Posted 9 years agoSo, I couldn't work as much as I thought when I was off for the wedding, and I'm sorry about that, I'm home now and I'll get back to work soon.
Um, when I got home, we discovered that one of our cats had gotten out sometime last night. They're indoor cats but our door is a little janky and it failed sometime during the night, our roommate discovered it when they woke up and our orange tabby was nowhere to be found. They've been looking on and off since they got up at 8am, and we've been doing the same since we got home.
I'm trying so hard to be the rock in this situation because everyone's upset and I'm trying really hard to only freak out internally for a while, I'm so pent up I'm trying so hard to keep everyone together.
But yeah, enough of my sob story I just needed to get it out. I'm still working on the queue I promise, just please PLEASE understand if I do just personal work for a little, I'm trying to process things and keep positive but it's so fucking hard.

Basically what happened is I had to do portfolio stuff bc I had friends who were graduating, then got ill afterwards and have basically been sleeping for days because of it- IE no computer usage. I'm better now though and ON BREAK, so this is my only priority rn.
I AM going to a wedding in a couple days, however I'm gonna try to hole myself up in a room and work the whole time so that's not really a problem.
ANYWAYS- starting with 3 slots of normal commissions, and to ease myself back, 5 PWYW slots. I have a previously interested client from those who was around before I had to close them, so one will be reserved until the status on that is confirmed one way or another.
Prices are in my commissions tab- Also, please ask me if you'd like something that isn't on there.
I am willing to do icons (the same price as headshots), and I am more than up for doing customs and reference sheets as well.
In regards to references, I'm going to do those more in regards to what the client wants, so it's really subject to change (base price'll likely be 30 for front/back. Add-ons can be discussed for extra).
Same goes for customs, I'll put a custom surcharge (which is dependent on how complex you want) on the type of commission you'd like to see of it- that way I could do sketch customs or just simple flats if you feel you don't need a full reference sheet or something.

Finals are this coming week and I am behind as usual because lmao what is control of my life???? Anyways-
I have a couple people waiting on me for the giveaway (three to be exact), and I'm gonna have to postpone working on those until the quarter ends <3 Once break starts I should be able to pick those back up and finish them lickety-split but you know, priorities. Thank y'all in advance for your patience.
Uh, I usually have PWYW slots open even while usual commissions aren't because they serve as good warmups, but I don't think I'll be able to get to those either as time currently stands, so those are closed temporarily. THAT BEING SAID- Once finals ARE over I am going to open them back up as well as a new round of commission slots. I have a couple people who have expressed interest, so I'll likely message them before I officially make the slots available to the public for courtesy's sake- I am unsure how many slots I'm doing, that'll all depend on time and interest. I also may offer new types as well??? idk-
LASTLY- I made a lil 3 page B&W comic for my school's zine and I may post that in a little? I gotta find a good reduce-able size that won't absolutely KILL all detail (the original's 11x17 so) and also need to find how to properly watermark things and all that jazz. I'll likely also post it to twitter because I worked on it for quite a bit and I'd like people to see it ;v; It's human-oriented but quite a couple of you like my humans (which I'm SO happy for btw) so idc

I'm gonna buy a carvel cake and a cheap bottle of wine at publix because humor and I've lost control of my life.
But for now I'm going to bed, I just wanted to make a journal about this before I went to sleep lmao

I need the money but like, classes are starting up and I'm already behind because I had to miss the first week of class. Point is, I know I really haven't gotten many recently but I don't wanna deal with it so commissions are closed again. Sorry.
I've also dealing with a bunch of dumb head stuff I ain't gonna bother any of you with, so any work will probably be mostly personal stuff until I get out of this rut. I just don't have too much free time and like, what I have of it I wanna try and be happy. If stuff lightens up some I'll get things finished, I really don't have much to finish in the first place so it's more just kinda aggravating at my incapability to get things done. If anyone who I owe stuff to would like anything extra to compensate for the time, please just let me know and I'll make sure to do that for you when I next can.
PWYWs are still /kinda/ gonna be open? They're gonna be limited to streams though, if I end up doing any streams around this time (which I'm going to try to I do genuinely enjoy streaming)
Lastly, my birthday is on August 4th, and I'm gonna be 21. Birthdays are... a real hard time for me to begin with. I'm gonna try to keep positive though! I'm planning on doing stuff with my partner and honestly I need a really good day so I'm hesitantly looking forward to it lmao

I hurt my back
Posted 9 years ago3-4 days ago I woke up with super bad lower/middle back pain. I haven't been able to sit up right without it hurting for the past couple days so I haven't been able to work. It's been waning a bit today and just feels super tense unless I'm sitting up for a while, then it starts hurting again as it's been. I'm 95% sure it's partly because of my terrible posture but I just generally have back problems that run in my family too so who knows. Honestly my joints crack like rice crispies on a good day and I already deal with an RMD in my left hand so I'm not surprised at any of this.
Either way I've been looking into getting a back brace to see if that helps? If anyone has any advice/recommendations on that I'd super appreciate it.
Things are being slow but I promise I am working on them, I'm just trying to take it easy because I want to get better. Hope you understand.

Posted 9 years agoOkay so I got really sick this past week so I couldn't get any work done so I'm behind as FUCK in class. And midterms are next week. So I'm fucking dying over here.
POINT IS- Commissions are closed, I can't take any more of a workload rn so I'm not gonna be taking any until I get my life together again and get caught up with everything. I did this a little bit ago but didn't formally say so, so here you go. Unless otherwise stated later they're probably gonna be closed until I go on break, and I'll make an announcement when that happens and all. This goes for trades too, but I MIGHT do a select few of those with mutuals once things are a little more settled bc they aren't as stressful as comms for me but who knows.
What does this mean for the things I owe? Well, I don't have any commissions to do anyways, I just gotta do the giveaway prizes and I have half a trade left with a friend of mine who understands the situation. WHICH WILL GET DONE. I'm just not able to work on them until I finish my midterms, which are monday-wednesday. If I'm not destroyed by the end of class expect some work on those after wednesday?

oh fyi- the slots are per client, not per commission. I just feel it's more fair that way because if someone wants something like two different (unlinked) chibis it only takes up one slot instead of two. I only take three small works (headshots, chibis), or two larger ones (waists, fulls) per client at a time per slot though.

I can guarantee everything done in a timely manner, but they won't be as lickety split as I have been (sorry, class comes first). I'm going to be limiting the amount of trades I take (basically I'm not gonna ask for them anymore and if you come to me for them I'm probably gonna have to decline, I however might take a few on a case-by-case basis.) and I MIGHT open up for another round of commissions within the next couple weeks, but that ultimately depends how rough my classes end up being (so don't bank on it, if you want a commission, commission me NOW.)

oh fyi- the slots are per client, not per commission. I just feel it's more fair that way because if someone wants something like two different (unlinked) chibis it only takes up one slot instead of two. I only take three small works (headshots, chibis), or two larger ones (waists, fulls) per client at a time per slot though.
