A new beginning (Saying goodbye to the Husky)
Posted 13 years agoSo I've made several hints yesterday via twitter and through a couple drawings. I will officially be saying goodbye to Ten as my fursona/representation/character, what have you. There's a big long explanation ahead, but a TL;DR Ten isn't who I imagine myself anymore. I've decided to re-invent myself. But we'll get to that in a moment.
First I wanna explain how I feel about characters and the ever so important "Fursona". I've had many characters and still do that I like to play with, a german shepherd named Jericho, a gator named Bordeaux, the list goes on. Characters are just that, fictional beings that I insert small little bits of my personality into and sometimes they have nothing to do with my personality and represent a polar opposite. The 'Fursona' is different however. To me, The fursona is ME. it's an avatar in this imaginary world that is the physical embodiment of everything I am on the inside, and to an extent on the outside. My fursona is the character that I actually have protection over and have a bit of boundries with. I'm not comfortable with people using my fursona however they want whereas if someone wants to draw one of my other characters in whatever situation they're interested in, I'm pretty down for it. people can also commission me (maybe even others!) of my characters with no hastle. My fursona is not as easy to get into the pants of! haha.
That leads us to Ten. I created Ten when I was fourteen years old, that being nearly ten years ago now. When I created Ten, I was a chubby li'l kid with particular ambitions, and a self image that was very low. I hated how I looked. I created the rail thin husky dog with wings on his back and a stylish sweeping hair do. He was the embodiment of what (at the time) I wanted to be. confident, good looking in my opinion at the time, and care free. Fast forward a couple years, and I actually became that. I lost a LOT of weight, took a medication that got rid of my acne, got better clothes, and fashioned my hair on the daily. I became what I had wanted. Ten and me were officially a singular unit. As the years progressed, I made small subtle changes to him, ranging from adding a marking here and there, adjusting his piercings to match my own, changing his color, and any other a small details throughout the days.
At some point though, I started to feel a disconnect with Ten. I started to realize he wasn't really fitting with me any more. My interest in guys, as well as what I wanted to look like was starting to change. I was growing up on a mental level that Ten couldn't keep up with as an avatar for myself. I tried to manage this with changing Ten in more drastic ways. I made him look older, I added the facial hair I started to fashion on myself, several other changes until the point where Ten became rather amorphous. He had so many different 'forms' so to say that no one knew exactly which one was the proper Ten, and to a point neither did I, cause in my mind, no matter how much I tried to make Ten LIKE ME, he was always that short little skinny husky dog.
So after quite a while of dealing with the thoughts of this, after trying to see if I could make Ten me, I've decided to make the decision that's been coming for a long time and say goodbye to him. I will no longer represent myself as Ten.
what does this mean? Well, it means that I've made a new fursona for myself, one that represents who I am a lot better.
What does this mean for All you out there? Well, I have a new FA account, found here http://www.furaffinity.net/user/Bass . I'm doing a full switch, Name character and all. I want to have a fresh start and start living the life as the person I want to be.
I won't be dropping any commissions or changing my art style or anything silly like that. I also won't be PURGING this gallery or anything, just not uploading to it anymore. If you want to continue to view my art, simply follow http://www.furaffinity.net/user/Bass .
I will also still be using "Ten Husky Productions" as my ... company name so to say. meaning, that will still be the watermark/signiture on my art (until decided otherwise) and Ten will still be the mascot for that system. I've also made a new AIM and will be changing a couple other things, and letting the people who need to know, know when those things happen.

Tablet & Bills fund (Traditional Commissions and Donations)

As you may be aware, I'm currently having some difficulties with my Tablet (more information here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4116666/) and my ability to produce work for you, as well as keep myself funded.
So I'm going to handle it on two fronts.
First and foremost, I will be taking Five traditional commissions With a tweest
Do note that if you get one of these commissions and help me with the situation at hand, I am forever in your debt. It really does mean a lot to me that I have wonderful people such as yourselves to help me in a time like this when I'm genuinely in need of help. I don't often post my nonsense on FA cause I really don't feel like it's the appropriate place, but my tablet dying yesterday really showed me that you guys are an important part of my life. you sustain me, you help me pay my bills, you help me when I really need it most. I really do love all you wonderful people, and can only hope to continue working with you.
The commissions will be available at 3 levels.
30$ (+20$ per additional character) - A traditional Sketch on handmade paper, nicely textured, every page unique, nice off white tone reminiscent of more aged paper.
50$ (+30$ per additional character) - Same as above except inked with Prismacolor fine to broad tip ink pens and/or my sepia felt tips.
100$ (+50$ per additional character) - Receive the above AND, whenever I do finally have my tablet, I will import the image into SAI/Photoshop CS5 and work the picture into a full piece.
No matter which of the above options you pick, you will recieve the original via mail, shipping & handling included in price (unless you live outside the country, additional fees may apply.)
for these, I will be requesting Payment up front. I don't usually do this, but this is kind of a 'dire' situation for me. I have bills that need to be paid and need a new tool to put myself BACK into working condition.
If you would like one of these commissions, simply say so down below in the comments section and we will work the details out further. I'm gonna make these initial five first come first serve, and I thank you whoever you are for helping.

Suddenly: Tablet problems
Posted 13 years agoSO I was streaming today and My tablet decided "welp, fuck that, I'm just gonna stop working" and my stylus would no longer register on my tablet surface.
I was like "oh silly drivers, quit being a cunt, I'm trying to stream" so I re-installed them, seeing as that was my initial thought for the problem. Upon successful re-instillation My tablet would STILL not recognize the stylus. Started to get worried here.
SO I moved to the laptop that I know my tablet works on, plugged the ol' girl in, and still no recognition.
SO I can only assume that either my stylus, or my tablet itself is Out of Action. To replace the stylus would be the easiest solution, but I don't know where I could get one in any amount of speedy time. AND it's also 100+ dollars for a stylus that frankly, I just don't have atm.
THEN there's the possibility that it's the tablet itself. Which if that's the case is making me sweat bullets. Because that's a brand new investment all on it's own. One I simply can not afford.
in the end, Fuck. This happened at really the most inopportune time ever.

Final Fantasy Job commissions (Reservations Closed!)

I'm going to be taking commissions in a new sort of way! THEMES and my first theme is very much inspired by the pic I did for the lovely tiberiusrings <3 it can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9097279/
the theme is Final Fantasy Jobs (which are also Bravely Default jobs). I will only draw ONE OF EACH JOB. so if someone already lays claim to the paladin spot, then I'm sorry :C but they get it first~
The Job commissions will be 75 dollars each, payment upon completion of the line-art~ Whenever it gets to your turn then I will contact you and you'll let me know what general outfit style you want (such as Bravely default: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/.....:_Flying_Fairy or Final Fantasy Tactics: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/.....y_Tactics_Jobs ). I will then draw your character as the class type, with a unique outfit based off the one you share~ It will still be largely custom designed by me, but you do have some input (like if you would like half moons implemented into the design such as our cutie tibs up there)

Cancelling the queue
Posted 13 years agoI'm officially ending the 'commission queue' way of doing things.
I won't be taking any more commissions via queue any longer. it's just not working out how I planned.
I'll be possibly taking some commissions later down the road, but the burden the queue has on my mind is unwanted. It was an experiment to see if I could handle it and well, I have the results.
I'll still be doing DFDs, and may even take the random odd commission on a journal to journal basis (possibly with specific themes) but I just can't handle potential workloads on a mental level. It stresses me out and feels like I'm behind on some non-existant schedule. I know you're all patient, and lovely people who will tell me "no no, take your time really it's okay" and I really do appreciate it, but it's not about that.
I'm sorry if this is upsetting, but don't think you've lost out at your only chance to get art from me.
Like I said, there will be future spots for commissions on a journal to journal (slot based) basis. I really do look forward to working with people more, I just need a more stress free way of doing it.

"Comfort Zones" ~ New Comic Project
Posted 13 years agoSo I've gotten this wild hair to make my own comic (seeing as I may have a new job that pays well and I won't have to focus all my art on sustaining my livelihood)
The comic's called Comfort Zones and it'll feature the lives of two characters dating, loving, and surpassing troubles along the ways of changing one's life when accepting another into it.
I'm still writing it and what not and I'll post some WIP type stuff as I go.
There's already concept art for the two Main characters Sam and Korban
I'm thinking about doing pre-orders for the comic, offering a slightly reduced price as well as pre-order DLC (Dick licking corgis lol, thanks for that one
horrorshow ) and other pre-order bonuses.
If the comic takes off well enough I'll do a sequal and continue their story further and further until well, ya know, it's a series or something.
anyhow, just wanted to share my thoughts as of late so yah, look forward to that in the near-ish future!

The best thing for any new art site is a strong community, so I think all you should go to weasyl when it launches as well and atleast give it a shot! if you like what you see, tell your friends, and tell them to tell their friends, and so on!

like, have a queue for each type of commission, and when it's your turn I note/email you (this would be done on a first come first serve basis) ?

Taking 3 Commissions! (kinda sorta a raffle sorta style)
Posted 13 years ago I'm gonna open up to take 3 commissions. basic price quotes can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7476639/ But, those prices are apt to change depending on what you want. For example, you might want a chibi commission or something, or maybe you want colors but not line-art (like what I do in DFDs?) who knows! we'll discuss final pricing once we've settled on what you want.
Now I'm in a dillemna as well, cause i only have time to work on 3 commissions really, I can't take a big chunk of commissions because it's a work overload that I don't enjoy. Now how do I choose which 3 to take? WELL, I'll probably use a random number Generator.

Firstly I'm gonna have tiers of how much you donate vs what you get!
the tiers are as follows:
5-20$ - a super quick sketch. please don't expect anything wonderful, but I will do a quick goofy doodle of your character! (obvi the 20 dollar people would get a bit more work)

21-40$ - alright, here you'll get a much better worked sketch! refining lines, getting rid of 'sketch kibble' etc :3 itll look better, i promise.

Since I'm taking donations for a plethora of reasons (you know, bills, food, and needing to upgrade my computer as well as have money to help make a friend's visit as enjoyable as possible!) I will be taking a cue from one of my most awesomest friends on how they do their streams.
if you want a DFD, post exactly what it is you want in the stream chat (I want my character holding swords being a badass in this pose bla bla bla). also note which of the teirs above you would like. I will simply pick the idea that appeals to me most. I'm able to put out a more superior product when I'm like "fuck yah that sounds fun let's do it"
NOTE: DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I TELL YOU TO. ANY PAYMENTS SENT BEFORE I SPECIFICALLY TELL YOU TO SEND THEM WILL BE TAKEN AS GENEROUS DONATIONS WITHOUT EXPECTATION TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM ME. THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING.
