And boy was it epic!! :D
After going without a weeks or more vacation I finally got my chance last week as I was saving up for it. I really needed the break too as work's been a pain >___>

But yes I was there for a week and stayed at one of the Disney Hotels on property: Disney's Pop Century. We went to all four parks as well:

Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Hollywood Studios
Animal Kingdom

The best one out of all of them is definitely Magic Kingdom :D Got to go on classical rides such as Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror. The lines in general werent as bad as last year at least and it helps to have Fast Passes uvu

Of course the trip wouldn't be complete without meeting characters... including Stitch!! :la: <3 <3 Even got him to autograph my picture (he nibbled on it XD ) The sad thing is my printer and wife's sister's printer were basically out of ink and it printed with lines ^^; Mainly the bottom so i might trip off the bottom piece as his signature is on top on the better half.

Anywho...Im back to work now unfortunately ;3; I was so tempted to skip work today and make it a long weekend XD But oh wells. At least today hasnt been bad at all. Wish I couldve stayed longer though ;v;

Not sure when's the next time we'll go again but I dont think it will be next year.
Probably when the kid(s) come around >v> But we'll see uvu

Just a little headsup I will be leaving this Thursday to go on my Disneyworld vacation! :la: So excited!! Been waiting for half a year for this.
Honestly I havent taken any vacation for the year yet ^^; So Im just glad to get off work finally ;v;

Alright folks....Im still here, the storm hasnt exactly hit us yet but we are expecting it by tonite. The rain has started and wind is slowly picking up speed. The good thing is the storm has downgraded to a Category 3 and the eye of the storm is projected to go west of us now which works in our favor.

As some of you might know already....there is a Category 4 Hurricane in the Carribean at the moment and unfortunately it's heading in my general direction and Florida DX

The outer band is expected to make landfall around my area by tomorrow night. The mountains in Cuba and Haiti will hopefully weaken it back to a Category 2 but we are still preparing for the worst. We will probably lose power for 2-3 days depending but we do have a generator at least.
Will try to keep in contact with you guys and advise how things progress.

Do people take me seriously?

Like say for instance someone says they love my work....yet I never get any comment/favs. Or if I watch a particular person or comment on their profile....id get no thanks at all but they'd go ahead and thank the next person who watches/comments because their art is better than mine or they have loads-o-watchers....

I just get this vibe from certain people....ya know? Then it just causes you to doubt yourself.
I not only speak for myself but for a few friends who undergo the same treatment.
I just don't get people sometimes....

Just a little heads up....this an old post from DA but I wanted to see what you guys on FA think of it as well. If you've read this over on DA you may ignore this xp

Anyways, as of today the subject of Popular Vs Popular came to mind. I know it's kindve a touchy subject at times... ^^;

Well anyways.....the reason why i bring this is up is that I notice how the way certain people treat others in terms of level of popularity. My question is, what separates the popular folks from the unpopular? Honestly, I've seen alot of "unpopular" artists works that blow some of the "popular" artists works right out the water. So why arent these people getting the fair treatment in the end? This is what baffles me about DA/FA sometimes...
Sometimes, Ive noticed people ALWAYS commenting on the popular persons they watch but little to none with the unpopular artists they watch as well. Why exactly is this the case? Are we just not popular that we do not deserve a comment or fav despite showing potential?

Dont get me wrong, I dont consider myself the best artist here nor do i see myself ever reaching the popular level at anytime soon....probably never at this rate XD. But in honesty sometimes it just pains me to see something that I've worked on for hours, days and in some cases weeks only to be beaten out by some simple sketch whipped up in an hour or less. And Im like.... how does that work????

Of course, this has not only happened with me but as of late a close friend of mine has been suffering the same fate and he's really taken a toll after working on art pieces so hard. The quality of his works are outstanding and amazing if words could describe.... But in the end there's barely comments, favs....no watchers....nada.
Another example is another close friend of mine who has been working on his own webcomic for years. I've seen him put blood, sweat and tears into his series. He's really dedicated to make it a successful series and to expand beyond DA/FA. In addition he's done LOADS of other stuff on the side. Yet apparently it's not enough for people to recognise his outstanding efforts.
These guys have truly gone above and beyond and I believe they should be rewarded for their time and efforts. These guys are also posting almost on a daily basis as well. So what gives?
I truly sympathise with these guys along with the many others who's put so much dedication into their stuff... yet....nothing much comes out of it. Which brings me to question.....is Quantity or Quality?
As for myself, most of the time Im just doing this for fun but sometimes it feels like a task to try get some recognition.....and it just takes the fun out of it. I mean sometimes I could care less depending what im working on.

This isnt a rant btw....more of a thought that's baffled me and a few others for awhile now. This isnt directed at popular artists either nor do I have anything against them. Theyre just doing their thing. But allow me to take this opportunity to thank those talented artists that have stood by my side and supported me even when Im not the best artist around. It truly means alot. In most cases, it's usually the popular artists that support other popular artists only and disregard the less experienced...which honestly is a turn off for me.
Even if I live to see me reach their level, I would like help those whom are beginners or less experienced. And I have helped a few individuals and saw them grow to be so talented. It makes me proud of them ;v; . It shows they have alot of potential.

So yes, thats my thoughts on this subject uvu If you have an opinion on the subject be sure to leave a comment below :)

Yes folks, another open journal where you can sit down, ask questions and talk with yours truly :)

So how's life been for you guys? Anything new? Summer vacation anyone?

Last week Friday my wife and her co-workers heard sounds in her office....they couldnt figure out where it was coming from though. The Attic? No.....The underfloor? No.... Within the walls? No....
It wasnt until someone went outside the office only to find a Kitten stuck in a tree. It looked like it had been abandoned as it was dirty and hungry. The kitten was taken inside and placed in a box and given some food until the local Humane Society stopped by to pick him up. My wife contacted me and asked if we should adopt him. At first I was skeptical about it but considering we cant take any dogs into the new place (which we're still pending approval) and seeing pictures of him, I decided it was a yes :)

The Humane Society kept him over the weekend for observation and clean-up until Monday when my wife picked him. Honestly, we thought it was a girl the whole time and named "him" Katniss.....but upon further investigation we discovered it was actually a boy ^^; XD
So instead we named him Winnie.....like Winnie the Pooh....cuz he got stuck in a tree? Yea...you get :P

Anywho, he was very scared a little when he first got home...meowing alot and hiding. However, he quickly grew fond of us and loves to play ^^ He's a big bundle of joy x3 Very adventurous too it seems. Though he does NOT like to be held it seems...doing so he will meow bloody murder XD (He's so tiny as well and fit in the palm of your hand ;v;) but alas he's still young so I guess he'll eventually get used to it. But so far so good! ^^
Hopefully he'll a cool cat and not wreck havac later on ^^; *knocks on wood*

Honestly, this week has been completely harsh for me and one of the harshest in awhile actually.

I dunno...it's like I was hit with a severe case of the blues on top of other things that have happened recently, plus work-related stress that may have contributed more to it.
It's just that all these thoughts kept pounding into my head making frustrated and upset....even if those things werent true. But let me be honest about something that I have come to realize about myself....I can get jealous of people.

Ive talked to well-known users (who shall remain anonymous) thru skype/FA pm's quite a few times and have done stuff for them....you'd think they'd return the favor or same kinda of respect but sometimes that's not the case.
Ill admit....sometimes I just get frustrated and jealous when I see myself go above & beyond for these people, only to get overlooked so easily while some other artist(s) who is more or less skilled them me gets that instant recognition. For example, like say I recommend an artist to another friend and artist and they just go and watch them right away. Me on the other hand have taken MY TIME to do something for them, talk to them often and I just simply get overlooked....no thank yous...no favs...no watches.....nada.

I apologize if it seems Im overreacting and ranting over something insignificant and I honestly try to not let these things bother me.... but it just frustrates me alot because I get jealous. I get the feeling like Im inferior to these artist. I guess you can say this is partially as to why I even stopped doing Request or even gift art to some extent because I fear that it will repeat all over again.

Im sorry for the rant but it's just something I need to get off my chest. I just hope you guys understand.
