I'm back! Wow!
Posted 15 years agoSo I finally figured out what my username was...heh. Forgot it was tanukimama...I kept typing tanukipurple, my email, wondering what was wrong. LOL. Yeah, I had to search as Guest some of my friend's pages, and look and see if my avatar was still up on it, and I clicked, and yay! I found my long lost page! How about that. *waves to yall*
Anyway, a lot has happened in the last year.
I did enroll in Blue Cliff College for Massage Therapy, and I just graduated in April last month. Also, just got hired (I start today!) at Massage Envy (I'm still in New Orleans!) and my daughter is now 4 and turning 5 in November..starts Pre-K too!
As for art, I've done lil bits of things here and there, nothing to post yet on this site, though I've got a few scraps and one finished work up now on my deviantart page.
Life goes on...

A Year Later...
Posted 17 years ago...and I finally can get back here. So I did get home to New Orleans...I did break up with my mate after 10 years of my life..and now my lil girl is turning 3 in exactly one week, and she's got a great daddy person, very old and dear friend of mine who I met a month after I met her real father, and now I've come to my senses. Heh. Life is good.
He kept the scanner. Shit. Oh well...but at least I finally got my prints of my art on agypsyrainmaker.deviantart.com done up, and have actually sold some in local shops!
Well...it's a step on a long journey..starting school for massage in January, and have some other lucrative artsy stuff in the works soon, too.
More later..just got back on furaffinity after a long hiatus!
Cheers! Tanukimama.

GOING BACK!
Posted 18 years agoYes, I am taking my girl and going back to New Orleans...
...till my mate finishes school here, in March. I am just not finding work..we cant pay the rent...no where else to go.. He's going to get a room for rent prolly, and I got a place to stay with some friends. Got babysitters, and even have a job waiting for me! WOW! It will certainly be interesting...and my tai chi friend is there...gonna go practice with him, yay! He is a third gen student from the master! His teacher Dave, was a student of Cheng man Ching in the '60s. So I get it closer to the original form. I'm so lucky. Year of the Rabbit, that's me.
We're gonna be out of this place by November 1. I hope to be back in NOLA soon after...yay..just in time for her birthday on the 7th. She'll make 2 years old, Year of the Rooster, Scorpio, Saggitarius rising and moon in Capricorn, showing every bit of it. Nah...I'm not proud..I dun show her off..nuh uh..not me. lol.
But this will be hard...and she will miss Da Da. Hard descision...but I got to. And...maybe we need some space. We'll see him again a couple times before March though ...

Dividing Time
Posted 18 years agoYep..furry art may be a bit slow...not that that is new..
I had my artist consultation with Springboard for the Arts, and it went rather well! He was impressed with my art, my reasons behind my art, and wants me to make more of my charcoals from my Memories of New Orleans. Next time I meet with him, we will be discussing venues! Wow! So between that, trying to find a job, continuing to do the charas on my list from Furry Faire Muck, as well as moonlighting as a pirate.. << >> And, of course, spending time with my little girl, my time is divided muchly, indeed.
That said, if you are interested in seeing these charcoals, or anything else I've done, not furry related, you can click the link below in contact info...it goes to my deviant Art page. I am agypsyrainmaker on dA.
*bounces off to take her girl to the zoo!*

So I can paint again!
Posted 18 years agoYay! My toddler only gave me a modicum of attention as I painted, only had to stop a few times. This means I may get back on my queue, and do my esteemed Nighmaerish friend Ephialtis's picture next, moving on down the line from there.
And yes, it appears I have been moonlighting as a spacepirate lately, but ever true to Furry Faire muck. I have also been busy keeping my household together, a real feat of miracles, honestly...
...but I have an artists consultation coming up next Tuesday, and hopefully something will develop from that!

Homesick
Posted 18 years ago So I'm finally doing something about it. Click the link below to my deviantArt page, and see what I am doing. It's making me feel better, slowly. Maybe I can do something with it, too? Who knows...
So You Want to be a Professional Artist...
Posted 18 years agoYes. I do. It is time. I am going to Springboard for the Arts this morning, dropping off my form to be put on a short (thank Universe) waiting list for needy artist housing, and also to submit my form for billpay help for artists who have undergone undue hardships. If being seven months preg, stranded over water and then suddenly in a matter of two weeks being rescued and taken to the other side of the country, having a baby two months later, spending nearly two years trying to survive in a land that is incredibly different from all you knew, and still barely making it, then I think I qualify. Apologies to any here who understand a similar situation! I am still incredibly homesick, and am tired of being under the thumb of the county welfare shit, and am tired of trying to conform to the plastic peeple type jobs I was under the illusion I had to gain to survive here...and finally I am becoming able to once again listen to the quiet inner Voice, the small messages in the daily happenings, ...they all are screaming at me to quit the job, follow my heart, and to just have Faith! It's nearly driving me insane...I get so afraid it just wont work out, but since I took that first step, took off work for a week (made the excuse my babysitter was indeffinitely out of town, which was partially true) and then talked to Spring Board, (like my 'rice crispies' told me to) things seem to have been almost magically falling into place! I am making appointment today also to set up a consultation with them after my hubby gets paid next week, wherein we shall work out all manner of ways my art might be marketed in town, as well as setting up a tax id number and other things of that sort. Go me. *in incredibly nervous!*
Latest Mews
Posted 18 years agoWell, I am working on a workspace here that allows me to paint without my little one getting into it all...I am so desperate to paint again!! Anyway, that's about it, as far as that goes.
New Stuff Coming!
Posted 18 years agoOkay, first, to anyone who checks out my dA page, I finally finally after several years of having them up and either not knowing how or not getting a chance to, I have finally changed the *&%!!@#@$&!! resolution on the faery pics. Next, I am working on a character portrait of Ephialtis from this Furry Faire muck that seems to be the only good escape from my mundane aggravations, barring reading a good little book to my little girl, or drawing when she is sleeping. This time, however, I am hoping to use watercolors again in conjunction with my esteemed Prismacolors, and possibly possibly clean my , as Arkloyd stated, 'godly' rapidographs. They are indeed godly, and I must must use them if I am to use watercolors. I have not been able to paint since before my girl was born, and this was nearly two years ago! I am looking forward to this, but am not getting my hopes up. I need to be able to know I won't have to stop in the middle of it and hurriedly put the paints away, know she will be cool and be patient, know that I don't have to be in a hurry when I paint. All these things are non-condusive to good relaxed painting. But on the plus side, since I have had to use the 'colors exclusively if I didn't want just an inked drawing, I have gotten to know them better, and see how they work for full coloring. Before, I mainly used them for highlights and shading for the painted parts, a technique I still favor. Love watercolors.
