News - Project Onsen Complete - Clock Tower YCH!
Posted 9 years agoHey folks! It's been awhile since I've posted anything here, so I thought I'd give an update on how things are going for anyone who'd care anything about that sort of thing.
Things have been pretty rocky on my end as I've transitioned jobs. I quit my job at the warehouse I was working at a couple weeks ago and have been in training to do a form of document sorting at a financial institution. Fun stuff, made even more fun by all the tons of paperwork involved. Making sure I don't get dropped from insurance, setting up direct deposit with the new employer, learning how to fill out both timecards I'm required to. I've more or less gotten a handle on things though, so I think stress levels are starting to even out.
It was requested of me from a friend that I add a blurb advertising their friend's gofundme page. They're an artist looking for financial assistance in getting supplies for making further art. Check them out here: https://www.gofundme.com/art2work4
After several months, Project Onsen is complete! If you aren't familiar with it, it's a large group piece featuring 12 of my various characters completed in stages. It was intended to be done in a year from the start, but the artist completed it much faster than I anticipated. I posted the first image back in February or March and have been updating it over time as new characters were added. Then I kind of slacked on updating so now we're pushing right on ahead to the finished product! You can see that here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19224333/
The next project I have going with that same artist may be scaled back a little in terms of number of characters, but the quality of the piece more than makes up for it. Not to mention the subject matter lends itself better to fewer characters involved. What project is that? Well, if anyone's familiar with my heavily Clock Tower inspired Scissordragon/Scissor'bold character, the time has come for him to claim his first victim! And while I could have easily picked another character from my own roster to fill the victim spot, I thought it'd be more fun to let the artist turn it into a YCH so I won't even know who got killed until the auction ends. She even fit in a spot for a witness, so now there are two spots up on auction. And that auction you can find here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21565298/
Finally, as Halloween swiftly approaches please be cautious while accepting candy from strangers. This brief PSA will show you what to look for: http://i.imgur.com/5FfKTAs.gifv . Stay safe out there, thanks for reading, and see you next journal!

Want to Hire for SecondLife Avatar - Custom or Mod
Posted 9 years agoHey folks.
Always being one to try things myself, I've spent the last few weekends trying my hand at SecondLife avatar modding for a few avatars I had wanted to make. Well, after what feels like a giant waste of time, I can say I'm thoroughly discouraged to the prospect at this point. So now's your chance to profit from my failure! I'm looking for someone skilled in SecondLife avatar customs or modding. While I'm only looking to get one of these done to begin with, we can go over each and discuss which one is done. And if I'm satisfied with the results and find you easy to work with (and you likewise find me the same way), I'd love to discuss the other projects with you as well. Feel free to respond here or note me if you are interested. And please, by all means spread the word. Thank you!
I'm Back! + 8 (24??) Facts
Posted 9 years agoSo, after my PC being dead for the past month, I'm finally back on my own computer. Not a whole lot to say on the subject, really >.>
So anyway, I was actually tagged in one of those journal meme thingies by
Chances, so even those it's well overdue at this point, I figured I'm comply. Since I don't know enough people who haven't already participated or been tagged in this, I'm going to forgo tagging others. When I asked Chances what character out of my rather large stable of characters he would want me to do 8 facts on, he said either Talion, Brekkik, or Onicha. Since I took so long to get to this and because I won't be tagging others on it, I'll just do 8 facts on all three.
8 Facts About Talion
1) As my sona, Talion has a tendency to change in minor ways over time due to personal tastes and the like, though some things will remain the same. Dragons are my favorite mythical creature, so he'll always be a dragon. Blue, Black, and Sillver are my favorite colors, so he'll always have those colors attributed to him in some fashion. My odd fondness of the number 5 will also be reflected in the number of horn sets he has, which will be an upcoming change whenever I find an artist to do an updated reference sheet for him.
2 Some changes to Talion's physical traits are also inspired by ways different artists portray him. I tend to generally be a little more open to artistic freedom when an artist draws him over other characters for this reason. Sometimes an artist will do something with him that I like better than what's portrayed in my current reference.
3) In some respects, Talion tends to borrow some traits from other characters, making him a sort of amalgamation of these characters. Or perhaps those characters are derived from bits of himself. It can be hard to say sometimes.
4) Sort of like a magical Ant-Man, Talion can alter his size as a situation demands, though he is much more limited to his minimum and maximum sizes. While I haven't decided on a maximum size, his minimum is around the size of a Shetland Pony.
5) Although his kobold form is recent art-wise, it's something I'd considered for around a year before actually following through on. As a kobold, Talion tends to be a little taller than average for the species, and maintains his natural coloring and markings.
6) Talion may or may not exist in his own world setting. I created the world of Aurenil around ideas I developed while creating more of a character for Talion (as opposed to the sona, which is just a representation of myself). However, as I've been developing this world setting, I've started toying with the idea of Talion Silvercloud being more of a folk character than an actual dragon that existed in the setting. I've also played with the idea of him being a character generally considered a folk character, with some evidence to point that he may have existed sometime in the world's history. I'm still undecided what route I'll go with it though.
7) Talion in Aurenil, be he real or not, is a bit of the solitary mad inventor type, though not so much solitary due to the fact that while he doesn't live amongst other dragons, he does keep a clan of kobolds and possibly a modest harem consisting of a few other of Aurenil's species. He also has Ryx as his assistant, so he's rarely alone.
8) The floating continent upon which Talion invented and resides is heavily inspired EverQuest's Plane of Sky and Bioshock Infinite's Columbia, while also playing with a little Atlantis imagery. The miniature continent consists of three huge floating rings of landmass consisting of natural woodlands and wetlands, a massive kobold city, and Talion's lair in the center. The continent's name, Tizze'niv is a corruption of tizzem niv, which in turn is Niv Mizzet backwards. Niv-Mizzet is the name of the dragon genius of Magic: The Gathering's Ravinca setting.
8 Facts About Brekkik
1) Brekkik was the first character I ever played online, starting with the original EverQuest and becoming something of a gaming identity I still use today. Brekkik as a character though is developed entirely with his EverQuest 2 incarnation.
2) Although Brekkik and Skai often refer to each other as siblings, they aren't related by blood. Skai took him in off the street and 'adopted' him. As most iksar (as I roleplay them anyway) aren't naturally inclined to keep familial bonds, Brekkik and Skai's brother/sister relationship is more of a servant/master relationship, though the two do seem to display a certain fondness for one another.
3) While Brekkik held a good reputation as he grew up, that reputation was mostly due to his association with others. His sister Skai was a natural shadowknight well ahead of her class with rumors that she may even be one of the first iksar to be considered for entry into the Overlord's elite Wraithguard. He was considered a close friend to Onicha, a brilliant mind who was at the time was controlling magic more advanced than even some of her teachers could cast. Finally, his combat instructor Ssilyn was highly respected by the iksar of Freeport's Scale Yard to the point where some would even consider him a pillar of their community and a protector of "The Old Ways."
4) Despite all this, or perhaps because of it, Brekkik regularly felt inadequate to the point where he would begin using his status as a junior cadet of the Freeport Militia to regularly go out and savagely beat suspected members of gangs that weren't themselves aligned with the Militia. Given the politics and societal views of the time, this only helped to further Brekkik's reputation, especially among those of the Militia.
5) Though he was considerably active in the Scale Yard's breeding scene, Brekkik only has one surviving offspring. All others were 'executed' (more accurately, lynched) when news of Skai's betrayal became widespread. Brekkik was still understood to be Skai's sister at the time, and there were fears that her treachery could be hereditary. Brekkik himself was only spared this fate due to Militia protection. He was kept as an on-duty guard on the aptly named Isle of Refuge until the violence died down and it was deemed safe for him to return to the city where he was made to in the militia barracks until his departure from the city.
6) Brekkik joined The Cult of Lust (later rebuilt and expanded as The Order of Tholuxe Paells) at his sister's request. She was against the idea herself until she was told that she would be unable to enter without his participation. Then she became suddenly insistent that he join.
7) Brekkik does have a natural talent of his own. In his youth, he proved to have a natural knack for cooking, to the point where Skai would regularly put him in charge of making meals. He still displays this talent as an adult, though he rarely cooks for others.
8) Brekkik's favorite hobby is tinkering. Lately, he's had a fondness of finding interesting ways to hide weapons in objects.
8 Facts About Onicha
1) Onicha never graduated from the Academy of Arcane Sciences. She dropped out when her instructors began pressuring her to drop her research into Tholuxe Paells.
2) Onicha took a job as a maid for Skai when she was trying to gather more information on Tholuxe Paells. She's been a family friend ever since.
3) Although Brekkik technically owns Onicha's bordello, The Rose & Thorn, everyone there acknowledges Onicha as the one who is really in charge, Despite her own job title there being lead hostess and caretaker, she also exclusively handles the interviewing and hiring or new employees, the acquisition of refreshments domestic and smuggled, and dealing with issues that arise among the employees.
4) Onicha is only my second character to become betrothed to another. She has built a family with her fiancé Baxter and their adopted children Maztil and Sselka.
5) Onicha became leader of The Order of Tholuxe Paells after Skai's exile from Freeport, but not without contest. She was among a few other worthy candidates for the role who were all tasked for proving themselves to be best for the leadership position. After several rituals and trials, Onicha won out. However, some believe she was only chosen because she would have been the one appointed anyway if Skai had the ability to do so. This has resulted in some rifts within her chapter and some harsher than usual criticism of her leadership.
6) In her later teens, Onicha often experimented with magic that she could use to induce someone into heat. Using herself as the test subject, one of her early attempts caused a massive negative feedback that resulted in ultimately rendering her incapable of having children naturally. Ashamed of her infertility, she eventually completed the spell and now uses it to force herself into an estrus-like state on a natural timeframe.
7) Onicha has always seen the sorceress Najena as a personal role model and strives to one day surpass her in power and notoriety.
8) Despite her ambitious aspirations, Onicha rarely leaves the relative safety of Freeport. To supplement her research, she'll often request Brekkik to acquire certain items for her when she sends him on courier runs between the other Order branches, resulting in at least one complaint of her leadership (misuse of Order resources for personal gain) to be true.

Happy Birthday Migraines!
Posted 9 years agoYep, 32 today as another year ticks by. I decided to try to make up for last year's crappy birthday (wherein I spent the entire day working 8am to a bit after 9pm) by taking the rest of the week off. Today's agenda? Doctor's appointment at 8 to see what they can do about these migraines that have started up again in full force. After that, heading over to visit
Arohee with
Allaun to hang out and maybe play some Red Dragon Inn. Schedule pretty much clears up beyond that though. I do have some more art commissions to post and plenty of things I want to write regarding the Aurenil setting, so I may work on some of that tomorrow afternoon/evening. I had planned on doing a Windows reinstall tomorrow, but I think I'll push that back to Thursday. However, there are some more preparations I could do to that end too. Or maybe I'll just slack on all that and give some long overdue attention to my poor, neglected Steam account, who knows?
I suck at these update journal kinda things and they always feel so awkward to put out. Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

Scratch that. Who's open for ref sheets?
Posted 9 years agoSo, I originally asked about an icon and in the 3 hours or so since I posted that, I think I've decided that between the changes I want to make to Talion's head shape and various other smaller changes, I think it's about time for a new ref sheet. So I'll be deciding on someone for that instead. Like the previous journal though, if anyone reading this is open or know someone who's open, feel free to leave a link and I'll be sure to check them out. Thanks!
So, who's open for icons?
Posted 9 years agoJust spent the last half hour or so looking for artists open for headshots or icons. Not that I dislike the one I have, but it's been a few years and I'm feeling like it's about time for a new one. If you're open for them or know someone who is, feel free to leave a comment and I'll take a look!
Impending (commissioned) art dump
Posted 10 years agoHey, just a heads up that after a few weeks of thinking on the issue, I've decided to move everything from my
Brekkik account over here and keep things to a single account from this point on. So there's going to be a bunch of uploads from me in the next few minutes or so. Apologies to anyone watching both accounts who are going to see a bunch of stuff they've seen before and to anyone else for any inconvenience. On a semi-related note, here's hoping we see folder functionality added to favorites soon.
Considering consolidating accounts
Posted 10 years agoYeah, now that FA has folders, I'm not sure if there's a whole lot of point to keeping my
Brekkik account up other than keeping my NSFW and SFW favorites separated. I suppose it would be a little bit of work getting everything reuploaded over here and sorted into folders too, but nothing too bad, seeing as how I have far less art on that account than I do here. I'm currently undecided on the issue, since I'd be losing a lot of views/favs by doing that, but there is something to be said in favor of simplifying everything.

Posted 10 years agoI could easily also title this journal "Talion's the last to find out about things relevent to his interests...again!" but I decided for the more direct approach.
That's right! The creator of the first two Clock Tower games is getting together with some other known talents in game development and j-horror and making a spiritual successor (because really, does 'anyone' know who owns the rights to that franchise anymore?) by the name of NightCry. Unfortunately, I only just found out about it, so I can't pledge my own support, so here I am spreading the word instead. Kickstarter's over, but all the juicy details are still there to read. Check it out! https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....sors-nightcry/
UPDATE: You can still offer financial support on their preorder page here: http://www.night-cry.com/

Looking to commission a gorey horror image
Posted 11 years agoJust a kind of reminder that I'm looking for an artist for a horror piece. I posted the original journal pretty late last night, so not many folks probably saw it. Anyway, if that piques your interest at all, you can find more details and reply to the original journal at http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6192944/
Bloody, gorey, horror commission?
Posted 11 years agoI dunno. It's October. I kinda want to get a horror commission. I've never really had Scissordragon featured in a full commission yet. Granted, September is technically his month, but October isn't too far out from it. Posing all bloody or running through some hapless victim with his blades, I'll leave that up to the artist. If interested, feel free to reply here. You can post your prices too if you want, or just mention your interest and I'll look them up. You needn't do all the work for me. Or if you're not an artist, but know someone taking horror commissions, feel free to pimp them out.
The hottest scene ever!
Posted 11 years agoImagine, if you will, a sack of aged, brown paper. A little wrinkly, a bit beat up, but still holding strong. A sack that shows some real character. It's sitting there unashamed and fully exposed to the viewer. Now, I think we can all agree this is already getting pretty good, but how can we ramp this up?
INTERNAL SHOT! Sitting loosely inside the bag's rigid, papery embrace, we find a sandwich, a can of soda, and a bag of chips. The sandwich is a half-eaten vision of ham and American with just the slightest hint of lettuce peeking out from under pillowy white bread, a bit of mayo smeared between its crust and the sheer plastic of the bread-tight baggie containing it. The can is open on its side, satisfyingly spent with the last drop of its payload spilt onto the bag's bottom, creating just the most subtle and suggestive damp spot. The bag of chips is a fiery red, crumpled down mess of foiled wrapping. Its top has been haphazardly wadded shut, obscuring most of the bag's design with the exception of the words 'Spicy Nacho!' prominently featured to the viewer. Now, I know what you're thinking. It's perfect. It's finished. There's no way we can possibly add to this. But you know what?
SECOND INTERNAL SHOT! That's right! Now we're inside the bag of chips. Its shiny, reflective surface is mirroring the scene within it's tightly wadded grip. Nearly a dozen spicy tortilla chips exchanging spicy nacho dust as they press and crumble into each other in an orgy of flavor! Oh yeah, that's the stuff!
On a completely unrelated note, it has been a very long week and I am very, very tired. Good night FA
Free Games, Round 3 (x-post)
Posted 11 years agoI've re-posted my list of games I have extra Steam and Desura keys for over on my
Brekkik account. If you're looking for a new game to play today, why not give it a look? http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6013229/

Posted 11 years agoHey all! Though I doubt anyone will really notice, I figured in the case someone does, I'd post here that I've moved all character reference materials (including genital reference pictures) to my scraps. Not that I feel that they're "scrap" material, but my submissions on my profile are almost completely taken over by the bits of all my various characters. For future ones, I may leave them up for like a week or so on my submissions before moving them to scraps.
Um, well that was all I had to say on that issue. See ya!

Birthday Today...
Posted 11 years agoYup, the big 3-0. Not much else to say on the matter though...
Well I have been able to spend a good portion of the day playing early access in The Elder Scrolls Online, so that's been fun at least. May get some sort of cake too, but I dunno.

Artist Spotlight: Limizuki
Posted 11 years agoHey all! Just giving a shout out for
Limizuki. Seems she's hit some hard times as we all tend to now and then and would greatly appreciate your patronage. She's got a great style to boot, so I'd imagine it would be money well spent. My commission money's called for this pay period by I know I'll be looking her way when the next check rolls in. Just check out some of personal favorites from her gallery:
Warrior WIP - This may only be a WIP, but I can honestly say I can't wait to see the finished piece!
Cairoh - A nice, dynamic pose on a very well rendered character.
Elegance - A very striking and beautiful evening scene.
(NSFW) Bared - Probably the single sexiest not-outright-porn picture I've seen in a long time. I love how the artist makes the female character's fur look so soft and plush.
So if like what I've shown you, be sure to check out the rest of her Gallery and if it inspires you to get a commission for her, check out her price page.

Artist Wanted (Adult Feral Dragon Commission) (NSFW)
Posted 11 years agoUPDATE
I've found an artist! I have commissioned
HaloPromise for this piece. Thanks to
R_Jinx1 for the suggestion!
ORIGINAL JOURNAL
So I got this image idea in my head last night (thanks mostly to a very sexy piece
Machinari was working on in her stream at the time), and I've been looking for an artist to help me bring it to realization. I've gone through a ton of artists' pages, but haven't had much luck finding someone. It's kind of a long shot I know, but I figured I'd post a journal to see if I could find someone interested in it this way. Not being much of an artist myself, I can't really give a clear idea of how difficult the picture might be, but I've seen similar poses so hopefully it won't be too bad. Anyway, I'll list details below:
Characters
Talion (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6272493/ , https://www.dropbox.com/s/4mx9dq52p.....276/state5.jpg) - Pretty much as he appears in the reference sheet. Only changes I'd want made are with the flesh colors. Particularly, it should be a solid color, maybe a little darker than shown in the second link while otherwise keeping the overall shape of the first link.
Shokora (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6617987/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6618012/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7836423/) - She's the one that will require the most work, since I want her depicted as a feral dragon or more the sort of feral/biped hybrid body type that Talion has as opposed to the anthro she is in the first reference. Her tail would be more like what's depicted in the second reference. Finally, her facial structure would be more like what's shown in the third reference.
Pose
Talion on his back with Shokora riding him cowgirl or reverse cowgirl. If cowgirl, she has one claw on his chest while the other is reaching down and gripping the base of his knot. If reverse cowgirl, both claws are handling his knot. Either way, Talion's claws are gripping her rump, which should have deep grooves where his claws have raked them.
Setting (Background)
Currently undecided, but the commission would include a full background (or as full a background as could be achieved given how the artist would choose to position the angle of the view and characters).
That's the basic gist of the commission idea. If the characters and pose are something you think you'd be interested in drawing, feel free to post below. A link to your prices or a price quote in the comments would also be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know someone who might be interested in taking my commission, feel free to refer them to this journal. And if you aren't interested in taking this commission or have anyone you know that would be interested, thanks anyway for taking time out of your day to consider it. I hope everyone has a fine day!

EverQuest Next Iksar Concepts Posted!
Posted 12 years agoWith their new EverQuest Next Round Table response video, SOE showed concept art for how the Iksar race may look. The different body concepts are really varied, since they haven't decided entirely how they want the race to look in the end, though they did state they were open to feedback (which can be left here: https://forums.station.sony.com/eve.....nkful-for.201/).
First off are the body concepts (http://assets.soe.com/uploads/dcscl.....00/045/921.jpg). Personally, I like the bottom left one the best. It's not as super thin as some of the other bodies while at the same time not as bulky as others. Plus I just love that tail design. I suppose I also like that one because to me it looks closest to the EQ2 design, but with digitigrade legs, which I always felt was the one thing lacking from the EQ2 Iksar character model. The one thing I'd want changed most would be the arm length. They just look way too long to me.
Next, we have head concepts (http://assets.soe.com/uploads/dcscl.....00/045/922.jpg). I really don't have any problem with any of these heads and like all of them a lot, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the top center one.
Finally, we have armor concepts (http://assets.soe.com/uploads/dcscl.....00/045/923.jpg). Again, I really like all the armors shown. I really like that they aren't fully covering and I love the horn adornments. I'd like to see maybe some tail adornments too, but otherwise I'd be happy to wear any of these armors on EQ Next Brekkik.
Which reminds me, it's great to see the concepts, but at this point, SOE has pretty much done everything BUT announce them as a playable race. I mean, for us SOE faithful, it's a given. But I'd still feel much better with an official announcement on the matter.

Do you like dating sims? Do you like Sigil's art? See this!
Posted 12 years ago
Sigil is holding a survey to gauge interest in a possible dating sim game. It's rather short and harmless, so there's no reason not to take it, unless you just really hate dating sims. To help get word out, she's also offering a couple free raffles, one for those who take the survey and another for spreading the word, so there's some added incentive if you needed it. If any of this interests you at all, check her journal for the full details: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4594278/One Year Older, Bioshock Infinite, and Horror Movie Stream
Posted 12 years agoSo another year has gone by, effectively making me 29 years old now. I don't really anything particularly profound or interesting to say on the topic, so I'll just rework what I said last year:
"Today, (March 30) is my birthday. But (29) doesn't really feel all that different from (28), so I guess I'll just treat that as any other day."
But it's been a good day so far, and really that's all I need for a good birthday.
I got Bioshock Infinite as my birthday present, which was actually pre-ordered and I had been playing it since release day. Incidentally, I just completed it this morning and I have to say it's probably one of the best game narratives I've had the pleasure to play through, right up there with the first Bioshock and some other games. I'm not really a fan of FPS games, but I always make an exception for this series and haven't been disappointed yet. If you've played it, let me know your thoughts on the game.
On a final note, there's a horror movie stream going on right now, courtesy of the
scarystuffclub, so if you like horror movies, feel free to drop by over at http://www.livestream.com/scales4sale

Posted 13 years agoShadowgate was a game that was hugely influential for me growing up. I played the NES version like crazy, but never actually beat it until the Gameboy Advance port came along. I loved this game to death and it still influences some of my own game concept ideas, even today.
Anyway, the reason why I mention it is that there's a kickstarter going on right now for a remake of this classic game! There's only 10 days left though and they still have a ways to go, so I thought I'd spread the word the best that I could. If you're interested in this, then I encourage you to help pass word along too! They have some pretty nice bonuses for the various support levels too. Really, what I wouldn't do for $7,500 right now >.=.< But I still plan on pledging what I can, and I hope there's some shadowgate fans here that might be able to help too.
Here's a link to the kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....joi/shadowgate
