Posted a year agoAs you might have already noticed, my recent activity as an artist has significantly dropped due to a number of extremely important pre-release chores – Heralds of the Avirentes Ch. 1 Wings of Change will be released on Steam (Early Access) on May 30th. We’re currently head over heels applying finishing touches to the in-game content and doing our best to avoid any critical post-release issues with the game and/or its components. Thus, we would like to apologize for recent inactivity!

Russian invasion of Ukraine (2024)
Posted a year agoFebruary 24th two years ago was the beginning of the savage unprovoked aggression of Russia against Ukraine. At 4.30 a.m., the first enemy missiles, aimed at destroying the local military and civil infrastructure, landed not far away from our home. Only one kilometer away we saw the flames of multiple fires and heard the rattling sound of explosions. This day has set a distinct boundary in our lives forever, dividing them into “before” and “after”.
We will always remember this violent, treacherous, absolutely immoral act of so-called “brotherly love and friendship” performed by the country we considered our closest friend. All those died during this war will always live in our hearts and souls, for they are true heroes, the best sons, and daughters of our homeland. A lot of them were too young to die, their lives were just about to blossom, but they met their end instead…
The development team of the Heralds of the Avirentes categorically condemns and stands against the military aggression of the Kremlin dictator and his bloodthirsty army that keeps killing both Ukrainian military and civilians alike. The game could have already been released, but the years of war have significantly slowed down the development. However, we’ve managed to find the motivation to move further and do our best to finish, polish and release HotA as it was intended.

The game combines a visual novel, role-playing game elements, social simulator, a turn-based combat system.Thank you so much for your continuous support and interest in our project! You’ve been keeping the entire development process afloat: from the very concept of the future game up to the implementation of dozens of hours of solid gameplay and smooth involving story of Azaries and her adventures! The artillery shelling has gotten worse recently and fragments from artillery shells have damaged their house several times.

Posted 4 years agoIt's time to continue Azaries' journey through Nanraas! And although we originally conceived this update as “medium” in terms of content, its overall volume has exceeded even 0.23! New exciting features, dialogs, characters and enemies are waiting for you!

New features of Heralds of the Avirentes v0.25:
(New content) The first branching substory has been fully integrated into the game! Azaries is given a chance to help young om’verai Carho to solve one of the biggest problems of his life… or just leave it be. In this choice-based well-built substory you can truly challenge your speaking skills and artistic performance. Have you ever tried to play someone’s role without knowing the context? This touching story features great number of plot-changing choices as well as possibility to fully exploit benefits of Azaries’ current class. Thus, you can screw Cahro’s attempts to get a job and finally organize a family reunion by playing a “bad girl” or get the best heartwarming ending that would definitely make everyone happy – everything is up to you!
(New content) The long-awaited continuation of the main story! New enemies, friends and NPCs are waiting for Azaries and her party mates on the new global map subregions – some of them will bring new stunning dialogs and quests, but the other ones are filled with bloodthirsty and ready-to-kill any intruder foes!
(New content) A new story branch with unique events, characters and features has been added for one of the Azaries’ classes. Try to guess, which class is it?
(New content) If your character previously romanced Ahros, you will encounter new exclusive childhood references, events and flashbacks about this love story, which differ from class to class!
(New content) Now Azaries’ personality backed by a newly-designed more flexible traits system, which allows to more comprehensively adjust MC’s worldview and reaction to certain events in accordance to your playstyle and RP model. Don’t worry! You can still use old save files, for the system will allow you to reset and readjust points (once readjusted, Azaries’ traits can’t be reconfigured in the new saves, unless the corresponding feature is implemented in the game mechanics)
New enemies may look odd, weird or even charming, but their bloodlust and combat efficiency might be unmatched, so beware, young om’veri!
Balance changes:
Thank you very much for you feedback on Discord! We’ve been analyzing all your game-based pieces of advice and gameplay experience, therefore we’d like to announce a number of balance-related changes in this update:
Mannicalu: Poison damage has been increased, but the chance of being poisoned has been decreased.
Ralvia: +250 additional HP. The “Psio-Storm” skill damage has been reduced.
Nrikits: Damage from normal attacks has been increased, the enemy's vulnerability to attacks by the forces of nature has been increased.
Golem: Fatigue deals less damage to this monster.
Items: “Heallin” is more expensive now, but it restores more HP. Yet, don’t forget not to use it too often, or else…
Items: Taintenga now works correctly. Having taken this remedy during the battle, Azaries and her companions can no longer be poisoned during the battle, and the already active poison ceases to have its effect.
Effects: The influence of the level is now more tangible. If your characters are far behind in level from the enemy, the battle difficulty will increase correspondingly, thus making some enemies very hard to defeat. However, the reward will be proportionately higher!
Interface: New font is now used in the game. The total level of text perception should be improved greatly.
Note: On PCs with low screen resolutions (1366x768 or less) there is sometimes a slight misalignment of text on screens. We are aware of this issue, and it will be addressed in the next update.
Recommendation: avoid using screens with resolution lower than 720p, for it may cause cosmetic or even game-breaking issues, such as disappearance of buttons, sprites or “out-of-screen” text transposition.
Interface: Damage received or dealt during attacks is now displayed. This will make the combat system more transparent and understandable.
Interface: small interface functional and cosmetic tweaks and fixes.
Interface: Now, when you click on the ability button, a small hint appears on its action and requirements for inspiration.
Interface: Ledshell has been added – an important communication device for Azaries. Currently it includes the functions of receiving mail, reading news, and making calls to some of the predefined contacts.

Changes regarding social component:
(Azaries’ friends) The maximum number of affection points that can be obtained from the quest "An experienced tourist" has been reduced.
Note: As you may have noticed, previously too many affection points were awarded for successfully completing a loyalty mission, which is logically incorrect and inconsistent. Firstly, Azaries and Gherstie are still strangers to each other, and secondly, the pink om'verai has a very complicated temper as well as easy-to-hurt nature (by the way, now you have the opportunity to find out why). Do not worry! The changes did not make Gherstie an impenetrable grumbler. You just need to look for better combinations of answers.
Technical changes and improvements:
(Localization) Russian localization has been greatly improved! If typos, missing commas and incorrect use of some lexical units always make you furious – that’s a notable change that would recreate cozy and pleasant environment of the om’veri world. The game becomes large and complex, and we can no longer afford such annoying missteps. Many changes still need to be made, so we’re working hard to polish our game!
(Visuals) Some backgrounds form previous updates have been improved and/or redrawn.
(Visuals) Missing animations have been added to some skills and abilities from previous updates.
We must say that the fun is just beginning! It's time to reveal more story cards and a few secrets of both the Azaries’ family and Nanraas in general! Let's do it together!

Heralds of the Avirentes 0.20 Second Update is now availa...
Posted 5 years agoHi everyone! First of all, we would like to thank our dear patrons for their continuous support and active participation in the development process! Thank you very much! You’re making it possible!
Finally, a major update Heralds of the Avirentes (0.20) is live! This version of the game is available to anyone, so feel free to try it! We've done a great job developing this update, bringing in a ton of new content, so we hope you enjoy the adventures of Azaries the om’verai and continuation of her story!
This fabulous update includes the following features/fixes/tweaks and new mechanics:
- The main quest has been updated and now it features class-based differences and unique mechanics. Azaries has to prove her class mentors (Master Nandaar for the Sarantales Knights, Lady Anelle for the Aegis Scholars and An’tran for the Nentals) that she is ready for the journey and is capable of taking care of her possible foes, as well as assisting the allies.
- Gherstie’s loyalty side mission, featuring multiple branching dialogs, options and possible outcomes. Will you make her excursion around High Circles pleasant or…. Terrible?
- Ahros’ side mission: finally, you can visit Azaries’ old childhood friend (or love interest) and ask him to accompany her on the journey. Multiple branching dialog options will let you choose your manner of speaking with him, as well as finding out more about this mysterious lady-killer.
- Few side missions with several possible outcomes each. Depending on Azaries’ class and player’s choice quest rewards and the ways of obtaining them may vary, bringing a spicy taste of freedom of choice and the consequences afterwards.
- Infrastructure of High Circles is now live! Azaries can visit shops, merchants, Lunarium and some other places of interest.
- Multiple points of interest can tell the player more about the lore of this mysterious world, as well as give some important hints and pieces of advice what to do next.
- The first day before the journey can now be completed (“Let’s call it a day” option). Have you met Gherstie in the town? Have you visited The Great Tree? What’s about your reputation? Did you manage to max it out? (500 points). Try different options!
- Unique events and ways of dealing with other characters depending on your class and perks.
- Improved visuals, UI tweaks, new layouts and remastered art.
We’ve listed only the main features of the new update. The game contains many secrets and multiple pop-culture references. If the First Update could still raise doubts in someone about our intentions and the future of the game, then the release of the Second Update should answer your questions. The game has already acquired its frame, and in the future there will be even more of the main story and cool events! And most importantly, there will be more and more content for everyone!
