Has it really been what... almost 6 months since I wrote a journal? And ... 10 months since I've drawn anything?

God.

Well, in case anyone was worried, I'm not dead. I've also not been absent from FA, really. I come on every day to check messages and write comments on journals. Other peoples' journals. lol

I've been sorta busy, but mostly unmotivated to draw. Completely unmotivated. I've done a few little sketches here and there, but never got beyond that... and I'm not sure why.

I've been playing City of Heroes/Villains, some Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 & 2, and resurrecting one of my old favorites... Harvest Moon Magical Melody for the gamecube.

Other than that, I haven't been very productive, in any sense, and I really gotta make that change. I gotta get back on track and get my ass in gear. No more lazing about and moping. Back to work!

But not before this short, 4th of July vacation. Going home to visit family. After I get back? I gotta seriously get my head in the game. I'm tired of feeling unaccomplished... and I'm sure my watchers would like some new art from me!

Not really... but learning some things is hard... like how to make an action do two different things depending on the default...

Like... if a character's default speed is 2, when you hit the SHIFT key, I want it to change the speed to 5.
If you hit the SHIFT key again, I want it to go back to default speed 2.

I have not figured out the actionscript to make this work yet... for some reason, it eludes me... xD

I'm trying to figure out a good format for references... and I kinda decided a flash-interactive reference would be the most space-saving way to make a reference sheet, no matter how much info needs to be involved...

Problem: I am a flash-retard. I used to be pretty good at it, but it's been YEARS since I've tinkered with it beyond the very simple "click button to move to next slide" programming ... so I'm sitting here thinking of good ideas, and then wondering "is that even possible in flash?" and "will it be immensely aggravating to program?"

Solution: Ask for advice! xD I'll explain what I'm trying to do, and if any of you know anything about flash, you can tell me if it's possible, difficult, or not worth trying.

My main question at the moment is whether buttons effect the entire canvas, or can they be isolated to a single layer within flash? Such as... if I want buttons that change between outfits and a DIFFERENT set of buttons to change between closeup shots... as well as a button to turn the character around so you can see front and back of all the outfits.

Possible? Difficult? Impossible? xD

I'm working on the interactive reference, and I've learned some interesting actionscript that is making this 100x easier than I initally thought the project was going to be... I've already finished the easiest of the scripts, and now all I have to do is figure out the scripts I need to switch between "fit screen" and "actual size" and also switch between "front" and "rear" views since I intend to have all four of those options for viewers...

This is a difficult project, but I am pleased with my progress, and what I've learned. xD

I think Flash is a lot like C++ ... similar coding, anyways. Everything became easier when I realized that little nugget. xD

Just to change the journal. xD

I go on a short vacation for ONE WEEK... and I come back to almost 4k messages, all art and journals. xD

I don't know how... I don't know why... but tonight I downloaded the newest patch from City of Heroes/Villains, and it totally FUCKED everything on my external harddrive! EVERYTHING! It all looks like gibberish, and I can't open folders anymore. All my art is in there... most of my programs are in there (and unaccessible now) and I have no idea WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!

And the worst part is, I don't have a backup for this. Any computer geeks have any idea what the HELL just fucked over my life? TT_TT

Hubby's going to Guam. Just dropped him off. Now I'll be alone in our apartment for four months with just the cat to keep me company. I'm gonna be SO very lonely... but also SO very productive.

I'm already working on a list of things around the house I want to clean. I'm gonna go all out with this, and clean the house and our cars inside and out, re-organize everything, and basically make the place look awesome. What else have I to do? I'll still be doing art and stuff, but I can't do that 24/7, and nothing gets your mind off your troubles like a bucket of soapy water and a scrub brush.

Soooooooooooooo long story short, expect some melancholy from my direction, and enjoy your summer. One of us should. =)

In case you were wondering.

The only "furry" thing I do is draw anthros, and I don't draw them exclusively. I draw humans, elves, aliens, demons, angels, etc too~!

I just like diversity. =)

Took him to the ER yesterday... he'd been in the bathroom since 7am... got out of the ER at 6:30pm or so... took him home, ate something, and went to get his drugs from a Walgreens nearby. Got home 9pm or so and went to bed purely from exhaustion...

Ran him around today to get him squared away with quarters (military term for "stay home so you don't get us sick, too"), which took from 8am until 1pm... ate something, took a bath, and am still exhausted. Might take a nap.

So yeah, my art plans are kinda in the bucket... along with anything my husband eats and/or drinks. >_>

I REALLY hope I don't catch it, and I'm really glad we have separate bathrooms.

I rarely RP, and I rarely FEEL like RPing. So please respect me by NOT bothering me all the time, wondering if I want to RP. Ask me ONCE, and if I say no, WAIT a week or so before asking again. The more you bother me, the LESS I will want to RP with you.
