Things I wish FA had...

Sometimes I mess up and reply to a comment in the wrong place. Then youre stuck with a big obnoxious "Hidden by author" tab. If its your own comment you should be able to remove it.
2. EDIT COMMENTS
Please, I make typos or maybe want to change info in a comment, but instead have to delete it and type it out again :<
(update: couple ppl told me there's a quick time period for editing comments, which is cool! But relies on you quickly noticing typos)
3. Search note function
Search for a keyword or user in your inbox.
If youre someone dealing with a lot of notes, things can get lost easily.
4. Unreplied note function
Same as above, if you're dealing with a lot of notes things can get lost or you forget to reply to something.
5. Image support on homepage
FA profiles tend to be very wordy and bland, even restricted image use (like max. image dimensions or image count) would be quite nice to have some more professional/sleek looking profiles.
I know ppl get away with making obnoxious pics with html and icons anyway, so why not :x
6. Mass delete notifications
Instead of having to delete comments, favs, journals, etc seperately, let us check em and delete them in one click.
Another thing that would be cool is some sort of art showcase or "popular" section or something. It's quite hard to get your art noticed here, just have to hope people see it in the few seconds it has on the front page...
I know dA has groups and "popular" and "undiscovered" functions and those are all very good for discovering new artists and getting more exposure, so something similar, albeit more simplistic, would be very exciting to see here.
Or maybe even make use of FA's tagging system (Tagging art by species, gender, etc) Could be cool to browse those tags.

Birthday + short break

Just a quick update.
Was my bday yesterday, had a great time, feeling a lil...sore and hungover today <:3c
In other news I'm gonna be silent for the next while. I have a deadline for uni submission on friday, gotta make a mock pitch bible with concept art and animation tests.
I'll likely be back on track with comms next week. It's just a little too much to try and work on uni work and commissions simultaneously. Hope that's okay!

I find picarto to be pretty dead these days. I'm only getting one or two viewers whenever I stream there. It's kinda demotivational tbh. Plus you have to pay premium membership for simple stuff like recordings and multistreaming....
So...Any of you guys have experience with using twitch?
Which site do you prefer to watch art streams on?

Taking a Holiday from Furaffinity (To work on Major film)

Been mulling this over for a few weeks, I think it's best I make a wee journal discussing this as to no longer leave people waiting in the dark.
I'M GOING TO BE TAKING BREAK FROM FURAFFINITY (AND OTHER ART SITES) FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS.
I've tried squeezing in time to work on trades and comms but it is simply not working and just messing me up in all sorts of ways. I'm barely keeping up with my uni deadlines, without bringing in other work into the mix.
So for now, I think it's best I have a complete break away from online art stuff. If any commissioners wants a refund, please don't be afraid to note be and I'll happily oblige if applicable.
For those of you happy to wait, I thank you deeply. I hope some understanding can be made here. And I'll do my best to make sure you get an awesome (more skilled!) piece a few months down.
I'll be checking notes every so often so if you're in dire need to contact me, feel free to send a note for now!
I won't go into details, but I've just had a dip in mental and physical health recently and I cant afford to fail my degree at the last hurdle. I need some time to breathe, rest, then come back stronger than ever.
For those interested, I'm a final year animation student. Those familiar will probably understand the stress and struggles of such students. It would be almost comedic if I wasn't living it right now!
Most other animation degrees allocate about one academic year for their students to create their major film.
Our course gives us 4 months.
It just....Isn't enough time for a major film.
Simply Isn't.
I don't know how I'll do it honestly.

Schedule vs. Spontaneous?
Posted 8 years agoWhen it comes to art streams, do you prefer spontaneous journal entries announcing a live stream or do you prefer a set time/schedule?
I enjoy live streaming but I never seem to get much of an audience :c I understand this may be due to time zones and such but it's still a bit discouraging.
Would a stream schedule make you more likely to attend a stream? Or do you prefer the surprise of seeing an artist suddenly go live?
Also, what do you most enjoy about live streams? Do you enjoy watching the process, the chance to talk to the artist live, or are you just there for possible freebies?.. |D
I wish to do more live streams, especially mutli streams on picarto, but I hope to understand a bit more about what the audience wants! Any comments will be useful.

Sensorineural hearing loss
Posted 10 years agoYep bros today I may be a bit deaf..
I have always had crappy hearing but it's become more prominent as I have gotten older. I struggle to hear whispers, low talking..and I can barely hear conversations when we're in a place with background noise (cars, cafes, etc) even if the person is right beside me..
So today I went to my GP and explained this, did a test and found that I could not hear any of the middle frequency noise he played back to me.
(Which is bizarre since usual cases of hearing loss are either low frequency loss OR high frequency loss?)
When I was a baby I had Meningitis, and he's guessed that's what caused it, and in that case the type of hearing loss is called sensorineural hearing loss, and is irreversable.
I have to go to a specialist sometime next week to get a more in-depth analysis, and I might have to get a hearing aid :^( I dont mind tbh but it'll be weird to get used to hh
In other news I'm going to try and complete a bunch of potato chibis tonight!
I'll keep ya's updated!

Artist Alley success

So as most of you know, I attending Q-con last weekend for the 5th year in a row, and this is the 3rd time I've done the Artist Alley! It was so fun meeting some of you guys IRL, and some of my artist friends <3
For the most part, it was a success! I learned a lot about what's popular amoung the general geek population and what people like to buy!
The Five Nights at Freddy's chibis sold very well. Heck, I sold out of the button set within the first hour or so. !!
Pokemon, as usual, was very popular with all sorts of people, younger, older, loyal players and old fans. And this year I had more variety so that was neat! Although I definately need to keep working on drawing ALL the Pokemon! I had some people ask for their favourites. Arcanine, Mew, Dragonite, sylveon, vulpix, mewtwo, jigglypuff.... they were all popular and I dont have chibs of them yet :'c I'll fix that asap!!
Stickers were probably my most popular item. Probably down to the amount of variety I had this year (60+ characters/designs) Also because I offered the buy 2 get 1 free deal!
Mystery bags were hella popular too! It was my first time offering something like that, so I was skeptical if they would do well at all. But people liked the surprise!
Basically, I offered a bag that held £10 worth of art goodies, but you only paid £5. I would ask what fandoms the buyer loved, and what items they defiantely DID NOT WANT, so that way they would like everything they got ;v;
And, as always I will offer what remains to my international buyers!
