Hello everyone! Happy 2016! I rarely ever post journals, so I figured I should at least update all of you with my boring life!

2015 was an interesting year. That's not to say it was a bad year, for me. In fact, it was a vast improvement over the year prior! This year, my mom was able to land a steady job, thus lifting any concerns of the two of us keeping a roof over our heads.
At the beginning of last year, I chose to return to college and resume my academic studies. It was a challenging school year, but I managed to come through on top (and not a C in sight)!
Just last month, I made the decision to go down to Los Angeles on my own to visit family, and to have dinner with my dear friend . This was the first time I spent my own money to go on a trip. It also renewed my eagerness to leave home and live on my own, as I feel I'm long overdue for it.
But I digress! All in all, I'm happy where my life has brought me. I'm happy to be back in school. I'm happy to have the job that I do, and I'm EXCEEDINGLY happy to be graced with the friends I've made not just in this previous year, but in all the years prior. And yes, I'm referring to you guys! Thank you for befriending a silly old coot like me!

So, here's to 2016! Here's hoping it's a fruitful one! ^_^

The surgery went really well, according to my doctor. Now the waiting game begins.

Woo! My favorite holiday! Oddly enough, I'm going to be spending it in an operating room.

To those who don't already know: about five months or so ago I was diagnosed with kidney stones. One of them is far too large to pass on its own so I'm getting a shockwave treatment done in order to take care of the nasty thing.

Everyone I've already talked to about it has shown me nothing but support and that's really been helping me overcome my anxiety about the whole situation. Thanks you guys!

So yeah. I'll be sure to give an update to this update when the procedure's done tomorrow.

I don't trust them anymore.

One word: amazing. A day later from attending the con and I'm still on a high that I haven't experienced in a long time. This was my first time attending a furry convention, let alone a convention of any kind, and I was blown away. It's like the need to be social and outgoing was rekindled in myself, most likely triggered by meeting new furs and reuniting with old ones. I suppose I could ramble on about what an amazing experience this was, for me, but I shouldn't bore any of you who read this with repetitiveness on my part.

I wish I could remember the names of everyone I either met for the first time or was introduced to by my fellow fur friends; to those of whom I had the honor of sharing company with: it was a real pleasure getting to know you.

To the names of people I do remember hanging out with: , , , , , and . It was a real treat, nay, a blast, to spend time with you all!

Finances and spare time permitting, I intend to attend FC next year; San Jose is a pretty rockin' place of a town that I hardly ever get to visit otherwise.

Also, I've been inspired to start considering saving up for a legit fursuit. Being around so many fursuiters yesterday was motivation enough.

One day was absolutely not enough, though I started the day off to a bad start with hardly any sleep from the night prior. The adrenaline rush of attending the con and being in good company kept me going throughout the day. All the more reason why I plan to experience the full con next year.

Every fiber in my being wanted me to turn back, when I left FC last night. There was a great heaviness in my heart, as I knew there might be when the day would come to an end. But if something could make me feel that passionate then I see it as a sign of good things to come in the future. I know this will sound over the top, but FC has made me want to be a better person.
