I'm not planning to leave FA or anything, and I already have myself established on other sites, see my LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/TamerKoh
This is just another one just incase I do get banned anyway, for having a cartoony art style, hehe. I noticed a bunch of people were going over there, so I'll start uploading there too going forward :)

July Updates
General | Posted 8 years agoHello everyone~ I know it's been quite some time since I gave some updates as to what's going on, and since I've submitted anything substantial. I am here to shed some light on thing now!
General Life
A lot's been happening with me working and such, but as of today, I am now in my own apartment~ My first apartment at that. It's actually pretty nice. You can see pictures below: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bnnamswa.....QieW0_YYa?dl=0
Still getting settled into it naturally. There's more things I need to get to actually make it more managable like a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies, but for now I just got some appliances, kitchenware, and bathware.
Art Life
I've been sketching a lot behind the scenes, but I haven't colored much of anything lately. It's mostly a time strain, since I try to dedicate the weekends (generally my only completely free time) to game development. But I'm hoping to start submitting more again soon, I do miss coloring things.
Game Development Life
Been working with http://blueike.deviantart.com/ on Vector's game lately, sort of reformatting the original concept for the plotline and characters, though the main established duo will be the same.
That's about it for now. Hope everyone else has been holding up well~

February-March Updates On Everything
General | Posted 9 years agoHey, it's been a while since I last wrote a journal. Time for more updates with what's going on.
So first of all, I just finished the 11-week training for work on Friday last week, where we presented the final project. Finally, that hellstorm is over, and yet it's all just beginning. I also had an interview with Capital One last Tuesday, and got accepted. So I'm waiting on more information, mainly regarding the start date and such, but I know I'll have to head to Richmond for this. I'll still be working FOR Revature, just AT Capital One, where I'd then start earning the real salary of $24.04/hr.
As for things on the commission front, I'd probably wait just a tad longer before accepting any, since I'm not sure when I'd be required to move, since the start date is pending, and I'd not want anything to get lost in translation. I should probably update my commission sheet once more, since I made a new PayPal that can be used as an alternative (or Primary for non-USA people) payment method.
On the gamedev front, things have been slow, since I haven't had much time, but I do want to get back into it once things get settled and I know exactly where I'll be and when I'll be moving. Maybe work on something small as to not rust before then? We shall see.
That's about all for now, as usual I'll post any further important updates when the time comes.

Hue-Shifting App I Made
General | Posted 9 years agoScreenshot: http://i.imgur.com/dWZKSi3.png
I made a simple app that calculates hue-shifting and such for you, using AngularJS. For practice, and to have something practical that can be used~ You can download it here.

Just open index.html, input your color, and have fun with the options~ Lemme know if any glitches occur.

Job Updates
General | Posted 9 years agoJust thought I'd give some updates on how things are going with this job.
So I'm now in the 2nd week of training, out of 10 weeks. It's pretty intense in terms of work; the shift is what you'd expect during training, 9 AM - 5 PM. But on top of that, we also get group assignments and homework. Then on Mondays, we get grilled in both a quiz and two interviews on the material, lol. I did pretty decent in the first week, but it's only going to get that much harder every week, since it's all cumulative. They can grill you about Week 1 topics with Java during Week 8's material, during the interview parts, if they so desired.
As for commissions, I'd like to say I'd be up to taking small and quick ones, but I'm still not sure just how busy the coming weeks will be. I don't want to give any false signals, and then have to retract immediately if things suddenly pick up, so I'll probably have to think more about this once I get an idea of what the future workload will entail.
That's about all for this round. I hope everyone enjoys their holidays and such~

Landed My First Job!
General | Posted 9 years agoAfter job hunting all year since I graduated back in December 2015, after numerous rejections and non-responses from all the applications I've put in, I've finally landed a job with Revature. The job is contractual (2 year contract), but I also have high possibilities of being picked up for a permanent position as I work on the projects through them. Starting at $50K/year, and raising by 10-20% each year (first two years) depending on how well my performance is. I'm both excited and nervous.
Commissions Are Now Open
General | Posted 9 years agoNow that I've adjusted the sheet with up to date quality and price adjustments, I am open to commissions.
Updates July 2016 (Future Commissioners Read!)
General | Posted 9 years agoJust some updates on what's been going on lately, and what will happen over the near future.
First and foremost regarding commissions, for now I won't be taking any, because I have a backlog of pictures that need finishing, and also the commission sheet is no longer reflective of my work current work quality, and needs updating. Some of the prices are probably going to change a bit (mostly he last two packages), due to how long the new shading method takes, while I'd also introduce additional packages based on how my process works now. I still intend to have higher tier packages include lower tier packages, however. For example, if you got a Shaded commission package, you'd also receive the finished sketch, the linework and the flat colored versions of the picture.
Second, life updates. You may have noticed there was a drought previously regarding submissions, and I've lately just been submitting flat colored pictures to sort of fill the space, that will eventually need to be updated. This is due to a couple of reasons, one of which was my participation in one of my good friends' wedding as a groomsman, and so things surrounding it needed to be taken care of with other groomsmen. It went well, and now they're honeymooning peacefully~ The other reason was the ongoing job hunt; I've been trying to secure a Computer Science job since I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree back in December, using http://www.indeed.com/ and LinkedIn as jumping off points. At first there were months of just nothing within reasonable driving distance or silence from things I did apply to (also 3 rejections, which came way later than when I applied, like months later), but eventually in May I finally found two opportunities with TEKSystems that I'm currently looking deeper into, with free training to happen sometime this month. The first one is a JavaScript/Web Developer position working in the Angular JS Environment, and the other is an SQL based position. I don't have a whole lot of experience with either, but I'm hoping one of them pans out for me to get a full time job, even if I don't like SQL very much (it's very constrictive, often only having just one or two ways to handle something, so you really have to know what you're doing). Both contracts would be looking at about $17-$20 an hour should they follow through.
I still intend to go back and finish these flat colored pictures with complete shading and such in time, updating them and notifying everyone when they are, but I also have some ideas that have been on the backburner too long, lol. But we'll see how juggling them all goes.
Game development progress with World of Chaos and Vector has been slow, but http://blueike.deviantart.com/ and I are still discussing aspects of it related to game mechanics and story, to continue at least fleshing ideas, characters and areas out to make that part go much smoother. Sprites are still being drawn and will be animated soon. I'm hoping to have substantial progress on the engines by the end of the summer, but we'll see how everything goes, especially if I get one of the aforementioned job opportunities.
I think that's about everything for now, thanks for the continued watch support. I hope I can continue to deliver~

RIP Knight 2006 - 2016
General | Posted 9 years agoToday we found Knight, one of our two dogs, in a condition where he could barely move, and couldn't stand and walk, so we took him to the vet. Turns out he had a form of cancer, kidney failure and anemia where his blood cells were attacking each other. Not a candidate for surgery, we just decided to put him out of his misery with euthanasia, so that he can rest peacefully instead of being in pain. He lived a good 10+ years, in a way; he didn't get to see much, but I did give him attention every day. He'll be missed, but I'm just glad he no longer has to suffer.

Commissions Are Indeed Open

Schedule I'm Working Out (Commissionees, Peek!)
General | Posted 10 years agoSince I no doubt need to dive back into commissions now, but also want to continue making progress on our game development works, I've decided to work out a simple schedule to have a bit of order for both.
Weekdays will be dedicated to progressing on commissions, for the most part. While there will be the need for breaks and such, I basically consider the weekdays like the 8 hour shifts that a full time job would work you, normally.
Weekends will be dedicated to completing further assets and engine code for our game development projects, so that I can continue to make progress on those, and hopefully get to a demo phase by the end of the year.
So that's the idea; I sort of fell off a couple of months ago, because I ended up with a motivational switch towards making further progress on our games, but the recent catastrophe leads me to understand I need to start saving up money to be able to afford a new computer, as well as future plans.
If you are interested in a commission, please note me, and if you already have, I will reply to your note soon for confirmation. Sorry for the delay, lots going on, as well as the need to still find an actual job on top of it all!

Charger Replaced with Amazon Fairly Cheap!
General | Posted 10 years agohttp://www.amazon.com/Pavilion-Seri...../dp/B003I8GFNW
This is the one I bought to replace my old one that died. I guess the moral of the story here is to put your faith in Amazon, lol. I'm back in business guys C=.
Thanks for all those who were concerned with the last journal. It means a lot! I know I haven't submitted in a long while, but I'll bounce back soon better than ever, and jump right into doing commissions again, so I can start saving up for a better, not 6 year old machine, heh.

Unavailable Until Further Notice
General | Posted 10 years agoThis journal brings bad tidings.
The charger for my laptop has died today. This was the only source of power for the laptop at this point, since the battery died a few years prior. I suppose it was to be expected sooner or later, considering the laptop and charger are almost 6 years old. However, since I'm not exactly rich, and am still in search of employment, I have no way to replace it or the computer anytime soon. This also means I'm unable to do commissions or any more game development work until further notice. It's incredibly frustrating how sudden this was, but there's nothing I can do.
Message brought to you by my smartphone. Until next time, when I have a working computer again...which I can't predict when that will happen.

Bachelor Graduate, Commissions Full Throttle!
General | Posted 10 years agoAt long last, I've finally graduated college, from Old Dominion University, and I've earned my Bachelor of Computer Science Degree. It's been a long and arduous road, full of many trials and tribulations, but I've managed to survive and overcome them all. I've done nothing but go to school non-stop since I was 4 years old. Summer of 2010 when I finally graduated High School, I immediately started attending ODU during Fall of that same year, and have continously taken classes every semester until I finally finished after 5 long years. Needless to say, I'm happy I can finally put the bookmark on the education portion of my life, and move on to other things. Of course, I don't expect big things to happen overnight, but I do look forward to the next chapter.
In the mean time, I will most certainly be giving my full attention to commissions and whatnot whilst I start hunting for a job. While I may not tackle any tonight, I will definitely get on them starting tomorrow. So if you've already sent me a note, I've received it and will start doing them in order. If not, and you're interested in a commission, feel free to note me, and see my commission sheet here: http://tamerkoh.deviantart.com/art/.....t-V3-577309092

And So Begins The Final Semester
General | Posted 10 years agoYup, the last semester of my college career (as long as everything goes smoothly this semester, which I will try my best to ensure it does) starts today. It shouldn't be nearly as busy as previous semesters, since I'm not full time. For those of you who've been wanting to commission me, I'll be doing a commission soon, the commissioner of which already has Google Wallet setup, as a test for this, to make sure everything goes smoothly. If it all works out, and Google Wallet turns out to be a worthy alternative to my permanently limited PayPal, I shall open them more and get back to you guys.
Google Wallet; Here's the Deal With PayPal...
General | Posted 10 years agoSo apparently about mid-July, I received an email from PayPal saying my account's been permanently limited, due to them wanting to investigate my transactions (remember the hacking? I haven't bought anything since, except one small little ingame purchase for $3.50). This limitation means you can't send or receive any money, on top of other things. Haven't heard from them since that email, and on the resolution center, it says this limitation cannot be appealed. So what do I do?
Well, considering Google Wallet is like another PayPal, and I can still transfer money from there to my bank account, I'm thinking I'll just have to switch over to using this instead. The first and only issue I've had with PayPal evolved into me not being able to do commissions through them at all, so...I think it's time to move on to another service.

Driver's License; Art Hiatus Done?
General | Posted 10 years agoSo it's time for an update again~
First of all, I finally passed the road skills test today, and earned my Drivers License. Paper format for now, though the actual card should be here within a few business days.
As for this art hiatus I've been on, hopefully it'll soon be about time to break out of it. It's been a bit miserable in that department =C.

PayPal's Back in Order, Commissions Will Resume
General | Posted 10 years agoGot it all fixed and worked out, and a new card, so it's all normal again. Will continue down the list, and if anyone else wants a commission, drop me a note!
PayPal's Been Hacked...
General | Posted 10 years ago6 unauthorized transactions have shown up on my PayPal account, and I'm working to get this resolved, as well as probably getting new bank cards. Until then, I'll have to delay doing commissions so that payments and such don't get messed up in the process. This is the first time I've had any issue with PayPal.
Final Exams Are Over! Commissions! Re-note Me!
General | Posted 10 years agoFinal exams have finally finished, and now summer is upon us~ Commissions will now be focused on as well as other things~ If you have a commission you want from me, drop me a note after checking out my prices listed on the main profile page. If you've already noted me before, note me again so I can have them all bundled together C=!
