Nothing new in quite a while
Posted 5 years agoI want to apologize to all the good people who are watching me about the lack of new art here. Since Covid hit, I havent commissioned anything (regardless of the want) because I am terrified about losing my job. Yes, I was furloughed for 2 months; yes, I had PPP; yes, I've been lucky and paying my bills as well as my mortgage. I feel quite fortunate in that.
HOWEVER!!!! I am terrified that everything will come crashing down, so I've been making extra payments on the house, being sure I am completely up to date on my utilities. Because of the fear, I have commissioned nothing since the year changed in January. Hopefully, I'll loosen up a little and order something soon.
Thanks for your patience!!!!

Confessions Day 2
Posted 12 years agoDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
1) I am always trying to learn. Sometimes, it is too late to save a friendship, but I try to learn from the experience.
2) Yep. I'm needy, emotionally. I like having my loved ones around, and knowing they want and need me.
3) I hate the mirror, and I am not fond of pictures of myself. I never see what other people see.
4) I like spending time alone.
5) I'm a little old-school: manners are important. Unfortunately, manners change over time.
6) I love to work. At least there are 8 hours in a day where I behave myself.
7) I always try understand what the other needs or wants. Communication is so important to me.
8) Honesty is critical. How can I understand or believe if a past history is not honest?
9) I'm a drunk. I've used all kinds of drugs. They are a lose, a dead end. The escape is, in fact, a trap...
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession

10 Days worth of confessions.
Posted 12 years agoThis is a wonderful idea. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do it as well. So... here it is
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
1) I dont understand love. It is painful and, in many ways, not empowering. But, it makes one commit to another human being. That, through all the pain and humiliation, is worth it all...
2) Love can't be transfered from one to another. Give it time, and don't try to make it happen.
3) Thank you for standing with me, for being a guide. Without you, I know I would be lost.
4) Age does not bring wisdom. Some of the wisest people that I know are old inside, but young outside.
5) Don't waste your time and your youth on lies. Face self, face evil, face difficulty, and choose the hard way.
6) Follow the dreams that haunt your sleep. Dreams are reality.
7) Show no shame at the things that were done to you. Shame can only be brought to one's self through one's own actions.
8) My respect for you knows no limit; you have values that are not of this time, and your conduct proves that.
9) You have given me friendship, and I still fear entanglement. You are an enigma that I cant solve... should I even try?
10) You make me laugh, that you want things to be so black and white. For you, I hope that they are...

Obsidian Fox 6336 and Confessions
Posted 12 years agoObsidian Fox has an interesting journal piece out... 10 days worth of confessions. The one thing that really stood out to me was the part about being needy. That part of me has probably screwed up more good things than anything else. I wish I was more secure about the affection of others, but I'm not. I need someone special to make me feel special, and I need to do that for others, as well. Even at this age, I still discover things all the time. Some things I wish I discovered earlier in life. I might have kept those dearest to me, and they may have wanted to stay close.
Hookah!
Posted 12 years agoWell, I finally fired up the hookah, and I really wish I hadn't waited. Aside from the minor issues of trying to figure out how much shisha to use so I dont waste what I have, what a wonderful way to relax! Now I understand why a former mate used to 'bogart' the hose so much.
As a former smoker, I was a little concerned that the act of smoking would lead me back into tobacco use again, but I purchased herbal, not tobacco-based shishas, and I dont feel the need for cigarettes at all. Sadly, the orange is almost gone, and I will have to buy a large pot of it... so I have a little choice!
It's really too bad that so many think that hookahs are simply another way to use tobacco, or worse, a way to get high. Something tells me they have a bad rap.
