PIMP MY STUDIO CONTEST BY NVIDIA
General | Posted 14 years agoTrouble Ticket #5 - WINDOWS ISSUE - OPEN
General | Posted 14 years agoSo
acorn is having some issues with her laptop running her processor at 100% all the time. Suggestions?
Why does it all pile up at once?
My laptop won't stop running processes at 100%. For no reason whatsoever. I'm on lyscander's laptop right now so I can get some work done.
I'm just so pissed and frustrated. I hate that freaking laptop. I can't wait to build my desktop :|

Trouble Ticket #4 - Windows and BIOS issue - OPEN

Our newest, and best-working desktop has really derped up...
I think we have a critical BIOS error...
When the system boots...
Diagnostic LEDs "3" & "4" are lit up,
system sounds 4 long beeps, pauses, and then 2 long ones; all at low frequencies.
No video output either.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7636405/sdv_0400.mp4
I remember reading in the Dell Dimension E310 User Manual that "3" & "4" has to do something with the BOIS...
Update: I read the PDF manual on another comp. It says "3" & "4" light up when there's an error with the RAM module(s).
I checked, and it wasn't it.
I knew this would happen eventually; especially with a Dell home consumer PC.
Half the time I'd rather use the old eMachines S2482, it seems to cooperate better [when it's not running Windows™]
I really hate Dell PCs

I'm thinking about upgrading several components in my system. I know the RAM can be upgraded to 2GB, and right now I have 1GB installed. Yet I was wondering if I can go any higher than that if I run the 64-bit version of the OS.
Also, I'm thinking of installing a secondary GPU, should I do that as well?

Alright, doing something new
General | Posted 14 years agoI'm just gonna upload trouble tickets in journals, as their is no point in compiling a huge list of techis when all you need to do is watch to see the trouble tickets. This will also probably motivate me to sign in more. I'll be leaving a sticky note on my desktop to remind me to sign in daily because I always forget this account exists. Blargh.
I apologize. I r bad admin.

Sora contacted me via Skype today with some issues she's having with her computer. This is what she told me is happening.
I'm doing a full scan with Norton, if nothing occurs, I'll try a different anti-stuff program. All browsers are crashing as well as their extensions, and the internet is connected however I cannot load any data on anything. Furthermore, the computer crashes constantly and refuses to come out of sleep mode at points. If an administrator box appears, it greys out and CTRL+ALT+DEL blackscreens, dis-allowing me from doing anything. The only way to resolve that is to do a hard restart by tapping the powerbutton, but if I manage to stop the hard restart which is difficult, the computer is still unresponsive. If it does restart, the computer is fine until the next freakout.
Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
HP Computer
Model: a6632f
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.4 GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB
64 bit operating system
Tablet PC Functionality available
