Sorry its been so long since I've uploaded properly, to be honest I just have so much stuff backdated that I need dedicated day to backup files off my iPad and upload them here. I currently spend all my time working on art and managing patreon/emails but will find time soon to sit down and share some recent art with you guys!

I'm mostly active on Twitter and Instagram, where I post small pieces daily (I have about 300 headshot commissions from this year that I wouldn't dare want to flood your inboxes with for a start~)

The headshot commissions have been absolutely key in dealing with burnout, as I'm almost through with the process of refunding illustration and cel commissions, after which I'll have a clear queue and be able to rethink how I do business going forward. Probably open for slots one at a time (without upsetting anyone? somehow? D:), but will see how I get on with the rest of my outstanding work first.

Whew that old journal had been up a long time!, just wanted to post a quick update!

I'm currently making great progress with my backlog and have only 10 pieces left down from 43 when i first started. I'm still only taking small commissions like sketches and telegram stickers to pay the bills while the last few are worked on, and just started taking the odd cel shaded piece recently too. I'm no longer burnt out but its just the volume of artwork that's taking time right now, and I'm still taking it slow to not aggravate my wrist pain too much. I'm so grateful to all my clients for their patience and being so cool about this, my offer for refunds or changing your commission still stands if you're one of the last 10, just get in touch via email.

Just for future reference, my old beaver fursona and fursuit are now under new ownership. If you see the character around online or fursuiting in person in future, it's not me, they now belong to  ickylemur ! I'm sure many of you weren't even aware I had a fursuit, as I had so few opportunities to wear it, so I'm really glad they'll get to be seen out and about from now on.

Hello FA friends!

So I'm starting to reconsider my monthly commission opening model, as it's obviously no longer working out. I may close my main commission queue for a long time and just start taking smaller things like icons, badges, iPad headshots etc as and when bills come up. It means I wouldn't be taking big illustrations regularly anymore but I think I need to close for them for good until my queue is finished. By underpricing and overworking myself for years I can now no longer work to the same output I could when I was younger and lived at home. When I started taking commissions I was still very green, let's be honest, but I have since held this feeling of not being worth the prices I charge for my entire career and all it did was shoot myself in the foot years later. I'm still stuck in that 2010 mindset of overcompensating in fear of the client feeling cheated.

I... don't want to be another burnout artist with a queue as their legacy. My queue keeps me awake at night. I see so many artists I looked up to for years ending up in holes they may never escape from. I also see those that raise their prices to fairly compensate themselves are often attacked for being seen as greedy, so I shy away from it.
I always finish my work, always, but it's just taking so much longer now. I'm nearing 30 and I have chronic pain in my wrist from trying to be the invincible art machine I felt I was. A one month turnaround isn't something I can manage anymore, and I need to take responsibility and figure out how else to do this. I never, ever want to compromise on quality. If anything I'm dying to improve.

I have lovely people email me all the time asking for commissions they have their heart set on, and I really do wish I could make art for you all. My fave part is bringing your ideas to life, but I just can't keep up with demand, even with my prices raised. It's all a real goddamn pickle.

I'm going to start opening for slots one or two at a time, to my twitter and my t.me/tazupdates, as and when I need to make ends meet. I will not be offering full illustrations or cel-shaded pieces again until the ones I have outstanding are finished to a high standard.

If you would like a big piece from me in future, please email me and I'll give you a reasonable time-frame in which we can discuss it. I promise your artwork will always be a one-off, and just how you like it. But I can't crank em out like I used to, pals. Life finally started happening to me whether I wanted it to or not!

If you're one of the kind souls on my queue who have been waiting 2-3 months already for their piece and you've had enough, please email me for a full refund. Otherwise, just sit tight, and keep an eye on Trello because it is coming!

I'll be going home for Christmas from 22nd to the 26th, and then until the 30th i'll be busy with moving and cleaning out my old apartment. I'll be working on WIPs and coloured sketches on my iPad when I get some downtime so work will keep moving forward.

I've decided after making some financial arrangements, I won't be opening commissions again until my current queue is cleared. Obviously I've had a small backlog for a while now and I want to nip this in the bud for good. I apologise if you've been waiting for the July opening! I will be opening in late August at the very earliest.
I've also realised for a while now that this monthly "big batch of slots" model I've done for several years isn't really working out for me long term anymore, so I'll be coming up with a new way of doing it. Probably means I'll open more frequently for less slots at a time so I can finish them before taking new ones, which means a much faster turnaround time. Having some time to think about it I guess!

Back from ConFuzzled at last, just enjoying one last rest day before returning to queued work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who made it special and thank you to all who came to visit my table! This will be the last time I'm dealing at any convention for a while so it was nice to see so many new and old faces.

My lightbox was broken beyond repair while I was in the den and I'm just waiting on a replacement, so once that arrives I'll be able to finish up traditional sketches and post them out. Sorry about not being able to finish them at the con.

To those wondering, I'll be pushing back commission opening date to Friday the 8th of June at 19:00 UK time, as I need time to catch up with things. Save the date!

Greetings everyone, not much to update really just working away as usual.
Currently getting all ConFuzzled badge orders out of the way, should be half through the list by Saturday and have the rest done next week. Most of my main queue is big detailed illustrations (including 3 town/city scenes RIP) so I'm chipping away at them best I can.
Commissioners, you are all so super patient and sweet for hanging around, I can only hope you like the results as much as I'm enjoying working on em! Will have the next lot of sketch WIPs ready to go out v soon.
Had a lot of personal nonsense and a huge burnout at the start of 2018, but glad to say I'm out of the woods better than ever and have my shit together. Things are picking up fast and I'm really enthusiastic about all this art coming up.

Just a quick update of my work days over the christmas period!

I will be at my parents from tomorrow (23rd) and returning home on the 27th. I'll return to work until the 30th, and then I will be away until the 2nd for New Years. This is the least amount of time away I could manage this year. Though I'm due some holiday like everyone else, I'm wary of being away too long while there's still a lot to do.
I've been a little busier this month due to starting househunting with my other half, and a few pieces took longer than I estimated, but I should have everything from the current queue (including the two patreon fanart pieces in progress) wrapped up by the 6th January. I'll be working on remaining sketches on the ipad while at home. Next year I am determined to stop having pieces roll over into the next month!

December 28th will be the next commission opening. It'll be your last chance to commission me at my current prices, as from the January opening things will be raising by £5-10 here or there, as my living costs have increased quite a bit.

Just some info for current commissioners and Patrons,

Moving into my new place this weekend, after having spent a few interim weeks at my parents'. After spending the last year and a half sharing a house with random lodgers, I'm super excited to be living in a nice apartment with a good friend and to have a proper home to live and work from. This should do wonders for productivity!

Won't have internet installed until Monday. I should be able to tether enough to check emails and upload art, however patience is appreciated while I get settled! Cheers :)

I've done the first bit of my move as of yesterday, which is back in with my parents for a few weeks. I've set up my old work area and am getting back into things slowly but surely, alongside having a major clearout of all my stuff. Next part of my move comes in 6 weeks or so when I move up to Aberdeen to rent with a pal, so there'll be another short upheaval! I'll be looking for houses with my boyfriend in that time and eventually moving there permanently. Stressful times right now but it'll be worth it in the long run!

Due to all this disruption I said I'd push commission opening back to the 19th, but considering Eurofurence is that weekend and how little time I've had to actually sit down and crack on with work this week, I will move it once again to Friday 25th August. None of my current clients deserve to be rushed and I want to get my queue completely cleared before taking on more work. I'm really fortunate to be in a position to catch my breath this month. Please watch this space for the commission heads up journal with the exact date and time as usual!

Hey guys,

Just a few things! Firstly, I'm moving next week (making base camp at my parents' for a few weeks, then onward to new flat with a friend in another city around September) so progress will be disrupted while I get packed up and get out to see local pals to say 'bye. Still working every day until about Monday so I'm getting stuff done in the meantime, but just a heads up.

Secondly, and mostly due to the move I'm pushing back commission opening until Saturday 19th August. I really want to try to clear the queue completely, tired of playing catch up every time I open so I'm gonna take advantage of being at home, change around my opening date and reduce that wait time. Hope that's ok! Gives you more time to save up I guess :B

Finally, just a reminder that I will not be at Eurofurence this year (boo). Sorry! Next con you can find me at will be Scotiacon in November, which I have just secured a table for. Next year I would like to hit up an overseas con again, but only if time and money allows. We'll see!

I'm currently working through the queue day to day, not much to really mention at the moment, things are going well.

I'll be away this weekend visiting my boyfriend, and 1st July- 8th July i'll be housesitting for my parents and clearing out my old room while I'm there. Will be bringing my iPad so I can still work on coloured sketches, icons and approval sketches for larger commissions, but colour and detail work on bigger pieces will halt until I'm back at my PC.

Taking this into consideration, I don't think I'll be accepting full illustrations next commission opening as I already have enough to be juggling with at the moment. Sorry for any disappointment! They need so much care and attention and I can't keep adding to the pile or I will lose my head, lol. I'll be ready to take on more in August.

Cel, flats, sketches etc will still be available. If you've already discussed an illustration commission with me from the last batch (all 2 of you!), that's still ok to go, don't worry. I should be opening on the evening of Sunday 9th July.
