Okay so, I commissioned this artist on DA 14 months ago, and they have not even produced a starting sketch for me. I figure patiently waiting with my name on the list wasn't much to ask for, but 10 months pass and I have moved up a single spot on the to-do list. Meanwhile the artist is doing a lot of gift sketches and adoptables. I just feel like if you have time to make adoptables, you should have time to work on the commissions people paid for up front, yah know? Now at a full year I decided to message the artist politely asking about progress. (They had a thing about not messaging them which is why I didn't sooner) But here is the kicker: I go to their page and their entire to-do list is now empty and they have 'slots open for commissions again'. I ask them and they say that I am still on the list, and they feel more inspired now which is why they opened more slots. Well its been another 2 months and I was considering asking for a refund, but now they have an official terms of service that "applies to all previous commission" and part of it is that they won't do refunds????

So I have no idea what to do. I think waiting over a year with no progress while the artist is simultaneously taking money from more people isn't right. I could be wrong though? I just don't know what to do now? Do I ask for my money back anyway? Do I even have any power in this situation?

This has not been a good first time commissioning experience. :(

I was told by my councilor that I need to start drawing again. SO I guess I am going to make an effort to do that now.

FA looks better than last time I checked so I guess that is cool.

I am gonna try and have something new uploaded tonight.

So, What's up?

My tablet is 100% fixed. I had been having issues with it for almost 2 years. It made trying to draw with it very frustrating because it would cut out after a couple minutes and it's pressure sensitivity seemed to not be working. In January, I managed to solve the driver issue (it was actually a driver for my wireless mouse interfering) but this weekend I got the cutting out problem fixed! Apparently the cable connecting my tablet was faulty! My friend who works in the tech department at my school was able to identify the problem and get me a replacement cable for super cheap! This is just really exciting to me! I will be spending a ton of time drawing again! I won't necessarily be finishing pieces (x_x) but my skills will stop getting rusty!

Well i have moved back to school, so that turbulence in my schedule has settled. I planned on writing a new journal sooner about how all the ych stuff was complete, but ironically in the mean time 2 more slots were requested so im back to where i was x-x

I plan on posting more journals so i can maintain a presence here.

I only have 2 left of the YCH to make!!! Wow this has been a lot o: but it has been good for getting me back into the habit of drawing again which I am really happy about.

I'm continuing to make progress through these! But I want to say that imo Weasyl is bunches better than FA. It has lots of nifty features that I never new I wanted. They have a characters tab in addition to your gallery, favourites, and collection!!! Oh yah collections, those are hella rad. The artist (person A) can offer a piece to person B's collection (a person whose character is featured, or comissioned, etc) and by doing this, person B doesn't have to upload the submission and all of person B's watchers get to see the Person A's original submission. Weasyl still has things it needs to fix, but I feel that it is already loads better than FA (I'm over there as PartiallySpooky if you didn't already know)

First off, I am flexible with pricing. First, tell me which style you want and what of and I will determine a price in the listed range that I think is appropriate for the difficulty of the image. However, I am willing to negotiate a different price from there. Prices can also be reduced if you don’t want shading or color.

Style #2
A style using very thin lines or no lines at all. Less cartoon-y looking and possible for lots of detail to be added. Complexity of image and amount of desired detail will determine starting price. This style requires the most work which is why it has the highest prices, that also means that it will take the most time.

Style #3
Line art is made with pencil and paper, then is scanned to be colored digitally. This gives the line art more interesting look because you can see the texture of the paper and pencil. This style is really good for anything glowy or with interesting light going on. Because the lineart is done with a pencil, it takes less time and this type of commission can be completed faster.

SO the art that I have been doing recently has been pixel art! It is something I've always had an interest in but I've only recently really started doing it o: I'm hoping to work on a couple games with my programmer friend in the near future ^u^ I started out with furniture because there was a lot of squareness which was an easier start. I'll be uploading some of it today! I also practiced making tiles by making wallpaper c: I've started working on organics now (namely characters, but I want to draw plants (I have a mighty need))

So its been an entire year since Ive been one? I cant believe that much time has passed. My tablet has literally collected dust ;~; Freshman year at college was awesome but crazy busy. I started working part time on campus and became the exec of a club! and thats the short version of what all Ive been up to.

So much can change in a year, I wonder if the people I'm used to talking to even still get on FA?

I've been on Fa for roughly a year and a half but have I ever actually said anything much about my fursona?
