I'm sure you can tell from my account that I haven't been drawing very much for quite some time. I've been focusing on the new life I began creating last Halloween when my boyfriend of 4 years moved to live with me and for the first time in the 8 or 9 years of talking to each other over the internet on opposite sides of the country we suddenly see each other every day and every night.
It's obviously very awkward making such a huge change in a relationship but it's been over a year now and we're happier than ever. The pets are still annoying but things can't be perfect.. only awesome.
I've also been focusing on school since I'm finally not taking care of the entire house by myself. Bipolars who live alone are not the most well balanced students. Having Shawn here to take some of the burden off my back actually led to my having my first straight A's semester. We're all very happy about that and my lack of breakdowns.
Basically, what I'm saying is that I'm finally at a point where I find time to doodle and if I could just make a good place to focus and work I could get back into digital work. Mostly I have been sketching my character for the roleplay Shawn is going to GM.. she is a gnome tattooed sorceress named Wisp. I want to do a very detailed drawing of her and I will put a description with it when it's posted.

For those who don't know, my life changing majorly and I lot is going on. Before the end of October my boyfriend of 3 years and 3 months thus far and I will be making the move from the edge of Arizona to Tulsa, Oklahoma. I started looking around for rules on fanart and whether you can sell it or not and if the convention is more strict than other places but it just got into a jumbled mess. Has anyone already looked into this that knows the rules on it?

Since I'm currently working on becoming an illustrator for children's books I thought the best way to find out what to put into a portfolio is ask what people like. Keeping in mind the images more than words, since I'm only doing the artwork, what were your favorite books as a child? Or, if you have children what do they enjoy? Subject matter, colors, backgrounds... anything you think of.

Tomorrow I am having another test done to see if something is wrong with my wrists and hands and if so what it is. Until I know the results I really don't feel like posing an opinion one way or the other. I have a history of getting hurt accidentally. My parents told me I had been to the ER more times than they had put together a few years ago and now it seems I have been there twice as much as they have put together. The fact is I'm just accident prone and now my body is moving on to things beyond pure injury. So, in the past month I have had tests done on my hands, a massage that took 3 days to stop hurting, a trip to the ER for an unexplained severe pain in my gut but allowed them to find an infection, a twisted ankle from jumping off a swing incorrectly, one night of no sleep due to a fever/pain and pretty much all the other nights just nightmares, unable to fall asleep or unable to stay asleep. My darling boyfriend is probably going to die at the age of 45 just from the amount of worrying he goes through. Since this particular problem will be affecting my artwork I deemed it relevant enough to speak of on this site.

My Babble About Rabbit's:

I will repeat my advice on people who are considering buying and especially adopting a rabbit. The advice is after you have the idea, thought it over and decide to do it go back to the beginning and think it over again before you actually do anything. I love rabbits. I loved my first rabbit more than any living creature that came into my life and I love my dear bunny, Odd Thomas. But, Odd is always reminding me of the rule to owning a rabbit: "You don't train them, you work with them." Unlike a dog or even a cat you won't have a lot of success getting habits out of rabbits. They can be trained to do tricks but if they have a habit and you can't redirect it then they will keep that habit.
Odd came to me with an unknown past other than it was really really bad. The pet store assistant who helped me when I found him said all she knew was he was about a year old and this was his third time in a store and had two previous owners. He was separated from the other rabbits and no one really wanted to handle him. When I had him home he was scared to death of everything, his fur was a giant tangled mat that would later have to be cut off and worst of all he bit people.
Pixel (my first bunny) liked to dig. He dug until he was beyond the staples and the wood under carpet. Turns out the plastic covers for cat nails will fix that right up. Odd however chose chewing as his habit and you can't put plastic on a rabbits teeth. In my room alone he has chewed the bed, sheets, curtains, chair, all the cords, carpet, vacuum, books, paper, computer bag, book cases, cd cases and even the door and door frame. I don't really care because I've lived with a rabbit for so long that I know if a cord gets ruined you should have had it covered, if your books gets a few pages ripped out then it should have been on a shelf and my best story is even if you put your homework in your bag on a desk if a rabbit is determined he will get on a chair, pull down the bag, open it, pull out a binder, pull out your homework, eat the homework and your professor will not be understanding of that in class the next day.
So, before buying a rabbit no matter the age be prepared for destruction. No matter how careful you are things will be destroyed and sometimes it's just from accidentally thinking it was a toy or in the way and then sometimes rabbits are just evil little fuckers. But, we love them anyway. This entire babble is actually just out of concern for the amount of rabbits that end up back at a store, or dying from neglect or any number of things that occur when people get a cute bunny and find out it's not a puppy.

I don't think I've ever posted a journal on here with real meaning attached to it and I doubt many people I speak to on this site could imagine this is how I actually talk in person when you just sit down with me. I actually write like this a lot.. because I write merely trying to keep up with things I would say out loud. I don't want to call myself a poet, writer, philosopher or allow you to believe this is all meant to be impressive. I don't care if you comment. I just want to say something just once on this site that is me talking... not my fursona.

It seems a person really can measure themselves by the stars..
I don't mean the cliche of feeling small in comparison though that may be the first thought for most. I mean the way we take them and attach them to our own lives.. trying to find our own meaning.. Do you look for the constellations? Seeking the mythology, symbolism and cultural history that shaped beasts and hero's out of glimmers of light? ... Do you glare away the clouds looking only onward wanting more and more... to stare harder and harder grasping for every last star that you can focus in on? Or do you smile at those clouds.. smile at the belief that these stars are merely a blanket around this planet.. around your world and life that contain it in some way?
Perhaps you see it as a special and unique place so rare the universe is unneeded and religion does enough. You could see a single God molding it into this complex life force... you could see multiple gods dueling in the chaotic natures as passionate as our own mortal emotions.. you could merely assume there are beings in the flashes of light and cast off shadows that can't be measured or explained fully with science but give the world a sense of true magick. The stars are merely a top layer that pushes things down into their place. But, are you the soul who sees that layer as something to be broken? That has and is broken... Knowing this home is nothing more than material gravity forces together and that you are a tiny dot not even comparable to the smallest star your eyes can make out.

Do you wish you could stay forever... always seeing new ideas and philosophies as people have done for centuries or maybe it scares you every time you feel a little more shrunken and cast away in darkness?
If you've given any real time to them.. you've probably thought all of these things, even if you would rather focus on the few that give you hope or simple joy for nature. Every time you mark a constellation before a poetic moment you have to wonder if your brain is allowing you more or taking it away. Is mankind really doing more with technology and being able to explore, heal, grow and adapt to make us the most important creatures? Or would it be better if we had never evolved a brain that can even wonder such a question? Is your poetic experience with these tears of the galaxy the thing that keeps your heart beating? If so, would you give it up for the chance that the few stars that remain could be there for as long as the Earth can hold itself together? Are you that important? Are you alone? Are you part of something bigger?
It seems for every star that exists a single soul could ask even fewer questions if given a lifetime of night skies to witness. And in the words of the ever thoughtful father figure in a Disney classic: "Then I guess there's just one problem left..." "And what's that your majesty?"

1. What kind of movies do you like to watch?
I used to watch mostly romantic comedies but now romance makes me cry so I have slowly been introduced to action, especially comic book inspired movies. I love horror... for good horror I love psychological thrillers and for fun bad humor I don't think you can beat zombies. I watch it all though. I don't understand Kung Fu but my friend and previous roommate forced some respect and knowledge in the matter and now I own some. I also didn't think I liked Westerns but it's all my dad watches and can now name at least 2 I would own. I don't usually like new children's movies but there are exceptions.

2. Do you check movie reviews or websites to decide which movies to watch?
Nope. I browse Netflix and choose randomly, pick out stuff that I seem to remember the title of at Blockbuster and only go to theaters when dragged. If I really love a movie then I own it. I'm up to around 250 movies and who knows how many discs if you includes shows and trilogies etc.

3. How do you typically watch movies (IE DVD's, Websites, Theater)?
I usually own it or watch it on Netflix Instant via XBox but there are exceptions.

4. If you rent or buy movies, where do you usually get them?
Blockbuster does mega big sales on their DVD's so whenever I see something like "5 for $20" I flick through until I find 5 whether they're all amazing or not.

5. If you go to the movie theater, do you buy any snacks or sneak some of your own in?
I used to sneak sub sandwiches and sodas in to eat during a movie. It made everyone stuck eating old popcorn jealous but I do love movie popcorn and anything gummi. I adore the Coke Icee things.

6. At the theater, do you do anything else besides watch the movies?
Whisper commentary during commercials? I think I groped someone once and I know more than once I have stood up to tell a movie to get their stupid crying baby out of the fucking theater including the time I got a manager to escort her out.

7. How do you check the movie times?

8. Do you like to watch movie trailers or look at movie posters?
I watch the trailers on the website above because one can make it look great and another make it look stupid. There tend to be about 3 commercials per movie and if 2 out of 3 suck I don't go unless invited.

9. List some of the things you like or dislike about the movie theater.
Name something about a movie theater and I dislike it. It's sticky, gross, filled with people, uncomfortable, expensive and you can't enjoy the film. On the other hand I go anyway so there must be something good about it.

10. What kind of a seat do you like to get at the movie theater?
If I can see it and don't have to sit next to people I'm happy.

11. What was one of the best movies you've ever watched and why?
I will always put Classic Disney close to my heart in particular Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre Dam and The Lion King. The music, effort, colors and traditional animation quality are still beautiful. Also, Don Bluth's films such as The Land Before Time and Anastasia are beyond compare.

12. What was one of the worst movies you've ever watched and why?
Technically I have seen (and own) "Spice World" which was given the award for worst movie ever made. Sequels break my heart so The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning fucked up the characters. I know... Queen of the Damned. They shredded the books, destroyed the plot, horrible costumes, bad movie even if you didn't know the characters which is good since the characters didn't even even come close to looking like the descriptions.

13. If you could make a film of your own, what would it be like?
Probably a very dry humor or a very costly animation involving inbetweeners and a full on orchestra for the soundtrack. (If you haven't heard of Inbetweeners you should check them out. They're my favorite part of the credits.)

14. Any favorite kinds of actors/actresses?
Jack Nicholson has never failed to make a movie I didn't enjoy him in. I don't know actors names so this question is kind of useless for me.

15. Do you prefer to watch movies with other people or alone?
It depends on the movie and the people. A movie with one other person is my preference but alone or a small group are alright.

If I'm playing the tease I'm usually doing it on purpose and since I rarely do it on purpose I don't think so. When guys do hit on me I always need at least 48 hours to realize it might have been flirting.

7.Have you ever been awake for 48 hours straight?
I have indeed. Not lately though. It started getting harder around 17 or 18 for sure. Since college I've never done it on purpose. No one in college actually WANTS to avoid sleep.

8.Do you cry easily?
I cry a great deal usually. If I'm not crying a lot it usually means something's wrong. And by not crying I lot I mean going a week or more without crying like a baby. I once cried at a Hallmark commercial.

001. Real name? – On my birth certificate? Catherine. It's a pain having to spell it all the time.

002. Nickname(s)? – Everyone called my Catie until I started college. At that point I shed my old skin for something new. I cut all my hair off (short bangs but only about 3 inches in the back), moved to a different state to begin classes at an art institute and changed my name to Tea. Since then I have moved back and my hair is 2 feet long but I still introduce myself as Tea to new people. Anyone who has known me since before the name change is allowed the choice and some like my mom will switch between them.

005. Elementary? - Monte Casino. It's a private catholic school that pushes students way beyond the norm. Spanish, Computers, Gym, Music, Art, Math, Science, Geography, Theology and English were all required courses. By 3rd grade you would know every feature on power point, speak basic Spanish and by the time you hit middle school could read sheet music well enough for choir and playing the recorder.

006. Middle School? – I stayed at Monte Casino till the 7th grade. By then we had to type at a specific speed with the correct fingering and draw the world map from memory and label all countries, capitals and in the US all major lakes, rivers, states and state capitals. I switched to Wilson Middle School for the 8th grade after my bipolar hit and the school sent me to see a therapist. It was Hell on Earth but it taught me how to take care of myself.

007. High School? - Thomas A Edison Preparatory High School. It was a pain to write on the test forms that were sent outside of the school at the end of the year. I loved it... the only sport teams worth watching were women's softball, women's basketball and a sexy dance group called E-Unit that even a straight girl like me got turned on by. This meant the money went where it mattered: The band, Theatre and Computers. I became a drama nerd and by senior year could spend from 7 am till 9 pm at school mostly in the auditorium.
