2018
Posted 7 years ago2018 was a very hard year for me, prolly one of the hardest years that i can remember. It very much was a year of loss.
We lost our family dog of 16 years *old age and a bone degeneration disease
I lost my biological father to suicide, he had stage 4 cancer and didnt want to rot away.
i lost my step sister in-law to suicide, she had been fighting depression for a long time
My partner lost his father near the last half of the year, that one really hit home for me.
my housemate Naketa lost a kidney to cancer and now is undergoing chemo to help fight other things
My housemate Calafin almost lost his life due to a rare disease called "Guillain-Barre Syndrome". He will be recovering for years from that battle.
My mother had to go to the hospital with some chest pain, they found 4 masses in her left lung,, "still not sure whats going to happen there"
My sister had a massive heart attack. (im amazed she didnt die, it was pretty bad) Me and my sister dont really see eye to eye but i am glad she is still alive..
The issues of all that had been happening and working a day job that was very septic job caused me to basically withdraw from nearly everyone and everything i knew and cared about, even from running a business properly.
(basically shutting it down, trying to work on stuff without having panic attacks and avoiding or not even talking to people) A local friend stepped in and started coming over, learning the trade on how to make things so he could help out and make some extra cash. I found when i have someone in the shop with me i can actually function at a workable level. Im still trying to get back into the swing of things, reaching out to people to see if they want their commissions finished or offer refunds. Nobody deserves to wait like my customers have and i sincerely apologize for what ive put you through. I have no excuse for my actions and with the start of the new year i am doing all i can to try to recitfy what has happened.
There were alot of good things that also happened throughout 2018 so it was not all bad but i will save that for the next journal:)

Scaleworx Creations has had a great run this past 9 years and until we can make things right there is no way that we can make this business any better. I dont want to be know as the one who took peoples money and never delivered anything, to be one who make people wait years on end, I would not like it if someone did it to me (i finally got a commission that was 3 years in a waiting list) and i damn will dont like doing it to those who put their trust in me to bring their amazing creations to life.
Once i can get things done, get all the parts of what needs to be taken care of completed then and only then i will see who wants to go with me and see if we can bring Scaleworx Creations back to life.

Posted 8 years agoIt has been way too long since ive been around here, life sorta got in the way. To take time away from the workshop i took a part time job which somehow ended up a 50hr per week thing. I cant complain the benefits are decent.
A couple months ago i went in for carpal tunnel surgery on my right paw, gods what a difference it made, no more nerve pain! After a lengthy heal time im going to try and get back up to pace on commissions. we until the left paw is scheduled for surgery. then another slow down for a bit.
During my down time ive been working with some of my crew members to bring out some of the mask ideas that have been floating around in my head for a long time. They have been really fun to do and gets them out of my head!

March, Absent but not gone.
Posted 8 years agoJust looking at the time that has gone by and wow, its been over 3 months since i was last on FA. Where the hell has time gone..
Since the FC rush the productivity in the shop is still going, just not as fast as it should be. There has been probably 8-9 suits that have been completed and shipped out, sadly most were not shown as they were kept secret or wanted to be shown by the owners first, something i can respect. It just make it look like were doing nothing around here, which sucks.
In a way it seems since the "health issue" near the end of last year my outgoing self has been more recluse and hidden, not sure why but just felt what was needed to i could try to "fix" myself. Between that and everything else that could fail has failed, it feel like the universe just has it out for me.
I still making as best progress as i can on your commissions but will be honest in saying i know its not as fast or near some of the completion times that were said. Yes this completely my fault and have no denial that ive failed in my part of the process.
As had mentioned before, for those who are in queu to get a commission and dont want to wait any longer, please Note me and i will get you refunded, i know its not fair to make you wait any longer than the time agreed upon. For those who are/want to wait, im doing my best to make them come to life and make them awesome in the process.

Posted 9 years agoIts been way too long since ive made a post, heck its been way too long since ive even been on FA. Over the past few months Work has been soo busy that even taking days off became non existant, it got soo bad for me from trying to just get work done that i ended up hardley ever leaving the shop or socializing. It finally ended up with me more or less having a mental breakdown. After making the right decision to seek outside help (mental councilor) and with the help if my friends, we got my work time down to a more livable schedule and that even allowed me to spend some more time on working on R&D projects that will bring some awesome things out in the future. With the help of a few friends (thank you all by the way) they drug me out of the shop and took my scalie butt to MFF where i had some much needed away from work time.
There have been a few suits that have been delivered over the last few months and are out and about but no pictures were shown as the customers wanted to make them debut without any sneak peeks, im hoping to get the go-ahead and share pics now that they are out. I do have some pics to post so will make the update soon. We have one more full suit that will be out and making its debut at FC, and several other dragon pieces.
Now comes the next part, Whats in store for 2017.. The last 2 years have been a blur of fun, stress, work, and trials of life. The latter part of the year has seen severe mental issues which could have stemmed from trying to push to hard. If im to keep this pace i really need to set more limitations for myself, make more time for being social and getting back out into the world. Ive put a limit on taking fursuit commissions to try and speed up the process and get you "my friends and customers" your completed items delivered to much better time. This past year has seen alot more equiptment coming into the shop to help us expand at making more things, and making the current things even better. Were quickly outgrowing our little workshop soo fast that were overlapping work areas to get projects done. The next big goal is to find a place that we can expand our work area and set up multiple work tables for all the things were working on.
As always a big thank you to those who have commissioned us and help us to become what we are today, and a very special thank you to those who spend soo many hours in the shop working away with me.

Update. Going slower & making changes

Work is crazy busy, been dragging help in when i can to get orders out but things are going way too slow.. Been having to turn some away as the queue list is getting too long. which has also been putting a stopper in working on new designs and ideas. Definitly need to get get some more permenant help in, someone who can keep up the pace.
If im working on your commission now and you feel its been to long, please let me know, am trying to get some stuff restructured so we can get some of these back orders out asap. And like always. Im soo sorry ive been taking too long. we just want quality not quantity.
Spent this last week going thru the shop on the annual cleanup and refit. now have space set aside for the laser cutter and left room for the possible vinyl cutter that may be coming. will definitly have to get more pics.
Got a new table set up for the latex part as we start increasing more orders, tired of having to de-fur the main table every time we have the latex project come into queue. got a new spot set up to set the latex on roller for rolling out for cutting (instead of the flopping mess)
Here is hoping we can really bring this together and make things more smooth for everyone!

Reference art and delays
Posted 9 years agoTime is just going by too fast this year! been meaning to do a journal for a couple weeks now and just never get around to make it happen so here it is.

I cannot say enough that when your thinking of commissioning a suit, be it rubber or fur... Have reference art!!!!!!!!!!
It gets soo frustrating when someone is trying to explain what they are wanting and just send you pictures of someone elses suit or says "Its like this, you understand right"
Like soo many of the suit makers out there we deal with soo many detail on each suit that it can be a jumble if things when trying to "remember" just one little detail from 5 suits ago.
At this point if your going to inquire about something and need a quote then please have something, something even basic... Some form of ref art and not just 6 different pics of suits that you would like made into your own suit.
Work delays
Between FC, Having a cold that felt like death warmed over and some ever increasing family worries there will be a delay in production. Nothing major but enough to set me back a few weeks.
Just wanting to give a heads up now instead of mid crisis and thing going totally out of whack..
The suit that will be completed in the next couple weeks that area already behind
Echo- finishing head now, rest is complete
Razek- finishing body, rest is ready to rawr
TBFM- Finishing the wolfs feets then he can play
Ashkore- Also werkin on dem feet pawz.
Artemis- installing his digital eyes then tackling the body
Megachar- new fur arrived, will be starting the remake soon
Argon- new mods are done, he is ready!
Shelby- Soooo many scales.. 493 on the head, will have several thousand on the body.. Wheeee
There are others too, but this is a good start.

Posted 10 years agoSo tomorrow marks my 42nd cycle around the sun. Gods this year has just flew by..

A new apprentice has joined the ranks, which is helping get more stuff out faster. will have to do a proper intro later!

Furpocalypse

You can get the original eye design here, But you will need coding skills to change they eyes to your needs.

If you know how to do soldering (to connect the small wires) and writing code (to change eye color and pupils) you can get a set going for about $150
If you need something completed and shipped to you, it prices out at about $250. That is any color sclera, iris, and pupil, any species.

Back in the groove
Posted 10 years agoThis past couple weeks has seen itself with more than one challenge. The most recent is the new medications, Starting a new medication regime it has played hell with my body, the last few days i barely got out of bed. Things are going back to normal there so its time to get back to work.
Anyways, back to making the fur fly!

Reboot
Posted 10 years agoThis past week has been a godsend. Finally taking a bit of time to relax, wind down and generally just reboot.
The few weeks leading up to BLFC were just a jumble of stress filled problems, and the workload was crazy! I had 3 people working fulltime to help me get customer materials completed, I still cannot say thank you enough to those who came by!
The week after the Convention seen a complete tearout of the existing workshop and started over from scratch, New shelving, bigger work tables, better lighting and of course, much better sound! finished off the last details sunday and took this week to just catch up on sleep and do a few personal projects that have been on the back burner for months.
Starting monday it will be back to bringing the creations to life and having fun!
Again a big shoutout to for all the help.

Posted 10 years agoIts that time again, Were getting close to BLFC and we should think about having another Scaleworx Creations Photoshoot.
With delivering 4 or 5 dragons (depending on completion) at the con and having soo many more there, It would be a great time to get all of us together for a round of pics.
If anyone has a good time/ date to set one up let me know, otherwise will prolly shoot for say Sunday at 1:30pm.

Posted 10 years agoPlease read the updated terms of service. Not many changes have been made but you must be aware of them before commissioning.
Something that has come about a few times and must be addressed.
Before the materials (fur, eyes,claws, resin parts, ect) are ordered they are first verified by you "the customer" once they are verified and agreed upon they are ordered, and the down payment funds are spent.
The things that are coming into issue here is that sometimes the customer wants to use a different material that they found later and thinks that it will look better than what was originally ordered. (hey im all for it, i do it often myself) But here is the issue.. If a different material is chosen, the customer must pay for that material. as it was not part of the original commission.
I can ship the original material that was not used to you, but cannot buy a material, then buy another material at a later time. We just cannot take a loss like that.
