So.. I'm not sure when I'll actually raise my prices, but it's definitely something I have to consider now. I'm filing applications to try getting my own place and get some housing assistance, but while doing so I realized when it comes down to it, I'm only making $3 an hour with my art.

I'm hesitant to raise prices cuz I don't wanna scare off potential clients, but I know I'm gonna need to if I hope to afford living on my own in the near future.

So- with me cracking down on whats left of my queue before FWA, I dont think I'll have enough time to get a pair of handpaws done for my fursuit :(

Basically, I'm currently getting therapy and medication for my depression and PTSD, but the clinic needs a new state ID from me within 30 days. Time is already too close for comfort, seeing as my last chance to get it in is this Thursday, otherwise they'll just cut me off. I already got all the paperwork, I just need $32 to buy the state ID.

so. not many people know this; but ive been trying to get ssi for several years now. i was born with cerebral palsy and never got it properly taken care of as a child because my family was a piece of shit.

the only job ive had is baskin robins, and after a week of struggling, they sliced my hours to a measely 4 hours a week. on min wage. i had lost my apartment because of that. i tried to file, and got denied. i was stupid, didnt file for an appeal, didnt get a lawyer.

last year, i tried again. i filed. someone on their end was nice enough to find old medical records of mine. i went to so many appointments. both physical and mental. i told my story that it took me more than 6 months to get that job, and then they sliced my hours to 4 hours a week because of my disability.

......and they denied me. again.

they basically told me that even though i have cerebral palsy and can barely stand for a full hour, despite the fact that i suffer from depression and untreated ptsd since childhood, i can still work. i just need to find "less stressful" work. i dont know what they're even talking about at this point. i live in a tiny ass town, the only jobd available are retail and fast food.

im. im at wits end. im struggling to even pay a third of the bills by selling artwork. i cant afford medicine or therapy. i cant afford a doctors appointment. i cant get a car. i cant even buy a new photo id right now. i dont even know what steps to go from here, or what lawyer to talk to.

commissions will most likely be at a standstill while i try to recover from this. im sorry.

However, I'm worried I priced it a bit too high..? I priced it a bit higher than I usually would because the electric bill is DOUBLE than what it usually is because my damn roommates are running the heaters 24/7. [have they not heard of bundling up da fuq?]

If there's no bids at all by the deadline, then I'll try again with a lower starting bid and auto buy.. but I would really like to AT LEAST sell each slot at starting bid for a total of $100. ;;

So, last journal I mused about changing up my commissions and T.O.S.

Changes are indeed happening. So, I'll more than likely have new prices and T.O.S posted by Feb 1st, so keep a look out on that.

Changes are more than likely:
-Headshots will be either dropped completely or be changed into digital badges that customers can use the artwork to make physical badges for themselves in the future.
-I will be doing chibi commissions for $10. Examples coming soon, will only be doing them in weekly streams [day to be determined]
-My monthly turn-around rate will be dropped so I don't stress myself getting extremely complex pieces done.
-There may be price changes; not sure yet.
-Commission limit will be increased from 10 to 15.

What won't be changed:
-Pay-first-in-full policy.
-No refunds policy.
-Simple commissions will be done before complex.

I will also be updating my FA page a bit in order to help getting these updates aswell and pushing my Ko-Fi a lot more.

I'm currently debating on what to do with my current T.O.S/Commission flow. I do state I do them on a monthly basis, but I'm worried that since I'm now offering ref sheets and transformation sequences, I may not be able to do 10 commissions a month like I usually do. I may take out the whole "commission turn-around is a month!~" and just- do commissions as they come and go so I don't stress myself out so bad X-X; Still gonna take a limit so I don't get TOO overwhelmed, but instead of 10 I'll probably increase it to 15?

Also, I currently try to sketch all commissions before working on them one at a time to completion, but I might change that to and instead take them one at a time, start to finish. I'd still probably work on easier commissions like sketches and flats first.. I dunno.

I'm still going to try and finish the queue I have for this month though! I know my current customers paid for commissions by me because I promised to get them completed in a month, though Namosaga understands a couple of hers may have to be completed in February since she bought a bunch of bigger ones xD;

Might also bring back some sort of chibi.. but I miiight change or dump headshots. Not sure yet. I just know I put too much work into the damn headshots. DX

I don't know, I'm currently just musing at the moment? I'll have a definite decision at the end of this month though and, if needed, change my T.O.S. before February hits. If I don't decide to change it though, then I'll just make a quick journal saying so, lmao.

So, lately my commissions have picked up by a LOT which is awesome, and I've been able to put back a little bit of money. I'm starting to think about getting my very first fursuit head but I've been debating on who to go to?

I'm not looking for ULTRA TOP-NOTCH 1000/10 STAR QUALITY!!11`1! fursuit heads that cost $1000 just for a friggin head; I'm looking around between $300-$500 price range, toony style, and does follow-me eyes. Been eyeballing two makers currently, but I'm just wondering if theres other options?

Also would appreciate actual customer feedback from recommendations! If you have bought a fursuit from the person your recommending, how was the fursuit? What was communication like? Turnaround time? Any issues after receiving the fursuit?

Heyo, I'm just trying to get some plans together for 2018. I guess you can also say I'm making New Years Resolutions super early? Haha.

*Work on artwork. Everyone tells me how "ANIMU~!!" it is and they don't mean it in a good way, so I'm gonna aim for a different approach with my art. Mostly gonna try making it more cartoon-y than anything but we shall see.
*Work on artwork 2. I'm unhappy with my lines and my hands still, so I will be trying to improve on those also.
*MORE FURRIES. I draw so many humans it's not even funny, so I'm gonna try drawing my fursona and Ozzy a lot more instead of my normal troll-sona and human characters. I'll still do human commissions though.
*Commission changes. I will no longer be accepting the Derpie Chibis. They were fun for the past year but now I kinda don't like them anymore, so perhaps in the future I will be offering normal chibis instead.
*Commission changes 2. Some things are getting a price raise. I'm happy with what I am asking for flats and shaded so that won't be an issue, but I realized I'm undercharging for sketches and headshots, so they will be raised by $5.
*Patreon 2018? I made a Patreon literally right before they pulled that stupid fee bullshit on us, and I deleted it thinking because of that, I no longer stood a change with Patreon. However, the internet made them pull a "jk lol", so now I might make a new Patreon... for now though, I'm just gonna use Ko-Fi.
*Redbubble 2018??? I've been toying with the idea of having a Redbubble for a while now. I like the idea of making stickers and prints, so we shall see. Just gotta figure out what fanart stuff I can put up without companies coming after me, lol. [One idea was sexuality-ponies, like Pansexual Pinkie or Bisexual Twilight. Will Hasbro kick my ass tho?]

So yea, let's just see where life takes me next. Hopefully I hit a lot of these points in 2018.

Question; My roommate's mom just got a new bed and doesnt need her eggshell foam pad thing for it anymore since the new bed is a pillow top and all... are the eggshell foam pads good for fursuiting? And if so... is it even possible to sell this thing to someone who needs the parts since its technically used [its clean as can be though!] or am I better off just using it for my own fursuit head :S

My new laptop has arrived!!! It's so fast and speedy and doesn't lag at all when I draw; I'll be able to do commissions more quickly now!

I'm considering doing YouTube and speedpaints in the future. Maybe even video game lets plays? I'll have to toy around and see how well my laptop does under video game play and if I can use my headset microphone.

FangCon was incredible. I've never felt more welcomed before to a con in my life. Everyone was so friendly!! People would actually stop and talk to you instead of just not care/look at you funny if you said 'hi'.

TBH it almost felt like I got welcomed by a family I never knew I had and I think after this, I'm definitely part of the Furry community.

I'm gonna be working on the rest of my October commissions and start working on pictures of my new fursona. :D
