To just have a good time and forget about the pain of this "normal" life for a bit. And I dunno, maybe get laid at a con for once. Suppose to be a first time for everything right?

I'll skip the drama and back story to this, but I have a good friend that's stuck up in Maine right now in desperate need of a new place to live. She's currently stuck in Bangor which is terrible enough by the sounds of things and is without a car, though she could probably get help to move. There's not many options out there for her right now, so I'm hoping someone here can at least give me a lead on something.

So that happened tonight in Buffalo. Was my first real concert too and what a way to lose my cherry. Delain started things out and a bit before I was ready to go in and watch/listen so I didn't actually see them as much as the other two but I could hear them. A lot heavier than I thought they'd be too which is a good thing.

Then Sabaton comes out and they're every bit as awesome live as any youtube videos might suggest and the only band tonight that had the crowd chanting their name between damn near every song. And I had no idea they'd be as entertaining as they were in between songs. Lots of joking around and a good amount of fan interaction, hell Joakim even borrowed someone's Swedish flag and wore it as a cape while they played Swedish Pagans.

Then Nightwish hits the stage after a rather long break but brought it just like you'd expect. I was pretty impressed with their set list too cause they went back as far as Oceanborn and played Stargazers, and I was happy as hell when they did a shortened version of Greatest Show on Earth. Not to mention I got to see Marco using a double neck guitar for most of the set which was pretty damn sweet.

Over all, in my opinion, Sabaton stole this show. Everyone performed their songs brilliantly but despite Nightwish headlining this show I couldn't help but notice that they just weren't as engaging as Sabaton was, and that's what you go to live events for. Not saying they were bad by any means, but I was hoping for more than just getting us to clap along in the middle of a song, or just having Marco ramble on for a little bit before doing a solo song. But in the end, was good music, I spent more money than I should have on merch, and somehow I can still hear just fine which I was not expecting. Hell of a first show.

For those keeping track its mine. Now to sit back and wonder if people who said they'd never forget actually remember, and overall be woefully underwhelmed.

So once upon a time someone I use to give a damn about had their account hacked into and had some journals made that pissed some people off. What better time to file my first trouble ticket right? Fast forward damn near two years, I quite literally forgot about this and am only reminded cause someone finally responded to my trouble ticket. Two. Fucking. Years. I don't even talk to the guy anymore so I don't really care about this ticket anymore, but the fact that it took that long has me pissed enough but then it gets better. Apparently screen caps of the journal and the IM conversations over the matter weren't enough so they wanted me to get more proof somehow so I just let it sit, and a WEEK later, they close the ticket on me.

Now like I said, I don't give a damn about this situation anymore, but I had to wait two years for someone to look at this, and they can't wait more than a week to hear back from someone? How's that making things look any better around here?

Felt kinda chatty but not overly wordy so I figured I'd throw things up here and call it a bit of a life update I guess.

Though on the plus side of it all, I did just read a journal by a better known artist here about how in 12 hours they got someone banned from IMVU for art theft, so thats kinda cool. Almost like we're policing for them which, take that how you want I guess.

For me, nothing new on the surface really. I work, I sleep, I help watch kids. Can't game so much now cause my monolith PS3 finally gave the yellow light so I've been learning how much of a giant pain in the ass it is to get your data back when that happens, while keeping my eyes out for a good deal on one that isn't a super slim one, cause I just don't like what I see in them. I've been putting my steam account to use in the meantime which is fun I admit, but I need a better computer to really get into anything really big. Hopefully that'll be fixed sometime this spring/summer along with the PS3. And no I don't want a PS4. Not yet anyway. Not enough stuff on it to justify the cost for me personally.

On the subject of work, it pisses me off still. For like a year now our department hasn't had ANYONE in it during the day so us overnight guys have to take care of all that plus our usual work load while upper management is either too lazy or too stupid (or both) to address the problem. They rather just save the money and bitch at us for not getting 24 hours of shit done in 8. It's driven our overnight manager to looking into stepping up to an assistant position though which is both good and bad. Its good for him cause it means more money and all that good stuff, but bad for us cause he's a beast of a worker. And its also good and bad for me personally cause for some reason all eyes are on me to take the overnight manager spot. Means I'll be getting full time, raise, benefits, and I'm guessing more vacation time, but at the same time a lot more people bitching at me which is really bad cause unless its something that I legitimately fucked up, I will bitch back and you will feel like less of a person when I'm done. Plus there's a lot I still have to learn since the place kinda has a learn by forcing them to do it approach. So yeah, mixed feelings about that development, but I like money and am a bit of a masochist so I'll probably take it if it all comes together.

A pretty sweet thing that also fell in my lap though is I'll be going to my first real concert in April. And who better to lose my cherry to than Nightwish and Sabaton? And some other band that I don't know named Delain, but I know the other two wont disappoint especially now since Nightwish has a lead singer who can actually perform live as well as she does in a studio. Gonna be going with my boss, cause unlike a lot of people my boss is cool, and we're gonna meet a couple friends there. What's awesome about this as well is the timing of it. Show's gonna be on a thursday which might suck for some, but my boss needs to have Thursdays off cause of his wife's schedule and on a typical work week, I get Thursdays off too (though I did request it off just to be sure). I'm sure there will be a journal here about it after I'm home, so long as the place is still standing by then.

And I'll close this all with saying hey, it's my birthday in about a week and a half, someone surprise me for a change yeah? I've actually been really depressed lately so I challenge you all.

Hey everyone, just making this journal to clear up a few misunderstandings.

My fiance', Thaddeusgrey, and I got in a car accident Sunday night while coming home from Furpoc. Fortunately we're all okay, but my car is pretty much totaled. I do have full coverage, but with the damage done to my car, it's highly unlikely the company will be able to repair it. My parents are the policy holders, so I'm hearing everything through them, and it sounds like the best the company will do is give us a couple thousand dollars to buy a new car. If we're lucky, it'll be enough to cover a good used car. If not, well, we'll figure something out.

A friend of ours who roomed with us at the con, Jadekat, was kind enough to start up a gofundme of her own inclination for our sakes. Yeah it's been over for a few days now I know, but I kinda didn't have a computer there for a while. Good times there.

Anyway, was a mixed bag that con. The things that sucked most about it are on a personal level so I wont go on about that, but I will say that I feel it suffered from not advertising enough cause it felt a little empty as compared to FurFright's old standard. But that part aside everything else was just like it was before, layout's the same (save for moving the registers for the dealers room), hotel staff still seems to like us for some reason, and we even got to have our fire drill at a decent hour. Everything's in place as it should be, it can only grow from there and I hope it does.

Didn't really get to meet a lot of new people this time around, but to those that I did meet I'm pretty sure you're watching so cheers to you.

Also didn't get much in the way of merchandise, but I'll be posting what I can before long.

Why's everyone whining? I mean yeah I know the basics of it all but come on people, how many years ago did the focus of all the drama happen? Really when I look at it, my opinion hasn't changed, not one of the three people involved in that incident did what they should have done so I don't see how sides can be taken when there's that much room for doubt in any direction. And yeah I know, there people out there saying "rape isn't anything to take so lightly and blah blah blah" and you know what, they're goddamn right. One of my boss's best friends, and the same guy I bought my current car off of and probably would have become a friend of mine too, was accused of rape, but despite no evidence to back the accusation and witness testimony saying it didn't happen at all he's not sitting in jail. And is divorced. And obviously lost his job with the railroad and can kiss any chance at a great job like that goodbye cause once you're charged with something like this, it never goes away even if it's proven you're innocent. So with all that in mind I can't help but to wonder why Zaush isn't in the same situation if there's so much to say that he did rape someone. However I'm not going to sit here and defend him either cause I'm not a big enough asshole to ignore what rape can do to someone's psyche and make them not want to go to the proper authorities because of doubts and shame. And I'll just come out and say it, Dragoneer was dumb not to just come out and tell what's her name to go to the cops and not him. (And no, I don't mean to be rude with that, I just literally have forgotten her name cause it's been that damn long)

So with that said about the past, the present can be summed up really easy. It's 'neer. When has he ever made popular admin choices? Seriously, I've never seen any of you excited about any admin picks, so this kinda seems par for the course really. The only thing that really grinds my gears about all this mess is that it could have been EASILY avoided had the powers that be just let people bitch and not start censoring posts and suspending people. I know constant flaming people is against the rules but when you move in that quickly and that harshly, I can't blame people for citing favoritism and abuse of power. It could have just been a house fire, but ya let it hit a gas line there. In the end I'm left thinking what I always do: Don't want drama, don't give it a reason to exist.

In the end though I don't even know why I'm out here saying anything. People don't read my journals, and I already know I'm not the keeper of popular opinions, but meh, bandwagon I guess.

Well that was damn quick. Looks like  bios and the rest really are making a go of keeping things alive for New England, but help is really badly needed and in a quick way. In order for them to lock down the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell in time for the original plan that FurFright left in place, they need to raise $1000 by Friday. How fucked up is it that one month after making a journal saying how much fun I had there, that it'd be followed up by the mourning of it's shutting down? Pretty fucked up I'd say. And you know, what can you say about this, anyone that had ever been that wasn't a giant douche knows how much this sucks. I just got done posting on their facebook wall about how my first year there was all my friends working, all the people that said they wanted to see me flaking, and how I didn't know anyone or where anything was, and it still turned out to be a better con experience than anytime I went to Anthrocon. The sense of closeness that you got from that convention will never be matched, I even dare say that when bios is trying to keep the spirit alive (and I'm hoping he succeeds). Hell for me its like being told you can't see your favorite part of your family anymore, cause even when I was wandering around by myself that first year it was the random people being so warm to each other that made it great. Hell even the staff most of the time were just like all the other normal con goers and not giving you that nagging feeling that if you fuck up in front of them you'd be in trouble.

I'm just happy as hell that I fought to get there this one last time, and got to see all the people I did one last time. Now I really don't know when I'm gonna see most of you all again and that really sucks. Grumpy old wolf has tears in his eyes because of that alone. And I don't know if anyone from the staff is watching me, or more miraculously reading this (except for you photo people cause I know you are), but thank you for all the work you've put in for the rest of us to have all the fun. I've always tried to thank you guys in person whenever I saw you taking breathers, so I hope that counted for something. I really wanted to get to know all you guys better, and I hope there's still a chance for that in the future. And I'm glad that this last con was the smoothest for all of you cause it sure as hell was the best year ever for myself as well. Nothing like going out good like that.

I'm hopeful for the future though. Like I said, some of the staffers are working to keep things alive and though it wont be called FurFright anymore I really hope they can keep the awesome going. If they can pull it all together in time for next year, you can bet I'll be there, Silent Bob look, toga, beer pong skills and all!

Well I do have accounts on all the other big sites, but that was more so I could claim my name before anyone else did it. I've never really thought about leaving though cause for one, who would care? And two, I like to stand amidst chaos, and drama amuses me.

I have a lot I could put in here right now, but I'll just address the current issue here... Just the other day a really good friend of mine out of the blue asked me if I'd consider forgiving her new boyfriend. Her boyfriend is someone I use to call friend a few years back, but he first got between her and I way back in the day, fucked an ex behind my back before we'd broken up, and lied to my face about that. A while later finally gets together with my friend here so I'm the nice guy and try to bridge the gaps and give a second chance, and then he goes and dumps her for no reason at all after just a couple weeks leaving me to help her get over it while I'm getting over my own relationship issues as well. Then just a couple days later he's on facebook saying how he can't find a decent girlfriend, and somehow manages to damn our fandom in there too (cause my ex did to him what she did to me, so that makes all furries evil. Go figure.). I play nice and just ask him if he wants to rephrase things since myself and some of his better friends are part of this fandom, but after saying no to that I turn the safety off and point out that he just had a great woman by he side and threw it away and that he should be asking himself why he ruined that instead. Needless to say I was black listed after that. Come to find out after that that he'd been telling my friend all sorts of lies right from the beginning too, so that helped her get over him a lot. And these are just some of the highlights of my knowing this guy.

So this is where you guys come in. I've gone over this and am still kinda battling the shock that she'd give this asshole a second chance at all, but the conclusion that I've come to is that I don't stand to gain a damn thing by forgiving him. She says she wants this so we can all hang out and be civil, but given just my schedule alone, I don't see that happening too much anyway. And even if I do get stupid enough to forgive him what would I get out of it? Just sitting back and getting aggravated by watching another couple be all happy and stuff while I go back home to no one? Doesn't sound like much of a deal there. And on top of all that, in my mind, forgiving him would mean I condone such vile behavior as this when in truth I can't stand seeing scum like this being rewarded for such blatant lack of common decency.

So sanity check. Am I still sane for sticking to my guns and not giving this guy a third chance to try and walk all over me and people I care about?
