I remember when we started
The happiness you brought
Your smile…
I remember how you were
Kind, caring…
But most of all
Forgiving
Forgiving of my faults
Forgiving of my mistakes
Forgiving of how I a day to day
But now…
Now that happiness shows less often
And your smile…
A memory replaced by your scorn
Of embarresment and disapproval
That’s almost all I see
Your scorn…
Your scorn for my faults
Your scorn for my mistakes
Your scorn for how I am day to day
Some wonder why I stay
Through your scorn and disapproval
And to them I only have one thing to say
I stay so that I may see the day that you smile again…

Stopped, dead in my tracks
My brains processes seized up
I hit that mental wall…
Writers block.
I think as I feel
Trying to find some imperfection that will let me through
After a minute I stop…
“Wait” I think as I let an idea slip by again
I grin as I feel a slight crack
Using all my might I push
Ramming the idea into the crack in the wall
…and I feel the crack give way
Slowly it begins to widen, sending other cracks out.
I stand there, chuckling
As the entire wall falls to the ground
I stand there looking around the rumble
There is only one thing I can think of doing
…..I keeping going with that one idea
