Hey guys, I have enough folks for couples icons, but please check back soon. I plan on moving on to bigger free pieces.
I intend to move up from some free icons, to lineart, to full colored pieces and landscapes. I'm doing this so that I will have clear-cut examples of what kind of comissions I will do, and so that I can time how long these pieces will take me so I can give accurate ETAs on how long they will take uninterrupted. These will be displayed somewhere with my commission info. SO that being said, leave me some refs if you want some done.
Now let me make a mention about something I saw recently.
I've done a lot of requests in my time on FA, but sometimes I will go on other good up-and-coming artists' pages and see people saying, "wow, your art is great. do you do requests?" The way I see a comment like that is more like "I'd love some of your art, but only if it's free right now." I think it can be a real let-down and sometimes disappointing for many artists who often spend days of time on their work, only to find that many folks would be willing to take those days of hard work in a design for little more than a pat on the back. Of course some people do that in hopes an artist is in a good mood, but you really do gain an artist's respect when you show them that their art is worth what they think it should be worth.

3D texture work - Do you want to see it or not?

So it's coming up towards the end of my semester at my new school. It's been very busy for me, but successful.
I feel like furaffinity has died down quite a bit, but there's a number of reasons that might be. Perhaps I updated a bit more in the past, but I don't get as much chatter from people- views have still been big though. I don't know what that's about- I just hope it's not because people want to see my stuff but may not necessarily like it!
I'm still texturing things for
spare.parts as well as SRS Corp in Second Life. Granted, this is time I can't be working on art. Here's some examples of some work I've been doing, though unfinished:

Stuff you do to figure out artists.
Posted 12 years agoI am a bad person and I find it fun to look through people's galleries and see how often they draw heads facing left or right. I've found most artists only draw heads at a 3/4 angle to the right (from viewer's perspective.) When I find someone that draws more heads that are turned to the left I tend to like them more.

A LONG LONG Update.
Posted 13 years agoLong time no chat, eh? Life has been stressful for me lately, so I feel like I must have neglected things here. For that I'm sorry. I have no obligation to keep up a schedule, but I realize it makes me look unreliable. So for those that care, I apologize.
I am really grateful for everyone who has asked for commissions. I am terribly flattered. I've been both proud and ashamed of my art over the years. When I was a kid, I drew in my closet late at night so no one would see my art, because I was ashamed at how bad it was. I'm by no means where I want to be, but I am at least happy to see that I've improved. The only compliments I ever truly enjoy these days are ones in which someone gets something out of my work.
FIRSTLY: I am really excited to say that I've been accepted as a staff member of Spare.Parts !
So far Meeko's worked on my tail concepts and has three of them for sale right now on Second Life. The other two are in the works, and the feet might be worked on after that. I am so pleased that my little doodle is providing some other folks with some personality for their own characters. You can head over to the sim Rom to check that out.
SECONDLY: For those who have asked for artwork from me- if you asked for a commission, I am still willing to work with you. I had no time limits but I want you guys to know I still want to work on things for you.
As far as requests, I just want to give you guys some closure.
I think I went about requests a bit wrong- I shouldn't have taken slots for these. Because of that I didn't start a lot of them and I lost the motivation to, and it felt like work. From now on I will only take one request when the mood strikes me. Sorry for those that spent a lot of time sending me information. I might contact you in the future when i have more motivation to do free art for people.
That's it for the most part, except for one more thing.
If you're looking through my art (I know who you are) attempting to blackmail me because I drew porn and/or people you don't like; I am not scared of you. If I was afraid of what people thought about my porn, I wouldn't keep it posted up. Do what you want to do- but keep in mind it will make you look like a creeper and I won't care.

To Have a Pleasant Time!

so my sister is in a really rough spot that she can't really get out of and she's miserable, and medically depressed- it breaks my heart. I wanted to do something memorable with her and go hang gliding for our birthdays, which means I am going to want to take comissions soon.
I was thinking I might just take like 21 $10 comissions to get enough for the trip, or maybe try selling some adoptables too. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to anything you might think would help as far as comission ideas.

Furry design peeves.

I don't mean to tick anyone off in saing this, but there is something that bothers me when people design their furry characters. This is just my opinion, but I thought I'd see if it bothers anyone else or quite the opposite.
When people make big fluffy characters with uncharacteristic attributes to the point of them being vestigal, it bothers the heck out of me. Adding fins to a furry animal or wings to a wolf with no real reason makes me hope that there better be a really good explanation as to why it's there, or it's purely for aesthetics and they put very little into the depth of their characters and think very little about why they would look that way in the logical sense. The body of a creature you pick is important to the story you weave for them.
A shit ton of fur on an aquatic animal would simply slow it down. Anatomically wings on a wolf would be kind of rediculous and it's been done with 90% of every furry character I've seen since I was 10. Now, I guess I can make exceptions for characters with specific purposes- such as hybrids that clearly show an equal amount of traits of one animal mixed with the other, but most people would just as soon say MY WOLF IS A WOLF ANGEL HYBRID WHICH IS WHY SHE IS PRETTY AND HAS WINGS.
I think it's really important to balance your positives and negatives when you are making unique characters, because there comes a point when a very beautiful and simple design can morph into something that makes no sense, becomes obnoxious and out of place, and looks gaudy.
Anyways, thought I'd share a few examples of my pet peeves there. Rabblerabblerabble!

Tablet problems, and the change-over.
Posted 14 years agoSo I've been in a huge artsy mood lately, and I'd probably be drawing more now (even after only three hours of sleep) if it weren't for the SUN.
For some reason, my tablet will NOT draw correctly during the day. From about 7AM to 7PM, I think some stupid spanish radio station is running on the same frequency as my tablet. It jitters, and the only way to make it calm down is to slap a foot to the side of my computer case to ground myself there. It's incredibly annoying to spend 8 hours with a hand or a foot dispensed there, either getting cramped or cold just to ink a picture. GRR. It's been doing this for a whole year now. I'm going to have to call the FCC eventually.
In other news, I do plan on moving all my work to a new FA soon, but I am still worried about losing my watchers.
School is also crazy right now, but I'm still working on comissions. I'll probably pop out some suprise stuff for old friends and watchers too, if I get bored.

Posted 14 years agoI'm considering moving all my DA, FA and SoFurry pieces to the FA name Reska, since I've waited about a year for that name to open up. It's a bit easier to remember than my current one and it's how I'd like to be recalled.
Not sure yet though. A lot of work but it might be worth it.

I just moved up north to be with my mom, who's a bit sick, and to go to school up here as well.
On the way up, something injured my beloved PC tablet. Every time I turn it on, it flails about and closes all my programs, and spazzes out.
Therefore, my art has been indefinitely put on hold. I don't have a scanner here to upload traditional, but hopefully I'll be getting a new tablet soon. We'll see. Art is a theraputic thing for me, and my addiction, so I'm stressed and have a crack itch to doodle.
I luckily finished a majority of my comissions before I'd left for here so it's not awful- but I feel like I have a head clog. I need to draw!
Anyways, that's my situation. It might be awhile before I upload anything else. As for now, I'm just putting myself in line for a bunch of inspiration.
Thanks to everyone who's been supportive of my art, yo!

But now it's pretty much gone, so I'm starting on them today. I'll be updating every so often on this journal.
Only one of these will be up on my FA unless you really want to see in-world plushies.

Posted 17 years agoI just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks to all my new friends and watchers.
I came from DA where I was getting a splinter of recognition and you guys have made me feel really welcome. So thank you to everybody.
One day I'll be famous and you guys will all be like, hey i knew that person ya, she had a weird spaghettios fetish. :O
I'm currently working on alot of comissions, some SL builds and website design and creation for a few people. My boy is leaving in about two weeks and I'll be more available for work. :) No that I'm happy bout that but damn, a girl needs her girl time.
