im thinking of having a few separate tiers for Iron Artist when I finish my examples.

- $75 for flats

- $100 for simple shading/cel shade

- $150 for full rendering

or should I add an option for simple animation like effects and blinking?

Does this feel reasonable to you guys?

I really thought I had my anxiety under control until recently but apparently I was very very wrong and it's even been hindering me heavily as an artist. I've never been able to animate without rotoscoping until I tried it after taking Valium. And I wonder just how much anxiety has held me back.

My art, while flawed, years ago used to be more energetic with stronger character acting. My comic pages were more fluid and impactful. And then it's like I've become too anxious over being perfect. I was too scared not to use pose models in personal art because I believed my art would be too bad and that I ultimately couldn't draw without them. Parts of my art did improve over time even with anxiety but I started struggling with experimenting and trying bolder colors or compositions. I tended to use lighting that I knew I could already pull off. I was starting to gain a following and I was terrified.

I was so scared to show bad work. I was really scared everyone would turn against me and claim I wasn't worth having a following. So I constantly tried to make everything perfect and relied on methods that were safe and familiar. That I knew would go over well. I lost the expressiveness I had.

And I didn't realize this until this last week when I was looking at one of my attempts of Tyree years ago. And I want to get all this back and I'm coming to realize that anxiety has absolutely destroyed me as an artist. It kept me from learning to animate, a medium that I was so passionate over.

All through my childhood and until college I wanted to be an animator. My undergrad thesis was on the history of American animation and the impact of the Hayes code and censorship. I changed my professor's view on asian animation and she started assigning it in her classes and film history course.

But I convinced myself that I could never be an animator because I struggled to visualize movement. And I didn't attempt it again until last year when I discovered I could rotoscope models in clip. And I just wonder what else this anxiety has held me back in. I'm sure it impacted my comics.

I'm devastated upon realizing how much I've been held back. That i could be a much better and even faster artist just by taking Valium. And I honestly am at a point that I have to convince my psychiatrist that I may need to take this often. I'm at an impasse now that I know I could be so much better.

I just have a lot to think about right now

Hey I might be quiet on the art front this week. I had a small event Saturday night that absolutely fried my brain and gave me severe anxiety and panic attacks that night and a chunk of Sunday. I am a little better today but im still in bad shape and it's affecting me physically. I need some time to recover a bit more. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better and I'll start to be able to get work done faster.

I want to make more animated ychs for fun. I'd love any suggestions!

Paypal tends to deadname you and a friend wants to keep their legal name hidden. Are there any recommendations for ways to take commission payments that keep your pen name instead?

Ive had a small breakthrough with my chronic illness that might significantly lessen flare ups and even give me a little more energy! Hopefully that'll make me a faster artist. I'll still have to rest often and can only work until 3-4pm on a good day but less flare ups mean less sick days!
