He's captured Mr. Bramley rather well I think.
Due to a tummy bug I didn't get the previous Monday update out, but I'm working on getting two pages sorted out for Monday 11th May to make up for it. Lots of work, but hopefully worth it.
Updates... or not
Posted 16 years agoYou might be wondering what happened to the last update... well it turns out that February is insanely busy with a big comic project I have on so TBND has taken a bit of a back seat.
I intend to make an update for definite on Monday the 2nd of March and to resume the normal weekly update schedule from that point on.
I will also try to catch up the missed update pages so you may have a couple of weeks with more than one page but I make no promises on this score.
There will be another break in updates when I'm making the bonus print-only artwork for book 3 which will be a collaboration (a first for TBND) with a talented author I know. The bonus artwork delay is a while away down the line though, so you needn't worry too much about it just now.

Next update delayed
Posted 16 years agoDue to visiting a good friend this weekend (as long as the snow doesn't stop the train) and having to rely on public transport, I shan't be able to update TBND until TUESDAY 10th FEBRUARY which means it will be a day late.
I go out on the afternoon of Friday the 6th and return late evening Monday the 9th, leaving no time to sensibly put the update out on time.
Until then, you'll just have to imagine what the next page will be.

Monday soon
Posted 16 years agoAs long as I can replace the nib for my pen (I use dip-ink pens for inking, you see) we'll be on schedule, Monday's page is all drawn up and ready to go!
Really need to find a way of stopping myself from dropping my pens nib first on the floor... maybe some wrist staples...

2009 Update Schedule
Posted 16 years agoHello everyone that's Watching and reading, hope you had a fun festive period.
Got some important news regarding TBND3.
Updates are now planned to take place every MONDAY at some time during the day GMT. There will not be an update on Monday 5th of January since that's my first day back at work and I will not be able to produce a whole page in a day.
First page will be released on Monday 12th January 2009 and every Monday thereafter with the exception of Public Holidays, when I'll move the update to one side or the other of it.
Don't forget, TBND is available through Live Journal http://community.livejournal.com/tbndcomic/
It's also available at my website: http://www.stoneorchid.co.uk

TBND 3
Posted 17 years agoI'm still in the planning stages of TBND 3 and an idea occurs.
Of course, I will be continuing the storyline of Tom and Jack - and now Randy, since he's got involved somewhat as you'll know if you've bought book 2 - but I have two distinct directions I want to go in with TBND 3.
The first direction is the easy one wherein I follow the adventures and development of Jack and Tom's relationship.
The second direction is some history. Giselle and Tom have quite a bit of history and though many people seem unable to associate with Giselle - something of a surprise to me, actually - he is important to the story and why Tom is where he is now.
So my question is this: Would you rather see a plain continuation of Tom and Jack's story (with Randy too, as it happens) or Giselle and Tom's history or something else entirely?

So... what's up?
Posted 17 years agoYou're probably asking, "When is the next update due?" to which the answer is "Later".
The problem is, at the moment I'm a bit snowed under with other work and TBND is essentially on hiatus while I plan out the next stages of the story and get my paid work completed.
I have an adult-only comic due for completion by November which is running behind schedule and several commissions I've not even had chance to begin. However, once this is all out of the way I hope to be updating with a new page once a fortnight or once a week for your viewing pleasure.
In the meantime, any questions, suggestions or ideas are most welcome.

Posted 17 years agoFirst of all, I must warn you that if you have chosen to watch this journal be prepared for sporadic posting.
I'm currently uploading all 24 online pages of The Boy Next Door 1 and 2, a total of 48 pages.
This is in part so that my own gallery
angyl doesn't get swamped with the comic and in part to celebrate the release of The Boy Next Door, book 2 next weekend at the Mephit Furmeet.
If you have any questions at all, either direct them though this account or to the Live Journal community. All the information is on the front page.
