What should I draw more of?
Posted 10 years agoOf everythign you've seen me draw, of all the stuff in my gallery, what do you guys like seeing from me? I'll draw more of it if I can get some responses this time around. :D
If I held an art auction, would anyone be interested?
Posted 11 years agoSeriously..I'm curious to know if my art is worthy of such a thing.
SO i had brain surgery done....almost died..
Posted 11 years ago...And I am having troublre revovering.
I can barely type, going basically on memory recall motor function. It's very hard for me to read, and I have what may be a permanent blind spot in my field of vision. Words get switched..
It's taking everything I have in me to type as coherently as I am right now. I can barely draw a stick figure, let alone the beaufiful, voloptuous and shapely ladies yove all seen me draw in the past.
It may be months before I am recovered enouh to gain back my peripheral visision, and the tunnel vision makes it very hard to focus on shapes and dynamic structures...
IUt started as a typical headache, like a migraine...that I ended up having to have major surgery for...It scrrewwed up my visual accuity something fierce...and on again, after all my hard work and progress, I am back to square one, trying to relearn grammar, how to see the kepsy, how to to draw a straight line...I had come so far, only for this to all happen to me..I can't draw a straight line to save my life, and my grammar has turned to absolute trash...
A very big chunk of who I am is missing now..and I don't know if I will ever get that part of me back...I have trouble making personal connections...barely recognize myself in the mirror...
I almost died, everyone...a few more hours ans I wouldn't be here to talk about it..
I am a currently shadow of my former self with some 80-something stitches in my skull...
Who knows, though? I may recover fully, I may not..still I ask is that you bear with me while I try to relearn some of the basic things most of my fellow artists take for granted...

How much would you pay... (Please read and give feedback)
Posted 11 years ago...for my art?
I know this is kind of a reposted journal, but I haven't gotten many responses from y'all, so I'm trying again.
Sketches are currently $5
Inks are $10
flat color is $15
Shaded color is $25-$30
Extra characters are currently $5 extra per character.
I'm trying to get a rough estimate of what people would be willing to pay for my art. I'm not well-known or anything, but I have been told in the past that I am really selling myself short.
What do you lovely bunch of Watchers think? I could use all the feedback necessary.
I value your thoughts!

I'm probably gonna catch a lot of flak for this..buuut..
Posted 11 years agoMy Little Pony :FIM is...for lack of a better term...annoying as hell..
It's not the series that bugs me...it's the fanbase..and it's not even the entirety of the fanbase that annoys me.
What annoys me is that a lot of the fanbase likes to inject MLP into EVERYTHING...memes, other television/movie/game franchises...It's wholly unoriginal..
Quick..name a meme that's EXCLUSIVE to MLP and isn't a derivative of some other Meme!
I can't, to be honest..And I bet others will find it just as difficult to find any memes that are exclusive to the series..I mean, even Derpy Hooves is unoriginal by meme standards..
I mean, come on..The Sonic the Hedgehog fandom has "Batface the Rogue" at the very least...
And the reason I don't much care for MLP is that before it even officially came out, before the series even STARTED AIRING, there was ~outrageous~ amounts of fanart and fanporn, and people were already injecting MLP into every other fucking franchise out there. From Doctor Who to Legend of Motherfucking Zelda, Ponies invaded EVERY nook and cranny of the internet. You couldn't escape it! Not on Deviantart, not on Furaffinity, not on Fchan or 4chan, or even fucking FACEBOOK.
And I know I'm not the only one who got sick and tired of it before it even became a thing. Even before the "Bronies" came to be, people were getting burned out on seeing it in every single facet of their online experience.
Who knows..some day, I might sit down and watch more than 2 episodes. But that might never happen, not so long as every other artist I watch is drawing MLP every other day, and not so long as I am being constantly bombarded with MLP imagery and injection into other franchises that I enjoy.
"But Tanek, why don't you just "Not look at MLP art?"
It's not that simple..
As I stated, it's EVERYWHERE. Even if I don't want to see it, there are thumbnails of it that show up when I browse, and there's no way to filter it out. if I could filter it out, I'd never have to see another MLP post again, and I could come away from this "burnt out" feeling that I've had since before the show even aired.
I'm a big fan of cartoons..I even enjoyed watching The Power Puff Girls...but I wasn't bombarded by hundreds of thousands of pictures, or fan stories, etc., of the series, so I wasn't pre-burned on it.
The point here is that too much exposure to something can turn people off to it, regardless of how good it may or may not be. When you over-hype something, people tend to turn away from it because they get sick of seeing it everywhere..
Just once, I'd like to get online and not find anything MLP related in my news feeds, etc...
And while I am a fan of Sonic the HEdgehog, I get burned out on it from time to time, too..
It's easy to get burned out on things that have too much exposure..

HElp me go to Tulsa COmic Expo! Commission somethin'!
Posted 11 years agoSo I've been bustin' muh hump trying to earn money for the Tulsa Comic Expo that started today and goes on through Sunday...problem is..I've had no luck..Been trying to sell some games and other electronics to earn the money, but so far, every opportunity to sell something has fallen through either because people are too cheap (Trying to haggle me down to $15 on a DS Lite WITH a game included that's valued at a total of $40, when I'm asking five bucks less than that already and completely refurbished it with new screens and other parts)), or they show up after reading the craigslist ad and go "Oh, I'm so solly, I thought it was Sony", even though the picture associated with the CL ad clearly shows a Kodak digital camera..
So I'm asking my watchers if they'd be willing to buy some artz so I can make it to the Expo tomorrow?
Note me if you are interested. ^_^

Why I don't do a lot of fanart + CommissioNS tatus
Posted 11 years agoUuuugh! Don't you just HATE IT when your particular style doesn't lend itself well to fanart? I do..I've tried my hand at doing fanart without resorting to utilizing the established styles of said franchises, and my style really doesn't translate well at all. I really prefer trying to draw things in my own style, but periodically I fuse my style with that of the franchise I'm fanarting..if I fanart at all..

I have a weasyl. No, I'm not leaving FA.
Posted 11 years agoI was invited to Weasyl a ~Long~ time ago, before any of this drama started.
You can find me on Weasyl as TheTriforceKid.
And no, I won't be "migrating" or leaving FA. I will post there, I will post here, and I will post on DA.
Look, the point of this? TO get my name out there. To Spread my art so I can actually make some money doing what I love.

Posted 12 years agoWell, I'm moving in June. Problems here have gotten to the point where I find that it's time to just move on.
I'm moving out of this place and into another with a roommate. I'm still looking for a job, and hope to get a good one around here somewhere. Well, maybe not good..but ajob nonetheless.
This means I might not be around much due to packing, job hunting, and house hunting.
Commissions are back on!
Detailed sketches will now be $10.
Inks will be $12
flat colors will be $15
Full color will still be $25
$5 per extra character.
No scat, watersports, or adult cub art will be allowed, so don't ask.

THis show did not get as much love after it's heyday as it deserved.
Anybody who grew up in the 80's will get a severe burst of nostalgia from ~just~ the intro, which was so ~animated~ and eye-catching.
The character designs were incredibly deep for a kid's show.
