Don't Take The Girl
General | Posted 13 years agoSo yeah. I haven't heard the song since I was an early teen, mother thought it'd be cute to make her eldest son cry without taking his Sega away. Suffice to say ... the song still has the same effect on me. Don't know why but when it gets to the point where he pleads with the lord not to take his wife I cry like a damn fool. Tears me up. >.>
Rant and Question
General | Posted 13 years agoWhat's with the damn chicks with dicks shtick? Getting tired of seeing it really. Considered unwatching people over it but most of the people are drawing it because it's what the commissioners want, doesn't mean I don't twitch and growl seeing it 90% of the time.
But the main reason for this journal is to find out who else is running around in Fall of Cybertron on the PS3. Bad ass game really, took me maybe three matches to adjust to the gameplay differences. War For Cybertron had a more cartoony look, felt faster paced too. Though the idiots abusing the chasis/weapon/ability swap gliche were starting to piss me off. Thought about buying it on PC but PC games are too easy to hack, played WFC maybe a week on the PC before giving up and moving to console. The real reason I moved is I found an adapter that lets me use a keyboard and mouse instead of the PS3 controller. Sony has a flawless design, don't get me wrong, but I've always been ten times more lethal with a keyboard and mouse.

Laser Mice
General | Posted 13 years agoI don't know why, maybe because I game too much, but after a while my clickers lose their damn mind. One click counts as like five or six, it's a turbo setting I guess. Doesn't really bother me until I'm resizing windows or favoriting things on here. If you get spammed with rapid favorite/unfavorite messages it's probably me and I apologize, I'm heading to Wal Mart in a little bit to pick up a new mouse. Until then I won't be clicking on anything here submission wise.
Life and Death
General | Posted 13 years agoSo .. I was driving home from work this morning. I'm sitting there, wiggling my ass and headbanging. The usual when I have my music going. This time I managed to do the speed limit, when a good beat is thumping the speakers I tend to get a little carried away and press on the gas too much. I was driving beside one of them fuel tankers, don't know if it had fuel or something innocent in it but they make me nervous as is so I was trying to get away from him. As soon as I was approaching the bobtail the first set of tires on the trailer decided to say hello. The explosion was louder then the music, in fact it was like someone set off a bomb right next to my ear. Next thing I know I have huge chunks of rubber bouncing off my passenger side door and window, amazingly there isn't a scratch in either case much less a dent. Solid as the hits were I figured there would be some kind of damage. Couldn't swerve to get away because they're doing construction on that section of R40, the whole mile long K-Rail thing. I gunned it out of instinct. Cop pulled me over but not because I was doing 70 in a 40. He wanted to make sure I was alright, he happened to be sitting right there when it happened. Damn retreads need to be banned, they're too dangerous.

Artist in Need
General | Posted 13 years agoRP
General | Posted 13 years agoSo yeah. I've been doing it for a long time, whether it's a drawn portrait or a snapshot of some model or actor most people use it for their character. They usually pick something that's close to what they want, or as close as they're going to get. I did it myself for some years until I found FA and the wonders of having shit drawn for you. Ever since I invested in Talon I kind of got on a soap box about the picture thing. I don't preach to people or look down on them ... but unlike years past it irks me to see people use other people's work. More so when the perversion and interests fall way below the line or " normal " or " acceptable ". It makes me feel like people are using someone's creation to have their fantasies, and god help someone if they IM me and end up showing me a picture of someone I know on here. Drayk, Necro, Mitsy, Kii, Nyori ... it doesn't matter who did the picture or who the enigma belongs to. That's hitting close to him, more so for some then others, and be damned if I'll just be quiet about someone tarnishing characters and fursonas I know. Rant mode off.

God I love Youtube
General | Posted 13 years agoSo my Avenger was stuck in park. I thought my transmission was fucked, went the way of the Emo. Turns out Dodge, or Chrystler rather, uses a cheap ass pink plastic to hold a spring. In little time that piece breaks and without the spring the car doesn't know you have the break down, a safety feature to make sure you don't start the car in drive. Thanks to the video I not only can shift the bitch now but I know exactly what's wrong. Since it's still under warranty I'm going to tell the dealership to shove that pink plastic up it's creators ass and give me the aluminum one most cars have. Stupid shift release latch. >=\

Project in the works
General | Posted 13 years agoSo. I'm building a page for role play purposes and I have an idea on the cover image, just I don't know how to go about it. Elements wise it's pretty simple. A mountain of human bodies, various degrees of decomposition and mutilation, and on top stands Talon. Back view with his head tilted to snear at the onlooker so to speak. Trick is getting it how I want it, I'm thinking I'll have to use a number of artists to get the entire piece done. Not so much price wise but some are better at things then others.
DMC 5
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I just got my first look at it, didn't realize trailers were out already. Complete ... utter ... shit. That's what I think. You can't create someone as bad ass and hilarious as Dante then turn him into a cursing witless teenager. That's why we have Silent Hill and other games, to stuff the boring characters into. My opinion? This game ruins the franchise, I refuse to touch it. There was no need to revamp Dante, even as an adult he was the shit. Guess I'll just stick to Fall of Cybetron until the game developers realize there's just some things you shouldn't do.
R.I.P Dante.

Death
General | Posted 13 years agoSo far life has managed to ruin just about every aspect my life since the new year started, and now it's going beyond a low blow. It's one thing to lose a car, someone you love and very much want, those things can be coped with and eventually forgotten. Family however is not a wound that heals. I've considered myself fortunate, alive for thirty one years and only once as a teenager did I have to see someone I cared about in a casket. I've never been emotionally strong when it comes to death, much like a star I collapse inward and shut down. And already I can feel it happening. My grandmother has been in and out of the hospital seven times since December, I had hoped, or rather foolishly clung to and believed, that the pace maker fixed whatever was wrong. I never knew the full story .. but today I do. After breaking down on the phone with my boss begging to be allowed to use a vacation day I rushed to the ICU unit. When I got there she didn't look that bad, somewhere on the inside I was jumping for joy ... again being foolish and falling into some false sense of hope and comfort. After we left my uncle told me in the parking lot that the appearance was deceiving and then some. She's been on oxygen for a while now, that much I know, but it's not just lung issues that has so bad off. Her heart is inflamed, swollen to the point that it stretches the valves. Where they should be opening and closing to allow blood to flow and keep blood from getting in where it shouldn't ... they're in the wind more or less. Doing next to nothing while her heart operates at about twenty percent, per the Doctor's terminology. She could have months or years left, naturally I think the doctors give the lowest estimate to be more accurate about the situation and her condition. People are given expiration dates all the time and surpass them by a long shot, and if I have any kind of fucking luck this year this will turn out to be a case like that. If I disappear suddenly you'll know I was wrong and stupid enough to be optimistic.

New Car Time
General | Posted 14 years agoSo my 99 Escort ZX2 decided to die on me, I don't blame the car i blame the genius who designed interference engines. I was looking a 2010 Hyundai Elantra because they have the best warranties around, however the Raptor has crap credit. The bank wouldn't finance it even with two thousand down. They will however cover a 2010 Dodge Avenger or Caliber. So I have to make a decision, either way I'm not as depressed anymore. Not having your own car, for me, is like not being free. Pay on the car I get for a year or so ... establish credit since I never had an auto loan before ... and I can gun for what i really want. A 2012 Altima. Though that's probably subject to change, once I have the established credit I might aim for something else. Not sure yet.
* Update *
The Dodge Avenger has it's ... issues. For one I think they had a setup installed that prevents instant speed boosts, when you hit the gas the engine actually thinks about it before the car starts to move. The transmission runs a little rough too, meaning you can feel the car shift and you can feel it downshift when you brake. Interior wise it isn't too bad. The cruise control is in a convenient spot, but the controller for the blinker and high beams is tricky. to turn the high beams on you press it towards the dash, pull it towards you for a brief high beam flash, but in a pinch you can accidently turn them on when signaling to turn. The dash materials are pretty cheap, some kind of plastic that scratches easy but it does look somewhat decent I guess. Not sure if they have inherent brake issues but sometimes they squeel, mostly until I've used the brakes enough to warm them up .. or that's how it seems. Sound system and handling wise it's smooth as silk, and the steering wheel really doesn't take much to move the wheels. Unlike my Uncle's Navigator which you have to rotate ten times just to take a small turn, man he's fucked that thing up since he got it. I'm so used to making constant little corrections to stay straight I do it out of habit in the Avenger, got pulled over because of it the cop thought I was tipsy. Ha! I can live with this for six months, maybe a year if need be, until I can get what I want. Right now I'm leaning towards an Elantra due to Hyundai's ten year hundred thousand mile warranty. That and they're really damn good cars, dependable and more than decent on gas. All in all the dealer bent over backwards to try and work a deal for me, in the end my lack of ever having a loan bit me in the ass. I'll give them my business once I'm ready for a real car, one I don't have limited mile use on, and if you live in the Maryland area up near PA Auto Showcase Cars is a really good place to go. The only bad experience I've had with this whole mess is the check engine light being stubborn, I think oil change needs can trip it since it's been going off and on while the car keeps telling me to change the oil. Which it's been saying since I got the car. I have no clue how far or hard someone ran it while ignoring it.

Role Reversal
General | Posted 14 years agoFor years we've heard about how companies outsourced jobs to move their operations to some god unknown country or province. Innocent people lost their homes and other necessities over it, personally I blame the Government. Very rarely are decisions made to help the people in this country, mostly those who make daily decisions to pay rent, have electric, or get the medicines they need. There's very damn little justification for the sudden spikes in cost of living, materials haven't changed and unless remodeling has been done the shitholes they try to pass as living space aren't worth half the price they're charging.
I'm noticing a trend at my workplace that's in one had a good thing but in the other a disaster waiting to happen. Rather than move operations overseas they're bring the overseas workers here. It takes the jobs born citizens could of had, income they need to survive and contribute to our way of life. However the jobs are going to people who need the money more in one sense or another, it doesn't make it right but I suppose it's better then giving the jobs to rich kids or people. My main concern is their lack of restraint. When I started we didn't have as many Africans in the warehouse. Now we have tons. I'm not racist, I don't sit here thinking they should be shipped back to wherever they come from, but my concern is with my safety and the safety of those I work with.
There doesn't seem to be requirements or stipulations. People who speak damn little, or no, english are allowed to hop onto forklifts and other variants and work around, or with, dangerous things. So what happens if you yell at one of them that someone is in their path, or something is about to fall? I myself almost got ran over by a driver when he failed to yield at a dedicated " crosswalk " and because he speaks no english he didn't understand what I was saying. Instead he jerked his head around trying to figure out who was yelling, and why. Thank god I wasn't stupid enough to bank on him stopping or swerving around me, otherwise I'd be like my brethren in the museums. No sir ... this reptile likes breathing thank you very much.

Loss
General | Posted 14 years agoThis is more an explination on why I haven't answered people about commissions or in general talked. Yesterday morning my dog had to be put down, it was that or be selfish and make him suffer more just so I could avoid the world I'm in now. Every time I get up from the computer I check the floor first thinking he's there, it's to the point where I get excited if a shoe touches my foot .. thinking it's him laying down. I didn't want to be there when they did it but my grandmother had a point about not letting him die alone. Still, every time I close my eyes all I see is his limp body on the table and no matter how much I pet him he doesn't move. I haven't been this depressed in a long time and I don't know when or even if I will get over it. The only good thing is he doesn't have to suffer anymore, otherwise this the shittiest christmas ever. I know what I want and I know it'll never happen, I'll get back to those who I've talked to about having work done when I'm more emotionally stable. Right now I just need some alone time to at least make an attempt at healing.

General | Posted 14 years agoIf anyone who watches me lives in VA or close to the epicenter of this, wether we talk much or not, I hope everything is fine and there was no major damage to your lives. I've had friends in New York City that felt this thing and I have had no luck calling close friends in Virginia. If you manage to get online and see this let me know you're alright, I don't have to know you to care and for those outside of the damage radius please limit the use of cell phones right now. The system will be jammed like hell until things get back to normal, we should all do our best to reserve what use there is for people who need to contact family and loved ones.
Murder Mode
General | Posted 14 years agoSo. I come home to find a letter from the Comptroller of Maryland. I figured Wal Mart somehow ended up oweing me like 50 bucks again, I guess all those lawsuits effect me even though I worked there for like four months eons ago.
Long story short it's now 2011. Apparently in 2008 I owed 700 some odd dollars in taxes, if I owed why the fuck did they wait three years to send me the letter and on top of that have the gall to charge me interest?
See I know this is bullshit. The letter claims they did an audit, seeing how they approved the almost 200 dollars I got back that year I know for a fact they're full of shit. If I owed they wouldn't have approved my Tax Return, as in the IRS, so it's time to call the Comptroller's Office and be the prehistoric dickhead I know I can be. They so much as touch my paychecks they'll find a lawsuit on their desks. I can get bank statements from that period to verify the deposit and call the IRS to get a copy of my refund and W2 from that year. Time to bend some political fuckheads over and make use of a telephone pole.

War for Cybetron
General | Posted 14 years agoSo I found out the R2 and L2 buttons on my controller are sensitive as hell, no really .. you can sneeze and the buggers think you're mashing them down. Found out while playing Dragon Age Origins ... kept casting the wrong bloody spells because of it. Yay mages.
Anyhoot I'd play it on the PC but the population is shit and chalk full of losers who think it's fun to hack all the time, PS3 is so much better. I invested in an adapter, since I don't like thumb joysticks, and I must thank Eagle Eye. My KDRs are much better and my accuracy jumped from the low twenties percentile to about 46% at the moment. I don't know how you people use those thumb joysticks, I've always been much more lethal with a mouse. I hear a sequel is in the works, if I remember right it's planned release is sometime in the year 2012.

General | Posted 14 years agoSo I was running WoW just to find out that there were log in issues going on, realms wouldn't come up like they're supposed to once you enter your password. In frustration I got the usual pop up asking me if I wanted to allow WoW access to the net, I accidentally blocked it. I can't find an option anywhere to undo it and until I find out how I can't play the game.
Anyone out there who's done this before, or know how to see what programs it's blocking and how to change it? I'd really appreciate help on this.
