows party favor*
Hey, maybe you don't agree with me. Maybe you like Uwe Boll's movies, or the games they're based on. Maybe you signed the petition, maybe you didn't. I signed it, but honestly, I dig Uwe Boll as a person, but as a film maker, no thank you.
And as far as Postal goes...Indiana Jones or the guy who played Titus' dumbass brother with a machine gun. You tell me. *walks away, whistling the Indy theme*

Taking sides in some Console War thingy
Posted 17 years agoOk, so I finally bit the bullet and decided to save up for an XBox 360. I thought about it carefully, and figured that it has what I want in a gaming system. When I mentioned it to people I know, they agreed it's a good system, but I had one person tell me that I should get a PS3 instead. Now, normally I'd be fine with this, everyone is entitled to their opinion after all. But when I asked why, the first thing he said was that the XBox 360 is fine if I "just want a gaming system." ...yeah.
He went on to talk about how the PS3 can do video conferencing and burn DVDs...I didn't have the heart to shut him up by telling him my laptop does all that stuff already. He actually called the PS3 a supercomputer. Dude, I don't want to hijack missile silos, I just want to play Halo 3! Look, I'm not saying the PS3 is a bad system. Neither is the Wii for that matter. I have my reasons for picking the 360 instead of those other systems. The XBox 360 has more games that I want, it's a fair balance of gameplay and graphical beauty, and it has the best online experience overall. Those are the things I want. As for the Wii...my mate already has one, why be redundant?
But in the end, it's all about the games. That's what won out for me. I came up with a little system for picking which console I wanted: The system that has an exclusive game for every 50 dollars I would spend on the console wins. I'm saving for the Elite console, which costs $450 (before tax). That's 9 exclusive games, and here they are:
1. Halo series
2. Gears of War series
3. Dead Or Alive 4 and DOA Xtreme 2 (Hey, at least I admit it XP)
4. Viva Pinata (I'm a furry, what do you want from me?)
5. Tenchu Z
6. Fable series
7. Perfect Dark Zero
8. Rumble Roses XX (Yeah yeah, I'm still admitting it)
9. Too Human (It's not out yet, but it probably will be by the time I can buy the system)
The PS3 just doesn't have the same amount of exclusive games I want. Let's try it: $400 means 8 games:
1. Warhawk
2. DC Universe
3. Ratchet & Clank Future
4...yeah, that's about it.
I just have more to gain from getting an XBox. Feel free to debate my decision, but I know what I want.

Posted 17 years agoToday, my mate, Toggle D. Xanadu, called me and sadly reported that his computer crashed. I don't know exactly what happened...an important file got corrupted, it got a virus...maybe the webcam saw the Death Omen Star, I really don't know right now. XP
The good news is it's not serious, he should be back up and running in a few days. The bad news is he lost all his files. His music, his drawings, his archive of podcasts, all of it. I'm doing all I can to get any files back he posted, but if anyone can help, we'd both appreciate it. Just send any files you have from him to my e-mail, TKWolfman@hotmail.com, and I will forward them to him when he's back online. I will make sure he knows who sent what.
Thank you all for listening, and for your support.

My Second Life Begins ^_^
Posted 18 years agoI am happy to announce that I now have a new computer, one that is capable of running several programs I could never run before. One of these programs that I intend to use most is Second Life, so I can finally set up my own avatar and meet new furs, my favorite pastime ^_^
I'm trying my best to figure most of it out, but any advice or tips anyone has would be most appreciated. Hope to see some of you out there soon! ^_^

No more Superhero descriptions
Posted 18 years agoWell, I haven't posted any more descriptions of my furry superheroes, and I've decided that I will not bother due to lack of interest...much like most of the stuff that I do. Oh well...thanks to everyone who actually showed interest. I appreciate it and would be happy to discuss more privately. But it doesn't seem worth the effort to post the whole group anymore.
Furry Superhero #1: GuardDog
Posted 18 years agoGuardDog
Real Name: Jake Hawkins
Hometown: New York City, NY
Height: 6 ft 3 in
Weight: 240 lbs
Eyes: Blue, glowing
Fur: Grey/White muzzle and tummy
Powers: GuardDog possesses a "dimensionally transcendental" body, allowing him near-infinite potential for storing energy. This allows him to store a miniaturized reality, the Microverse, within his body, giving him access to massive amounts of cosmic power, granting him immense super-strength, invulnerability, faster-than-light travel, control over almost any form of matter or energy, and cosmic awareness, which he can use to attain instant knowledge on a subject temporarily or detect danger. However, he is vulnerable to magic and mystic energies, especially against gods or godlike beings.
Costume: Mostly casual attire. Jeans, riding boots, and a brown leather jacket he wears as a keepsake of his father. His cosmic power is indicated by a view of space within his torso, accented by a spiral galaxy upon his chest.
There's my first character in a nutshell. I also have an origin, but that would be a bit much to get into now. I plan to write up something involving all the characters' origins, which are all linked by a single event. But that's all I'll say for now ;)

Furry Superheroes
Posted 18 years agoOk, other than furries, my favorite thing is superheroes. I love em! Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, and so on. Then, one day, out of the blue...the two smushed together in my head, and I proceeded to create a pack of furry superheroes!
These are the characters I've created so far. Most of them were inspired by aspects of the Marvel Universe, so there are similarities:
GuardDog, a werewolf given cosmic power to protect the universe.
Dynamo, a speedster skunk and genius inventor.
Phoenix, a fox/phoenix mix with a sunny disposition and awesome mental powers.
Catseye, a feisty feline with super-senses, and a wide array of sight powers.
Blackwing, a nigh-invulnerable dragon with wings that lead to another dimension.
Feral, a bar-brawling she-wolf with Hulk-like strength.
Aqus, a water dragon elemental.
Shaman, a kitsune with mastery of the mystic arts and power over all plant life.
Snow, a snow leopard with control over weather.
Nightwatch, a fox possessing stealth powers and a great detective's mind.
Vindicator, a catboy controlling all forms of heat and fire.
Copycat, a shapeshifter of no set species that can literally become almost anything imaginable.
And finally, Anubis, Egyptian god of the Underworld (just wouldn't be right to try this without him).
Each of these characters was inspired by a fellow fur friend of mine, some on FA, some not. I'll be doing journals on each of these characters soon, but if anyone is curious, let me know. I'd love to talk shop on them ^_^.

Spidey 3, PSP, my favorite pirate and some shiny dude on a s
Posted 18 years agoHey, everyone. I know I haven't posted any new art or anything in ...well, EONS, but I've had a lot on my plate and my inner artist apparently fucked off to France or something, so I've been drained. So I figured I'd do the old "Yes, I'm still alive and coherent in this universe" thing and put up a random journal entry with random stuff I've been thinking about lately. So this should give you some idea about how full of crap my funny little head is.
First, let's start with something that has truly consumed my life with no hope of escape...PSP! Seriously, I broke a crowbar prying it out of my hands to type this thing! Well, maybe not, but still, I'm lovin my PSP. I've always been skeptical, but it's great! I finally broke down and got one a few weeks ago when I had a chance to use a free trade-in offer, and I got it and a few games, including Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I already had it for PS2, so I decided to see how it would port...DAMN! It's a perfect port! Even the cinematics are identical in quality! I got a few screen protectors to block the drool XP. But anyway, I've been playing that and a few other games, but mostly I'm jonesing these days over Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force. Used to play Yu-Gi-Oh, and though I'd never watch GX, I'm likin the game a lot ^_^.
Speaking of things that take over body and soul, let's talk symbiotes, shall we? Spider-Man 3, in my own opinion, was a delightful romp, but I feel I must agree with most that it was too much too fast. A lot felt like it was just tossed together for fan service, presumably because this is the goodbye for Tobey MacGuire and Kirsten Dunst playing Spidey and MJ. Still, I enjoyed it and saw it twice, the second time in IMAX :P
I also got to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and I must say, after the jumbles that were Spider-Man 3 and X-Men: The Last Stand, it's great to see the third part of a trilogy done so perfectly. The story, the action, the feeling of always suspecting every character...and who better than Jack Sparrow to make a pirate war raging into a whirling maelstrom funny? LOL
And finally, a glimpse into the Fantastic future...June 15th is a date I've been waiting for since I first picked up a comic book. I tell you right here right now that I will LOVE Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer! I love the cosmic heroes, and Surfer is THE cosmic hero, ushering in THE cosmic villain, Galactus! I CAN'T WAIT! So if you'll excuse me, I must go into the mountains and freeze myself until the 14th, when someone will come and thaw me out to wait in line.
...somebody please thaw me out on the 14th. Please?
