Hey all, I hope you are doing well. It is absolutely sweltering down here in Arkansas. There are two things to be discussed in this Weekly Update.

1. I am temporarily changing the day of the weekly update from Thursday to Monday. I hope this will make it easier for me to remember to post. I want to get back to putting these out on a regular basis.

2. I had the pleasure to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. I am privileged to live a happy and healthy life when there are others suffering with ALS, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and other terminal illnesses. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, motor neurone disease, and Charcot Disease is a horrific disease that affects the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord causing degeneration of said neurons. ALS leads to loss of muscle control, paralysis, and, ultimately, death. I encourage all of you to visit the ALS Foundation homepage at http://www.alsa.org/ .

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Just a disclaimer: I know I'm not perfect. Far from it. Nobody is perfect. Humans, by nature, are imperfect beings. This is simply something I TRY to live by.

How many of you have your career already settled out? How many of you have paved the path to your career? I'll tell you what drives me towards my career. I aim to be a pharmaceutical researcher. I want to be someone who conducts research on the medicines we put in our body. I want to help discover medicines that will treat diseases we don't have a treatment for. I want help those who have been afflicted by other medicines. I want to make the world a better place.

However, my career is not the only way I can help other people is by remembering two things: COIN and LATE.

T alk about how YOU can help
E ncourage them as best you can and offer to talk with them again. Let them know you are there for them and that you care about them.

If everyone followed these, how different a place we would live in? People wouldn't be afraid to talk about their life.

Are COIN and LATE the answer to all the worlds problems? No. Are they a step in the right direction? Definitely. I challenge all of you who read this to begin practicing COIN and LATE. I do not mean go around asking people if they need to talk. I challenge you to listen to the people you talk to. Whether it's your coworker or classmate or spouse or girlfriend or that guy you sat next to on the bus. Start LISTENING instead of just HEARING. Start OBSERVING instead of just SEEING.

Just some food for thought.

Well I'm finally getting back into the swing of things, in fact I should have a story up tonight or tomorrow! I am still working on that transformation story I mentioned a while back and have been talking with  dragontzin about said transformation story. He has been a big help in the crafting of the rough drafts of the first half of the story.

Tin Plated is a lovely little channel that I believe does not get enough recognition. The quality of their videos is equal to some of the bigger names out there. The Tin Plated team has a wonderful dynamic that makes for an interesting video. Everyone on the Tin Plated team is very well spoken and all of them have a great sense of humor.

Strengths: Excellent team dynamic, well-spoken, good sense of humor, excellent use of social media

Weaknesses: Small Channel, Little variety(with the exception of "Lightning Sisters" and "One-Offs", everything is a Let's Play), no set schedule

Overall Score: 8.5/10

Final Notes: I encourage all of you to at least check out the channel even if Let's Plays aren't your thing. You may find that you like their dynamic more than others and that makes Let's Plays more enjoyable. Tin Plated talks are also something worth checking out. Overall, this channel is one of my most visited and, more often than not, I enjoy their uploads immensely.

I can now (hopefully) put myself into a regular schedule so far as FA goes. I've had a bit of a rough time recently, but things are getting better now.

I have two projects in the works right now. The first is a transformation story. The second is a new journal type I am looking at. I am thinking about starting a YouTube Channel highlight for smaller YouTube channels just to spread word of some interesting channels.

Finally, I'd like to say goodbye to one of my favorite comedians, Robin Williams. I know full well that Williams was not faultless and that sometimes his humor could be a bit crude. I am simply sad to see him go. He was a funny guy and has a special place in the comedy industry.

So sorry about the inconsistency folks. I have been going through a very hectic time of my life and I just can't seem to get things straight. I just want you all to know that I have NOT abandoned you guys or FA. I have NOT stopped writing, and I most certainly have NOT forgotten anybody or anything.

I have reached an interesting place with what could be my next story and I shall focus on the most popular of the following:

1. A sequel to the Jasmine: Reunion series that takes place directly after the events of Part 2

2. A Transformation tale of loss, hardship, and revenge.

3. My own version of an old Czech folktale with a weight gain twist.

I bet you're all wondering about that third one. Well, my mother's side of the family hails from eastern Europe, primarily Germany, Russia, and what was once Czechoslovakia. My mother's family has only been in the United States for a few generations. This story is a chance for me to learn about some of my ancestral roots.

I implore all who are considering flying with either of these airlines to reconsider! Due to the pitiful mistakes of these airlines, we were forced to find alternate transport from Dallas to Little Rock so as to avoid an extra charge for parking overnight. So sorry about not posting a Weekly Update journal last week! For whatever reason, I have been absolutely exhausted these past days. I've been mostly doing yard work or laying in bed sick. Don't know what happened to me. I couldn't leave my bed, had 102 degree(Fahrenheit) fever, felt queasy, dizzy, and felt light-headed. It only lasted a day though. Hmph. Oh well, I'm better now.

So I think Europe spoiled me so far as bread goes. I never realized how ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING MOST AMERICAN BREAD IS. Mercy, it tastes like the bread was soaked in sugar water. WTF America. How could our bread be so disgusting and me not realize it? Eww.

So anyways, things should be back to normal now. Thanks all for everything just because. Keep on the lookout for an excerpt from my next story/project.

Also, I've decided that it is high time I do two things.

1. Obtain an icon via trade if possible. Anyone interested? Note me. I write more than fat stuff, I swear.

2. Introduce my 'fursona'(I think that's what it is), Timur Viktorovich. If that names sounds familiar, then you must have seen what I put for my full name. It is my emergency fake name(don't ask why I need that, just know that if I needed to I could run away to Russia or somewhere and be Timur Viktorovich).

So I have returned from my European adventure. Man is it good to be back. Everyone in Spain and France was so nice to us that it literally blew my mind. Everyone was very polite and patient with me and my OK Spanish and Terrible French. The food was delicious and oh so fresh. I don't think I can go back to American cold cuts.

We saw so much history and so many incredible buildings. La Sagrada Familia, The Prado, The Louvre, Notre Dame, and The Eiffel Tower just to name a few of the famous places we visited, were all so amazing to see in person. Never can I hope to find something quite like it in the US.

I went to Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris and saw more history and culture than ever before in my travels to Sanibel, San Diego, D.C., San Francisco, Baltimore, Atlanta, Fort Smith, Nashville, and Gulf Shores combined.

Sorry this is going up a day late but I completely forgot yesterday (babysitting your nephews all day will do that to you). Anyways better late than never!

I am still working on a story and a story idea, but I have a weird mix of unwanted procrastination and writer's block.

In other news, do not expect any posts, comments or journals from me for the next week-and-a-half. Monday I leave for a trip to Spain and France. I am so excited! This will be my first time outside the United States and I can't wait to see what the cultures of Spain and France are like. I feel like the US is so drab sometimes when I compare to the cities I am going to soon. I will be visiting Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris. I am going with EF tours so there's going to be a lot of walking every day.

Anyways I will do a special Update journal when I get back.

It's Thursday and you know what that means! Weekly Update time! First, I am already half-way through another story. Secondly, I am planning another set of poems. Third, I am thinking about a new story, this one general fiction. In other news, another story focusing on one of my new characters, Holly, is in the developmental stage and could appear in a few weeks or less. Hello everyone! It's Thursday and you know what that means!

I am feeling soooo much better, both physically and mentally. I am now over my illness and writer's block! I am really glad that Jasmine: Escape part 3 finally got rolled out and now I am brainstorming part 4 AND new characters. I want to introduce these new characters through the Escape mini-series so keep tabs on likely candidates! Really the only thing I really need to do is get an icon. This is all my fault. I haven't messaged a soul about it NOR have I even thought about making one myself. I think I might make a simple one on MS Paint to serve as a place-holder until I can get a legit one. I don't know why but I can't write. I wake up every day with the intent of writing another story at some point in the day, but I just can't. I have no idea what is going on. I typed 5 pages on a research essay today in 30 minutes but I can't bring myself to write a story. I HATE WRITER'S BLOCK. I'm having a mental breakdown because I NEED to write a story but I CAN'T write a story. I thought taking a hiatus from writing would be beneficial not detrimental! I need help.

So this is the first weekly journal I'm doing. I hope to keep these on the shorter side and on track. First, I will tell you what I'm working on, then my plan for the days between this journal and the next one, and, finally, what's been going on with me. Let's get started.

I took a short hiatus to recover from starting back to classes after spring break. I hope to start writing on another story tonight after I've finished my other work. I want to get the plot moving a little faster on the Jasmine: Escape series so that I can move on to other projects.

My plan for the next seven days is to finish another part of Jasmine:Escape and start 'building' a new character. I haven't really gotten past the brainstorming phase yet. That's about it for what I have planned.

My life has been simple yet exhausting as of late. It seems like all of my professors are piling on as much as possible so I have been doing work for most of my evenings recently. Other than that, there have only been a few odd things happening, such as finding out I need glasses and giving blood to LifeBlood.

I've been doing some thinking and I have a couple of ideas I would like to try out.

1. A weekly journal that would most likely come out every Thursday. It would be short and to the point. I would mention what I am working on and how much progress I've made on any projects.

2. I am going to start thinking about an icon. I have no means to pay for one so my only options are to trade for one or try to *gulp* make one myself.

3. I would like to set myself to a limit of one submission per week. That way, I won't run out of ideas, my watchers(love you guys!) will know when to expect another story, and I will have a whole week to think about a story and write it.

4. I would like to branch out into some General stories, but I want to hear some input about that before I make that step. Keep in mind that while I would like to do this, that would mean a slight decrease in stories of the type that are already present in my gallery.

5. I want to get more involved with you guys, but I am not sure what the best thing to do is. I would like to be able to make some more friends in addition to those I already have here on FurAffinity.

Finally back from vacation. Went down to the beautiful island of Sanibel in Florida. It was a great trip (except for the airliner stranding me in Charlotte until 12:30 at night) and I had a lot of fun. The only downside was a wasn't able to post or even work on any stories while I was there because I am complete rubbish at typing on a phone. All that aside, it's good to be back and now it's full steam ahead for all the stories I am working on.

So, I actually have this Journal planned out. First, I want to give a little bit more info about me, though nothing too personal or revealing. Second, I want to give some info about what I write, why I write it, and why I write in general. Finally, I will type up a list of projects that I'm working on and the progress I have made on them.

Okay, so first I'll tell you guys a little bit more about myself. I like lists so I'm going to present the chosen information in sort of a list format.

-I live in the Southern United States
-I have never left the United States, though I am going on a trip to Spain and France this summer.
-I do travel within the United States and I love going on vacation.
-I am an FA, BUT if I find someone whom I like, I don't care if they're fat or skinny, tall or short, etc. If you're right for me, you're right for me
-I want people to live their lives how they want(so long as they aren't hurting other people)
-I enjoy reading
-I don't like bullying, gloating, or insulting
-I have a very short temper but I try to hide it
-I view friends as treasures
-I love history and trivia
-I like chess
-I play the trumpet
-Happy people make me happy

Okay, I think that wraps that up.

Next, I want to talk about what I write, why I write it, and why I like writing in general. I write mostly fat or weight gain furry stuff FOR NOW. I am looking at branching off into Transformation, Love, and General Fiction type stories. I can't really say why I write what I write. I suppose they may stem from fantasies of mine. Not so much the furry thing(I'll get into furry in a minute) but so far, most of my stories focus on Jasmine and Connor or just Jasmine. I would like to have a simple-ish life like they have. I would love to be able to have vivid dreams where I'm stuck in an RPG game or have a girlfriend that doesn't care what other people think and has a good personality and can carry on a good conversation. I honestly can't find a reason why I write what I write. I do not look at furs sexually. I guess it's just that I think they make better characters than just humans sometimes. Or maybe furs are just more interesting. I have no idea really.
The reasons why I write are actually quite simple. (1) I love literature. (2) I love the community here on FurAfffinity and I want to contribute and be a part of it in my own way. (3) Writing helps me escape from the boring rut that my life is stuck in right now. Get up. Go to class. Do your work. Turn it in. Go home. Go to sleep. Lather, rinse, repeat. (4) It is a stress-reliever. (5) It is my natural high. Writing immerses me into a story where I am in control. It gives me a sense of power and care-free enjoyment.

Finally, I want to talk about ongoing and upcoming projects so back to the lists.

Ongoing projects:
-Jasmine Escape mini-series (planning part 2)
-Connor's background (Brainstorming)
-Introducing new characters (Brainstorming)
-Part 2 of 2 of Jasmine: Reunion

Upcoming projects:
-First transformation story (Making decisions integral to the story's overall)

-Story about new characters (Waiting on characters to be thought up by brain)
-Set up some sort of trade or something to get an icon (Thinking)

Well, that's it for projects. I plan to sit down tomorrow and write a fair amount. Hopefully I will have finished at least two of my ongoing projects.

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas. You don't know how much you have helped. Even though I will probably never get around to using those ideas, they did serve to get my own creative brain juices flowing. I've been thinking about writing another story about Jasmine, the beautiful, bountiful, fox. I sat down this evening and typed up a chart with all the ideas I had for another story. I thought about how hard each idea would be to write, my enthusiasm about each idea, the knowledge or experience I had of each idea, how well I thought they would go over with the intended audience(that's you guys!), and how much focus there would be on weight gain or fat as that is Jasmine's main allure. The top ideas were as follows: 1. A dream where she gets fattened a lot, 2. A story of her and Connor going on vacation to the beach(probably Florida), and 3. A small series of small stories depicting Jasmine as the protagonist of an RPG.

I don't like #1 because I think it is overused but I know I will have to write one eventually(cuz that's just how I roll) and I wouldn't write it if I couldn't make it original. It would definitely be the easiest of the three to write but I feel like the quality wouldn't be up to par.

I am unsure about #2 because it would require a lot of attention to detail which would make it very easy for the quality to slip. When I have to pay attention to more details, I feel like my style is diminished and the main attraction is buried between descriptions of vivid environments.

I actually like #3 the best. I haven't read a story like that before. It also has many avenues to pursue so far as plot. Also, since it would be a mini-series of short stories that are (most likely) non-canon in relation to the main Jasmine and Connor story (which I have yet to develop). I only see two downsides with this choice. (A) There is a chance it might become repetitive. (B) It would be very difficult to write and would limit the amount of time I could dedicate to other works.

You've heard my thoughts and now I want to hear yours! Tell me what you think about each idea and why you think the way you do. My goodness I sound like a teacher; "Show your workings!" "You need to write down the process you used!" "You need to tell why you think that!"

Right now, my life is pretty low stress what with the school quarter winding down and all. To keep myself from having nothing to do but play Bravely Default (great game) all afternoon, I want to get some ideas for stories and I'm turning to FurAffinity. I will credit you if your idea helped me create my own. I guess I'm going to treat this like free commissions or something. I don't know. I'll figure it out.
