Levels of "Stale-ness"
General | Posted 6 years agoI was looking through my inbox today and figured I'd read R-MK's entry on a cum inflation poll. In it, they suggest that since Absol, Delphox, and Renamon are constantly swapping top picks, they'd do all three. However, one will be getting an inflation treatment. So I'm on board, and I was curious about what others were thinking in the comments section so I scroll down. I come across this string of comments between two users. One user personally wants to nominate Renamon, while another argues that Renamon is super stale at this point.
And you know what? I thought they brought up a good point: Renamon is stale.
However, it seems that the latter is really trying to convince the opposing side to not like what they like. I could be wrong, that's just the vibe I was getting from their responses. And you know, I try to stay neutral when it comes to stuff like this, but I personally feel the opposing party was in the wrong for seemingly trying to force their view unto the first guy, like their view is the only right view.
In reality, there is no right or wrong subjective opinion--there is only the perception of one. Different people have different interests and different limits, and we should respect those limits, even if we may not agree with them.
With that said, do I personally think Renamon is stale or old? Yes. In fact, I think they're indeed overdone. But the character itself--the build, the colors--have become such a staple of the community that it's hard to ignore, especially when it comes to the female variety. It doesn't matter its origins--being based off the Kitsune Yokai--it's kind of a sexy Digimon and at the end of the day, I will still want to stick my dick in her and between her titties.

Rainbow Six: Seige is boring

I finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
General | Posted 6 years agoI want to say I enjoyed the game, I honestly do. But, the truth of the matter is I felt indifferent to it. Maybe it was because I tried to get the story done as quick as possible or whatever, but it was a tedious first playthrough. Some design choices felt unfinished or underutilized, but there were also some good choices too. The same goes for the environments, minus Pripyat and Chernobyl--some were bad, but some were good too. Though I don't think it'd be fair to criticize SOC's environments, given it's set in and around the Chernobyl power plant--the site of an infamous fuck-up. Moving on to the music, I kinda liked it all. It's very atmospheric and has a sense of forboding that hits a good bone with me.
I'd go on, but this isn't an in-depth review. I'm still sort of recovering from a cold to even compose one. Maybe one day, I'll do one on this game.

Concerning commissions
General | Posted 6 years agoAh... This four-slot thing isn't working out for me--there's just no focus in it. I need to reduce it to two. I hope you guys don't mind this temporary change.
You can find everything you need to know through http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8332127/. That's the journal with all the commission information.

Got myself sick
General | Posted 6 years agoHey, y'all. So, I was purging my room of filth yesterday. I opened one of my windows and left it open. It was also chilly outside, so starting last night, my throat is sore, my head is killing me, my stomach--while better right now--was hurting like a bitch. And this morning, I was woken up due to the over-heating of my body.
I kind of took for granted what would happen if I left the window open while I was cleaning during the Fall. I know better now.

Let's talk about Destiny 2: New Light
General | Posted 6 years agoI read in a EuroGamer article today that Bungie--the original masterminds behind the Halo series--in light of departing from Activision, has remixed the opening of the to-be-f2p game "Destiny 2". I sit back in my chair in amazement, a joyful smile creeping along my face as I think "They're actually coming back in full swing..." Perhaps Bungie was not infected by the game industry's business choices? Only time will tell, but from the looks of things, they're coming back with a bang and I couldn't be anymore happier about it. What specifically caught my eye in this article is this little tidbit of information that I believe we can all rally behind...
"Start a new Destiny 2 playthrough with New Light and you will be guided from the character creator into the first mission from Destiny 1...But the Tower you'll be taken to is the Destiny 2 Tower, and the Traveller is already in its 'Awoken' state...You're now able to immediately access all of the Tower's vendors and other activities, such as Crucible, and you can kick off the Red War campaign whenever you want by going over to chat with Amanda Holliday."
You know, when I first saw microtransactions in a full-priced game, I thought it was a one-off thing that wouldn't catch on. To my dismay, this business strategy caught on like wildfire and I was, for all intents and purposes, disappointed in the gaming industry.
And then Bungie left Activision on their terms, popped champaign and fucking partied, proceeded to do some Activision damage control, remixed D2's opening, made the game Free-to-play, and are currently outdoing themselves. I have to say, when I saw the teaser for the Shadowkeep DLC, I was taken aback at how amazingly well-composed it was.
It seems like after having left Activision, they have made a bigger comeback than I had anticipated. Bungie... Welcome back, old friend. I am looking forward to the release of Destiny 2: New Light on Steam today.
And you want to know the funny part of all this? I didn't pay for Destiny 2 when it was Battle.net-exclusive. The game became free-to-keep one day and I took full advantage of that. To see this all happening is like a dream coming true because fuck in-game microtransactions in full-priced games. I'm glad that Bungie is seeing their fans eye-to-eye.

Let's talk about Bungie + Destiny
General | Posted 6 years agoWhen a game company literally pops champagne after their departure from a publisher, you just know the future is going to look brighter for them. Yes, I'm talking about the original Halo developers Bungie and their recent break-off from publishing titan Activision and the IP they'd developed under them--Destiny.
I've heard of nightmare stories when it came to the working conditions of being under a publisher. So apparently, from word-of-mouth, Activision was actively rushing Bungie's development cycle since day one, and the Destiny IP has been one of the games that suffered under them, with tight deadlines having to be made with each expansion. Most of us know that publishers are screwing over their third-party developers in this day and age, and Activision is no exception. Looks like someone at Bungie finally decided to say "Hey, Activision. We're tired of your shit. We're leaving, and we're taking our projects you'd used with us".
I can't possibly be any happier for the guys for this. They were the original minds behind the first handful of Halo games, but to watch them get manipulated by Activision was disheartening. After hearing the news, I kinda wanted to start popping some champagne with them!
Thanks to this, Destiny 2 is leaving Activision-Blizzard and will be finally coming to Steam very early into October, which means the game will be open to an even wider range of audience that Battle.net could only dream of having. In a world of microtransactions in full-priced games and unprofessional business decisions--cough, Randy Pitchford, cough--this is refreshing to hear. It's been nothing but negative in the game industry, so I'm glad we're getting something potentially good out of all of this.
Does this mean Bungie will start polishing their game, that they will take their time and better care of games and expansions they do? Eh, I'm not sure. I mean look what happened to Keiji Inafune, the supposed father of Mega Man! He'd left Capcom, founded Comcept and Inti Creates, stretched his resources thin, and now Mighty No. 9--the spiritual successor to Mega Man--is a laughing stock. Father of Mega Man my ass. However, that's just one man compared to an entire company, so unlike Keiji, I have more hope for these guys because they made god-damn Halo--a game that revolutionized the first-person shooter. And that's an accolade I feel is worth praising them for, on top of departing from Activision and getting shit-faced.
As of writing this, I have pre-ordered the Shadowkeep expansion, migrated all my in-game stuff to Steam, and have pre-loaded Destiny 2! Regardless of my doubts, I'm excited. Here's to Bungie! I sincerely hope they can undo the doings of Activision.

Let's talk about Tale of Tails, Space Vixen
General | Posted 6 years agoI'm usually not deep into webcomics. In fact, the last one I read was a fan-made adaptation of--and I'm sure at least some of you have heard of/read it--My Little Dashie. I loved that story back in 2011, and when I saw someone was drawing that story out a couple of years later, I figured I had to read through the pages the artist had at the time. But even then, I stopped reading half-way through because I wasn't invested in it. The artist in question even did an original, fan-made sequel to the original story when he was done drawing that out. Last I checked, it was far darker than the original. I'm still not interested, but it's nice to see that the guy took something they liked and went nuts with it.
But this isn't about My Little Dashie fan fiction now, is it? Have you read the title of this entry? It's time to move on to that.
A friend of mine on Discord told me about the webcomics in question a few days ago, even talking about a moment in Space Vixen where the protagonist was quickly learning how to use a suit's gravitational device, which ended with her crashing into a wall and saying "That... WAS FLIPPING AWESOME!!!" Needless to say, I was invested, and he knew I was, so he told me to search for Feretta on FurAffinity and look for the comics, which I very immediately acted out.
First impressions are everything, so when I found a page from the comic that had mother-fucking Zeus from "Hercules" proclaiming he needed more thunderbolts, I laughed and proceeded to the artist's page to continue my pursuit for the first page. I found the first page, and I spent no more than thirty minutes reading through it all--or at least what the artist had. I loved it. As of right now, I've read through that webcomic three times, probably even more in the foreseeable future, and I've read through Space Vixen only once, which I will remedy as soon as this entry goes out.
You guys. If you haven't read any of these comics, do it now. I'll provide links to each of the first pages of them directly below.
Tale of Tails: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9051357/
Space Vixen, Deep Space K9: https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/space-vixen-deep-space-k9/episode-1-bugs-and-burritos/viewer?title_no=207049&episode_no=2
I have only one problem with Space Vixen, and it's pretty obvious going by the link I provided above: I don't like how it's not on FurAffinity. I have to practically go to another website just to read it, unlike Tale of Tails, where I can just read it on FA and be happy with it. But that's more a nitpick than anything, and it doesn't hamper my enjoyment of the story one bit.
Moving on, there's a big difference in themes when it comes to looking at these comics side-to-side. What I mean by that is that Tale of Tails is adult-oriented, with hardcore sex scenes and actual bloody violence, whereas Space Vixen looks to be more PG than the comic preceding it. It's at this point I should note that Space Vixen is exclusively on WebToons, which at a quick glance looks like a website dedicated to sort-of family-friendly content. I could be wrong about this, so feel free to correct me if need be.
I would continue to make this entry five--or more--long, but I don't exactly want to go in-depth about two webcomics that are not even finished yet. So instead, I'll leave you guys with this: every character--excluding brief cameos--is memorable. Fen, Vix, Mis, Alf, everyone. Feretta knows how to tug on those heartstrings like it's her god-given birthright, and it's no more apparent than in Tale of Tails. But it's not overly heart-wrenching as the artist also knows how to be funny. I don't know how to explain it, but if you've seen at least one good comedy, it's kinda like that but on a grander scale. Feretta writes a good story, on top of executing it well, and Vixavil is so fucking adorable you will fall in love with her as I have, if not three of the main characters.
Okay, that's pretty much it. Have a nice day, everyone.

General | Posted 6 years agoMorbid dreams
General | Posted 6 years agoIn the span of a week, I've had two family members die in a row in really morbid ways in my dreams. And for some reason, all of them involved a serious car accident. First it was my mother, and the one I just had involved my sister. Rather, it was implied she died (she had a large piece of glass in her head, how would she live through that?). To top it off, they were both framed differently: one was from my perspective and the other was like an adult-oriented show. In both scenarios, the air bags did not deploy (assuming these nightmares would have let my folks live) and I bawled.
You might point out that it has part to do with my airbag fetish, but the airbags did not deploy. Even if they did, they would be more in line with reality than fantasy (and likely covered in blood).
Moving on, I have no doubt in my mind that these morbid dreams are caused by consuming cookies before bed, but why did they often involve family? It's starting to wear me down...

Getting an actual job
General | Posted 7 years agoYeah. This commissions thing is slow to start for me. To be completely fair though, I did start a bit too early at around 30 watchers(?). I've just applied to some place near home, so fingers crossed. That doesn't mean I won't ever take commissions again, I'll do it again at some point, when I'm in better standing. As of right now though, it ain't cutting it. For now, commissions are going to be strictly friends only until, again, I'm in better standing to warrant public commissions.

So I Just Watched... Zootopia
General | Posted 7 years agoI really enjoyed my time with the movie. Oh, my god, it was tugging at my heartstrings the whole way and I found it just endearing. I know I'm three years late to the party, but if there's a movie I would gladly re-watch again and again (and possibly never tire of it), that movie may be Zootopia.
And as I sat there as the movie came to an end, I realized something. Well, two things: One; That Breaking Bad reference was not lost on me. And two; this is a buddy-cop movie. Yes, it took me that long to realize. Fight me. :V

Moving Away from Fursonas
General | Posted 7 years agoI've decided to move away from having a character physically represent me as a person due to there being too much emotional weight involved. Michael/Michelle no longer represent me, neither does my dragon-in-progress Nicholas. They'll be their own individual characters from here on out.
Not that I expect anyone to care, but I figured I'd update you guys on that, for how trivial it may be. :L

Just a ref of your character isn't enough...
General | Posted 7 years agoPLEASE PROVIDE FULL REFERENCES OF YOUR CHARACTERS!!! I don't mean just a ref of your character, because those are unreliable. If you want the best results from your commission (meaning minimal errors and a quicker workload), you absolutely have to send me a picture of the character's build.
Or I can just outright reject your commission for insufficient material to work with.
Moral of this journal here is that I do better with a visual representation. So please, keep that in mind. I'm not a fucking psychic. =w=
I'm not Scott-free either. I'll add that to the journal, and maybe my website (if I'm up for it).

You know what that means? I have no other choice but to re-open commissions to save up for shit I need in order to play online, with people, without being handicapped by fucking Wi-Fi and feeling like I'm helping fucking no-one. I kinda want to scream right now if that wasn't apparent.
And please, check back DAILY to see if there are slots open... I don't need to tell anyone this. Please, please, PLEASE help me out here.

Commissions temporarily closed!
General | Posted 7 years agoJust a heads up; upon completion of the last commission, commissions will be temporarily closed while I focus on personal works and try to bring some old, unrealized characters to life, which may or may not include a Siberian Husky I've had on the back-burner for quite some time and a new 'sona.
You can still note me if you're interested in a commission, but only do this if you want to reserve a slot in the future!; I just really, really need a break from doing art for other people at the moment.

I hate playing Smash Bros. online [RANT]
General | Posted 7 years agoYou know what's insulting? Having played Smash Bros for eleven years, learning the ins and outs of each game (minus unintended features, which includes Melee's glitches) and getting to a point where I can have an equally-matched fight against a level 5 (or 6) bot, only to go online and be beaten by the cheapest strategy ever created by man; spamming.
It's typical for games with online features to have their fair share of toxic players, and Smash Bros. is no exception. When I go online, I expect to be challenged. And occasionally, I do play against one, if not three players in the same match that respect one another who don't resort to such abhorrent acts. I will go on record and say that I will gladly lose to people who utilize most if not all of a character's move set. and that in turn encourages me to get better as a player and as a fan of this series. And note how I used the word "occasionally", because the chances of getting pitted against another good player is one-in-a-million. More times than not, you WILL encounter someone that sours the entire experience for you, and sometimes you'll come across a fucking duo who is ridiculously in sync with one another and count on them to resort to using smash attacks only.
Stock matches especially are a pain in the ass. I hate 'em with a burning passion. In a time-only match, people don't care if they lose sometimes. On the flip side, in a stock match, it's a whole bunch of standing around and waiting for someone to fuck up to fly through that open window as quickly as possible, effectively turning it into those dumb-ass shit-fucking tournaments I dread seeing so much. I hate everything about playing Smash Bros. online just as much as I hate gaming tournaments; I want to see the whole thing die, but it'll never happen.
I do everything in my power to be a good sportsman, let it be known. I try to overcome these things that I "let" bother me, but I also have my limits. When I know I'm beaten by means of bullshit, I move into the state I like to call "controlled anger", which is a state in which I become really quiet and try to assign all my energy into kicking someone's ass.
And to that one friend of mine who I wanted to play the game with in the first place; I can't keep doing it. You may have a high-tolerance threshold, but I don't. I'm stopping, because one of these days, on a really bad day, I will either do something I will regret or say something and regrettably mean it. This is the unfortunate consequence that comes with gaming-related trauma; I was beaten unfairly in Soul Calibur 4 multiple consecutive times years ago, and it triggers every time I play a fighting game and I lose in a similar manner. I never got the support I needed back then, and now I'm suffering still, at the age of 22.
Fuck playing Smash Bros. online. In fact, fuck playing fighting games online, period. Online can suck on my balls and drink my fucking semen.
