Closing commissions for a while
Posted 10 years agoHey guys, just a head's up. I'm currently working on a two-part commission, but after that, I'm gonna close down accepting new commissions for a while. I'm rather stressed out lately, and I miss working on my own stories. Haven't posted anything that was entirely my own since March. :P
Hope nobody's too disappointed to hear that. I just need to get my own creative juices flowing for a while, eh?

Posted 10 years agoJust wanted to wish my favourite country a happy 148th birthday, and my fellow Northerners a happy Canada Day!
Hey, here's a thought, with the Americans legalizing gay marriage and healthcare, we're running out of things to lord over them! We'd better legalize marijuana quickly...

Got my wisdom teeth out today...
Posted 10 years agoWell, I made it, guys. I was super nervous getting there, and it turns out when you're not allowed to drink anything you get seriously parched, but all in all things are okay. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck!
The actual procedure was easier than a regular trip to the dentist, to be honest, because as some people suggested, it was more or less instantaneous from my perspective. It felt kinda like one of those old movies that aren't maintained properly;
I'm sitting in the dental chair with the gas mask over my nose, and the medical team are all standing around. I suddenly get the distinct impression they're all waiting for something.
I'm sitting in the same dental chair and suddenly I'm high as fuck and the whole bottom half of my face is numb. The nurse who'd been helping me set up notices I'm stirring, and he helps me to a little futon off to the side of the office for me to rest in until the lightheadedness wears off.
So that was interesting. They've got me on antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and good old fashioned painkillers. On the downside, as my face has slowly been coming back to life (and it's taken all day for this to happen, must have used some serious numbing), I gradually become more and more aware of a persistent ache in my jaws. At least I don't have to stuff gauze in my mouth anymore, the bleeding stopped hours ago. Ewwwww...
So all I've had to eat today was yogurt and a milkshake, not even allowed hot food like oatmeal yet because it could inflame the swelling, but all in all, it went really well, I'm rid of that cracked tooth, and things are going okay. Can only get better from here, right? *knocks on wood*

Posted 10 years agoLike it says there up in the title!
Sitting here, not eating or drinking anything (doctor's orders), and I find myself getting preeeeetty nervous thinking about it.
I know logically that it's no big deal of course, people get it done all the time and there's like a 97% chance of it going absolutely perfectly, but I'm kind of a wuss and I've never had a "real" surgical procedure where they put you under for it, even if it is just oral surgery.
So, any words of encouragement? Similar experiences to share? Distracting videos of adorable things capering and prancing? :B

Hey guys, just a note
Posted 10 years agoI posted a similar message to this one on SoFurry and Inkbunny last year, but the problem had never really manifested on FA before. Now I'm adding it here, too, for completion's sake.
I just wanted to say, I've gotten quite a few comments on commissioned stories now, in various places, asking me if I plan to write more about those characters or continue the story or what have you. Now, I don't mind this at all when it's one of my stories, ask away on those, go nuts, but I just wanted to make sure this was clear: any story whose submission title starts with "[Commission]" is a story I was paid by someone else to write, usually featuring their characters and a basic plotline of their design. So it's possible that they could be continued, sometimes they're set up as little mini-series right from the get-go (like the little set of stories about
SilverRat's kangaroo siblings), but that would be entirely up to the commissioner, not me.
I'm not upset or anything, I just wanted to clear that up, make sure we were all on the same page. And like I said, go ahead and ask whatever you want on my own stories. I might not always have an answer, but at least I'm the guy to talk to in those cases. n_n

Still open for business!
Posted 10 years agoA couple of commissions in a row have fallen through, and I know it's been a while since I talked about it publically, so I thought I'd make this quick reminder that I am in fact open for commissions, and you can get a customized story of roughly 10,000 words for $40 Canadian. Just send me a PM, and we'll see if your idea is one I can work with.
I Had a Good One. n_n
Posted 10 years agoWell, today was my birthday, and I think things went pretty well. Maybe turning 30 isn't so bad after all. Spent time with my family, relaxed at home, ordered Chinese, watched a good movie, and retired for the evening with my friends. Doesn't have to be big and fancy to be a good day, and I certainly enjoyed mine. We decided to reschedule Age of Ultron for tomorrow, but I did re-watch the original Avengers movie today to get hyped for it, and it was just as fun as it's ever been. Happy Birthday to me, indeed. n_n

Tick tock, tick tock...
Posted 10 years agoSo my birthday is on Friday. I mention this not because of attention, but because I'm going to be turning thirty years old, and even though I keep reminding myself that it's just a number, it's got me feeling kind of out of sorts.
So far I've been able to avoid the feelings of Oh God what am I doing with my life that I expected would accompany this particular occasion, but I'd be lying if I said my general lack of progress since I graduated from college didn't bother me. It also doesn't help that thanks to my genes, I got my first grey hair when I was eighteen, and now there are sizable patches of it in my hair and individual hairs popping up in my goatee.
I'm doing my best to stay positive and cheery. For starters, I'm gonna celebrate my birthday by seeing the new Avengers movie (no spoilers in the comments please, you dinguses ;B), and I've been looking forward to that all year. I'm also putting the finishing touches on a story, which always feels good, especially when it's a commission, though I doubt it'll be ready in time to go out as a reverse birthday present.
I know, deep down, that turning thirty is no big deal, but I'd still appreciate any advice you guys might have to offer on how to cheer up, just to keep a smile on this old man's face.

Public Service Announcement
Posted 10 years agoHello friends, this is just a reminder that today is March 31st, which means tomorrow will be April 1st, and accordingly, there's a 40-70% chance, depending on the creator, that anything you see or read online tomorrow will be a filthy lie.
Sadly, I personally haven't prepared an April Fool's story this year, but I still occasionally get angry comments on the one I wrote in 2013, so maybe that's for the best. XD

Spring is coming
Posted 10 years agoWell, I said I would try and be less closed up this year, and what do you know, here it is mid-March and I've still got the 2014 review journal on my front page. Whoops!
I suppose part of the problem is that for the most part, the last three months have been par for the course. I'm writing stories, doing LP videos to keep myself entertained, watching a whole lot of TV and drinking a whole lot of coffee, and going on the occasional long walk to gather my thoughts. Don't really have a lot to talk about. :B
I suppose I could mention that it's been a while since I did any commissions, since I kinda got carried away with my own stuff, so once I'm done with the story I'm currently writing (and I think it's gonna be a great one, for the record n_n), I'm gonna get in touch with the interested parties who've reached out to me, and reward their saint-like patience by getting off my duff and taking them up on their offers. n_n
I don't really know how to wind down, not that I'm ever particularly good at that with journals, so, uh, what about you guys? How are things going? What's up? Having a good time? :B

2014, Year in Review
Posted 11 years agoHeya guys, the time has come again!
Gazing over to the master list on the journal page, I'm amazed I only posted five journals last year, including "2013, Year in Review". XD
2014 was a big, important year, for many reasons. I'm afraid my lot in life didn't change a whole lot, still living in the same place, haven't been published, and I'm only doing small-time commissions, but I'm gonna look at the positive!
I did a whole lot of those commissions and never disappointed a customer, I wrote a whole whack of stories and improved my writing, a kind of progress I always appreciate, and I started a big project that I'm afraid so far I can only hint at mysteriously and teasingly. Hopefully, by the time I do the next of these journals, you'll know all about it, knock on wood. n_n
Without further ado, let's see how I did last year!
January
The Shape of Things: Starting Over: Things started off well with a reboot to one of my most treasured characters, Vincent Linus, re-introducing us to the shapeshifter with the green tongue, as well as his new roommate Andrew, and his long-lost sister Tai, who seems much more attached to her niola than Andrew would prefer.
February
Through Thick and Thin: This one was the first commission of the year, for my good friend
OliverStormsong, a Valentine's Day-themed work about Hannah and Walter, a pair of friends who meet up to commiserate about their singlehood while the rest of the world celebrates romantic couples. Shamefully, I wasn't able to complete it in time for the actual holiday, but I still consider it one of the high points of the year, work-wise.
March
Consolation: The fourth of the commissioned stories for
SilverRat regarding his kangaroo siblings Alex and Jessica, in which Jessica shares some terrible news with her brother, with whom she recently started a romantic relationship. Now Alex must find a way to restore her crushed spirits and bring her hope again.
April
Twin Souls: A return to my fantasy world of Rilodell, in which we meet Boris and Illiana, a pair of bats who sound Russian in my head, who are seeking the help of a wizard named Felix to remedy a problem: they're twin brother and sister, and they're crazy for each other.
May
I Love You Twice: A Proper Apology: Dave and Kelly Parrish make their first of two appearances this year with Kelly forcefully confronting Dave, who has been avoiding her ever since he embarrassed himself when they were trying to get intimate. Kelly's tired of the silent treatment, though, and wants him to make things up to her in a big way...
June
Understuffed: The first of a new series of commissions for
SilverRat, following a shy, introverted mouse named Jasper and his attempts to avoid his flirtatious rabbit neighbour Becky, to indulge in his secret passion for the soft, gentle touch of plush toys. I've been told by multiple people that they enjoyed these stories even though they're not into plushie stuff, so I consider them a major victory on my part, especially since it's not one of my kinks, either. n_n
July
Homecoming: A commission for
Psyphix, this story is about a soldier named Laura safely returning home to her boyfriend Jordan after serving a tour overseas, and Jordan's efforts to show the quadrupedal wolfess exactly how much he missed her when she was away. Writing a completely different body type than usual was a fun challenge, one I might try again in the future on my own time. n_n
August
Okay, this one's kinda tricky. See, I did do a fairly intense amount of writing in August, but it didn't make it online because of Reasons. :B
So instead of linking a new story for this month's spot, I'm gonna name the three chapters of Curse of the Shieldfall I posted online for the first time in August (The Tower of Thaniel, That Sinking Feeling, and Lost and Found), even though I actually wrote those stories in 2013 without posting them.
September
I Dream of Drowzee: My first-ever Pokémon fanstory, even if Fur Affinity's .txt reader can't properly display the é in "Pokémon".
In this story, a slumbering Abra finds himself intensely turned on and unable to do anything about it while his body is asleep, so he telepathically contacts a nearby Drowzee to come Do Things to him in his sleep, only for things to take an unexpected turn...
October
Of Descent and Debauchery: Fun fact, I actually wanted to call this one "Ups and Downs", but discovered upon glancing at FA's frontpage when I went to upload that another writer had just posted a completely unrelated story with exactly the same title, and I'd feel weird and kinda bad having it right next to another story with the same name, and I was kind of excited to share it right away, so I changed the title to this somewhat awkward one. :B
This one's a proper short, the first one I've done in years, about a guy named Mike who discovers that dreams can come true when he shares an elevator with his crush, Linda.
November
The Shape of Things: Where the Heart Is: Still kind of embarrassed that I only got around to following up on January's story eleven months later. This one's about Tai Linus stubbornly continuing to try and get in her brother's pants, and Vinnie somewhat reluctantly explaining to Andrew what her deal is, and why he left the Mokaji homeland in the first place.
December
I Love You Twice: Attention: Coming out just in time to make sure I had at least one story in every month of the year, this one sees Dave getting some alone time to catch up on his reading, and Kelly showing him exactly what happens when you try to ignore a cat, especially a cat that loves you. n_n
So there you have it! Just like last year, there were a few months in here where I had more than one thing to choose from, like two more chapters of
SilverRat's plushie saga, Eric and Milo's appearance in April, or the extremely short Services follow-up I wrote for a contest in July (but forgot to post here until November :B), and also just like last year I'd like to give a big shout out to
RoninDrake for helping me stay on-task and assisting with my proofreading. You the man, Drake. n_n
I apologize if I've seemed more distant or aloof this last year, I admit I've been kinda stressed from worrying and fretting over things, and that's kept me from engaging with people much further than replying to comments on my work (and after six years of doing this online, I'm still terrible at doing that in a timely fashion :B), but that's one of the things I'm gonna try and improve on this year, do more journals to let you guys know how I'm doing, or what random-ass thoughts are going through my head.
In any event, 2014 was a very productive year, and I've got high hopes for 2015. With any luck, there'll be even more exciting developments to talk about this time next year. n_n

Posted 11 years agoYou know, I don't know about the rest of you, but for a change, I feel pretty good as I go to bed, even if it is so late it's early by now.
Working on a short story that's coming along pretty well, might be able to have that up soon, my side projects seem to be doing fine, I've been reading some really good books lately, and my family and friends are doing just great, knock on wood.
I just wanted to mention that, since it's really nice to be able to go to bed with a smile on your face, and I've had some days recently where I went to bed dejected or feeling discouraged, so I can really appreciate that.
Today was a good day. n_n

Happy September, Everybody :B
Posted 11 years agoEr, hey guys...
Soooo, it's suddenly September and I thought some of you might be wondering where I'd gotten to. Well, I've been around, but August was a bit of a tricky month for me, creatively-speaking. I ended up starting and scrapping multiple stories last month, some to come back to later, some to re-do entirely, at least I haven't openly given up on any of those ideas.
But I did, eventually, get some really productive work done for the last couple weeks of the month... on a side project that I'm not ready to discuss openly yet. You'll just have to wait and see, but I think this one's gonna be great, hehe.
I just wanted to let you faithful readers know I'm still alive, and I'm hoping to finish some stuff I can actually post online soon enough. I hope the first three Curse of the Shieldfall stories were enough to tide you over in August, and I just wanted to mention that as always, I'm still open for commissions.
Here's hoping we see more of each other this month. n_n

Forgot something important!
Posted 11 years agoI knew there was something I forgot to do on Thursday! I forgot to make a journal saying that it was my birthday, and that I turned 29! Oh dearie dearie me. Ah well, it was a splendid day, all told, went and saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (totally rad, by the way, go see it), spent some quality time with family and friends, and had a lovely caramel cheesecake for celebrations. P:
I do feel a little sad that I didn't manage to get anything published and become a 'real' author, the way I hoped I would in last year's birthday journal (Iron Man 3 turned out to be a little disappointing, for the record), but I still have hope for the future.

A Word on the Next Story
Posted 12 years agoHeya folks, just felt this needed to be said, to set up the next tale I post here, which is in the proofreading stage as we speak.
It's about our old friend, Vincent Linus, whom we haven't seen in something of a long time. See, the reason we haven't seen Vinnie in so long is that I couldn't reconcile the ideas I had for the future of that storyline with the reality of where the story had already gone. Sorry to be vague, but here's a more direct statement:
Consider this next story one of those Reboots that are so popular in mass media these days, maybe an alternate universe from the one we've been seeing all this time. Just consider the old Vinnie to have found his Happily Ever After with Michelle, if you were worried about that. I'm not much in the business of unhappy endings. n_n
So this Vinnie hasn't slept around with a bunch of characters belonging to people I know, and hasn't fallen for, done The Deed with, or even met an arctic vixen named Michelle Baines. He's had a few relationships here and there, but most of them aren't going to be relevant to the stories going forward, and he shares an apartment with his best friend, a Komodo dragon named Andrew who is in on his secret and likes to make fun of his efforts to impress ladies. n_n
I hope you guys aren't too disappointed that I'm resorting to a reboot rather than continuing the old storyline, but I figured that if it meant getting Vincent stories written more than once in a blue moon, it was really for the best. That being said, I also hope you enjoy this new storyline and where we're going from here.
JOURNAL OVER.

2013, Year in Review
Posted 12 years agoHappy New Year, friends and readers! n_n
Well! Another year has come and gone, and while I'm still not a famous published author (yet), I feel that I've legitimately improved as a writer and feel really good about the work I've done this year, particularly about finally starting to accept commissions.
Just like in 2012, I didn't have any empty gaps in my publishing schedule, and credit where credit's due, I feel like that's thanks in large part to
RoninDrake, for letting me bounce ideas and problems off him and working through stories together nearly every single night. Thanks much, Drake. n_n
That being said, let's take a look at the list!
January
A Blue's Acceptance: I started the year off strong with the third story about Jack and Yajondra, the simple human and the dragoness he met in the city, now dealing with such complexities as meeting the parents and the town being ambushed by bandits.
February
I Love You Twice: Secrets to Sleep On: A more-or-less clean instalment in the on-going saga of Dave and Kelly Parrish, in which Kelly hosts a sleepover for some of her closest friends, and tries to balance being a good hostess with making sure nobody works out her secret relationship with her brother.
March
Her Number One Fan: One of the stories I'm most proud of, this one is a fairly meta tale about a young squirrel who writes incestuous stories online to help deal with the enormous crush she has on her brother, and the peculiar new fan she picks up one day...
April
Eric and Milo: First, One, & Only Love: I kinda thought I might be giving away the game by making the subtitle of this one an acronym for "FOOL", but an awful lot of people fell for this April Fool's Day prank, where Anne daydreams about her brothers confessing real romantic feelings for each other, and boy, did they let me know about it! n_n
May
I Love You Twice: Coming Clean: Returning to the Parrishes, I thought I would write a relatively uncomplicated story about Dave and Kelly fooling around in the school showers, since I realized I had ended more than one story with them about to take a shower together without showing the reader the fun details.
June
Unprecedented in my annual review journals, I'm gonna name two different stories for this month. I was exceptionally proud of Milo and Gela: Treetop Tryst, which brought Milo's tomboyish best-friend-with-benefits back for the first time in years, but it's also the month I wrote Cetacean Vacation, my first official commission (for
MrMephit, by the way), and what better topic than a pair of dolphin siblings who love each other very much? n_n
July
John and Kee: Double Feature: July was a troubling month for me, but it didn't stop me from writing, and one of the stories I posted was this anonymously-commissioned story to continue the antics of John the fox and his effeminate brother Kieran.
August
I Love You Twice: Dancing in the Dark: Showing up in this journal an unprecedented third time, Dave and Kelly return to talk about their fears for the future, and to comfort each other in the quiet privacy of the middle of a playground, the best way they know how.
September
Her Man Problems: Another commission, for
Leons1, notable as the first story I've ever written with herm content in it, this one is about a girl named Rio confiding her biggest secret in her big brother Leon.
October
The Wyrmvault Twins: The Luck of Thieves: The long-requested sequel to The Treasure We Find from the previous April, this story catches up with twin vulpine thieves Thassius and Venara to show us that even though they're comfortably wealthy now doesn't mean they're just going to sit on their laurels, not when there's loot to be gained from corrupt noblemen!
November
The Wyrmvault Twins: After the Job: Picking up after the previous entry's cliffhanger ending, we find Thassius in the cruel clutches of Baron Norton, who has a lot more in store for the fox than anticipated. Will the Baron force himself on Thassius for the rest of his life? Well, of course not, TastesLikeGreen wrote the story. :B
December
Good Vibrations: Rounding out the year, and just in time for Christmas, we find this curious story about a lonely girl who buys a magic sex toy on the Internet, only to discover that its true power lies in companionship, not enchantment. n_n
And there we have it! I noticed a lot of sentiment that people are unusually happy to put 2013 behind them, I guess it was very rough for a lot of people. On that note, I hope for all of you that 2014 brings you higher highs and shallower lows. But it was still one of the most productive years for my writing in recent history. There were quite a few months up there that I was able to pick from multiple stories, and one where I had to pick more than one for the slot. Hell, I didn't even mention the series of commissions I wrote for
SilverRat about his kangaroo siblings, and I did three of them in 2013! Honourable mention also goes to The Daily Grind, as it was one of the trickiest things I wrote last year, due to the restrictions on length and content.
All this being said, I have big hopes for 2014, where I hope to do more commissions, weave more tales, and bring you guys the best fiction I can write. For starters, the first story I intend to write will bring back an old friend we haven't seen in quite some time, whose story I felt could use a bit of a pick-me-up. I'm quite excited about that, and I hope to post a journal detailing more when the time is right. n_n
So yes! Thank you for joining me in this annual look back. I hope you all had a lovely 2013, I truly thank you all from the bottom of my heart for continuing to read my stories, and I hope we all have a wonderful, happy year in 2014. Later!

Merry Christmas, you guys n_n
Posted 12 years agoNothing too fancy here, I just wanted to thank all you fine Green readers (greeders?) for watching me and choosing to peruse my stories, and wish you all a Merry Christmas, or a happy whatever-other-holiday-you-happen-to-celebrate. You make all the frustration and stress that can come from working with words worth it, and I'm happy to have each and every one of you on board. n_n
I hope you all have a lovely day!
P.S., I know I just posted Good Vibrations, but I've got another story in the works that's well on its way, so while it won't be going up tonight, it looks like it'll be showing up in your inboxes soon (knock on wood), so I thought I'd mention that to give you one more reason to smile. n_n

Update~
Posted 12 years agoSo! Commissions have been going pretty well. Out of the first batch, I've just got one left, and I haven't had any major complaints yet, knock on wood. I've also gotten to try a few new things in these stories, things that haven't come up in my own work. One of those new things will become fairly self-evident when I post my most recently completed story (which will be real real soon, incidentally), but most of the others have been more subtle.
So I'd say this first round has been pretty successful, and I'm encouraged enough that I'll probably be doing these in the future. Maybe even do it regularly if people send me more offers, hehe.
Just thought I'd let you know where I was at right now, since I've been kinda quiet lately. I'm still here, and I'm still writing. n_n

A Word on the Next Story
Posted 12 years agoSo my first attempt at commissions has been going pretty well so far, barring a few roadblocks I've managed to find my way around (Still open for those, by the way, in case any of you fine people were still interested ).
But the next story that I'm going to post isn't exactly a commission. A friendly chap over on SoFurry wanted to pay me simply to move the next story in the I Love You Twice series ahead on the schedule, so I'm doing it now instead of "whenever the mood takes me", which is my usual impetus for starting a chapter. :B
I'm posting this journal for a couple of reasons, first to reassure the people I still have commissions lined up for that I'm not just brushing them off to work on my own stuff, still doing this for a customer, after all, but also to address the fact that I'm not really sure how this particular service is going to work, truth be told.
See, while I'm happy to do it, if people just wanted to pay me to write nothing but ILYT or Eric and Milo all the time, I would probably burn out fairly quickly on those stories. I mean, it's not like I got a whole ton of offers for that service, but still. So I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to handle that going forward. For now, I guess that, like the commissions themselves, I'll have to take it on a case-by-case basis. :P
Hope that was informative, even if it was vague. :B

"You may not have been his friend, but he was yours."
Posted 12 years agoRyan Davis, one of the founders of Giant Bomb dot com, my favourite gaming website, has passed away.
There are any number of reasons this is a tragedy - he was only thirty-four, he'd been married less than a week - but it's probably no good dwelling on those. He was an amazing man who was beloved by thousands of people in the gaming community, but there have been heartfelt tributes to him written by many of the people who knew him best, so I won't dwell. I'm writing this to focus on something else. How I learned it's possible to mourn someone you don't know.
I had been watching Ryan on videos and livestreams and listening to him on podcasts for almost a decade now, probably starting in 2004, when he worked for GameSpot, another gaming site. But of course I'd never met the man in person, never been introduced. He was an Internet figure, and I was one of countless fans, invisible in the masses. So while I felt genuine happiness the weekend before last as I perused the pictures of his wedding that his friends and co-workers had shared with the Internet through Twitter, it's not like I had been invited myself.
And yet, when I heard the news on Monday, through a small, dignified article, it felt like I'd been punched in the stomach. Maybe even, to borrow a metaphor I'm fond of using in my stories, like I'd been stabbed in the chest with an icicle. Even as I was reading other peoples' sorrowful, respectful reactions, tears were welling up in my eyes over a man I'd never met and who had no idea I existed, for whom the closest thing to ever being aware I existed was directly addressing a joke I made in the chat on a livestream once. At first (after I got past the initial hope that this was just a tasteless joke about a man on his honeymoon), I found myself asking why I was reacting this way, why this was so different to me than any other 'celebrity' passing, even, for a while, feeling embarrassed that I was reacting so strongly.
Later that day, while it was still stewing within me, I saw an article title that summed it up really, really well for me. "Ryan Davis: You may not have been his friend, but he was yours." And then I realized it. That's what it felt like. Someone who had made me smile and laugh, who brought joy to my life, whose antics I always looked forward to seeing and hearing about, who made it easier for me to get through the hard times, had passed away, and I was grieving over his loss. In a way, though I'd never really realized it, Ryan was my friend.
Whether or not we realized it beforehand, the entire gaming community has lost a friend, and I just hope and pray that he had some vague idea of just how much he meant to us.
Rest in peace, Ryan Davis. Thank you so much, for everything. We all loved you, and we'll never forget you. Here's hoping I get to share one of those infamous sweaty hugs someday after all.

Open For Story Commissions!
Posted 12 years agoSo I've been toying with the idea off and on for a few years now, and I've finally decided to take the plunge and open for commissions.
Bear with me, I've never done this before, but I've got a good feeling about this. Bibliophile and Study Break were a personal commission and a trade, respectively, and those were very well-received.
Twin Desires was also a trade, and I'd say you can use that as a rough example of what you could expect from a Green commission. Doesn't have to be sexual in nature, of course, I'll gladly write a totally clean story.
For the business side of things, I would be charging a flat $40 (that's in Canadian money, but PayPal has automatic conversions of such things, so it isn't a big deal) for about 8-10K words. Twin Desires, for reference, contains 9,746 words.
Now, given that stories are rather more in-depth than pictures, this won't be first-come-first-serve, I would ask that interested parties send me a PM with a brief summary of your idea, and I'll see which ones I think I can work with.
I'll try and get a more complete list of such things up later, but for now I'll mention that I am (as you all are no doubt aware) way into the idea of sibling incest, so ideas with this theme would be easiest for me to write, though of course it is by no means necessary for your characters to be related for me to work on your idea. As for things on the no list, you should avoid watersports, scat, and other bodily functions, as well as basically anything non-consensual, be it sex or transformations or whatever. If anything else comes up in a 'pitch', I'll let you know in private conversation.
I'm actually working on a story at the time of this posting, but I'd like to get some ideas coming my way so that I can get to work once it's finished.
I'm pretty excited to finally be doing this, and I hope it goes well. n_n

28 Years Later
Posted 12 years agoHorror fans need not bother reading, this journal is happily zombie-free. As for everyone else...
So! Today is my birthday. n_n
Turned twenty-eight, I did, and aside from the obligatory Feeling Old, I'm pretty pleased with things. Lots of things to be improved on, I'm hoping this is the year I finally get something published and take a step towards becoming a 'real' writer, for starters. But today I'm focusing on the positives, and there's plenty to be positive about.
Kind of a low-key celebration, gonna have tacos for dinner and go see Iron Man 3 later tonight, heard good things. But I'm still feeling rather grand today, so that's pretty good in and of itself. n_n
Hope you guys have a lovely day too, as I think everyone deserves a smile today. :D
JOURNAL OVER, FESTIVITIES = VERY YES.

Hmmmm
Posted 12 years agoYou might have seen those empty stories I posted and said to yourself, "Myself, this is hardly in keeping with Green's normal behaviour. What is that talented Canadian stallion of an author up to?"
Actually it's far more likely you just looked blankly at the screen, wondered wtf was up with me, and moved along.
Well, you'll be pleased to know that this journal isn't going to explain anything. No wait, that's not pleased, that's the other thing. I always get those two confused.
Instead, I treat you to more nonsensical YouTube videos. n_n
>_> I think he's really gone off his rocker this time
Nah, it's just Thursday <_<
CONFUSION CONTINUES.

Oh dearie me (spoilers for that latest story)
Posted 12 years agoSo my latest story, Eric and Milo: First, One, & Only Love, was indeed an April Fool's Day joke on my part. Eric and Milo aren't really mates and lovers, it was just a daydream fantasized by their sister Anne, who likes to 'ship' her brothers together, much to their chagrin.
I kinda hinted at that by making the acronym of the title "FOOL". :B
Now I figured there would be some negative response to this one, given that it ends in a great big fake-out, but as I look through the responses on the three sites I've uploaded it to, I'm surprised to find how negative some of those responses are. It seems people were genuinely disappointed and/or upset that the events of the story weren't real (although, for the record, all the canine tradition lore I mentioned should be considered accurate).
Feeling rather dismayed and a little bit guilty at that, so I just wanted to wave a flag of truce and apologize; I never meant any harm with this story, it was a just a little joke on my part, so I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings or upset you, and I hope I haven't lost anyone's respect over this. I write my stories to make people smile, remember, so upsetting my audience wasn't exactly part of the plan. :P
Looks like next year, I'll be leaving April Fool's Day to other people, though it helps that I thought of this joke years ago and simply never managed to implement it before. One-and-done, folks, I'm all tapped out. XD
APOLOGY OVER.
Incoming story!
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, I'm working on putting the finishing touches on a story, one I've put a hell of a lot of effort into, just for you special readers, because it's going to be my 100th submission here on Fur Affinity (okay, that includes pictures and the silly-ass shorts in my scraps, but still).
I just thought it would be fair to warn you, this one is LONG. Now I know I've said that a lot lately, but this one is slightly longer than even A Blue's Acceptance, it's probably the longest thing I've ever written. I'm not sure why all my stories lately come out so lengthy, but trust me, I am fully aware of it, and I'm trying to work on being less verbose. :P
Don't worry, from the looks of things, April's story will be much more manageable, positively puny by comparison. You'll just have to wait and see.
JOURNAL OVER.
