Well, that was an ordeal, but we're back!

Not gonna lie, I got a little scared here, for various reasons. It turned out okay in the end, but what if it hadn't?

This kinda made me realize that for all its quirks and foibles, I'd really miss this website.
I owe a lot to it! Not for my growth as an artist (or lack thereof) but my growth as a furry.
Lots of real good friends I've met here. Some came and went, some are still going strong, some became lifelong friends.

I'm gonna ride this website until it goes for real.

Adoptables:

Usually they're cool, flashy, visually engaging, overtly characterized characters. Designed to make you go "wow, cool furry" at a glance, and be easily recognizable to whatever niche they're appealing to.

However, it's ironic, because as soon as they're bought out, they instantly lose any appeal they might have to me: the illusion that they have agency.
Once I own them, I call the shots, and it stops being interesting because I can't see the character grow. I have to make them grow. It's on me and I can see everything coming because I come up with it.

It's like being a fan of the muppets and buying the one kermit puppet. Now there's no more kermit, he's in your living room.

It's been a productive time for me, which means dopamine! And there's also lots of holidays and vacation time this time of year, which means serotonin! The mood is ~good~

But also I'm turning 36 in a few weeks, meaning that suddenly, the big four-oh feels just that much closer and more real, you know?
Not enough too mess with my mood though. Midlife, schmidlife. Heck, I might not even be middle aged yet when I turn 40!

Which is hella valid in its own right!
