Grey Fox Head for sale!
Posted 9 years agohttps://www.thedealersden.com/listi.....ox-head/123874
Decided to go ahead and list this smiley fella up for sale now in hopes of funding my very first trip to MFF. I do have more fur to match, enough for a nice big tail to go with him at least. So if the buyer would be interested in buying a tail and possibly armsleeves or feetpaws, I would be up for working out a deal for them as an additional commission. This is my first auction and my first head made for anyone other than myself, so I really hope it goes well.

New Premade Grey Fox head!
Posted 9 years agoI've just completed my first premade fursuit head! Well, first one not intended for my own personal use that is. I'm having issued getting the pictures uploaded here, but for anyone who happens to watch me on here and who would like a peek at it while I try to get FA to cooperate, you can see the pictures over on my deviantart gallery.

I'm working on figuring out a pattern to make a tail to go with him. He'll be up for sale soon! I'm hoping to get around $500 for him. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to make an offer.

Dewott won at GenCon!
Posted 10 years agohttps://youtu.be/QLnOMonv6rY
^ Here's the video my sister shot for me at the costume contest at GenCon yesterday. I won first place in the Anime category and the judges even complimented me on my craftsmanship! Since craftsmanship is something I used to always struggle with on with my artwork in college, having a judge who works in fashion design say I did a good job really meant a lot to me.
For the record, I have never danced before. So I hope any real fursuit dancers who see my silly attempt at it take it easy on me. XD

Premade Heads?
Posted 10 years agoFor anyone who might be watching me or who stumbles over here and would like to share an opinion, I have a question. I am getting ready to make a few premade fursuit heads to try and sell as well as for practice making them. My question is, what sort of critters should I make? I'm considering a fox, a cat, a wolf, a lion (possibly sabertoothed), or some sort of mythical beast. Any opinions or suggestions about what sort of critter heads might sell well or at least be more attractive to potential buyers? I want to use these to build up a body of work so I have examples and a good idea of costs and completion times before I start trying to take custom commissions for this sort of thing.
Thinking about my next costume
Posted 11 years agoSo, I'm trying to make up my mind what to try next for making a fursuit/costume. I think I'd like to make a pokemon, since with that my sis will do a trainer costume to run around as my handler. Right now, I'm debating between Mew, Luxray and Dewot. If I don't do a pokemon, I'll be doing another dragon, I just don't know what kind of dragon.
Toothless on the loose!
Posted 11 years agoTook my Toothless suit out for my first time "in the wild" today. I drafted my sister into being my handler. She donned some ren-faire garb since we don't have a good hiccup costume for her (yet). We went to the local Barnes & Noble because they're having a page-to-screen weekend event.
I had a ton of fun clowning around a bit and giving hugs and high-fives. I only had one kid be too scared of me to come over and say hi. I made the people working there laugh when I did a little Godzilla impression. I managed to last for about an hour and a half, which I don't think is too bad for my first time out in public.
We made a little side trip to Walmart on our way home (I needed to pick up something to spray my suit down with to keep it fresh and not stinky). In the parking lot on our way in, one guy stuck his head out of the car and said "You win forever!" Saw some more kids, waved, gave a few high-fives, payed for my cleaning spray and went home.
I'd say my first public suiting experience was a success. If anyone would like to share, I'd love to hear stories from others about their first time in a fursuit in public.

Taking Commissions!
Posted 11 years agoYou can get a better look at some of my work over in my deviantart gallery at http://thessur.deviantart.com . Payment for these will need to be through paypal only. Here's a list of what I'm offering with prices.
One character, colored and shaded, no background - $20
+ Add another character for $10 per character, up to 5 total
+ Add simple background (flat colors, not detailed) for $5
+ Add detailed background for $20
Detailed, cleaned up sketches with one character - $10-15 depending on complexity of the character
+ Add another character for $5 pre character, up to 5 total
+ Add shading for $5
+ Upgrade to lineart for $10
What I will do:
Any kind of animal you like, anthro-ish characters, some humans (though they aren't my strongest subject), fantasy stuff, especially dragons
What I won't do:
Anything NSFW, don't even ask. I also don't do "sexy" or pin-up poses.
That's pretty much it. If you can't comission me yourself, I'd also really appreciate maybe spreading the word to others if you want to.
